I asked for refrigerator for meds and there wasn't any available, Front desk was nice but visably nicer to the people in groups, never had a paper delivered to my room . put me on a floor with screamin kids

I was staying at the Sheraton Metairie for the Sugar Bowl with my 21 year old nephew. My nephew was driving in from Alabama and I was flying in from Denver. My nephew did not have a credit card in his name, and he was scheduled to arrive before me. I contacted the general manager, Ms. K Young and she took care of everything regarding his check in.. I had some minor problems during my stay and Ms. Young and her staff,, especially Terrence took care of my issues in a quick manner.
The Club level was always well stocked and the room was spotless.
I appreciate hotels that have a control for both heat and AC in the room. I like my room cool for sleeping even in the winter and I was able to use the AC in January to get my room to the perfect sleeping temperature.
Also, the hotel is conveniently located near the Galleria shopping mall, with Macy's and upscale dining.
The Sheraton Metairie is also a short ride from the French Quarter but without all the noise and hoopla that can be found staying in that location.
The next time I am in the New Orleans area, I will definitely be returning to the Sheraton Metairie.

Stayed here due to its location and price during a 3 week business trip. Would NOT want to stay here again. So many improvements needed...
- Front desk staff always seem overwhelmed and are not friendly - management needs to staff properly so there aren't long wait lines, no one answering the phone when you call guest services, and many times just 1 person available
- Rooms do not come with fridges
- No recognition for SPG status (I'm Platinum) - no room upgrade
- They offer "Make a Green Choice", but don't know anything about the program... asked about it several times but still haven't received my points for it (and no voucher given daily)
- Rooms are not the cleanest- especially the showers
- Elevators are SLOW and 1 of 2 were out of service
- Hotel doesn't participate in SPG promotions (i.e. Double Points)
- Have to request new wifi codes DAILY - why not just reimburse at check-out or grant access for the length of the stay??
- Pillows are so yellow, that you could see the discoloration through the pillowcases
Doesn't seem like the staff/or management care enough to implement any real, effective changes.

After 2 hours of calling the hotel directly to get a copy of my bill that they promised to email me, I'm calling Amex to dispute the charge. Maybe I can finally get a copy..

Rude front desk receptionists, lazy employees at the breakfast buffet, incorrect information on the breakfast vouchers, had to wait hours for clean towels.

We arrived 04.00 pm and the person at the reception was very unpolitefull, when I ask help With my luggage she told me "do it Your self". There was no Club lounge, NeXT morning breakfast at the Club lounge
we enter the lounge at 09.00 o`clock am and before we had the change to roasted to Peaces of bread they removed everything and told us that the Club lounge closed. We have never in a Sheraton hotel seen this behaevour.. I am working for KLM and SAS but I will never recommend this hotel. The only exception was the staff in the bar who was very kind og Professional, rest of the staff needs to be changed.

I stayed at this location for a few weeks for work, purely based on location/spg property to earn points. The room was standard, nothing special. Definite improvements to be made:
- No fridge in rooms
- Breakfast on the club floor is very light
- No recognition for status (Platinum) - no room upgrade, no separate check-in line, etc
- Front desk always seems understaffed - phones ringing, people waiting in line, long wait time to reach guest services by phone
- Elevator is SLOW, and 1 of 2 was out of service
- They offer "Make a Green Choice", but don't slip a voucher under your door like all other properties. The front desk has no knowledge of how the program worked. Had to ask repeatedly to have my points rewarded for weeks worth (still haven't received them)
- New wifi password DAILY. Is that really necessary? Why not issue a password for the length of the stay? Or just reimburse/cancel wifi charges at check out? So inconvenient to have to call or stop by the front desk every day
- Some pillows were so old/dirty, that you could see the yellow through the white pillowcase
- Also, this is one of the few hotels that doesn't participate in certain SPG promotions (i.e., double points) - didn't realize until AFTER
May look into other options the next time around.

Front desk staff was impressive, especially during the check in process. The location was exactly what we were looking for, away from the congestion, but close enough to everything worthy seeing. The room was very nice. The bed was comfortable. Our room was at the end of the hallway and there were no disturbances at night. The fitness center is a little smaller than what I expected.The fee for the internet was a little high. We had no opportunities to eat at the hotel but when I asked for additional coffee packets for the coffee machine in the room they were promptly brought up. Responsive staff, beautiful hotel, great location, will stay there again.

Upon returning from a funeral late Saturday night I found out that there was no parking in the garage. I then asked the gentleman where I should park he said, "I don;t are. I guess on the street. You can move it later tonight." As it was 10:30pm I was not plaining on returning to the car the next day. I was told there was a special event that took all of the parking. I also was club level but not on the club level. My card did not work to open the evaluator to the club level. However when I approached the staff they immediately corrected the problem.Other than the parking the staff was outstanding, especially housekeeping!

Stayed for one night in early May 2014. There were paper, bottle caps under bed. Huge dark stains between the beds. The pillows had giant yellow stains once you remove the pillow case. The bathroom shaving mirror light didn't work. The coffee pot was unplugged. There was no one to greet and take order in restaurant for breakfast (had to talk to someone at front desk). There was no OJ, the food was barely acceptable standard. All of these a symbol of lack of commitment from staff. The training and maintenance managers should be ashamed. I wrote my feedback and am yet to hear back. I will be posting this in tripadvisor if I do not hear from Sheraton mgmt.

I was disappointed in this Sheraton Property. The guest down the hall had a couple of loud barking dogs in their room and after several phone calls to the front desk to speak with the rude nonchalant manager nothing could be done about the noise because the guest was not in the room and could not be contacted . Supposedly I could not move to another floor because the hotel was full. This barking went on for more than 3 hours. I left the hotel and came back and the dogs were still barking. I most likely should have called the police or the animal abuse hotline because the hotel staff was ill equipped to manage this situation. When I asked about the noise ordinance for the Parish , the manager had no clue what a noise ordinance was.

THIS IS MY THIRD TIME HERETHIS MONTH FRONT DESK CANT GET IT RIGHT. I ASKED FOR A REFRIGARATOR THE GUY AT FRONT DESK SAID HE WILL SEND IT UP. STILL NO REFRIDGE FOR MY MEDICINE. SO I USED LAUNDRY BAGSTO ICE DOWN MY MEDICINE. FIVE HOUR PASSED I WENT TO GET FOOD, WHEN I GET OUT THE SHOWER THERE WERE ANTS CRAWLING ALL OVER MY FOOD. I JUST CANT WIN HERE AT THIS HOTEL. I WILL BE BACK BECAUSE MY COMPANY PAYS FOR MY ROOM. I JUST THINK EVEN THOUGH MY COMPANY STILL PAYS I STILL SOUND BE CONSIDERED AS A GUEST, SO NOT ONLY DID I DIDNT GET THE REFRIGARATOR BUT HAD TO DEAL WITH ANTS.. WOW.. I WILL HAVE TO COME BACK NEXT WEEK I HOPE THAT I WILL NOT EXP THIS AGAIN.........

Overall, I was pleased with the hotel and all the amenities. There were, however, some areas of concern. First of all, at check-in I was given a code to access the internet. I was not told there would be a new code every 24 hours. Second, when I reserved the room, I noted there would be four people staying in the room. We left the towels on the bathroom floor (which I assume is customary if new towels are requested). Each day upon our return, there were fewer than 4 towels, washcloths and hand towels. Lastly, the toilet paper was not restocked in the room. We had to request towels and toilet paper on a daily basis.

The hotel was clean, the environment was friendly and receiving, the rooms were comfortable, the Platinum member lounge was nice. Limited snacks, breakfast was mostly breads, but the attendant Amanda was awesome! The housekeeping staff was either lazy or absent when it came to towels. Two of my party didn't have towels for 24 hours. Seriously? You couldn't pull them out of an empty room? They just told her sorry, we don't have any towels right now. That was annoying.
Otherwise, the free parking and easy access to I-10 was a blessing when staying outside of downtown New Orleans where everything is expensive to park.

We stayed at the Sheraton Metarie and thought it was a nice place overall, the rom was nice and quiet and it was far enough from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter and yet close enough that we could go there ..during the day of course with a 5 and 2 year old and head back to safety and comfort when we were through observing the craziness , the overall decorum of the hotel ,(hallways and lobby) gave you the feel that you were privileged and just old fashion classiness that one used to get in hotels but the actual rooms were nice and modern , the main lobby is kind of small and the front desk was small and modern and that was kind of odd but it did work of the property

Overall, the hotel was very clean with comfortable furnishings in the rooms. Staff was always very friendly. The only real negative was the handling of the Green Choice option. I've stayed at this property twice in the month of March requesting the Green Choice, hung the tag outside my room and even reminded the front desk that I did not use housekeeping asking nicely if they can make sure that the Green Choice was noted on my account. Both times I was assured it was in the system and both times I've had to call and request the points after the fact. Either the employees need better training in this regard or the management has decided that people won't bother calling back.

Your place was inadequate from the beginning. I needed a refrig and had to request three times. The 2nd night no parking and was told when there was parking we would get a call. No call. The carpet in the room was filthy. The price was ridiculous. I requested decaf packs for the coffee maker plus various other items, toilet tissue, etc. Partially received. My charge card was charged 834.00 and I was told by the hotel that it wasn't but I was looking at my credit card statement to verify. The Club Floor(food a joke and free drinks; no mention that alcoholic bev. were not free); also the lady handling the food with no gloves, clothing dirty; moving around the dining room; then going back in to preparing food. She verbally embarrassed one of my sisters in front of a room full of guests that laughed; my facial basin was stopped up and could not be used; the maintenance man tried then said it was in the wall; carpet in all room stained and dirty; parking spaces too small; my sisters would have had to pay for WIFI usage; never heard of this!!! .

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was very quiet, clean, and recently renovated in a pleasing fashion. Bed linens were crisp and clean. Bed was super comfortable. Nice Bathroom amenities and a large granite countertop. Desk personnel were just super. Offered to meet us on the secoond floor of the parking deck with a luggage cart without us even asking. They were also able to put a small frig in our room for some medicine we needed to keep cold. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Only one minor comment -- the parking garage is very tight for larger vechicles like SUVs and pickup trucks.

This hotel is nicely decorated, however the rooms are not cleaned daily if staying more than one night! It is just tidied-up slightly! Our garbage can was not emptied for two days, toilet tissue roll not replenished when it ran out, and carpet not vacuumed. Housekeeping took dirty towels and forgot to replace them. Never vacuumed carpets. My husband and I were there for 4 nights! I was told that they only straighten rooms, no cleaning. Everyone deserves a clean room and fresh linen. That is one of the luxuries expected when vacationing! This is the first time a SPG property disappointed us!
