Rated 2 out of 5 by Not the room type specified Despite my reservation specifying a King bed and garden view room, this was not the room that was assigned to me. I had to see 4 rooms and stay in a room on the Caltrain side for one night before I was moved to a garden (or in my case roof) view. I accepted the Green package with the options suggested at reception and also reminded another staff member of my request, yet it was not fulfilled. The stairwell doors at the back of the hotel were supposed to be locked. The door was ajar 5 times out of the 10 times I left the hotel that way. September 12, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not impressed Highly priced for what you get. My guess is this is because of the location as the hotel itself was just fair. Employees were nice, and helpful. The walls are thin. I had to sleep with the fan on so as to not hear the trains going right near the back parking lot. I was insulted that they had Starwood Preferred reserved guest rooms marked, and the rest were apparently "non-preferred" rooms, which happened to be on the side of the train. September 11, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Among Top for Stanford Visits The hotel is nicely kept, and perfect for sporting events at Stanford, or tooling around Palo Alto. Outside facing rooms that are on the side and in the back can hear the CalTrain... but it's not like sitting on the tracks. Parking on a football Saturday could prove to be a challenge. Rated 1 out of 5 by $250 for a bad hotel The price goes up while the quality goes down. The thermostat was hanging by a wire and wouldn't control the heat/cooling. This is after switching rooms because of the smoke smell. Ive stayed at this hotel at least 50 times and other than the wonderful woman that works in the Club lounge, this hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. The carpet is filthy in the lobby. I alway have to wait to talk to someone at the front desk, no matter what time of day. Never stay in a room that backs up to the train station or you get a 5 am wake up call, needed or not. Rated 5 out of 5 by A great place to stay We were in Palo Alto last week to attend a wedding. We had never been there before but had stayed at Sheraton Hotels in the past and decided to do so again. Upon arrival we were greeted with courtesy and warmth that set the tone for the rest of our visit. The hotel staff at all levels of contact were professional, courteous and approachable. The room was very comfortable and well maintained. We ate several meals in the hotel and enjoyed them tremendously. We will continue to look to Sheraton as our first choice when we travel and we would recommend this hotel without hesitation. August 24, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Professional and courteous staff Staff was excellent. This includes staff serving outdoor patio near bar as well as staff in lobby. All staff, and especially staff at front counter and counter to the left of lobby were extremely courteous, always saying good morning, good evening etc. In addition, one of the staff, Jonathan, was extremely proactive and spend several minutes helping me print out my airline boarding pass. Staff in the outdoor patio area near bar were also excellent. The service was great and proactive and I never felt rushed. Your entire staff were excellent. August 12, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Large, old-school chain hotel with confusing layout There is nothing much to actively like about the Sheraton Palo Alto. The rooms are spacious and adequate, though everything is infused with a sickly sweet scent--I found it to be disturbing when I was in the room, and when I opened my suitcase on returning home, was met with a blast of it. Yuck. Happily, my room had a patio, so I could (after some struggle) open the patio doors to the max, and get some real air. The layout is byzantine, and the wayfinding signs are just stupid--many have arrows pointing straight down, as if they were describing rooms on a lower floor. Use left and right, people. Rated 3 out of 5 by Slow room service and room availability issues I am an SPG member and stayed at Sheraton for the fourth time this year. I felt the quality of service reduced each time. Some of the issues i faced this time are: - I had booked one month in advance. However, when i reached the hotel, i was told that i would have to wait for 40 mins to get a room in the Stanford building. This was because of a wedding and people had not checked out yet :/ - I was given a very small room in the Palo alto building. Every single day i came across an insect in the washroom. - On the second day i asked for a few toiletries that were not sent to my room. Water and anything else in general would take atleast 20-30 mins to reach my room. I am definitely going to stay at the Westin from next time. July 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Palo Alto I accepted the 'Green' option. I thought this just meant they would not change sheets and towels. Evidently it means they do not enter your room. Coffee and water not replaced, room looked just like it did when I left. Will not be going Green next time. AC would not turn on. July 25, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by OK with some need for improvement My stay was very average with 2 issues: (1) I was initially put in a room next in the elevator with a lot of noise and was told at the front desk that switching would not be possible. Another staff member later told me that the front desk was being ridiculous and easily helped me switch out. (2) Before checking out, the internet that I paid the night before already stopped. I thought the hotel should at least wait until after I check out before discontinuing the service that I had already paid. July 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by portolm8 I like the Sheraton Palo Alto for various reasons. First the location which is within walking distnace of a wide choice of restaurants downtown. I like the proximity to nice stores like Palo Alto bycilcles and the proximity to the Stanford campus which is ideal for running or walking. In addition to this the staff of the Sheraton Palo Alto is particularly friendly... must be the weather or the location, but they rank to the top of my list of hotels for friendliness, going to extra mile to help out and so on... And this is consistent at each visit! Of course the rooms are very nice and clean. The lounge also has very good breakfast food. July 19, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed Room was too small for the furniture so there was no comfortable place to put a suitcase or sit. The walls were so thin that we heard offensive noises everytime someone walked by, flushed a toilet or took a shower in another room. We even heard the housekeeping staff's chatter outside our room in the hallway and their storeroom across the hall. We also almost lost our luggage because the bell capitan put it away without telling us after we checked out. July 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Overall, not very good Obviously, this is the Sheraton, it has many nice features, but all in all for the price you are paying you don't get a very nice place. Here are a few of the problems: very few outlets (in case you need to charge things), air conditioner was very loud and barely cooled the room, no mini-fridge, fire alarm forcing us all out into the pool area in the night, etc. July 12, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Quietly Perfect! I was surprised how clean and quiet our room at the Sheraton Palo Alto was. The short walk to the award winning Reposado was so convenient.Also, the hotel was directly across from Stanford. We will definitely stay at the Sheraton again. Thanks!. July 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Weekend Escape Sheraton hotels are excellently represented by this property in Palo Alto. We have racked up four stays under our SPG account here. Each room we have stayed in is very clean, spacious and recently remodeled. The lavatories are well lit and allow enough space to get started for the day without interrupting others in the room. We’ve started many mornings off with prompt and personalized room service on the balcony overlooking its courtyard full of lush gardens, a babbling brook leading to the pond filled with Koi, all opening to a row of cushy lounge chairs surrounding a rejuvenating pool. Did I mention it’s next to the main restaurant and bar where one can sip drinks with fellow guests until moonrise, or dine al fresco at their Sunday brunch buffet? We love this location especially because it is quietly nestled between Stanford shopping center; located just across the street. Staying on University avenue allows one to walk around the plethora of shopping, café dining, or just enjoy the beautiful neighborhood of old faculty homes. Though the Hotel provides excellent dining, it does provide a refrigerator for all the organic goodies one can pick up at the local market. This comes in handy after using the indoor exercise room. Don’t forget to utilize the ample covered parking around back if needed, and the friendly staff who are there to aid around the clock. So if you are looking for that weekend getaway, stop off between travels, or planning an event please call upon the Sheraton Hotel Palo Alto! July 7, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by An OK SPG hotel The Sheraton at Palo Alto is in a great location. The general environment of the hotel (bot inside and outside) is quite nice. But one thing that I am complaining about is: the drain of the bath tub in my room is kinda clogged partially, which make the water accumulated during showering... This makes me very uncomfortable and really shouldn't happen at a Sheraton. I only stayed for one night so I didn't even bother to contact the facility management. But it is rather disappointing. Rated 3 out of 5 by Seriously? No refrigerator? For the amount I paid to stay at this hotel, I was significantly disappointed in the in-room amenities (or lack thereof). No fridge! Not even for a mini-bar. Costly wifi! Ridiculous parking costs! With this being the recommended hotel for a wedding we were attending, we had high expectations. The staff was only moderately helpful (asked me if I preferred to receive points or $5/day for the green-program. I responded $5 credits. Had to come back to the desk two days later to get the vouchers because they'd signed me up for points after all.) Even with the sign on the door, the housekeepers cleaned the room. The remote batteries in my sister's room died and the hotel tried to charge her for the replacement batteries. Bottom line: stay somewhere else. July 1, 2014
