I was sincerely dissappointed with our one night stay at thie Sheraton Hotel.
I have stayed at Sheraton in other countries before & all were much more welcoming.
firstly the parking attendant was very rude and made us park well away from the hotel to offload all 6 guest and all our luggage. then the check in girl was just as abrupt and rude. we had already driven around Miami for 2 hours waiting for the designated check in time at 3pm & she told us rudely if we wanted 2 rooms on the same floor we would have to wait another 2 hours! We had 2 grandparents & 2 kids in our party. all in all a very dissappointing choice of hotel & one I will never recommend. Ron the bell hop was nice though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Damadovinho Bad luck or bad hotel?
Hotel staff was not friendly, hotel is located next to the airport, BUT very difficult access, did not feel secure at all. Rooms and parking lot have signs which says to lock everything and to not leave anything inside the car.
I was charged 4 US$ per day for package storage, but I did send 2 emails before to the hotel and guest services and was not advised. The packages contained visit cards, so the storage was more expensive than the cards.
Reception did not want to solve this problem and simply said that I had to talk with the bellmen.
Bellmen did not find my packages, but once I said I had the tracking number, suddenly the packages were there and arrived 10 days before.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jay16 Parking is not user friendly
Inital arrival was very fustrating. Valet was behind. Self parked and had to walk behind the hotel to get into the lobby with lots of luggage. My room key was not coded to enter/exit garage. Scanner would not read any of my credit cards so I could not leave the garage without waiting for help from the hotel. Room was great. I could not check out. Tried calling from room, no one would answer.... went downstairs to lobby. The line was very loong with one one person behind counter. There is no excuse for a hotel next to one of the largest airports in the country not to be staffed.

We stayed here for 2 nights before our cruise and 1 night after it. The hotel appears to be on part of the airport property and is very close to the terminals. The complimentary shuttle service was as advertised which is always appreciated.
On our first stay we were not upgraded or even placed on a SPG preferred floor. On our return stay we again were not upgraded or placed on a SPG preferred floor, but as we checked in early (and were accommodated) I understand that time. The front desk staff were helpful but I found the concierge desk to be less so. Rather indifferent and not overly helpful with any of my questions. The hotel does provide a complimentary shuttle to Coral Gables daily. You leave around 6:30 PM but there is only one pick-up time - 9:00PM. While Coral Gables has a fair number of shops, the vast majority are either wedding gown or hair styling - and those will tend to be closed at the time you are taken there. There are some nice restaurants in the area, but unless you are having a longer dinner, you will likely find yourself killing time waiting for the return shuttle - of course you could cough up a few bucks for a cab, which this cheap skate did not do. At the hotel the restaurant is okay. Nothing extraordinary and the prices are mid-range. The hotel location is great if you are looking to arrive early for a cruise. Flat rate from the hotel to the port (same for return) of $24 - very reasonable. Far cheaper if travelling as a family / group than the shuttle service which is about $10/person. Pool is not overly big, but was clean. Overall, would stay here again as a transit point.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. It was a complete letdown. I travel for a living, and stay in hotels, both foreign and domestic, 3, 4, 5 nights a week. When I can, I try to stay in SPG hotels because of the wonderful costomer service, and because I know I will be staying in a nice, clean, safe environment. This stay started off by waiting an hour and a half at the airport for the shuttle bus. When it picked me up at almost midnight, it was so full of other people who had been waiting just as long, that I was the last person it could hold. The driver had to turn away approximately forty other people, a lot of them families with children, to pick up later. This was just unacceptable. Then there was only one person working the reception desk, which slowed check in down to a crawl. I landed at ten p.m. and it was around two thirty a.m. when I finally got to my room, which wasn't all that great. The next day when I attempted to check out, the reception desk was understaffed again. I had to wait to check out because I never got my usual bill under my door and needed a hard copy for business reasons. After waiting behind a lady for almost half an hour, a group came in off a shuttle bus and someone came from the back to help them, but ignored me. Then, when the lady in fron of me was finally done, the girl behind the desk ignored me to wait on a girl who just walked in and rudely cut right in front of me. When she finally got to me and checked me out and I asked for a hard copy of my bill, she complained to me why didn't I just use the one from under my door? Really? I asked to speak to the manager, who of course was unavailable. SPG/Sheraton should take their name away from this hotel before it ruins their reputation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Davidcc9 Not Worthy of an SPG Property
If it didn't say Sheraton outside the hotel I would not have believed it was a Sheraton property.
No one recognized my colleague and I as a Platinum member, I had to ask for the SPG reward upon check in (the 500 point option). We reserved club level rooms and when we checked in I asked if there was an upgrade, I was told we were upgraded to the club level, I had to remind and show proof of our club level reservation to the agent at the front desk. Once she saw that, then she said we we upgraded to a room with purefied air, so I asked her does this mean that the other rooms have poor air quality !!!!
It went downhill from there, the room was small, to walk around the bed, I had to move the desk chair and my briefcase otherwise I would not be able to get by to the bathroom. Instead of glasses they have soft plastic cups wrapped in a plastic bag, similar to what you would expect in a cheap roadside motel.
Housekeeping did not leave me shower gel to shower with, I had requested a king, got a queen disguised as a king bed.
When I asked for the manager, she came on the phone, could care less about my comments, basically a "this is the way it is, take it or leave it" attitude, not even an apology for the issues that were correctable.
The club lounge was a joke, the food was indelible, we ended up having breakfast in the restaurant and although the staff was kind and courteous, they did not offer to refill the coffee or the orange juice, the food took forever to come out and we were actually late for our business meeting due to the delay, had to ask where our food was after 20 minutes.
Starwood should be embarrassed to consider this property as part of their group of hotels.
All I can say is this was two stays in one, first and last !

Rated 1 out of 5 by LoyalSPG Below SPG Standards
I am a loyal SPG customer, and I have been very pleased with every SPG property. Except this one.
The room was filthy (hair on the floor, someone else's dirty socks under our bed, and the fridg in the room was so badly dented and rusted it looked like it went through 10 Miami spring breaks).
Additionally, the staff was not friendly. I waited for 20 minutes to get a glass of wine from the bar. The bartender even looked at me, ignored my request, and walked away (there were less than 10 people in the bar).
The only positive was the shuttle service and driver. They were exceptional.

Rated 1 out of 5 by pbiflyer Old, outdated, uncaring staff
I am currently staying at the hotel, in a club level room. The room is hot, the engineer basically said the top floor is always hot and the AC units are old.
So is everything else about this hotel. The mattress is probably still the original, it is so sagging.
The internet speed reminds me of dial up days. Pages take forever to load.
After waiting 30 minutes, after midnight to get them to change my room, I gave up and went to sleep in the hot room, grateful for any wisp of air that the AC unit could produce.
Would never, ever stay here again. Strongly recommend against this hotel.

The hotel service here is terrible, no one even tries to do their job and very unorganized. The club lounge never refills food at breakfast nor even keeps a supply of utensils or plates to even eat it. Never seen more unhappy people in the lounge. Bell service was unhelpful to even get a cab for us. Room service wouldn't bring clean towels after 3 calls to ask for them, just kept making excuses on why after an hour I had to keep waiting (still never came).
If you want a cheap rate then maybe you could stay here but in all honesty I would stay anywhere else not worth it.

I've stayed at Sheraton MIA Airport Hotel approximately 4 times this year. This hotel is the only hotel in any territory I've actually stayed at more than once, due to the obvious fact that they have mastered the art of putting the guest first. From the shuttle drivers to all the hotel staff everyone does his/her job with two things: pride and a smile, which has made this place the premiere business/family stop-over location in my growing list of hotel stays. Very economical, clean, efficient, welcoming, helpful and relaxing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is in bad repair. There are signs speaking of a renovation but not a lot of renovating. One elevator not working, pool cloudy and closed after 2 days of being there. Other elevator dropped a couple of feet between 7 and 8 floor. A little scary. Stuck in elevator on 10th floor. I used the 'Go Green' and never received vouchers unless I went downstairs. I was told I only receive 2 out of 3 days because every 3rd day the room has to be cleaned. That never happened. Awful! Front entrance is boarded up. Nice location by airport but awful hotel.

This hotel was not up to SPG standards at all. My room smelled musty. The carpeting was not clean the bathroom was so small that you can not get into the tub without completely shutting the bathroom door and that was difficult since the door almost hits the commode. The front desk staff was not knowledgeable and no one was at the SPG preferred desk the three times I went to the front desk. The front desk was not helpful when I informed them of my dissatisfaction. The valet said I had to valet - not the case. And the restaurant food was sub par.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jammin596 BEST of three!!!
I've had to stay at 3 different hotels for two trips to Grenada In late July 2012 and recently in late May 2013. The first hotel was dirty, noisy, and neglectful registrar. The 2nd had to move me due to strong cigarette smoke in a "smoke free" room. The alternate room was still not clear but tolerable. The 3rd was the Sheraton and OH! what a relief. VERY CLEAN, amiable staff from the shuttle pick up to the baggage check, to the regisrar's desk! The room was awesome. NO SMOKE smell, VERY nice linens, GREAT bathroom - I actually took a bath, not a shower because of the handicap handle in the tub!! Wonderful experience. I had an overnight connection at the airport. My last air leg was much more relaxed due to this hotel stay. THANK YOU SHERATON! I'll stay if needed again!!

Maybe it's just me, because I live near the " happiest place on earth" in greater Orlando, and have been spoiled by amazing customer service my whole life, but I get better customer service at the grocery store than I do at this hotel. Right from check in, you'll be greeted with no smile, no enthusiasm and any questions you have will be answered with curt one word response. This theme will follow you through out your stay. The only staff that will smile and help you is the staff that work's off of tips.

Good hotel and nice staff. Got a renovated room. Sill shows that it is an older facilty that is being renovated.
Room is nice and very confortable. Bathroom average and smallish.
The room lacks:
- an armchair
- electrical outlets. Very difficult to find an available outlet.
Also wi-fi is no good: dificult to connect, slow, disconnect going to lobby etc. Never had so many problems with wi-fi in other hotels recently.
Supper on the terrace facing the park/golf was very nice and food excellent.

The staff here are all very friendly and helpful. From the second we stepped off the airport shuttle, they were making sure we were taken care of. After a long day of travel, it was nice to be greeted by such friendly faces. I hadn't put my SPG # on the reservation and as soon as we stepped up to the desk and I had my card in hand, our SPG room was made available. We stayed for 1 night before a cruise. The room was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was great. Will definitely stay again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by MIAtraveler Surly staff, dated hotel
What a shame to the Sheraton name. The hotel is dated. But if it was just that, it would make an ok airport hotel. The biggest problem is the staff.
The front desk staff is beyond anything I've seen before. A guest came up to ask where the shuttle was (since the front was covered in police vehicles and ambulances), and the front desk person told her it was on the street. As she walked away, he called her so many names behind her back, that I was floored.
They don't give you a card to get out of the garage when you check out, you have to call the front desk. And they don't answer the phone for a long time, and when they do, they yell at you that they are sending someone. Hopefully you're not in a hurry.
Don't stay here. If anything goes wrong, the staff will NOT help you. That's not what you want in a hotel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by firefighterr Very disappointing hotel
Worst Sheraton experience ever! The bed sheets were dirty and wrinkly (not pressed), the towels in the bathroom are very, very old, hence terrible quality (same for the towels by the pool!). There's a loud noise that barely lets you sleep (still don't know what noise it was, as I turned the AC off). The staff is not very friendly (except for Car Valets/Bell Boys - they are very nice). In general the hotel is old and needs to be remodeled badly! And please buy new towels!

Starting with Aileen - I knew this would be the place. Then on to Amanda and Sissi who pulled it all together, dealt with every detail and bent over backwards to make anything I wanted happen- This was definately the best location I could have chosen. Ernesto was always there to make sure I had everything I needed. The wait staff was fantastic! The location was simple, the comfort of the meeting space was superior and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend them!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by MJD67 Convenient to airport, but don’t stay here
First and last time I will stay there. By far one of the worst Starwoods properties in this area. Staff seemed to care less about guests needs.. and even as a Platinium member there seemed to be no concern. Property is in DIRE need of renovations, bathroom was HORRIBLE with tile grout issues, mold stains, and general musty unclean odor, towels provided were frayed on ends too... all carpets were well worn and need replaced, and as I went up to the Club for breakfast they had ceiling support jacks in the hall-way holding up the roof. Club breakfast was not standard either.. no hot food options available, just cereals, juices coffee and pastries. Valet took forever to bring the car around even after I called down 10min prior to check-out. Was really disappointed as I know the Sheraton brand deserves better representation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by stw75 very good airport hotel
Our flight arrived at 1000 so our room was not ready. They held our bags and give us access to the lounge since we had a club floor room. A great place to rest after our flight. The deck called us when our room was ready. Club floor was very nice the rooms were updated and very clean. Heard no aircraft noise for being at the edge of the airport. Evening snacks and breakfast were very good. Bus station is across the street. Was able to get to Miami Beach and back very easily. I left my sunglasses in the room and did not miss them until we got on our ship. Gone for 2 weeks so it was 2 weeks before I could call the hotel to see if they had them. They did have them and the very nice lady at the hotel packed them and sent them to me. Very impressed by the staff. When I need a hotel in Miami the airport Sheraton is my first choice.

First room was so gross we had to leave right away. We asked the last time it was cleaned. Staff did not know.
Second room was barely acceptable. (And we are not that picky.)
Ten minutes after being in room, man (claiming to be house keeping) barged into our room as we were changing and told us we needed to checkout. (Obvious mistake, but, we were in the middle of undressing.)
We have stayed here in the past with no issues, but this was bad. Very bad.

Would definitely stay again. But don't buy ANYTHING from Farina's Pizzeria. We ordered steak subs and garlic bread. Man said it would be 35 mins, we waited an hour 10 mins and called back then was told another 35 mins. When we finally got the food (if that is what you could call it) it was very disappointing. The garlic rolls didn't have any garlic on them and were tough like 5 day old rolls. The steak subs had no steak on them , just some kind of mystery meat. Delivery guy should speak a little basic English also. I ended up throwing most of it out. The hotel should do something about the local food buisnesses they let put fliers in everyones room. At least make sure the food is edible. All the vending machines on every floor were inop also. Not sure if it is planned that way so you buy from their store but did seem kinda strange.

The sales staff was disceptive and tried to procure a 2 nite deposit. I strongly objected and was told my reservations was for 3 nites not 4. When I checked in my card was charged over $700.00 due to a 4 nite stay that was never removed. Again I had to STRONGLY object before I got resolution. I was told I would get a sleeper for the 3rd person again deceiving, only 2 queen beds in the room. The phone didn't work and was never repaired during my stay. Bait and switch is what your sales team practices to make their sales goals and apparently the GM Jon approves of this deception. I will tell my story on all 5 of my Social Media sites.

Staff did nothing the acknowledge platinum status other than to tell me that I get extra points since they don't offer any other options. Room was fine, needs to be put onto the list of hotels that Starwood plans to renovate, but wasn't bad. However, I was woken around 5am by loud screeching noise coming from elevators that would sound apparently every time it stopped or came near my room. Having arrived late due to flight delays I was hoping for some sleep, but it didn't happen. When I called the management they apologized, but nothing they could do could make up for the hours or sleep that I needed but did not get.
There are a dozen other hotels nearby. If price is competitive, preferred benefits are no different, the rooms are fair, but you need to be able to sleep, either make sure you get a room far from the elevators or stay somewhere else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gerry Would not stay here again.
The room constantly had feather particles suspended in the air, either from the pillows or linens. The coffee station did not get replenished when the room was cleaned daily. We had to call the front desk to get coffee, cups, creamer and sugar brought to our room. One time they took half an hour to get to our room. The basic room that I was assigned as an SPG member did not even contain a small fridge to keep my childs anti-biotics cold. I have stayed in hotels half the price of this one that atleast had a small fridge. The only good thing about this hotel is the fantastic breakfast buffet. If you're looking for breakfast around the Miami airport, I would recommend the Rickenbacker restaurant but if you're looking for a hotel, definitly go elsewhere.
