Rated 3 out of 5 by Meh... This hotel was standard. Cleanliness was good. The pool and hot tub were functioning. There was a good staff list of nearby restaurants. I recommend Hugo's for breakfast. It was good enough that we ate their 2 mornings in a row! My problem is that we chose this hotel over others in the area because the free shuttle service for the wedding we were attending. No staff member told us that we were required to sign up for the shuttle (not at check-in when we said we were going to a wedding or any other time), so 30 minutes before the wedding ceremony, we waited outside and were rejected by the man driving the shuttle. When we complained to the front desk, they told us that it was the fault of the wedding couple who should have told us about the sign-up policy. They blamed the wedding couple on their wedding day, and an entire load of people who didn't get the memo had to find other means of last minute transportation. This hotel charged for internet access and breakfast. I would not come here again since there are other hotels with better amenities and better service. P.S. I have a problem with a hotel whom in their "Terms of Service" writes that they have "the right, but not the obligation, to edit, remove, modify, translate, publish, license, print, transmit, display." Editing and modifying one's review? Questionable. October 25, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Improvements Needed My hotel suite was not clean......lots of human hairs on the bathroom floor and ketchum all over the air conditioner control setting. I told the manager and he did not respond too well. We got a call the morning after our check in asking about a water leak and if they could come into our room. Carpet was wet around a/c unit and apparently leaking below our floor. Also, we arrived at Club Lounge 2 minutes after 8:00 p.m. ....host was just packaging up cheese, crackers, etc. We asked if we could sneak in a plate and he said NO! I thought that was really tacky. Yes, the cheese was wrapped but it would have taken nothing to open and let us take some. July 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good and Bad I gave low marks for a number of reasons. The room was alright, (worn and need of refreshing) the view was horrible but the fact that we showed up an hour before check in and given a room was nice. The bed was very comfortable, however the noise from the hallways made a good rest unlikely. The amenities(shampoo, conditioner smelled nice but were strange and ineffectual. The bar staff were slow to acknowledge customers and the food service speed was very slow. The staff we had the event were very good but I question why the bar could not be restocked when there was a large demand for certain items. The room service breakfast arrived on time. The eggs were cooked as ordered the potatoes were almost raw and the bacon was overcooked to the point of brittleness. The check out was quick but we left unsure of the charges to our room. Rated 5 out of 5 by Suburban Oasis Very nice and well maintained property in a very green setting just off the interstate and not too far from northern LA. There's a nice outdoor pool and seating area with fire pits, as well as a fairly typical but good restaurant and bar. Staff is very friendly, and platinum received club level upgrade. Club service appears extensive (they even have a specific "dessert" time from 8-10), but the room is small, computers are exposed to the eating area for no privacy, and food/beverage selection is pretty limited. Because I wasn't actually on the club level, I was also offered a complimentary breakfast buffet in the restaurant, which was pretty nice and had plenty of options. I would definitely stay here again. October 27, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not the average Sheration this sheration was tired and old . Popcorn ceilings in the room and an air conditioner that was inefficient. We had to go to the front desk to get someone in the resturant to help us and then it took over an hour to get our food which came out different then what was described on the menu. The pool is like an apartment complex pool with no service an and very few chairs. Towels were small and thin and should not have been considered pool towels. i went to the bar three times and there was never anyone manning it. The omelet chef at breakfast was very rude and was quick to tell me that asking for egg whites with cheese didnt make any sense. Horrible service all the way around and i would never stay there again! May 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Delivers what you expect from Sheraton Nestled in the hills right off the 101, this Sheraton provides good value and comfort. It often won't cost that much more than the those very average 2-3 star properties that dominate the lodging landscape between Woodland Hills and Malibu, but it offers a relaxing, resort-like atmosphere and decent amenities including a nice size outdoor pool and ok workout facilities. The lobby, restaurant and public areas are freshly updated and have a contemporary but somewhat spartan look. The rooms are fine but not luxurious. This hotel basically delivers what you expect from Sheraton. September 7, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful facility Beautiful facility with full amenities at a great price. August 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good location and nice setting My wife and I enjoyed everything about our stay here...except the television. If you are paying for a movie it works fine. If you are trying to watch regular TV it is not fine. First just trying to figure out how to watch regular TV is totally non-intuitive. We had to call the front desk for assistance. Second, the video constantly stopped while the audio continued to play so you would miss the video portion of the scene. We don't typically watch much TV but had some rare time to relax and watch a show and just ended being annoyed. Other than that all was good. July 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Experience My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Pool area was awesome. My only qualm was that the food (particularly breakfast) was way too expensive and I think its ridiculous to charge for wi-fi. August 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Serviice is great Front desk is helpful and friendly and several remember me from month to month. Jennifer and Kate in the restaurant are so helpful, personal and professional. Their smiling faces are always a welcome feature to my stays in Agoura. August 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Valued Guest Until You're Not I had confirmed reservations for 3 double-bed rooms. I contacted the hotel the morning of check-in to advise I would be arriving late. I added two other names to my reservation in case they arrived earlier. I arrived at the hotel to find they only had one of the 3 confirmed rooms available. The hotel was "completely booked" due to a couple weddings that weekend. Despite having reservations, I waited nearly an hour to see what hotel staff could do. What could they do? Ultimately, they "stole" a double-bed room from another guest and offered me 2 double-bed rooms and a King room with a rollaway. This still left me short a bed for one person. I was then told they have run out of rollaway beds for the weekend so now two people have no place to sleep. Hotel staff was sympathetic but offered nothing else. I was reluctant to accept the rooms however, at 11pm, it was impossible to locate 3 rooms at another hotel. Beware: As a 'guest', you'll need to accommodate the hotel rather than the other way around. Don't expect any assistance staff/manager or otherwise. August 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent night's sleep! I was zonked out for a solid 8 hours in this comfy bed. Hotel is very clean and well maintained. Room service needs improvement- it took longer than I was told, and the food was just ok. August 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Nice Hotel We really enjoyed all aspects of our stay at this hotel. The food exceeded expectations and the pool was really really nice. August 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great stay with some minor issues.. i would stay again! Location scene was great. Had some rooms on the first floor being worked on and the workers woke us up at 7:30am walking the hallway chatting. Supposed to get a joining room, even called in to make sure that morning .. staff thought that is what they gave us but it wasn't .. wasn't the end of the world. nothing else available . the SPG lounge was awesome! thought was better then most. I would stay here again.. i am sure the remodel of some of the rooms will be done soon. Staff were very nice at the front desk. July 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable Hotel Great Hotel that was very convenient to the Highway, and also very conveniently located to a Business partners Head Office. Very comfortable Rooms with great Beds, as you would expect at a Sheraton. Very friendly and helpful Staff, overall this is a good Hotel at a reasonable cost, and the facilities were great. Rated 5 out of 5 by A wonderful stay The hotel offered so many amenities and thought of every little thing. The staff was warm and friendly and were so helpful with directions or recommendations on local activities. It was very clean and the room was very comfortable. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and my kids had so much fun. July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Home away from home I stay here on a monthly basis while traveling on business and have been consistently impressed with the warmth of the staff. They greet me by name and take great pride in making my stay as comfortable as possible. Hotel gym has all the necessary machines and weights, and the restaurant has the best food I've had at a Sheraton property. Only area for improvement is the atmosphere in the restaurant/bar - will be undergoing a makeover soon, which will very much improve the look/feel. March 14, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by 4 star comfortable LA is huge and spread out, hotel location is only good if you want to be in this area. its far from beverly hills, downtown or beach. there's a golf course nearby and the landing next to the lake is pretty nice. I'm only here cos my friend lives nearby. The hotel service is good, facilities are average, 4 star standard, no pool. views from rooms are ordinary. Its worth paying the extra to be in club floor, althou club room is a little crowded when hotel is busy. August 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful hotel! Loved the inset into the mountain, quiet, away from the city noise but close enough for shopping. We come to cali every year and stay in differnet hotels, next year we will be back! Staff was amazing-they all deserve a raise. Front desk are all keepers! The bed is amazing, so amazing I went online when I got home and ordered the same thing! I have worked in a hotel for 17 years and you should be proud of all of yours! Overall loved the place! Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel, closest to Malibu/PCH My wife and I got married in Malibu near Point Dume along PCH. After researching numerous hotels in the area, we selected Sheraton Agoura Hills because it was the most convenient to get to and also the best value. The hotel is just up Kanan Dume Road and then a left on Agoura Road. We were pleased by the hotel staff and accommodations. The rooms were above expectations. The bridal suite was large enough for my wife and the bridemaids to have their hair/makeup done inside. Also, there were courtesy shuttles available to transport our guests to the venue. Brunch in the restaurant was awesome. There was plenty of warm breakfast foods available and a wide assortment of fresh fruits. Most of our guests dined here the next morning. This hotel is great for those wanting to provide nice accommodations at a low nightly rate for their wedding guests. July 31, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Some notes I had some issues regarding noise from other guests and it continued although I called the reception. I ordered room service once and they forgot my request. I skipped the room cleaning but the cleaning team should check if any items must be replaced (like soap, facial tissues, body lotion). Overall it was a nice stay and I am happy to be back in September. July 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 5 Star Quality Comfort, Hospitality The Sheraton Agoura Hills Hotel is truly a hidden gem in the suburbs of Agoura Hills. Check-in/concierge, the bartender, the pool man, housekeeping & the maintenance person are genuinely personable people & added to our restful stay. The peaceful family and pet friendly atmosphere, the tranquil bed & the relaxing patio lounging is inviting to stay longer & definitely worth an intended return trip. RFrancoFamily July 23, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed in room We were surprised to find such a small room, stained carpets, stained grout in shower. Also surprised to find that there was a charge for wifi and breakfast. All of this was not expected at a hotel that prides itself on its name. July 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by A good choice, now with Starwood points I've been staying a few times a year since 2004, when it was part of Renaissance. Rooms are comfortable, esp the super-high beds. Rooms could use a little updating, but overall are fine.Good bar and restaurant (especially Jen, one of the breakfast servers). 99% business crowd during the weekdays - lots of small groups. Definitely a solid choice, and a bit more luxurious than your average Sheraton. October 31, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by this is a business style hotel this is a regular sheraton hotel. do not expect to feel welcome and receive special treatment for being SPG member. i have gold status and they gave us a regular room, nothing special just a bed and bathroom, small sized room, the bed is on a particularly high bedframe. we asked for complimentary drinks and breakfast from elite club lounge and they did not want to accomodate saying if they gave me the free can of coke or water bottle i wouldnt work on becoming a platinum status. i mean seriously i check in with my SPG credit card obviously i like the spg program. the hotel was full of business people and there was a meeting going on there. I used 7,000 points for the 1 night stay and in the morning the bill they slipped under the door had a room charge on there i had to go to the front desk to have it resolved and the lady in the morning was curtious and said she will update to a 0 balance. Rated 5 out of 5 by You'll forget you're in a metropolitan area... To sit on "my" balcony in the morning, coffee in hand, staring up into those beautiful hills, fog lifting thru the trees, one completely forgets he's in a massive metropolitan area. With the beaches down the road, the mountains at your doorstep, it's the perfect retreat for a business traveller, and has became my go-to hotel for trips to L.A. The staff is always fantastic, friendly, helpful! September 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Location Though this Sheraton is an older property, they have made the effort to take good care of the facilities. The hotel was very clean, the staff was extremely friendly, free computer access in the lobby, and the beds were the absolute best of my entire trip. Stand out staff was Javier at the front desk - what a lovely smiling person. I love gracious service and he was top notch !! August 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very conveniently located. Great accommodating staff Have stayed at this location 4 or 5 times. Booked a block of rooms for Pepperdine Graduation in April 2012 and there is a nearby charitable corporate headquarters for which we get a special rate when we visit to do work with the organization. Great staff. There was a scheduling issue on our last visit and Loren and staff bent over backwards to fix the problem. Great location. July 17, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Getting run down The rooms are really starting to show their age - dirty carpets, cracked tiles and old ironing boards, April 25, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Extra charges? We have stayed at this Sheaton before. It seemed much nicer the first time. Probably will not stay again. The room we were in on this stay was cramped. There were 2 loud parties on our floor that went on until approximately 3 AM. Loud, drunk guests wandering the hallway. To top it off this hotel charges $10 for internet as well as a charge for breakfast. This is supposed to be a higher end hotel and yet all they seem to be is high end on the price and various fees. Much better accommodations elsewhere. July 14, 2014
