Rated 1 out of 5 by Bob39 Lacks basic business traveler needs
I stayed at this hotel on Sunday September 8th and Monday September 9th 2013. There were several TV channels that we not working properly. I along with several guests were shocked that the hotel didn't have ESPN for the Monday night football games. This is a basic for any football fan who is also a business traveler - and there are many of us. It was on in the bar but frankly that prevents a guest from being able to relax in the privacy of there own room for the game. Management has to be on top of issues like this and get them addressed immediately.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Business082013 Poor Staff Performance
I have been staying at this hotel consistently for the past 10 weeks. There was a change of staff/management 2 weeks ago and the stays have been quite poor.
The staff has been quite uncooperative and unresponsive and standard practices are not followed. Make a green choice requests were routinely forgotten. Staff at the front desk was not very accommodating during check-in. I will give them one more chance before moving to another chain within SPG.

I found having to use your room key in the eevator annoying. other guests, even staff tend to stand right in front of the key entry, and the light blue lights on the buttons were difficult to see, I never knew if each guest needed to use their key, I had an evtra ride 2 floors up once. It was also odd, I had 2 free bottles of water every day, others had 1, others none, even though they were SPG members. I didn't find the coupon for $5 off if the maids didn't make your room until I was checking the room as I was checking out and found in the nightstand drawer.

I am a SPG and have used this hotel for the past 6 years. This year the staff seemed unresponsive to simple requests, for example, the TV I'm our room did not work. Ut took over an hour for a repairman to come and he had to bring 3 different TV's to get one to work and then found out the original one worked but he did not have it connected correctly. We had a lamp beside the bedside that would not work. I reported it and asked for help and over our 4 day stay it was not repaired. We requested a split bill so I could pay personally for the last night, but after calling the hotel it took 3 repeated calls to get an e-mail correctly sent to me so I could complete a form for this. Each time I called (this was the day I checked out) the person at the desk seemed befuddled and asked me to slowly give them my e-mail address (the same person all 3 times). Our room was also cleaned at the very end of the day even though we requested an earlier clean-up and the maid in the hallway in front of our room said our room was to be cleaned by someone else and she had to call her. She came about an hour later at a time we couldn't let her in to clean. I had not experienced these problems previously and probably will not use this hotel in the future.

I once heard - Genuine kindness is no ordinary act, but a gift of rare beauty! That is how I would describe the kindness extended to me. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name; she has a BEAUTIFUL smile, long curly black hair and works in the executive offices. I don’t know how she knew I was diabetic and my sugar level was very low-she had me drink a glass of milk and stood right next to me. I was embarrassed all I remember was a young lady smiling at me and once she saw I was better she walked away as if nothing had happened. So please thank her for me!

In a the years of travel that I have done, this experience will stand out as one of the poorest. Confusion starded the check in process where the hotel couldt understand why I had 2 rooms. Why I was booked with 2 reservations for a suite is beyond me. then I was unable to make calls from my room. I had to call 0 everytime I needed to place a call and that was after many times being placed on hold by the operator befor I was even ever able to make a call out. The hotel, need senior management audit before they end up closing due to poor service

When I first opened the door to my room I found that someone else was already in it. This happened to 4 other members of our party. Food at our meetings ran out and was not replentished timely. A person was stuck in the elevator on 12 floor for a period of time. The bread for toast in the morning had mold. Could keep going.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mikeydidntlikeit Seminar Attendee
I was in town for seminar and your hotel was very convenient for that location. Seminar group told me that they had arranged special rates. Made reservation and found that all of those rooms were booked and had to take a more expensive room. Came to learn that only 2 of the participants at seminar stayed at your hotel..overbooked? I asked for a King bed and none available upon check-in. I was told that I had not requested one? OK. Needed a room anyway so I stayed. Coffee pot set up in middle of desk and no electrical outlets to plug in computer. I moved coffee pot to bathroom then moved TV/dresser to get better access to outlet that had been used by coffee pot to plug in computer. I have sleep apnia and use a Cpac machine. Again no outlets to plug anything in. I unplugged the only lamp and used that outlet. Pushed mattress for other bed out of way to get to outlet for that. I used light from television for room light with sound off. The bathroom light and exhaust fan are wired thought the same switch. Both on/Both off. The bathroom exhaust fan sounds like a single engine plane. I left the light/fan on to run down and get ice. With the doors closed I could still hear the fan from the elevator. I was in Rm 1106.
Shuttle service was arranged to go from hotel to seminar location morning/evening. we reminded desk of the arrangement because it appeared to be generally unknown (each day). Restaurant staff and Lounge (12 floor Members) were very pleasant and attentive.
Room was clean and bed (too short) was comfortable. Sheraton Club Members get comp internet access and coupon for breakfast buffet. All the clean room competition offers about the same thing. No great shakes.
One more thing. The shower head is too low. Sprays into my chest. To wash hair have to bend down pretty low. Maybe this would have been different in a room designed for someone taller than 5"8".
Really tough to say that I would recommend this hotel over another.

I will not hold an event here again until I know that they could control the temperature of the meeting space, quickly restock buffets so guest don't have to go without or wait 30 minutes, and provide better overall service.

the person that signed us up didn't bother to explain about the key had to be inserted in order to get to the 12 th floor, actually other customers showed u how. and when we got there with our luggage the maid was just starting to clean the room, no one told us it wasn't ready ?, really, waited 15 min and got tired and went downstairs asked for the mgr. but all he said oh sorry for the error, thats it? didnt bother to offer anything for us for 2 errors......

Rated 5 out of 5 Staff was friendly and helpful!
We took the shuttle to the airport at the end of our stay and my husband left his cell phone on the bus. I called the hotel and the person who spoke to me on the phone was extremely helpful and responded quickly and calmly. The shuttle driver found the phone and delivered it to us at the airport within half an hour of our calling. We really appreciate the quick response and happy ending to our self-made dilemma!
We enjoyed our stay, the food was excellent and the service was exemplary.

I was extremely dissatisfied with the fact that the tub did not drain. Unable to shower and the engineer never showed up to take care of it. The front desk manager started off on the defensive and I would not consider him to have Good Customer Service nor Good Hospitality Skills! I showed him a picture of the tub and can only hope they fixed the problem before allowing another guest in room 928. The worst thing to say to a guest is to acknowledge that the hotel you work for and service is simply OLD! He should have simply apologized for the inconvenience and offered to make amends, which he did not do to my satisfaction. I truly hope this message gets to your corporate office and not just into the hands of the same person that was uncaring, un-hospitable, and that obviously thinks poorly of the same Hotel he works for!

Rated 5 out of 5 by abaker10 Lovely hotel for a group function
My husband & I stayed in a Parlor room on Club Level in order to have a wine tasting gathering with 7 couples who were all coming in from out of town. The room was perfect for entertaining 14 people. Complete with comfortable lliving room style seating (sofa bed included), a dining table, wet bar and connecting king room -- we had everything we needed to make this party wonderful. The desk staff, housekeeping staff, happy hour amenities and staff, breakfast amenities and staff, restaurant, pool, bar, and airport shuttle/parking all combined to make our group stay here wonderful. I did have to communicate regularly with the desk all the way up to check-in to correct a few errors with my group's various reservations; but they were helpful and solved all problems to my high expectations. Upgrade to Club Level is well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JRH110 Convenient location
The fan in the bathroom was very noisy and has to be on when the bathroom light is on. It would be nice if either a quieter fan could be installed or if the switches could be separate so that if you don't need the fan you could just use the light. (e.g.. for putting makeup on.) Everything else was wonderful though--the food was great, business area and computers were nice and room was good. The pool and fitness center were excellent also.

Have stayed here before and always forget that it's not my SPG hotel of choice at DFW. The service here is really lacking with one notable exception--the lady who works the Club Lounge for breakfast who goes above and beyond the call. Front Desk couldn't care less and on a Monday Night--no ESPN working in the room--they told me to come down to the bar to watch football--what a bummer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Zoomie Disappointed from Denton
The room was comfortable and clean. Problem was with not enough parking for the many events happening at the hotel. With no valet parking, had to find parking spot off hotel property!
Also, came back from off-site event, had a drink in bar, ordered hamburger to go, had to ask manager for assistance because server was more consumed with flirting with other patrons. (We both are 60 plusers). This was about midnight. Took food back to room, consumed and ready for bed, except we could hear the band paying in the bar area. We were on the fifth floor, and could hear every note!! Called front desk to complain and was informed the band played until 2:00 am, and an "I'm sorry".
Will not recommend this hotel to others. My wife schedules meetings and events for her place of work in located in the DFW area, and made it very clear that she would not recommend this facility.

I have worked and stayed in hotels in almost 30 countries. I must say, that my room and the little details, like complimentary water, lighting, workspace, and all the amenities in the bathroom as well as the caliber of the bedding put this hotel in at least my top five nicest stays ever. I never turned on the huge flat panel TV though it was inviting. The parking lot was full to overflowing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lisa Misleading information - bad customer service
Do not assume that "sweet-sleeper bed" means a larger room with a sleeper sofa! I paid more to get that and it only means a special bed! I stayed at this hotel 1 year ago and the experience this time has gone down hill! Starting with the lack of help and then rude bell hop. The room did not have enough towels and I could never reach the front desk on the phone - I finally just went down to order some. Only one of the 2 phones even worked - if it was working and the front desk just never answered (who knows). Then breakfast (i went down about 8 AM)which was only for the 2 adults in room (not the children) - I was told there were no clean tables so just sit at this large table for 20 at one end. Unfortunately that was for a group that was already there, luckily an a friend had gotten there earlier and had a table so I could join them. I was later told the bus person didn't come in due to personal emergency.

The hotel was clean. Friendly staff that tried to accommodate all your needs. Food portions in the dinning facilities were plentiful.
Great hotel would highly recommend if you are in Dallas for business or pleasure. They have shuttle that will pick you up and take you to the airport. There are also local shuttle services the hotel provide.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Freddybear Worse experience ever!!!
As the assistant GM put it a "special group" was there the same time we were there. This group had unruly disrespectful kids called Rethinking Everything. I was asked if I wanted to get shot in the eye with a toy on one occasion, then another I was bombarded by 3 kids the elevator asking for change and was told my watch looks expensive if they could have it. I went to the front desk and was only told sorry they are a special group. Really?? So, I guess the non special people that paid their money to stay there meant NOTHING. Is the Sheraton that hard up for sales and money to allow any group to come in and take OVER their facility. Did I mention the flip flops, hand written Posters and blankets all over the floors in the LOBBY. The only peace was in our room. We didn't attempt to go to the restaurants or pools. These wild kids should have been separate from other guest and not allowed to move around the hotel unsupervised. Or the staff should have warned the other guest. We will NEVER stay at the Sheraton DFW Airport.

Everyone at the Sheraton DFW made me feel like I was the most important guest in the hotel. Their courtesy, professionalism and true hospitality are a shining example of "this is how real customer service works." My requests were met happily by every staffer I encountered. Particular thanks to Aneela (sp?) and Gabriel at the front desk.

We stayed at the Sheraton for a conference. The rooms were excellent, the customer service was excellent, the food in the restaurant was by far the best feature. Everything was so fresh and healthy. The only suggestion I would make is to get a few more computers for business travelers.

Anytime by bed sheets become untucked while I'm trying to sleep, my ability to rest soundly is disturbed. The was the case with my last visit.
The absolute very least that I expect is that my sheets will stay on the bed while I sleep and I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to try and fix the problem.
