Rated 4 out of 5 by Ger4 This hotel has a great location
Due to its close proximity to the Disney parks, I frequent this hotel often. I love the overall look of the hotel. The lobby area and grounds are beautifully kept, however the bathrooms are in need of updating and housekeeping is never great. Overall I would recommend this hotel to adults traveling to Disney whether it be for business or pleasure.

the room needing some attention. The shower drains couldnt keep up. the shower curtain stunk and could use cleaning. the sheets werent deep enough and kept coming off the matress. No vending machines available. The cost of a drink at the buffet was un believable. I will be better prepaired if my company comes again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tilau11 good value for the money
we stayed at the Dolphin for 4 nights over Thanksgiving holiday and found the accommodations adequate. The rooms are good size but the bathrooms are small, dark and with little amenities. The restaurants are great. It was very crowded (to be expected at this time of year), and they don't make much of SPG status like other resorts we've stayed at.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PLATINUMMEMBER25 STAFF UNSATISFACTORY
I am a PLATINUM member with SPG who had just stayed at the Dolphin for 2 nights on July 23-24. On the morning of checking out a family member was not feeling well so I called down and requested a late checkout. I explained the situation to the front desk and they would not give me a late check out. After explaining some more they only extended my checkout time by 1 hour. Because of how bad this service was and how sick the member of my family was we checkout of the hotel and went over to another Disney resort hotel and checked in for one night there. If I was granted a late check out that is normally offered to PLATINUM members I would have inquired with the front desk about extending my stay one more night if they had the availability. I find this to be a very poor way to treat paying costomers no matter what statues of membership they might have!!! Also it is now August 20 and I have still not received credit for my stay at this hotel!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Cindy67 Did not meet expectations
We had to request a working refrigerator 3 times. Also, a gift bag delivery was sent to the wrong room and the resolution was not acceptable until I pressed for room numbers. One day, we did not receive turn down service. Considering that my office expensed a total of 6 rooms, we did not receive any upgrades or added comfort to our stay.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ken2013 Service was abysmal and room was average
I am going to concentrate this review on the responsiveness of the staff. Three occasions I required the staff to assist me. 1) I locked my self out of me room (yes, that is my fault) but 30 minutes after speaking in person with the front desk and guest services via the phone on my floor was pretty bad. 2) The plug on the lamp on the desk was not working, I called desk services to have it fixed and an hour later I receive a vmail asking me if I was happy with the fix, however it was never fixed. 30 minutes later, someone showed up to fix. 3) On one day of my stay, my rooms was not serviced. I told the front desk in person at 7pm, returned from dinner at 8:10pm and it was still not serviced, call guest services and they said they would get right on it. 9:00 pm came and went and still no services, called Guest services again and 9:30 finally showed up.
Overall the responsiveness of the staff to issues that overall were not my fault was abysmal.

Rated 5 out of 5 Simply Amazing
I don't know where to begin. Everything about the Swan&Dolphin was amazing! The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, the facility was clean and inviting, the entire place was relaxing, inviting, and just... wow. There were children staying at the hotel, but we barely noticed! Perfect location for a relaxing vacation or romatic getaway!

we stayed for 2 nights. had slight problems with plumbing, but it was taking care of right away. staff was very helpful but i didn't like the fact, that housekeeping came to the room before 11:00am to clean the room. the food was amazing at the BlueZoo.and the place felt like we were on a business trip two many conventions not a vacation place.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Dolphin. The hotel offers the best beds and bedding on Disney property.
The location can't be beat being within walking distance to two parks. In addition, the Friendships boats and busses run frequently to the parks.
The Dolphin offers better value than the deluxe Disney hotels with many of the same perks.

I was put in 3012 at the Dolphin. Having unpacked, I checked the view which was of the loading dock behind the conference center. Had I not unpacked I would have demanded a room change. The noise is ridiculous at night and the light coming in just as bad. I could not open the curtains w/o being seen. This room should NOT be let to any guests.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cgattis Fantastic value
The Dolphin provides fabulous amenities--ultra comfy bedding, large rooms, amazing pool, variety of dining options, superb location/proximity to parks, transportation--at VERY competitive rates. Be warned--since our first stay, we've had trouble rationalizing staying anywhere else! Dolphin is just a great value for your Disney vacation dollar.

I stayed here last week on vacation. The hotel is in a great location, with boats taking you to Epcot or Hollywood Studios; you can also easily walk to these parks. The room was spacious and clean, and there are many restaurants at the Dolphin and Swan and also on the boardwalk. The staff were all very friendly. I highly recommend the Dolphin.

Overall, we had a great experience at The Dolphin. The resort is in an ideal location. The property is amazing. Staff was accomodating. From a physical standpoint, the hotel's furnishings and rooms are a bit tired, but the overall experience is worth it. A perfect place in the Disney complex when you need a day off from playing in the parks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sue54 This hotel needs to update
I checked in to this hotel Monday, March 11, 2013. The plan was for my husband to fly in on Thursday the 14th, and for me to be done with my conference on Friday the 15th of March.
When I checked in I mentioned that we would like to have the room I checked into on Monday be the room I stayed in until we checked out on March 18,2013.
I get to the room and find two double beds. This will not work as my husband and I prefer to sleep in the same bed. They pointed out that our personal reservation for the 15th-18th did not have a guarentee that we would get a king bed. When I made the reservation and selected king it made no reference this room was not available. Read the fine print. They can put you in a double room. Totally unacceptable.
They did switch us on Friday morning, however it was a hassle packing up and moving. All I can say is ehn I booked this reservation and paid a premium for it I would of never such shabby unprofessional treatment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JT1955 Okay stay
The hotel was a good value, but the rooms were plain and dull. The dining options were very good and especially enjoyed the BlueZoo. We were most bothered by the $14 internet/water charge. We were told of it at check in, but it was presented as an option, and we said "we don't need that". At check-out we were told it was an automatic charge.

Rated 2 out of 5 by AAACustomerReview Musty Smell
The Dolphin was musty smelling and a bit old and worn. It was not what we were expecting. The pool was overcrowded and we were not able to find a chaise that was free on most days. The food at the restaurants was not good. It was very Applebees. I am very disappointed with this hotel and restaurants. This is Disney not some cheap hotel.

Rated 2 out of 5 by jewelzy62 Not at our expectations
I was overcharged by 100.00 when I booked the room. was told we would have an upgrade to a suite, which was not done. The room we stayed in had a bathroom the size of a small closet. Not a walk in closet, and the sink and tub did not drain. The maid service was knocking at my door at 9 am wanted to know if we were leaving...not a good visit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Peeved2012 Very disappointed in this hotel
We have stayed at this hotel many times, but were recently very disappointed. We stay here because there are not tons of children running around wild. That was not the case this time. Had we known that "The Event" was being held at the property we would have stayed elsewhere. I feel that we should have been informed ahead of time about this.

Room was "OK". Clean and spacious but lack certain amenities like outlets to plug cell phones into at the bedside. Interestingly, lamps in the lobby had outlets but room lamps did not.
We thought that food and drink cost were very pricey. We could not recommend this location for a family nor someone who was concerned about meeting a budget.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kelli Great pools, food and location!
This was our first stay at the Dolphin. The Dolphin is a pretty hotel with a grand entrance. The rooms are nice. The pools are great. It's an easy walk to the Boardwalk with fun outside activities, and to Epcot. Getting to the other parks was fast and easy. We booked two adjoining rooms for six nights. We will stay there on next years trip.

Not your typical Starwood experience. Room was pretty filthy, staff pretty much ignored you, the only positive is that they extended my checkout so I wouldn't have to store my bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grandmakristi Fourth Food and Wine Classic
My daughter, Vicki, and I attended the Fourth Annual Food and Wine Classic at the Swan and Dolphin Hotels at Walt Disney World. Whenever staying at these hotels we are so pleased with all of the great people working there and how well we are taken care of.
We were not disappointed, Tony Porcellini (Director of Food and Beverage for Swan and Dolphin) and his crew outdid themselves again! The weather was great and the causeway, although crowded, was delightful! There seem to be more booths each year and the food and wine were wonderful.
We arrived on Thursday and had a delicious dinner in bluezoo. Chad Lobner, General Manager of bluezoo, and his crew there took great care of us and we were very happy to see Erik Rolfson, who has advanced to General Manager of the Cabana Bar and Beach Club and Splash Terrace since our last meeting. My husband and I first met Erik at the First Classic in 2010. We have seen him several times since then, and he is always so nice and helpful – a really good ambassador for the Swan and Dolphin.
Vicki and I had manicures at the Mandara Spa and would highly recommend their services. Great value and pampering by our manicurists, Carmen and Adelina.
On Friday we were supposed to attend the Wine Blending Seminar and the Riesling Seminar on Saturday. While we were waiting to be seated for the Wine Seminar, we were chatting with Chad Lobner, and mentioned to him that we would be taking the Riesling Seminar the next day. He mentioned that he had heard that it was canceled for Saturday and would find out for sure. He contacted Luciano Sperduto, Asst. Director of Food and Beverage, who confirmed there would be no Riesling Seminar the next day. Through the combined efforts of Chad, Luciano and Tony, my daughter and I were able to attend Friday’s Riesling Seminar and Saturday’s Wine Blending. Our thanks to these great guys!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Georgia This hotel is very accomodating.
My concern is that after the 2nd night when the cleaning staff came the next day, 3/10/13, our blanket was missing. We noticed it Sunday evening but never found the blanket, not even the next day when we packed up to leave. I called the hotel and nothing was noted. I left a message for lost and found/security but have not been called back.

Our stay at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort was better than we could have planned for. The staff was exemplarary, the entire facility was clean and well-maintained. Our needs were met immediately and, I have to say it again... the staff was amazing. They made certain we had everything we needed to make our stay as relaxing as possible.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Finz Amenities were great, hotel not so much
Plenty of things to do at the pool area...impressive. Could have been cleaner, at the opening of the pool I the morning, were straws and cups left over on the ground from the night before. The hotel itself was lacking...room was semi clean, bathroom was kind of nasty. Decor was extremely dated. I wouldn't stay again, unfortunately.

The resort ...overall ... very nice. But was not happy with thoroughness of housekeeping. Never emptied ice bucket. Never took away dirty glasses. Also have never seen such a small bathroom. Literally the door opened against the tub. Outside bathtub/toilet area was sink and vanity. No problem with that but why no door at all on that area?

Aside from this being an amazing hotel, I must rave about Shula's Steakhouse that is inside of the hotel. I have never received better service, and was treated like a queen! My waiter, Perry was exceptional. If you are looking for excellent quality in food and service, this is the place to go! A+++

Rated 4 out of 5 by brent70 Humidity Issues
I have stayed at both the Swan and the Dolphin and have run into the room being damp on both occasions. We stayed in the Swan during the month of July and the Dolphin in January. Probably a battle that is fought often in this region and with the age of the hotel, but there should be some plans to dehumidify the property on a large scale.

From start to finish every interaction and contact with a staff person was totally wonderful. All facilities and services are spectacular from front desk to restaurants and health club. I only have one suggestion for improvement and that would be to increase the wattage of the light in the bathroom because it was a little dark to shave.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Figaro Great location
The location is worth the stay as are the facilities. Stayed at the Executive Suite - toilet didn't flush (got it fixed), both phones didn't work (told to use Line 2), bathtub didn't drain, kitchen sink didn't drain, fridge didn't cool anything. But the pools were great and the food wonderful. Was a pleasant stay overall and great value.
