Overall the stay was excellent. Brian, the Guest Services Supervisor, Rene, Club Level Associate and Kenyada, the early morning Guest Service Agent who heled with my departure. These individuals were all great!
My only constructive criticism is the room temperature never got cooler then 70 degrees. I ended up requesting a fan which thy brought up within 15 minutes

WE really enjoyed our stay here. We are in Chicago frequently. In fact, we were at another hotel earlier in the week for a conference. We like this Sheraton. It is very busy but they handle it well. All the employees we encountered were excellent.
Chicago has it all and the Sheraton is in a perfect location.

This was the second stay at Sheraton Chicago and the last for me. Valet service misplace my car twice and I still had to pay the $58 fee. Average hotel for premium price.

We arrived at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in Chicago at 10AM and our room was ready upon arrival which was nice! Everyone was extremely kind and the manager, Madeline, even spoke with our teens and treated them with respect. They were cleaning the parking garage so there was slight confusion over parking but the parking garage manager immediately took care of everything. He comp'd us valet parking at self parking rates. It was our first time staying in a club room and we found it well worth the extra charge.

This hotel is situated on the Chicago River...a perfect location. The hotel was bustling but all staff from the front desk to the concierge took time to handle our needs.
The price was great and overall, just a fine stay. We will be back.

Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only negative comment I would have is the terrible pillows in the room, very uncomfortable.

We went to Chicago in July 2013 to celebrate our daughter's birthday. While checking in, our daughter mentioned to Torre, the hotel receptionist, that it was her birthday. Torre immediately went above and beyond in making our daughter and family feel special. Thank you!

Hotel check in was smooth and the front desk person was very nice. It went downhill very fast from there. Room carpeting was stained and dirty. False fingernails on floor in front of loveseat. Hair in the bathtub and on bathroom floor. Coffee service the next morning arrived on time but not even hot. The sheets were not changed and clean up and restock was dismal. The hallways were dark, cold and there was a dirty room service tray out in the hallway for two days. The only upside was the location and the bed was very comfortable.

Different messages each day .
AARP Rate was EXCELLENT Check in SMOOTH AND HELPFUL and early ...very well done...front desk helped me with starwood preferred guest number... organized a late check out for my last (5th) day in the hotel....THEN....... first two days....room service dishes never removed from the hallways until I mentioned it ....they did offer me some points on my account but I just wanted to let them know there cleaning system was not working ... I had two packages sent and tracking said they had arrived.... had to go back and forth 3-4 times between front desk and Fed Ex office to find where they were....always found but with lots of effort and always found where someone said "no there is no package for you ' ....then check out day and I went down to confirm I had the 4pm check out indicated at check in and the front desk agent said no... ??? Different stories from different staff it seemed like each day ...... Very disappointed...would not stay here again and really question staying in sheraton again ???

Rated 1 out of 5 by NYCBusiness $200 for a 50min phone call to New York and $50 for 2 eggs and toast
The hotel was average, the staff were mostly helpful, but what I thought was ridiculous was the $200 charge for a phone call I made to a different state. IN addition I ordered 2 poached eggs and 2 slices of brown toast to my room and it ended up costing $50. Extremely overpriced and when I questioned the phone bill the front desk was totally unhelpful, asked me to speak to accounts, then accounts were unable to take my call so I had to leave a voicemail. I can say for sure that I will never stay here again on my business trips.

The facilities and staff were great. However, for the price, one would expect that simple amenities like WiFi would be included. Seems petty to me.

I have stayed at this hotel several times - however, this was a special occasion. David - the front desk supervisor was very courteous and professional - following up with me a couple of times on my special request. My room and the view were fantastic. I appreciate the SPG platinum recognition from David and the front desk staff. Housekeeping also very courteous and efficient. I will stay at this hotel when I am in Chicago again this August.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dgfriend We like to stay in this hotel when we visit Chicago.
This hotel provided us with an especially congenial experience during a recent visit to Chicago. First of all, the location of the hotel was optimal. We were able to walk to our hotel from Union Station after having arrived in the city on Amtrak. (Our luggage as is commonly the case these days, has wheels.) The weather was comfortable for walking in the July late morning, a Saturday. It was a repeat visit for us as guests in the hotel. We checked our bags in the lobby while we went out for lunch, returning thereafter to complete our check in. The hotel lived up to our expectations with regard to cleanliness, prompt, friendly service, and overall quality; our room was spacious and had a great view of the city. We used room service Sunday morning for breakfast. The staff brought us our meal on time-- it elegantly arrived on a table for two on wheels! We were able to watch the British Open golf tournament while we breakfasted in the privacy of our room. That afternoon we were once again able to take advantage of the great location, walking back to our hotel after attending memorial services in Old Town; participation in those services having been the primary purpose of our trip. Early Monday morning we walked to Union Station to catch our train home. The weather cooperated marvelously, and my husband and I were able to enjoy one of the best features of city life, walking to and from our destinations. Aside from pleasures that derive from the people-watching and the spectacle of the Chicago architecture, the walks served the dual purpose of necessary, frugal transportation from "A" to "B" plus needed exercise. Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers played a starring role in the high quality of our two-day-visit to Chicago!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BigEd1954 Front desk staff - amazing!
I rarely take the time to call out an excellent front desk clerk because I travel all week long and expect good service. When I checked into this hotel, the clerk who helped me went way out of her way to make me feel comfortable and appreciated, and I needed it after a long, long, long day of air travel. Fantastic customer service and I would definitely stay at this property again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bride0707 Brides - Don't use this hotel!
As a bride-to-be, I was hoping for a great experience which is why I went with a SPG property. I have been a loyal SPG guest for over 5 years. However, the Sheraton Chicago was a disappointment for many reasons: the staff was not nice to my guests or me during booking the rooms, the person assigned to my block was not responsive, different staff members told me different information about costs associated with the rooms, they confused the booking options leaving many of my guests going elsewhere even though my block was NOT full, the staff helping our parents try to host events in their suites was hard to get not responsive, check in was a nightmare (over an hour wait), staff that was unable to answer basic questions (such as if my room was still free the night of the wedding as promised), staff that was extremely rude in the concierge lounge, incorrect charges on my bill that were difficult to get removed... the list goes on and on. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed as it was supposed to be a great experience as a bride. However, more than that, I am embarrassed because I encouraged my guests to stay at your hotel only to be treated rudely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by neveragain072513 Arrogant staff, mediocre rooms, overpriced.
This hotel has a beautiful lobby, but somewhat dated and shabby rooms. The staff are pleasant, but not inclined to go out of their way to help much. Our room key didn't work properly -- you'd have to try it over and over, maybe 15 or 20 times before it would work. We replaced the keys twice, same problem. They said they'd get someone right on it, but it never happened.

Service level fits a much less expensive hotel. Large, convention hotel yet the 2 restaurants are an overpriced steakhouse and a small hamburger cafeteria. FOX News - yes; MSNBC-no. Always a turn-off. The room was dark and the bathroom lighting was weak as well. My final invoice listed a higher nightly rate than my confirmation. Was anything terrible? No. Just sub-par. Very.

Rated 4 out of 5 by snowpipi Great Family Hotel
Overall, this is a GREAT family hotel. We had a little girl who is almost 3 years old, and she loved the swimming pool, and the big lobby. The only downside we ran into is the late check in. Apparently the rooms are ALL sold out previous day, so when we arrived at 2pm, there is no open room available. We were put on the waiting list, and the front desk said he will call when the room becomes available. But we didn't get any phone calls. Eventually, we went to the front desk again at 4pm, we got a room. Wish there is a better way to alert the front desk to notify the guest when the room is available. My daughter got crunky since it is way pass her nap time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MrsN Why make reservations?
My company had booked a conference months ago but yet when I arrived, I was informed that the bed I booked wasn't available. Then, they stated they would call me the next day as they were certain MY request would be available the next day. I never got a phone call and when I inquired again about the bed I requested, they told me it was "first come first served". Why the heck are reservations REQUIRED then? To make up for the bed issue, they stated I was put in the newly renovated side of the hotel. Hardly. The room was straight out of the 70s. The bathroom shower faucet leaked so that when you took a shower you had to make sure you didn't leave anything on the counter or it would get soaked. Then the iron didn't work. Overall, AWFUL experience. Overpriced and DEFINITELY under whelmed with their hotel. Would NOT book there again.

Hotel is in a great location, lots of places to eat and drink at within minutes. Room was clean and comfortable, was checked in within minutes of arriving. Only downside is drinking wine at the hotel, very expensive but it's expected. I would stay here again.

Best stay I've had. I felt secure, cared for and important. There was not a single person on staff, from the bell hops to the checkout process, that didn't remember my name after meeting only once! I will stay there again on my next trip to Chicago!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Richard65 Great location but...
Great downtown location and room/bed very comfortable. However, as an SPG Gold member my wife and I always enjoyed the 2 20oz bottled water we've always received at other Sheraton's. I thought that the food vending and stocked fridge with overpriced itmes was unnecessary and should be eliminated from the amenities of this luxury room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Duluth Great SPG desk service!
Hi SPG: we stayed at this hotel for a tournament my son attended at Navy Pier. While we arrived early, the gentlemen who checked us in (forgive me for not having his name, but it was approximately 11am on Friday July 12) was extremely helpful in securing a room for us on the Club level, and for informing me when it was ready.
Usually a bit of a wait is a pain, but the way this was handled was thoroughly professional, and truly appreciated.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed123456 New A/C policy is a bad idea
Apparently the new thermostats only trigger the A/C when you are in the room - motion sensor. So even when you are there and asleep, the room gets uncomfortably hot. Fortunately, I called and a very helpful engineer switched my room to "VIP mode" (his words). Since when do you have to be a VIP to get simple A/C in your room. This hotel is not that great to begin with. Won't return if I can help it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by fmd2 additional fees
I did not feel it appropriate to be charged for mking calls to an 800 number, the hotel does not pay for it. In addition it irks me that these large expensive hotels charge for internet access while lower level hotels do not and they are cheaper. On a bright note, I was not charged to use the gym which many hotels do
