Rated 5 out of 5 by One night business stay This hotel is in a great location. Walking distance (about a mile) to financial district. Even closer to some after work activities , walking distance to the Navy Pier, and a residential neighborhood with several excellent local restaurants. Also has a movie theatre, bowling alley and pharmacy within 1 block away. August 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great experience We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton very much! The location, the view, the service, the friendliness of the staff, and the value were all exceptional. August 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location and accommodations The location of this hotel was perfect for where we wanted to be. The registration desk took care of me and asked if we needed anything else to make stay better. The accommodations were great too. Clean room, big lobby area and common area was lively. Only improvement could be to provide more bar staff at night when there are big events going on, in and around the hotel. Great place to stay. August 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 5days in Chicago welcome at front desk was very good and very helpful, fulfilled my request of a room with a view of the lake and river, the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed ever, convenient for shopping, sightseeing, restaurants, tours, everything really, the fitness room and pool area where very good facilities. Rated 3 out of 5 by okay hotel experience This was my 2nd time staying at this hotel. First time was 6 years ago. I chose this hotel due to its location for a girls' weekend. It's within walking distance to the park, mag mile shopping and bar hopping on hubbard street. The staff at check-in was extremely friendly and accommodating putting 3 rooms all on the 26th floor, however, we had to ask THREE times with several hours in between for our room to be serviced on a particular day. The room was an average room. The bed sheets and mattress was not the most comfortable but it wasn't horrible. I just expect more from the Sheraton. The bathroom also had a hint of a moldy smell...not sure if it was cleaning solution or actual mold/mildew. We had breakfast at the restaurant was okay. Nothing to rave about except that it was convenient. The hotel is situated right next to the river with nice sitting areas along the way. I wouldn't say this would be my first choice for my next trip to Chicago. If there wasn't anything else around the area, I would probably stay here again. It's not a bad hotel, just not the greatest. Rated 1 out of 5 by This hotel needs improvement in service, immediately When i entered room - it was clear that it had not been cleaned. Shampoo bottles, hair dryers, cups strewned across the floor. bed poorly made-- wrinkled as if slept in. I called to ask that someone come up and clean it. No one came. So after an hour i went down to front desk and then they sent someone to clean. Yet- still not cleaned well- open soap left in shower and near sink which i then threw out; bed still poorly made. Honestly - i have never gone to a hotel where room not cleaned and then complaint not dealt with right away and then still done sloppily. Unless this changes, i would not recommend this hotel to anyone. July 24, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Maid Service I came back into my room after being gone all day. My room had been somewhat cleaned, but i was apparent someone had been laying in my bed on the right side. Three pillows were stacked against the headboard and the sheets were pulled back like someone had been sitting there. I don't sleep on that side of the bed due to a bad shoulder. I called and asked to speak to tthe manager that day and no response. i called the next morning and connected with a manager and she sent security to look at the door access records. No one but the mae had come in. It was concerning since the managers shrugged it off and did not address the larger issue. December 5, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Executive Club lacks choices Two days in a raw the Club ran out of yogurt, For afternoon snakes they had very limited/poor options. August 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staple stay We stay here every year and it never disappoints. Best location for lolla. Special recognition to the professional staff member who checked us in. She was exceptional. Although we had to wait for our room a bit longer than we wanted the upgrade was well worth it. Love the club lounge. August 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This hotel kept our room clean We asked for a discount because we were there with the horse races in Arlington. We always get a discount at our hotels and they would not give us one. That was frustrating. Other than that the staff was friendly. The rooms were nice. August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Service My family and I had a great stay at the Sheraton this past weekend. The SPG Rep, Isaiah, was extremely courteous and helpful. We travel a lot and this Sheraton is definitely our favorite. August 4, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Bad hotel room They gave us a room that connecting to another room. We could hear people talking next room clearly. It is so uncomfortable. The bathroom has only the sink, no vanity. There is no place to put your shaver, toothbrush, etc. August 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by amazing service for a giant hotel this place is huge.. but despite its convention-hotel size, the star was attentive, friendly and very willing to please-- even on a crazy full weekend. August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by New favorite choice in Chicago Great location and facilities. August 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good features, but items to improve Although this was a comfortable stay for 3 nights (Sheraton Downtown Chicago), and view of river was great, a couple issues were of concern. First the wetbar/fridge. If you take out items, they charge you by weight of items removed in that position. We were not aware of this. And removed items to make way for our own refrigerated items. Room had no fridge space for your own personal use. Our bill was loaded with charges at checkout for items we did not use - we put them back before leaving. Second, we lost money in the soda machine in the garage when picking up our vehicle. The person at the desk said we had to go back to the lobby to complain and get our money back. I feel they should re-imburse and report it themselves (the clerk at the garage desk). Overall it was a comfortable stay, but watch for unexpected charges at checkout. July 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Review 1. Rooms average. Stayed in 951. 2. Hallways seem worn. 3. Excellent lobby. 4. Convenient location. August 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice facilities The Sheraton has a large number of food choices right in the hotel and sits on the river. The hotel is within walking distance to many local sights, tours, shopping, restaurants, etc. I would definitely stay again. We stayed on the Club level floor with access to the Club lounge which has good service for continental breakfast and evening snacks. There is a nice view of the river looking out to Trump tower. My only disappointment was my room. I was right next to the stairs, so my room was a weird shape with a long hallway and seemed more cramped. It did have a wonderful view of the lake and Navy Pier. Rated 5 out of 5 by A Very Nice Hotel Great location, great sleep and great food. The location provides access to all Chicago attractions including trolleys, river boats and especially Michigan Avenue where you can shop until you drop. The rooms are quiet and allow you to get rest. The hotel offers a great steakhouse for dinner and smaller venues for breakfast. All in all, a very nice hotel. August 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very professional From arriving at the hotel and being greated by the doormen, to the the registration desk, etc. Everyone was very curteous and responsive to any questions. Staff throughout the facility made a point of asking if you needed any assistance. Rooms were stellar and quiet. I would highly recommend the hotel. August 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A part of Chicago you will love Great location. Courteous and friendly staff August 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Hotel did not meet my expectations Unfortunately, I don't have any positive comments. I didn't feel as if my room was properly cleaned during my entire 4 day stay. I expressed a concern regarding the hotel housekeeper who knocked twice and then attempted to enter the room at 8:00 AM. When I notified the front desk person, he said - "Sorry that happened. Would you like a copy of your bill?". That's it! July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the location!! This is one of my most favorite hotels. Beautiful property that is so well located. Close to everything you'd want to do in Chicago. Staff are helpful and friendly as well. August 1, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Interesting My trip started with a red eye. I know there is no guarantee of an early room or for adjoining rooms. We arrived and I was told the house keepers were union, so they would clean at their own rate. I checked back 3 times and was told the room was not ready. At 3:10pm(check in posted 3pm) I was told there still wasn't a room and the room they had planned for us was still not cleaned. Then she found a room and I said, "I'll take it". That was followed by, "oh, wait, I'm sorry that room is not available it is for a preferred guest and is an adjoining room". I said, "it was my understanding adjoining rooms were not guaranteed". Again I was told, "it was for a preferred guest." I took the room available, which ALSO HAPPENED TO BE AN ADJOINING ROOM!!!! I was charged for beverages not consumed from the "mini bar". That was credited as well as a credit for the inconvenience. We made the decision to start staying with Sheraton as we had a FABULOUS experience in Anaheim. I enjoyed Chicago and it did not affect our trip, it was simply disappointing. July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff is outstanding My experiences at the Sheraton Downtown Chicago have generally been excellent. The primary reason for this is the staff, from the reception to housekeeping to maintenance to the concierge to the club lounge reception--all are trained in providing warm hospitality and excellent customer service. For example, I needed my shoes shined for a dinner engagement. I simply asked, and it was done. Extra towels? No problem. Directions? There were maps, suggestions, and taxis waiting. The weather getting stormy? Umbrellas are available. I appreciated the attention to details that were evident in the rooms, lobby areas, and dining facilities and lounges. May 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel has a great location Great location, staff, accommodations. Best Sheraton that I have stayed in. Loved being on the Chicago Riverwalk. The staff was very accommodating and the room very comfortable. Loved the Club Level. July 10, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Business travelers hotel As a local Chicagoan We did not love our stay here. The responsiveness for housekeeping service or maintenance is very slow. We had a shower that didn't properly drain within an hour of checking in we called. They gave us a $100 credit for the inconvenience but never sent anyone up to unclog the tub. We finally called 24 hours later and waited over an hour for someone to come up. The waiting time for cabs is inconvenient. There is no cab line. The bellman was ringing his whistles but the location of the hotel doesn't provide for cabbies to hear him as we couldn't see any nearby. We ended up walking everywhere as a result. If you are using a taxi for the airport you could wait 30 minutes for a taxi. This hotel is huge, the workout facility and views are great. Its close to navy pier and you can walk to Michigan Avenue. Its very bustling and the restaurants are good. July 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 2nd Outstanding Stay this month The staff and management go above and beyond at this Sheraton. They made sure this stay went smooth from start to finish. The club lounge was awesome, the only slightly irritating thing is the card you fill out is a bit tacky- the card appears to solicit a tip and nothing more than that. The location is wonderful, as you can walk to all the shopping, navy pier, and millennium park,. This is one of the best locations in town! August 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Repeat Guests This was our thrid stay with this Sheraton and we had a great experience! Great location, comfy room with a wonderful view and as always the staff was a pleasure to deal with. We bring our dogs often and this is now our go-to hotel for Chicago stays, very dog friendly hotel and we will be staying here exclusively from now on!! Thanks! July 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Okay Hotel was ok. There is construction going on at the front entrance area. The park across the street has a good amount of homeless people. I've stayed at the Sheraton in Carlsbad, which was much nicer and better maintained. Our room had not been used in a while. The desk and counters were dusty. The shower tile grout was black. The shower rod is rusted as well. The entrance light was not working and the toilet bowl was dirty. When I checked out I was asked if I lifted any of the refreshments. My husband and I both said no. He asked again if we were sure and I said no again. He asked again and I said maybe my son lifted a soda and he said "that's exactly what I'm asking if it was lifted, I'm not accusing you of drinking it." He said it in a rude way. When I was in the plane I looked at my check out bill and we were charged $6.50 for pringles chips. We didn't eat them or drink any of the refreshments. The gym was great. The pool was ok. I don't think the pool area is cleaned as frequently as it should be. Probably only at the end of the day. There were towels everywhere and the furniture was everywhere. July 30, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Support staff undoes the quality of service the unresponsiveness of the accounting department to my inquiries for payment led to other issues with check in and check out. When checking out, even though accounts were paid in full, members of my delegation were assessed a credit charge against their account. I would hope that this is an anomaly in your customer service but it is a fact that remains not becoming of an organization that is specifically about customer service. July 27, 2014
