Rated 5 out of 5 by Romelle Great room
My room on the 8th floor was amazing & my night skyline view was beautiful. Oh and the cafe/Bar food & service was fantastic.. . However, the path leading from parking was not the safest during the construction work. I was almost hit walking from the parking lot to hotel because of low lighting & obstruction wall. As a Courtesy to future customers, parking should be half priced or comped during construction.. :-)

I have stayed at alot of hotels and I must say that this one is one of the best. The staff was wonderful, the food terrific and the room was perfect.
Even being close to the airport turned out to be something special as we watch the planes take off and land. I would absolutely recommend this property to everyone I know who is going to San Diego, business or pleasure.
Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JBOH2011 Difficult stay, but I would recommend this place
I have stayed at this hotel a few times and would recommend it to others. It has absolutely beautiful views and of course is next door to the airport.
This stay was a little dissappointing. Room not cleaned very well, food stain in carpet in center of room. Coffee maker, but no coffee - not good with my 4:30 AM "rise and shine". Also, no hot water! ! Let it run about 10 minutes and finally gave up and took a cold shower - which solved the waking up problem...
Having said the above, I would still recommend this hotel. My prior stays were without issue and the staff at this place are just superb! The views are spectacular and it is 2-3 minutes from the airport.

We stayed for the Memorial Day weekend and all was great. The BLT Bar & Grill onsite was great for dinner and the views to the San Diego Harbor were as good as any restaurant along the harbor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JCASE Great Location & Facilities
Have stayed here numerous times. Great location. Gas Lamp District right down the road, short cab ride. Also close to Little Italy. Hotel has something for everyone. Pools, Quinns Bar, business environment, and most of all great staff. No hotel is always perfect but when there are minor problems they bend over backwards to try and make it right. Rates are very competitive for the area.

Everything fine, except we made the reservation 3 months early and requested bay side view. Got marina view. Since it was a staycation, we could easily have rescheduled for a different date had we known no bay side room was available. Missed the fireworks on the bay, being on the wrong side. There should be a way to let us know when we are not going to get a request.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chris7679 Great location and service
This was a super location for our son's wedding group. It was close to the airport and the views were spectacular, especially on the bay side (Bay Tower). Room was very comfortable, loved sitting on the balcony and watching the boating activity. Sue (guest services?)was wonderful and made sure everything was perfect. We will definitely return and recommend!

I viewed several hotels in the San diego area, but this one met my needs. It had a great view of the bay & my wife also complimented me on the location as well as the view. The staff @ check-in made it very easy & fast. I will put this hotel in my phone as a future reference. Good place to lay your head & enjoy the view.

I wish to acknowledge the reservation desk attendant, Angelica, was very supportive to my concerns and helped make our stay here very pleasant. It was nice to know that upon arrival at the hotel she was there and made us feel welcome.
The hotel is fortunate to have Angelica as an employee.

This is my favorite hotel in San Diego. It is close to the airport, with great views and outstanding employees. The food is great and the ambiance makes one feel comfortable and important. As a platinum member I always get upgraded and the concierge lounge is a great place to relax.

I was at this hotel for a conference through work. The hotel was very clean and nice. I felt valued and appreciated. The pools were accessible although it was too cold to swim, but they do have an outdoor heated pool. Beds were very comfortable to sleep in. Have no complaints.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Marie11 Highly Disapointing
I was incredibly disappointed with my stay. While the room was nice and clean there were two large issues that I felt were not up to the standards of a Sheraton Hotel.
1) Parking was $22 and they made you park in a dirt lot. The next morning my car was completely filthy from the dust.
2) The Mini Bar did not come with a price list. I went to the front desk and asked for one and was told one would be sent up. I was then called and told that they normally have them in the rooms but there were no spare ones available at the moment because the people who handle the mini bar were not there in the evenings (and apparently the staff weren't able to open up a single other room and get one?). The prices on the mini bar were outrageously high and I feel that the refusal to provide a price list was incredibly dishonest.
I will not be returning to a Sheraton in the future because I don't want to have to take my car to a car wash right after I pay $22 in parking and I didn't like being lied to about the mini bar price list.

We stay at the Sheraton on Harbor Island at least 3 times a year and it never disappoints. The views from our room are spectacular. The staff is always helpful and pleasant. The only bummer is, we have had trouble with our keys to our room and to enter and exit the parking lot. The staff resolves the issue for us quickly and we are on our way. I would recommend this hotel for anyone that wants a pretty place to have fun with your family and friends

Rated 3 out of 5 by KART254 One of Our Rare Sheraton Disappointments
We stay in Sheratons about a dozen times a year and are generally quite satisfied with everything about our stays. This was one of the rare exceptions. On the plus side, the location and views are incomparable. The lobby is beautiful, the bars and restaurants were good, the beds comfortable. Now, the negatives. Our reservation specifically asked for the Bay Tower and they did not inform us until we arrived that it was unavailable. Check-in was hampered by a clerk with barely understandable English. There is no wireless in the rooms - inconceivable in this day & age that you have to be tethered to the desk to access the internet. There were cigarette butts, matches, and ashes on the balcony. The toilet did not have enough pressure to flush completely - necessitating a search for a lobby bathroom in the morning. (We know plumbing problems can happen, but this should have been reported by housekeeeping and fixed before we checked in.) The upholstered chair and ottoman were stained. All in all, not anywhere near the premium price we paid.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Steve6106 Poor shuttle service and the place is a dump.
So many places to visit and the only place the shuttle would take you is the airport. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was poor. The current management is letting this place slip into disrepair, which is to bad. Trash in the elevators and hallways. I mean literally there was trash from a trash can dumped in the elevator.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BrideAndGroom Unprofessional Event Staff
We had booked an appointment with Stephanie Ridgeway, the Senior Catering Sales manager last Friday to view the property as a potential wedding site. Since we were coming from Canada and only in San Diego for a couple days, we had made this appointment 2 months in advance.
When we arrived, Stephanie was not in the office, and we were told that she had "gone home". She had not delegated our appointment to anyone else or called us to reschedule. We were asked to wait for 15 minutes to see if they could find anyone else, and were given excuses instead of an apology.
Fortunately Ben Schulze stopped what he was doing and gave us a spectacular tour of the venue, and answered all of our questions. We loved the property for a wedding, but despite this, and Ben's wonderful professional attitude, we were still left feeling neglected by Stephanie's actions and the way we were treated when we arrived until Ben took over.
We still have not received a phone call or even an email from Stephanie apologizing for missing our appointment. We found this incredibly unprofessional, and felt like we are just a replaceable number to SPG, and it didn't matter if we chose to have our wedding there as they could just fill the slot with someone else. For this reason we have chosen not to book our wedding at the Sheraton, which is really too bad as we have over 200 guests, 80% of which would be staying at the hotel from out of town which would have been very convenient. We don't want our guests to experience SPG's lack of professionalism - so we will not even be offering this as an alternative place to stay for our out of town guests.
Moral of the story, if you are thinking about booking a wedding here, ask for Ben and not Stephanie. It really is a lovely hotel, and wedding site - they just need to reevaluate the work ethic and professionalism of their staff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mayflower12 Issues with shower
Everything in the hotel was good except the service I received when I had no water in my shower. As a result I was late to a meeting. What was offered at that time were two bottles of water which I did not need as I was a club member. At check out the receptionist said she awarded me 2500 points when I complained of the service.
Overall the water pressure was low.
I did not have water in my shower one evening and the engineer came to fix it but could not. It took them 30 minutes and a few phone calls to find me a room to shower and it ended up being on the first floor of another wing which was quite inconvenient but the bell boy was courteous enought to take me to the location.

I checked my husband and I in for his 57th birthday weekend getaway. We loved the hotel and everyone was so helpful and kind.
We had an awesome view overlooking the harbor and city lights at night from our balcony. The $1.00 shuttle is fantastic! We didn't even move our car. My only suggestion is that the checkout personnel ask if your car is in self-park before you complete check out.
We could not exit the parking lot and had to walk back up and wait in line again to get issued a new key to get out of the gated parking lot. Other than that everything was exceptional. Loved the Club lounge breakfast and appetizers. Anthony was a superb help in the lounge. Thanks for everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Acura818 Harbor View was spectacular
Hotel is conveniently located and has terrific views from the rooms. Service was first class and friendly.
Gift shop had what we needed and prices were reasonable.
Nearly everything about staying here lived up to expectations, but there are 2 things that were less than perfect:
1. Had to pay for parking. The only options are self-park for a fee or valet parking for a higher fee. The parking lot was close to the entrance.
2. There were 2 elevators by our entrance and 1 was out of service for the 2 days we were there. Could happen anywhere, but it happened here with no warning and no apologies. A complimentary something would have been nice.
Altogether a superb place to stay.

I didn't know Rooms without Wifi even existed anymore--especially at a large SHeraton near an airport.
Service was totally mediocre. Phones never answered.
Not what I expect from a top SPG hotel!

Great location and nice pool area but that's not enough. For the prices of the food I sure expected better. Our room was nothing special, just avarage, so no I wouldn't recommend or return. And to top it off I had call because in my statement I was charged for services I didn't have.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SPG2001 BAD guest service
After a long business meeting in downtown San Diego, I moved to this airport hotel in order to do some work next day morning before catching an early afternoon flight. Everything was OK until the second day:
1) Before 8:00 am, the housekeeping knocked my door to see if I have checked out. So I called the guest service for a late check (platinum member).
2) Came back from breakfast, try to do some wok but could not find any internet cable/connector in the room, nor wireless signal. Called the guest service and was told someone will deliver the cable connector. 15 min later, someone knocked the door, it is the housekeeping again who can NOT wait to clean my room for next guest, even though I already requested the late checkout.
3) Waited for 30 min and no cable delivered, called guest service and was told the maintenance team is working on other room and will service my room next. She suggested me to use lobby free wireless instead.
4) Wait a little more, and forced to went down lobby area to get online. Not easy to do work without the mouse and a working area. The internet connection resets every hour and it resets when attaching reports to my email.
5) After one and half hour, went back to room. Still no cable delivered.

Rated 1 out of 5 by EJH4 Poor Customer Service & Bad Housekeeping
My husband & I booked our room for our stay over after returning from Hawaii because we live 3 hours from SD. Our flight was delayed 3 hours which put us in at 1 am, past the hotel shuttle pick up time. We were told to call them & someone would pick us up. We called three times and waited an hour before the front desk person Terri told us no one was coming to pick us up. We had to take a taxi. They had our reservation for the Marina Tower, but were "SOLD OUT" so they tried to put us in a "dog kennel" room in the basement instead of in the Marina Tower. My husband went to 2 rooms that smelled like wet dog and we finally cancelled and drove all the way home at 2:30 am. Cheri was our front desk person & Tina was the MGR that night and both were far from courteous & knew nothing about Customer Service. When you book a reservation and tell them you are going to be in after regular check-in, they should still hold your room!
Just an FYI, for people with dog/cat allergies like me, this hotel is pet friendly and they do not have rooms that are designated for pets only. It doesn't make sense to me because when people were allowed to smoke in their rooms they had smoking/ non-smoking. But I guess they don't realize that allergies to pets are as bad or worse than smoke.
Bottom line, we are Starwood Preferred members & we will never stay here again!

My mother and I visited the hotel. I was there for business and my mom joined me to share the room, visit friends, and relax. The hotel fit both of our needs. The meeting rooms are very nice. My mom was able to join her friends for site seeing. In the evenings, we enjoyed good meals in San Diego and friends joined us at the outdoor fire pits for a pool side chat.

I have stayed at this property many times. It is always one of my first choices when booking a stay in San Diego. The staff is always very attentive and courteous and I almost always receive upgrades with incredible views. The location is very convenient to many San Diego attractions if staying for business or pleasure. Although the hotel is located close to the airport, you don't hear hardly any airport noise. Especially at night and in the morning when it would be expected. Pool has movie nights which is a great plus and the starwood lounge is on the top floor with great views of the water.
