Arrived at hotel in the midst of a snow & ice storm and loved the heaters out front to warm you as you were going in & out of the hotel. Check in was simple & easy no long lines, my room was newly renovated on the club level; loved the big bathroom. A girl has to have space. Our meeting space was great and quite so business was conducted without interruption. Service in the Bistro, Shula's and lobby bar was very good. Our server at the lobby bar has been with the hotel for 20+ yrs. and was quite a delight to talk with. Suzanne at the Concerige desk was a dream, she helped us with dinner reservation we shouldn't have been able to get as it was Food Week. She recommended a tour of the town that turned about to be fantastic. She gave me great suggestions for when we have a conference there next year. This was my 2nd time to stay at this hotel and both have been very enjoyable. The location is perfect to shopping, dinning, the Navy Pier and much more.

Chose this hotel after multiple previous visits. Special requests for anniversary weekend were well handled by manager and staff. But for the second time at this hotel, the final bill did not reflect the promised credit for Internet access (rectified after phone call), and Club Lounge late night "desserts" was a plate with a few broken cookies at 8:30 PM.

Located in the center of Chicago you are close to the river front, shopping, parks and the many Lake Michigan attractions.
Check in can take some time. when we arrived there Was only one person behind the counter. at 5;30 PM one of our 2 rooms Was not ready for check in but the staff quickly found another identical room for us to check in to. Over all amenities are great but the bathrooms in the guest rooms are small if more than one person is staying. Overall a good experience.

As a Senior traveling with daughter and 10 year old grandson, I could not have been happier with the friendliness, warmth, and helpfulness of your bellmen/reception/checkout staff. They treated all of us with respect and kindness and were warm and fun in responding to my grandson. Kudos to you for your customer service!!!!!

Long lines when checking in. Understaffed
Hallway was dirty and lots of room service trays outside and walls were dirty with possible food stains!
Room was not as pictured. Old bathrooms. Amenities of lower standard than presented with reservations and advertisements
Huge water surge at 530am waking me up. Came from overhead and later found out you were renovating on the floor above me
800am and I am trying to sleep after the rude awakening of water above me and the phone rings. It is an automated recording to tell me to stay on the line. Someone will be right with me. Verified with the front desk this was not an emergency or wake up call. Merely a computer glitch
I had the worst nights sleep and hated walking through your hallways. The lobby seemed to be where you put your money
I also talked with your manager and she did give me $50 credit. In hindsight I should not have even paid anything as this experience was the worst one of any hotel and I travel a great deal

The worst experience at a Starwood hotel, ever! Although my check in was good, my two other guest arrivals were terrible. 2 1/2 hiurs check in after 5:00pm with no rooms ready to access was terrible. Charles MOD did the best he could but your late check out of 4:00pm with a convention in house is unadvisable.

Requested reservation of 2 beds not available despite hotel's 2 econfirming e-mails. Excruciatingly slow check in. Promised roll away bed never delivered. Freezing cold dusty room with one kleenex tissue propped on top of empty box. Check-out so slow I just left.
Never again! U have my permission to publish.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JohnL No Newspaper
I'm not sure what it is with me but, the Sheraton in Chicago, no one can seem to deliver newspapers to the room. I know I'm talking about something as trivial as the newspaper, but when you have an expectation and the expectation is not met day after day, it is very disappointing. I was very specific upon check-in about having the newspaper delivered to my room. (I work in advertising, so it is very important I see how my work runs in the morning paper.) First morning, no newspaper - I went to the lobby to inquire with the same person who checked me and I received the following answer, "It is in the system." And my response was the same - "You seem to have a problem moving from the system to actually delivery." The second morning, to my MUCH AMAZEMENT - NO NEWSPAPER. Shame on me for the first time, but shame on your for the second time. It is unacceptable, especially as a Platinum SPG member. Once again, "I don't understand why it wasn't delivered." My response - "Neither do I."
I will give it one more chance.

We were there on end of March which was a good Friday, holiday weekend. The hotel was very busy but I found out the stuff are very patient and nice. They can identify guests need and try their best to prepare for guests. This is one of the best Sheraton I stayed in US.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last year. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The beds are extremely comfortable! It's very centrally located to navy pier, shed aquarium & shopping. I will definitely stay here in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JPhield12 Disorganized and overbooked
I was attending a tradeshow so my booking was through society, had a $300 deposit and was done over a month in advance.. Any changes had to be made over a week in advance or else the first night would be forfeit anyway.
My primary complaint is that the hotel was overbooked and I was forced to stay at another hotel the first night. Now under normal situations, I would be more understanding but given that the Society had booked virtually the entire hotel, there were no changes allowed and the hotel already had more than a nights worth of deposit, there was little legitimate reason for the hotel to overbook as they were already assured of the full revenues.
Yes, I received some compensation and they got me a room at another hotel, however, that compensation was of no personal benefit to me and the delays caused me to be late for important meetings.
I simply feel that, under the circumstances, overbooking was unnecessary and inexcusable.
Further, since the hotel had my contact information, they should have contacted me in advance such that I would not have had to first come to the hotel and then lug my bags back into a taxi and to another hotel, I could have just gone to the alternate hotel in the first place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bride0707 Brides - Don't use this hotel!
As a bride-to-be, I was hoping for a great experience which is why I went with a SPG property. I have been a loyal SPG guest for over 5 years. However, the Sheraton Chicago was a disappointment for many reasons: the staff was not nice to my guests or me during booking the rooms, the person assigned to my block was not responsive, different staff members told me different information about costs associated with the rooms, they confused the booking options leaving many of my guests going elsewhere even though my block was NOT full, the staff helping our parents try to host events in their suites was hard to get not responsive, check in was a nightmare (over an hour wait), staff that was unable to answer basic questions (such as if my room was still free the night of the wedding as promised), staff that was extremely rude in the concierge lounge, incorrect charges on my bill that were difficult to get removed... the list goes on and on. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed as it was supposed to be a great experience as a bride. However, more than that, I am embarrassed because I encouraged my guests to stay at your hotel only to be treated rudely.

This year the stay was all that was expected and more. The Sheraton generously made good on their promise to provide a better experience than last's year's less than acceptable accommodations. Thank You for making us want to return next year to the Sheraton.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Lillie86 Unexpected Surprises!
The location is conveniently walking distance from Navy Pier & Michigan Ave. I was satisfied with the Customer Service I received alongside how quiet and comfortable the room was. My only dissapointment was the cleanliness of the room.Although it was very organized some of the areas where filled with dust bunnies. The bathroom shelves where filled with dust, as where the towel racks. The bathroom floor & bathtub had "hairs" all over!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Janara big hotel, pretty lobby, horrible room
The floor we were on and the room we were in was like a dungon. Very dark and dank, old and right out of the 70's with it's deep brown paint and dark gold plastic basketweave wall paper.
The sheets and comforter were soiled on one of our beds, the call for new ones took 3 calls to guest services over a 6 hour period and finally a trip to the front desk at 12 am, with an addition 45 min. wait. The request to move to a different room was denied after we first inspected our room after our 3 pm check in and the wait to check in was about 1 hour. The bathroom was tiny and old, the door was pealing and there was mold between the tile. The only coffee other than room service or the resturant was at a Starbucks kiosk and it was horrible with grounds in it. The room service we orded for breakfast was also bad. The bagels were burnt, the pastries were tasteless and the milk was not cold. The only thing positive about the stay was that the view was of the river. I paid cash and points for this room and wonder if that is why it was so bad. I will never stay here again or ever recommend it to friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rainbow59 A little disappointed
I have attended the coference over many years at the Sheraton. This is one of the first years I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail. In the past I would have considered my stays "perfect". Here are areas that need improvement:
1. When I checked in to the SPG counter late afternoon, I asked for a rollaway for the first night. Returning from a late dinner and shopping, the rollaway still wasn't there. A call got it there within a half hour.
2. There were no tea bags or coffee pods any day for my single mug coffee dispenser.
3. When I went to take a shower, there was the previous guests' dirty soap bar in the soap dish.
4. My body lotion the first night was half empty.
5. Upon check-in there were no washcloths in my room and I had to call for them after I'd already called for the rollaway at bedtime.
6. My SPG amenity choice was charged to my bill...internet service; upon checkout I had to have it credited back to me.
I think these issues make the difference between a "good" stay and a "great" stay. I hope when I return next year...I will see an improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveIAM AWESOME!
I was with 2 employees for the Allscripts ACE conference. Much like Denver the hotel was OVER THE TOP and I truly felt like the entire staff were happy we were guests. I saw an employee empty a super-full trash can in the Starbuck's and it was obvious that they are an independent vendor. And she was training a new hire as well! The only "issue" I have is with the gift shops which are independently owned and they are less than stellar, certainly not the experience I had with other staff. The lamp shade was on the dresser because it was broken and the shower faucet was VERY hard to pull on, and loose from the wall. Otherwise perfect experience!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KathyH Great place to stay while in Chicago
We loved our stay at the Sheraton. Great location. Wonderful view of the river and all the buildings, boats and activities going on around us. It is close to all the activities that downtown Chicago has to offer. Other than the guy hailing cabs for people, all the staff were very helpful and GREAT.
Chicago Burgers - great place to eat. Restaurant in lower level NOT good and way too pricey!! Would NOT recommend. Can't even make a decent cup of coffee! Well below Sheraton standards.
Oh yeah... get wireless internet in the rooms - this is the 20th century!! I shouldn't have to sit in my pjs in the lobby to have access to my family back home!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kristy98 Not sure if this hotel is worth $280 per night
We stayed at the Sheraton Towers for 3 nights. I found the front desk staff and bell staff very friendly and accommodating.
Unfortunately, we thought the hallway on the way to our room was cramped, stained and dated. There were no robes in the room and we only received two bath towels.
The bathroom is truly sub-standard. Poor lighting (that was noisy) and aging tile. I couldn't apply make-up in the bath as the light was so poor.
The bed was really comfortable and the view was fantastic.
We were awakened by the cleaning staff early on Sunday morning and we heard people pounding on the treadmill beginning at 6:30am.

Would recommend this hotel and stay here again.
