Rated 5 out of 5 by Overall a great experience My friend and I found the staff very friendly and accomodating and we especially appreciated our early checkin after an all night flight of 11 hours from Johannesburg. The room was lovely. A nice touch would have been an extra bath towel for washing my hair but everything was as I expect from a Sheraton hotel. We had a lovely stay. January 20, 2013

Modernised internals make it comfortable, very good SPG recognition and...it serves an excellent stone baked oven pizza on room service!!! The car park is often overcrowded with customer and hire cars, it's your luck to get close to the door. March 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Heathrow Hotel Excellent overnight stay as per usual, very comfortable bed, which ensured a good nights sleep prior to our long flight and a magnificent breakfast to send us on our way. The refurbishment has been completed and we were very impressed with the Orchard restaurant and the layout of the rooms by reception January 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect location Love the new remodel of the lobby and restaurant area. We stay at least once a year. The Club Lounge breakfast was very nice as per usual. Only negative is that the Club Lounge evening snacks seemed below par. We had 2 separate stays in the course of 3 weeks so, unfortunately, it seems to be a trend. June 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Services Excellent staff at Club lounge. Helpful and seems to know ahead what guests wants. However, concierge? Is there one? I dragged my luggage on both occassion (checking in & out) I dont even know they existed until when another guests pulled up on the front, he went and help him with his luggage. Me? Im invisible with 2 large luggage dragging along the car park on my way to check in and upon checking out, at 8.26am (8th June), someone was there but not helping out. Dissappointing. 2. I asked reception for a box for packing. I was told to go to the little store at the back to see if there's any. 3. However, the lady at the club lounge with no hesitation offered to look out for one for me and she came back in less than 5 minutes with a beautiful box. - Keep her - she is good for the Hotel - Not because she found the box for me, but she interacted with guests well and sure understand what hospitality is all about. However - I had a very pleasant stay there and would not hesitate to stay again if I have an early flight June 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful hotel and staff--Indoor pool superb We loved everything about our stay. Our only disappointment was the setting. On the Athlone and Sheraton website, it talks about and shows photos of being on the banks of the Shannon River and the rolling green hills. You can't see either from the hotel. May 3, 2013

Pleasant staff, convenient location, but uncomfortable bed, small window for room and dated decor, even though recently renovated! By far, the poorest Starwood lounge I have visited. March 21, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Good stay Theyhave a problem with their Taxi Serevice. Allow at least 30 minutes from the time they call one to arrival. They only use "House taxies" and will not call a regular Taxi. This slows things down quite a bit! May 11, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sheraton @ Heathrow As an American business person, I am used to SPG hotel experience. I was not pleased to learn that the "free" Sheraton shuttle from airport to hotel cost almost $10 each way. It was a pain b/c I did not have Pouds with me. I had to go to info desk, could not pay with credit card. Had to get Pounds. Plus, had to wait long time for "free" bus. Not a great start! May 9, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Unfortunately disappointing It is a Sheraton right? When did the Sheraton brand become so outdated? I understanding there are hotels that are just in old buildings. I can forgive the old decor, the old lifts and even the old wooden furnishing, however there must be improvements soon for this hotel to complete with the many others more updated and comfortable hotels around Heathrow. Firstly, when I arrived the reception had no smiles. All the way through my check in process he 'said' the right things but did not show that he meant them. The only thing he did right was to recognise my SPG member level, but even that sounded like he was really reluctant to provide me my membership perks. The room was super disappointing. Was room 309 REALLY a Club Room? Had I paid for a Club Room and somehow got a cheaper room instead? From what I can tell the Club Rooms and the Standard Rooms aren't really that much difference, and to be honest the club lounge isn't all that comfortable either (compared to Sheraton in Sydney for example). Breakfast was ok, however dinner was awful, The spaghetti bolognaise was too salty, tasted like they had accidentally used soya sauce instead of tomatoes in the sauce. The pork chops were bland, and was nothing special for meals served in a Sheraton. So unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel. I believe there is another Sheraton in Heathrow, haven't tried it so can't say how it compares, can't be this bad right? April 21, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unpleasant experience in an OLD hotel If it had not been for the staff, who were so helpfull and friendly, i would have left the hotel immediately after checking in: - Hotel is Old, not renovation for so many years except the lobby -rooms are so Hot: there is a MAJOR air conditionning problem in the hotel which has been adressed for so many years. Air con does not work, also the wifi signal is unexistent despite a 20usd daily charge. -staff are extremely helpfull and responsive and my problems were adressed within 15 minutes. -I was invited to the lounge for a cocktail and again it is old, runned down and food was cold ( cold sausages and mash) but great staff again. -If you plan a trip to Heathrow, do not book the Sheraton until it has undergone a major renovation, or you will be disappointed - April 24, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Very shoddy experience I chose the hotel due it's proximity to Terminal 5 at Heathrow ahead of an early morning departure. Check-in at the hotel was long and painful. Despite having prepaid for the room, check-in took getting onto to half an hour which I think is ridiculous. This was complicated by the fact that I refused to let the check-in staff block £109.11 (why this absurd amount??) on my credit card for a prepaid overnight stay, as it can sometimes take days for these things to clear. Although I am a Starwoods Preferred Guest member of some years we were given what looked to be a crew room. This was in poor condition with a broken cupboard door (hanging off one hinge) . In addition the in-room refrigerator had not been cleaned of the previous occupant's contents. We requested an alternative room which this time had a refrigerator that did not work at all. At this point, we could not be bothered to to try and find another room. This was all just shoddy attention to detail, surprising at a Starwood/Sheraton 4 star hotel. One redeeming feature is that we ate dinner at the hotel restaurant (there being nothing else in the neighbourhood). I will say that the meal was excellent and the staff very helpful and courteous. Rated 3 out of 5 by Did not live up to their usual standard I have stayed many nights at this hotel (probably around 50 nights!). It is convenient to Heathrow and has usually been satisfactory. However, on this particular trip July 31-Aug 1 nothing went right. At the check in, the clerk was very confused, did not recognize what Platinum status was, did not ask what amenity I wanted etc, was distracted, and when he finally gave me the keys he said "you have been upgraded to a club room". Well, I actually paid 188 GBP for this night and had booked a Club room so when I went to my room I wondered what fantastic room I was upgraded to. In reality, it was a very normal club room, howeber with an extra (third) bed so I had no room to move around etc. Hardly felt worth 188 GBP! Also, once the clerk realized I was Platinum the clerk told me the keys would work for the club room, he said it opened 7am for breakfast. It was always 6.30am so I went up and checked the sign which said 6.30am. Next morning we went there at 6.40am but the door did not open. We finally banged on the door and another guest opened, clearly my keys were not set up for my paid access to the club room. In summary, you need better trained clerks. I will try this hotel again but hope to see a better job done. August 10, 2012
