Have stayed at this hotel several times for work and have been happy with my experience. Comfortable room with some high-end finishes, above average gym facilities and Shula's serves good dinner until about as late as hotel bars are ever open. Only gripe was lack of more varied healthy breakfast options with calorie counts provided for food the way other hotel chains have started doing. It's hard to stay in shape when you travel a lot and, although as I mentioned the Sheraton's gym is above average, I missed that extra touch with the food/menus.

Front desk manager changed my reservation to one night and also double the rate. Had to call 800 number to get it fixed. Front desk staff were nothing short of rude, they told me my room wasn't ready at 1:30pm without even looking at my reservation. How would they know what type of room I had or if it was ready if they didn't even know who I was????
Room was dirty, ac didn't work, and the hotel is just nasty. We actually drove home that evening rather than stayed in the room and drove back the next night. Used room just to change clothes and use the pool. First time I have given Sheraton a try, and also last time. Jamie front desk management should be replaced ASAP. No professionalism at all. Pool was nasty with debris floating in it for 2 days

Best area hotel. Facilities and staff are great.
Terrible at SPG recognition for my three (3) separate visits.
For all three visits the hotel made no acknowledgment of status at check-in. No room upgrades were offered even when the hotel was visibly empty with no conferences or weddings going on. No mention of the Club Lounge or free wifi; and while they offer free continental breakfast for Platinum status SPGers - you won't get the breakfast vouchers unless you ask for it at check in (its never offered without prompting).

this hotel felt sad to me. It appears they are making an investment to improve the rooms and common spaces, however, the occupancy level was so low that management decided to close the club room on a Thursday evening (unheard of in my 20 yrs plus of travel). In lieu of providing the club level amenities, I received a free appetizer coupon for the hotel restaurant. The appetizer had to one of 3 selections that I would not select, therefore I received no benefit from it. This was a very cheesy way of handling the situation. When pressed, about reducing the nightly rate due to the lack of services that I paid extra for, the front desk person said this was their substitution and she could not do anything beyond this. I asked that the General Mgr call me...to date, no phone call.

All of the staff at the Sheraton Roanoke are very friendly. The food at Shula's and at the hotel's Pi restauarants are both just average.
The room could have been cleaner as it was a bit dusty and the bathroom tile had some black mold (especially around the safety grab bar and the grout where the tile and tub meet.
The A/C in the rooms sounds like a tank starting up. Several other guests shared that opnion.
All in all the best hotel in this part of the Valley and we probably will stay here again

Nice place; paid for Club room and was told on arrival when requested SPG Gold room enhancement Club Room status WAS my enhancement. Now I read in the comments that there are rooms with couches and 4-poster beds! So we received no recognition other than the bonus points I made sure to ask for. Mr. Fox so nice, and Elizabeth in Club room terrific. Nice breakfast in Club room, so don't know what that comment about; also, WiFi was free, again not sure what that about. Very nice facility in general.

This is a nice hotel. The front desk staff were courteous. Lobby is nice with an open lounging area. The room was large and comfortable with a nice bathroom set up. The vanity was outside the tub and toilet area. Although we did not use them, the pools seemed nice. We ate at the hotel resteraunt and it was delicious to say the least. The club lounge was a good size and had a good selection of food for both evening and breakfast servings. I cant imagine there is a better hotel in the area.

I found the remodel of the hotel to be quite tasteful and well executed. Wall covering, carpets and fixtures give a warm elegant feel to what was a dated property.
Among the highlights; lot's of nooks and corners to huddle with co-workers on topics with reasonable privacy and quite. Great elevator access, minimal wait times. Staff was polished and responsive. Location is excellent, airport and highways close. Pet friendly, good grounds for walking. TVs are good size. Ammenities in room are of quality. excersice room is great, lot's of equipment in great condition. Of note, my shower valve was broken, engineering repaired it rapidly on report.
Downside; TVs- poor HD lineup compared to others in area. TVs mounted at mattress height, hard to watch in bed (no swivel mount, off to side). Bathroom door nearly touches commode, tight space for two to use. Shula's (on site) is overpriced, marginal food, avoid. Other option close by. For a beer, pathways to adjacent properties within walking exist.
Overall- I plan to continue to make this my spot when in Roanoke.

Stayed twice in the last week on travel to and from Nashville with my 13 year old son. First visit was greeted at check in and asked which floor I woudl like to be on. Restaraunt staff kept trying to get guests to leave as it was getting close to closing time (11:00). Room was nice and comfortable. Nice indoor and outdoor pool areas. Club Lounge was weak as it was not open on Thursday. Return trip it was open, visited it for breakfast, but it was not staffed and everything was cold.

The hotel was well decorated, clean, and had plenty amenities. The staff were very pleasant. My only issue is we had no bath towels or wash clothes and the toilet paper holder was broken. We did also find a napkin under the coffee machine that had old coffee spilled on it so the napkin should have been replaced. I am really big on cleanness when it comes to shared public places so to some this may have not been a big deal but I don't want to be around someone else mess. I did also feel slighted about there not being at least a Continental breakfast included. Even the cheapest of hotels provide a breakfast. However the fact that we didn't have to pay a pet fee made up for that amenity when I was searching for hotels. We had a great stay and we will come again and hopefully the minor issues wont be an issue.

Unfortunately we were not happy with the
Bedding quality. The pillow cases were tiny and did not cover the pillows properly. As a result there were little tufts of down everywhere. The comforter was also not enclosed which added to the problem. The mattress pad was too small and lumpy.

Comfortable. I had high expectations for the price and the brand but I feel it wasn't the quality I expected and have come to know from Starwood.

ROOM SERVICE 15 MINUTES LATE
CALLED FOR DINNER RESERVATIONS AT 6 FOR 2 AT RESTUARANT.TOLD COMPLETELY BOOKED.WENT DOWN AT 6 ANYWAY THERE WERE ABOUT 5 OF 20 TABLES TAKEN. WE WERE IMMEDIATELY SEATED!!!! AND THEN WE STARTED TO FREEZE TO DEATH-SEEMS THEY KEEP THE DINING AREA TEMP AT 65 DEGREES!!! I LEFT HALF WAY THRU MEAL.
ANY REQUEST MADE TO GUEST SERVICES REQUIRED US GOING DOWN TO THE DESK! AND FINALLY WEE WERE ACCICENTALLY LOCKED OUT AND HAD TO GET NEW KEYS FROM THE DESK

On Labor Day 2012, I flew into Roanoke Regional Airport, which by my surprise was a small airport. It only had 6 gates. Coming from Atlanta, I thought every airport in the USA would be congested, but not this one. I arrived at the exit doors in a jiffy. I called the Sheraton for the shuttle as I was instructed to do upon arrival to the airport. I was told to go to door 4. Too my surprise the shuttle was already there waiting. I was very impressed with Mr. Fox.

The facilities are nice, and the staff is friendly. We experienced a few issues during our two nights:
When making the reservation, I booked a single room with one king sized bed. Even though I checked in after 3 PM, they were out of the single king rooms, so I settled for two queens.
During our second night, the fire alarm went off, and everyone was evacuated. We had to stand outside for half an hour until midnight, and not one staff member from the hotel ever told us what was going on.
At the in-hotel restaurant, the food wasn't great, particularly for the high prices, and the waiter accidentally dropped an empty dessert plate on our table which shattered and cut my girlfriend on the hand.
Although our experience was subpar, it might have just been a case of bad luck. Overall, this place seemed adequate for a Sheraton.

I've slept in a lot of hotels, but I've never slept (or tried to sleep) in one with such an incredibly loud AC system. Unfortunately it was hot during our stay so we couldn't sleep with it off. If we had the unit set to Auto, the sound difference would wake me up every time it turned on. And having it constantly on Low setting was like trying to sleep on a run way at an airport. I don't know what can be done to fix this, but it is definitely a problem.

The room was nice. However, when you looked at the deatails they were not what you would expect from Sheraton. The handels for the facet were not tight to the counter top and moved around when in use. The shower curtain rod was loose and hung low making it hard for the shower curtain to stay back.
The biggest surprise was how filthy the upholstery was in the restaurant. When we went down for breakfast we almost didn't stay.

While they let us check in early, our rooms were right across from the ice and vending machines. I made it clear that we were there to attend my sister's memorial service and they still put us in a noisy area. One room had the A/C running even though it was freezing outside and a someone had to repair the system before the heat would work. The food in the restaurant was just terrible. Glue would have tasted better.

A woman at the front desk asked me whether I had "gotten out of the wrong side of the bed"!
The Starbucks is supposed to be open at 6 a.m. Nobody was there. At 6:15 I went to my car and stopped at the front desk to ask about it. One of the other people waiting at Starbucks was in line in front of me asking about the same thing. When I got to the front desk I complained. I got the quote above! Not "I'm sorry."

I work for the state of VA. I made reservations for myself (Black) and one of my white co-workers. We checked in together and BOTH OF US USED OUR DEBIT CARDS to cover our rooms for 2 nights at state rate, totaling $215. So why was a $300 hold put on my card total while she was only charged the exact amount for each night? Plus, I had to call and have them remove the hold off of my account after I had checked out.

The morning staff was much more friendly and accommodating that the night staff. We checked in late and there was no mention of SPG status, in fact we were not even on a SPG preferred guest floor. The alarm in the room next door was not turned off, so it woke us early and we had to call to have it turned off. Otherwise, it was clean, conveninet, and the morning staff was fantastic.

Each year, my wife and I make at least one trip from New York to South Carolina to see family. For the last two of these years, we've made it a priority to stop at the Sheraton Roanoke. We've come to appreciate this hotel for their outstanding staff and facilities, and now with an 18-month old, for being a kid-friendly stay. We look forward to future stays at the Sheraton Roanoke!

No complimentary coffee in lobby in morning. Starbucks coffee bar in lobby charges for coffee. I don't want to make coffee in my room and then go downstairs to get the creamer and milk. I like brewed coffee with milk and 99% of hotels of Sheraton's caliber supply complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning. My room did not have sufficient coffee creamer nor did it have milk.

Always freindly staff, willing to assist. Starting from the check-in to the staff at the restuarant Shula's and check-out. Willing to accomidate my requests in a polite and professional manner regardless what time I check in.
Excellent gym facilites, good selection of machines, weights and enough so always avaialble during peak periods such as the morning and evenings

We enjoyed our stay and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
We were disappointed the the SPG club lounge was closed for maintainance. We always enjoy using the lounge and will check next time before we stay at a Starwood Hotel.
Also the outdoor pool had a lot a debris and was not cleaned during our stay. We used the indoor pool instead.

I have stayed here many times and will always come back when I am in the area. The facility is welcoming and the staff friendly. There are many areas of the hotel arranged as you would your home with chairs arranged for private conversations and small nooks where you can work privately without being stuck in your room. The bar and restaurant are outstanding.

First stay was shocking. No heat for the first two nights, entrance door to were our room was tore up. Propped open with an astray the first night and a piece of furniture the next. Huge stains in the carpet were the refrigerator had leaked. We were told to park around back but had no way in due to the door, we had to walk all the way around to the front and come all the way down the hall to get to the room. When the Internet did work in the lobby it was very fast. Told front desk all these problems nothing came if it. Even seen maintance guy in the hall and told him, still nothing! The 3rd night someone did come check the heat. He put a temp gauge up to vent seen it read 58, opened the vent stuck his hand up in it, shut it and said it was fixed. BUT GREAT experience in the breakfast lounge. The guy that served us was excellent. Good manners, very polite. He made me feel welcomed. The bartender in the resturant was GREAT!! Thank you

Housekeeping was kind of below par, room wasn't cleaned all that well and the coffee supplies were not refilled. The person at the front desk when I originally tried to check in was rude and short, saying that there were no rooms ready, even thought it was after 3pm.
Other than that, great hotel and the rest of the staff was extremely friendly

I have stayed at this hotel many times. It's nice and the hotel staff is amazing. I would stay at this hotel more but this hotel does not have tv channel MSNBC. I have requested this channel many times. Unfortunately, because this hotel does not have this channel, I don't stay at this hotel much. Most Starwood Hotels have this channel.

We were super pleased with EVERYTHING. All the packages/specials are incredible. We took advantage of the Birth Year Special and couldn't believe the deal we got! Awesome modern spacious room, indoor and outdoor pools, really nice fitness center, Starbucks coffee bar, on-site dining options and very pet friendly. We will be back!

I would recommend when making reservation that you want a room away from the ICE MACHINE AND ELEVATORS! The last time I stayed there, my room was right next to the ice machine and as you can imagine, I did not have good night sleep to say the least. Also I wish that the heating and cooling system was much more quiet!!!!!!!!!
