Rated 1 out of 5 by nellep67 I won't stay here again.
The inconvenience of the parking is too much to overcome.
The room smelled like dogs had stayed there. One of the pillows really smelled like wet dog.
On a positive note the staff was friendly. I appreciated the shuttle service and the shuttle driver was very nice.

Recently visited Duluth to take advantage of the Fall colors and ride the train to Two Harbors. The Staff and room at this location were above the standard. Very clean rooms, nice workout facility and convienent location. The hotel shuttle drivers were always on call which made getting around the city very easy. Had a great stay and would recomend this Sheraton to friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LTraveler Would Stay Here Again
Convenient location. Nice hotel. Clean room. Wonderful view of the harbour from my room. Would stay here again.
Platinum status was recognized with a suite upgrade which was appreciated. However, I had to ask for club lounge access which was not offered by the desk clerk. Nor was I offered a welcome amenity.
However, I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Made last minute reservation for a quick business trip. Couldn't be happier about my stay, at a great price. Outstanding value, perfect location. Very friendly and attentive staff. Arrived late at night and tried the 301 restaurant. It was surprisingly very good as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MandM This hotel exceeded our expectations!
We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton and were very impressed with the facility. The room was spacious, nicely furnished and clean. We enjoyed the club level for an additional cost but took advantage of the breakfasts and they had appetizers in the evening as well. We also used the work out area daily which had our favorite machines and it was clean & spacious.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Angie1342 Beautiful building, lacking comfort
We stayed at the Duluth Sheraton for a wedding. The building itself was very pretty. The pictures on the website are acurate.
The bathrooms were set up akwardly. Our bed was hard as a rock (we had a double full bed room). The pool was salt water, but was very small. The hot tub was over-chlorinated and there was only room for about 4 people in it. There was a bench seat that only went half way around the hot tub. If you need to use the hotel's internet, it will cost you.
The positives: The exercise room was fantastic. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The location is ideal. The skyways make it easy to cross from building to building. The free parking was also helpful.
Overall: It was hard for me to rate this hotel very highly since neither my husband nor I were able to get much sleep on the hard beds. The lady at check-out informed me that all the beds were the same, so it won't be a hotel we can return to.

We came to Duluth because of a family emergency. The Sheraton was the only hotel where we could find a room. It was a little out of my price range, even with the medical rate, but it was comfortable and the evening staff - Chris P - was really understanding. I probably wouldn't stay there again, unless I got a good deal, but it was exactly what we needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jawatters24 Great Hotel, but put us in a bit of bind
Our stay was great, but had an issue with our check in time. My wife and I had our wedding and a majority of our guests stayed at the hotel. We booked the honeymoon suite and requested an early check in since we had our rehearsal dinner the same afternoon. Rehearsal was at 4pm and check in was at 3pm. We requested an early check so that we could get ready. The hotel booking agent said no problem and that the room would be ready by 1pm for us. It turns out this was not the case and we could not get in until 3pm causing us to not have enough time to prepare for the rehearsal dinner. Thankfully friends let us use their room to get ready and shower, but it was somewhat embarrassing for us to do so. If the hotel agent would of told us we could not check in originally we would made other plans, but instead we were in a stressful situation that could of been avoided. Overall great place and we had a great time other then the mix up to start.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JKB5604 Felt like the only game in town but I'd try somewhere else next time
Older facility. Staff not prepared to check in more than one guest at a time. Ac unit really loud. Room was small. Bartender never even acknowledged guests in the lobby but the bar was full so there was no place to appropriately approach the bar.

There was only one person checking in guests when we arrived so it took about 10 minutes to register my 2 rooms My son and wife were looking forward to a very good breakfast and were very dissapointed. Hard boiled eggs instead of scrambled. No cereals except oatmeal. No waffle maker. I have had better breakfasts at a far less expensive hotels.

Depending on whom you talked to, they all had a different understanding of the benefits of the SPG program and gold members etc. Example being, I asked for a late checkout and the person on the phone stated to me that is only available to Platinum members, I told here that is false you should look this up but she insisted it was Platinum only until I said this was absolutely wrong then she said could you hold, I will be right back, a few minutes later she came back and said I was right and she was not aware that gold members were included. This was one of a few that happened this stay, I hate to always be the one educating staff members at your hotels, it is not why I go to a hotel to have to argue my way for what I am paying dearly for, I need it to be a pleasure with kind questions like we can upgrade you sir because you are a gold member with SPG and here are your free gift options, what would you like, Etc. Etc. is that to much to ask............

I paid a hefty price for this hotel, only because of its proximaty to the ballroom across the street. I was disappointed that there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room. And most of all no continental breakfast. I think the price was too high for this reason, and will never stay there again or recommend this hotel to anyone!

Rated 4 out of 5 by nursejennyo Nice hotel but not all I expected.
The hotel was nice and had a very nice fitness facility. The only complaint I have is that wi-fi was not free. I was not aware of this when I booked the room and would not return because of this reason. Although the cost to get wi-fi was minimal, I would have appreciated that as an included amenity in the price I paid to stay there.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Abby1212 Not my best stay
I've stayed at the Sheraton Duluth several times and have had great experiences every time. However, this stay wasn't up to my expectations. I recommended this hotel for a friends bachelorette party. Before we went out, we turned the heat down because it was very warm in the room. When we got back we noticed it was still very warm so we turned the air on and figured we would just turn it off in a few hours. We then went to bed. I woke up around 5 AM covered in sweat. The heating system must have been broken because it was just blowing hot air into the room all night. Very uncomfortable!!!
In the morning we were rolling the pull out couch back up and noticed something white on the floor under the couch. It turned out to be some sort of VERY MOLDY food! Yikes. the carpet around the food was also starting to mold so it must have been there for quite a while. :(
Not the best stay but like I said before. I've had a great experience there every time before that.

It was such a pleasant surprise to be met with such kind and courteous staff at the Sheraton. We were in Duluth for a wedding, and were able to take advantage of the courtesy shuttle to get from the wedding to the reception and back. The driver was so accommodating and friendly, and it made our evening a most enjoyable experience .

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jake321 Nice room, poor service
Front desk service was awful, waited for 20 minutes for the person talking on the phone to acknowledge me. Once off the phone acted like I just showed up, no sorry for making you wait or anything of the sort. The next day, different person working the desk same long wait. Need a backup front desk person for when the line gets long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by theresa66 The only truly business class hotel in Duluth!
I travel to duluth frequently for business and until the Sheraton came to town, I avoided staying overnight because of the lack of business class hotels in the area. Now with the Sheraton, I can plan trips for several days and get everything I need done with the comfort of knowing that the Sheraton is a great home away from home.

I am thankful for this hotel in Duluth, MN. The skyway is wonderful; I felt very safe walking the skyway from St. Mary's Hospital to the hotel. The shuttle is such a convenience when you want to get to St. Mary's Hospital quickly. I would highly reccomend the Sheraton for family members who have a loved one at St. Mary's Hospial.

Third time is the charm. It took three times before we were finally given a room that was clean. We arrived at 3pm. And, the 1st time I don't ask for a printed receipt, I don't receive via email. Require my folio.

Food and drink prices are a little high especially when I could walk across the street and save $1.75 per drink I ordered other then that the rooms were good queen beds would be alot nicer then double beds in the room plus could use a fridge in the room to keep the free water cold other then that it was a good clean place

Rated 4 out of 5 by Debbie2012 Thank you for the wonderful accomodating stay!
I just went up there by myself for 2 days and the weather was fantastic. I talked for a long time with the bartender and got excellent service and company. I just had a problem with my TV and they ended up moving me to a better room! The fitness center was very nice as well. It made me want to work out longer! Thank you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by purpledidi Basically good
Very poor toilet tissue--like sandpaper
Very poor chairs in bar--all "sat out."
Chairs in dining room too low to the floor. Felt like we were squatting. We were seated next to a very dusty heating/cooling vent.
Prices for food and drink quite high.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PelKaye Nice.. but so small
The Sheraton was clean. Rooms were too small, and walk to parking is a trek. Also I booked a lake front room so I could stand at the window and enjoy the lake of my childhood. Why would you put a 3 ft deep desk in front, so I can't get near the window? Also the french door on the bathroom does not allow much privacy.

Although the room was comfortable, the noise from the floor above was annoying. Sounded as though children were running around for a couple of hours in the late evening. There was extraordinary noise from the corridor as doors opened and closed--a lot of banging around.
Better sound proofing would help tremendously.

Rated 5 out of 5 by metaverse Fantastic place to stay in Duluth
Went to Duluth with my family for Labor Day weekend, and stayed at the Sheraton. What a fantasic property. The rooms were well appointed and large, and club level lounge was great, and the location was perfect. Just a short walk through downtown to all the local activities.
Look forward to visiting again soon.

Appreciated the upgrade, don't want to minimize this but disappointed the front desk wouldn't allow me and my family club access for breakfast. Wasn't even considered. Staff seemed so black and white. They were professional but stiff. This SPG member was very disappointed no flexibility was even considered.

Fireplace lounge with historic Duluth photos was a nice place to sit while cold and snowy outside. Needed an early check in; staff did their best and gave me the first available room. 2nd floor lake view not that great and for some reason noisy - could hear housekeepers singing in the halls while in my bed.

Stayed here for a weekend getaway to Duluth. Hotel had a great central location, friendly and helpful staff, and a convenient connecting parking ramp which is free of charge during your stay. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for great lakeview rooms as well! Overall a fantastic stay!
