We had a corporate event hosted at this hotel, and we more than pleased with the service. Our event started at 8am and we arrived 2 hours early to ensure everything was set up and registration was put together. To our surprise everything was already taken care of, and matched the RFP we had put together on our banquet order form. Every detail was taken care, and was set up correctly. They really took the time to ensure our event was a success. A huge thanks to Jay and to Tania for ensuring our day ran smoothly and our guests were taken care of. I would definitely recommend this hotel for any group event, they had every detail taken care of.

We recently stayed at the Sheraton for our wedding night. The staff was helpful and welcoming. They even went as far as sending up a bottle of champagne for us when they noticed our arrival back at the hotel after the ceremony.
They truly helped make the day as special as it was.

Calgary has amongst the highest parking costs in the country, but fear not - your only Sheraton Eau Claire option to park rationally is by Valet, and lucky that at $38 plus taxes per night, you get the bonus of not paying anything more than what you will be forced to pay for street parking.

Good location across from a YMCA (as the gym is quite small), a movie theatre, mall and a few decent restaurants. A few blocks to the heart of downtown, but short blocks. Connected to the +15 pathway so you can get places indoors until midnight.
If you are platinum, the club lounge isn't great. Didn't find the staff helpful and the eggs have been in a chafing dish for an hour and rock hard at all times.
The hotel is quieter than the Westin two blocks away, which is a mad house.

Love the Sheraton Eau Claire but there are a few things I would change. I find it ridiculous in this day and age that free internet is not included.
We also made the mistake on our previous trip of ordering our daughter a glass of chocolate milk after the front desk advised us that there was nowhere nearby to quickly purchase a bedtime drink. I can't remember the exact charge, just that it was over $12 for a small goblet of milk, and took almost an hour, and 2 follow ups, for it to arrive, at which point it was basically too late anyway.
When I come to a hotel of this caliber, I would prefer not to feel nickel and dimed.

The Sheraton is right in Eau Claire, attached to downtown through the +15. You can get anywhere indoors, and the views are incredible.

The hotel was great, enjoyed my stay, but one thing spoiled what would otherwise have been a great stay…
I was not sure of the various different levels of SPG perks that were or were not available to me, and had to talk to the guest services folks several times. One example of this was the SPG Member lounge, I went up there once for the evening drink and nibbles and saw that the lounge was also open at breakfast. So on my last morning I went to try the breakfast session, but the magnetic key would not allow me to get to the 15th floor, so I tried a couple of times, then called guest services and was informed that I did not have that perk.
I don't disagree with having different perks for different rates, all I would like is that some simple communication (maybe a list given at check-in) telling each guest what they have and don't have would prevent this minor embarrassment.
I may be over-sensitive about this, but I certainly felt uncomfortable having to ask what I had available for my stay. Everyone tried to be helpful, that is not the issue for me, just let me know ahead of time.

i thought the room and location were good as was the service. two things that were really annoying is the regular channels were not working on the tv and the internet was coming and going and very slow which for me is very unacceptable especially given i paid for it.

I stayed one night ( to accommodate doctor's appointments) with our son who had a workplace accident and was confined to his room. Ashley from guest services sent him a wonderful platter - really brought a smile!! It was unexpected, thoughtful and greatly appreciated. The room and facilities are wonderful too! Love staying here!

I would like to thank all of the staff and the General Manager for making our stay the best it could have been. Our stay was for a very big occasion of getting engaged and they did everything possible to make our stay perfect. We look forward to staying at the Sheraton again in the future possibly even on our wedding night.

lovely hotel, attentive and helpful staff....but, thirty-seven dollars per night for valet parking, which is the only parking available, is outrageous in Calgary. Even Vancouver isn't this expensive. In a town where there is little truly effective public transit (like from the airport), either include parking in the rate (heaven forbid), or charge $20, even $22, but with tax, it was 39.90? Seriously...

Booked into the hotel for a weekend shopping trip and was pleased to receive a $75 gift card for 3 of Calgary and area "best" shopping malls.

You can't beat this hotel for location and access to downtown attractions, including the Zoo! Being able to walk out the front door and jog or walk through Prince's Island is fantastic and an added bonus. Feel like dinner out? Or a movie? Walk across the street.

This hotel is like second home given the number of days I have been spending here over the last 16 months. Unfortunately, even though the location is perfect with terrific staff and service, the room experience has been highly inconsistent.
(Note: all the below inconsistencies were experienced or observed as a gold/platinum member over months with 5, 6 and 7 this week too)
1. Internet connection ranges from OK to terrible (unbelievable and totally unacceptable!)
2. Room amenities such as bath robe, shower gel, mouth wash and bathroom slippers sometimes present, sometimes not (wonder what days are lucky)
3. The iron boards are a sham – cheap quality wrinkled covers that make it so difficult to iron your shirt. Replaced with something acceptable when the issue is raised. Why not just fix it for all guests.
4. Expired bottles of premium mineral water waiting for me as a platinum member amenity (really!!) this was raised with the front desk too. (is anyone reading it)
5. In-suite jacuzzi room sometimes with bath salts sometimes with not. (should I get my own?)
6. Corner suite with Jacuzzi had major bathroom drainage issues. Wash basin, shower room and Jacuzzi all clogged with drainage backup (eeewwwww!!)
7. Accumulated dust on water kettle (I usually don’t even check but was inspired in part by the latest CBC Marketplace – don’t even want to check using their tools)
So why am I still coming back here? Because I believe people can change and this problem is something that can be solved with a little love and attention from the right people on the right things (hint: quality assurance). My experience here has ranged from fantabulous to utterly disappointing and disgusting. This place was better and has quite often exceeded my expectations – come on guys you are Sheraton. Try and be consistent in your quality. Hoping to have all positive experiences going forward at this Calgary Sheraton Eau Claire – one of the finest hotels that just needs to get the basics right once again.
Will surely be seeing you again over the next few weeks with back to back bookings.

Anytime I'm passing through Calgary I stay at the Sheraton Suites Eau Claire. By my experience it is the best run Starwood property around. The staff are always friendly and go above and beyond to provide the best service possible. The entire property is spotless and well maintained. Another plus - if you're in a hurry, the in room dining is a pleasant surprise.

Excellent SPG benefits, Club lounge is lovely (patio in the summer is EPIC actually), great food but what puts this property over the edge... incredible staff. Warm, professional, remember your name, truly treat you like a guest visiting their home. Very surprising to achieve this at such a large property. Consistently Impresses!
