Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Hotel I stayed in this hotel for one night. This hotel is very nice, and clean. I like the setting, it is very welcoming. My only problem was with the front desk, she was not welcoming at all. As a gold member at the time of my staying, I had to wait for a long time to be serviced. When I finally made it to the front desk, she was a bit unprofessional. Overall, I still like this hotel. First time for everything. October 26, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst all around experience I knew I was in trouble when I went to check into the hotel. The check in area is filthy. The reception desk was cluttered with debris. The woman checking me in had a bad attitude. The room I was given has not been updated since 1960. The sheets and bathroom were filthy. I called to speak to the manager and with a bad attitude said there is nothing he could do. This hotel really gives SPG a bad name!!!!!! February 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good airport hotel I travel a lot and felt that this is a good airport hotel. The location is great, the people were all very nice and the hotel was clean. All of the common areas appeared current and clean. We were happy with our overall experience at the hotel. The only recommendation for the hotel is to update the furniture. The furniture in our room was dated and couch cushions were in rough shape due to excessive use. July 11, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by good for travelers Well situated in terms of distance from airport and public transport. Central AC was working to noisy (looks like rather old) but you can stand. There should be clear instruction accessible inside hotel how to get and use public transport in Miami which is really convenient. Also searching the hotel webside you should have possibility to find the instruction how to get to hotel with public transport. October 13, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not a safe place to stay Overall you had no feeling of being safe from the local panhandlers that were always on the prey around the Hotel. No clear pricing on room service items (which were way over priced). Placing a $ hold on our daughters home account(although we booked TWO nights with points, stayed only 1) placed a uncalled for burden on her in a trying situation, her grandson was being seen at the Palmer HOSPITAL. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel for the rate Loved this hotel ~ there were two problems. One ~ they didn't send up a room service request when I asked. I had to call again when I got back to my room. Two ~ I couldn't turn the heat on. The room was FREEZING so I didn't sleep well. i talked to a few other guests, apparently this is a problem. Even when I turned the AC up to 90 degrees... it still pumped out cold air. Sheraton - fix this. January 21, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Dirty bath tubs and cold breakfast I am a Platinum SPG Member and stayed at this hotel before and after my recent cruise (end of Nov. early Dec.) and was not impressed with the cleanliness of the washroom, especially the dirty tiles in the tub. Breakfast was so so at the restaurant. The omelet/eggs was the only thing that was hot because they have a omelet station there, otherwise, bacon, potatoes and sausage were stone cold! Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful hotel. The hotel was very close to excellent, all expectations were met. Our only complaints were that there were strings in the room and some trash underneath the bed. Other than that, the shuttle bus ride to and from the hotel was beautiful, big shout out to our shuttle bus driver, Geo!!!!!!!! Geo, you were great, beautiful personality. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great place close to the airport with free shuttle When we checked in our air conditioner wasn't working. We called down to the desk and within 10 minutes a maintenance man was there to fix it. He asked if we wanted a different room or to wait. We choose to wait and he didn't leave until it was up and working properly. Very impressed with the service. The staff at the front desk was friendly and had great recommendations for places to eat. Rated 2 out of 5 by Alot to work on No one asked if I was driving when I checked in but I was charged for parking even though I didnt have a car. The phone operator told me 1800 calls were free, i found out at check out, that was a lie. Local calls is charged more after a certain amount of time, nobody said so. They said it was written somewhere by the phone. I couldnt find any info so I had to call and was misinformed. August 20, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Our experience at the Miami Airport Sheraton A big plus for the hotel is the shuttle. We found the service to be excellent and the driver very helpful. Another plus is the staff. We found all of the employees to be exceptionally attentive to our needs. I would like to mention an exceptionally helpful and pleasnat individual, the server who attended us in the bar area Saturday night. Her name on our bill was "Smith", a tall young woman of aferican-ammerican decent. She made our meal a pleasure, and after my wife left her sweater behind, personally took care of helping us get it back. She made the dining experience a pleasure all the way around. I would like to say that I was shocked by the rise in prices over our last stay a few years ago. We ate in the dining room the night of our arrival in Miami (the 15th). I found the prices to be too high. You've priced yourself out of our market. Our room on the 15th had a cracked sink. That was a downer. February 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Highly Recommended The hotel is ideally located ad sits off major highway and interstate. Reservation staff accommodated changes and re-bookings professionally. The lobby / reception / rooms was spacious, clean and welcoming. Was not aware of the parking / valet service (USD 15/night) which is little expensive. As part of the loyalty program, parking fees should be waived for SPG Platinum/Gold members. February 18, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by rr in the room there were a lot of spots where the cleaning department hasn't been for at least a year.Broken stuff for example to open the window. Staff average: some were very rude and some very attentive and friendly. Food was much below our expectations.No real flavour =dinner and breakfast even hairs in the bread(definetely not ours)Not all the material which was used was clean. February 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful hotel and staff Another great Starwood property - lovely facility, setting, pool, view, food, staff, etc. ! Thanks to all who made our two separate visits (prior to Cuba trip and two weeks later) so memorable. Especially Alex Morales, Victor at the bar, Leo, and Nicole Carmenate with whom I had a brief chat. The sea bass with lobster sauce was to die for -about the best I've ever eaten! Thanks! Rated 4 out of 5 by Great place to stay for a business trip Extremely accommodating, friendly staff and a great breakfast. I would rate my stay way up there if it wasn't for the long strands of hair that I found in the bath tube as I was entering it to take a shower. Even though I know this an exception rather than the rule in Sheraton Hotels, I wasn't a pleasant thing to see and made me wonder about the cleanliness of the rest of the room. October 24, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Sadly I make a reservation for me and my family and they took It off, because of this situation I was not going to stay with You, but You still charge me for the hours I staid in the room, even when It was your mistake and I has to search for another hotel at 10pm with the rest of my family. Rated 2 out of 5 by Room not ready I called at 11 am, day of check in, confirmed my res., was asked when I would check in (I told them 3pm) arrived at 3:15 and had to wait almost an hour for a room. The TV service was the worst. Not a single child friendly channel and a fortune for pay per view. Stayed 2 different nights, paid more on my 2nd night for a smaller stuffier room??? July 28, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not as expected My room was nice although the airconditioning was not working and the outlet in my bathroom didn't work. I advised the front desk of the issues as I headed out for a business meeting. Four hours later I returned and nothing had been done. I called again and although I was offered another room, I was heading to a business dinner and taking the time to move wasn't an option. December 3, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice but one major disappointment Was looking forward to resting in the room & watching the NBA Playoffs, but could NOT get the channel because they chose not to carry TNT in the rooms. TNT, one of the oldest basic channels that everyone carries, but not at the Sheraton. I would not have stayed here if I had known that. Whoever heard of a top hotel not carrying TNT? All the high end hotels carry it. May 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheraton Miami always hits the mark This is our fourth stay at this airport-handy hotel in Miami. As always, this hotel totally suited our needs. The staff is kind and efficient. Special thanks to Yury, Miguel and Victor - who have remembered us from past trips and take such good care of us. Sometimes traveling can be stressful, but this 'leg' of our trip is always pleasant, comfortable and hassle-free. May 27, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Needs Updating The hotel rooms need updating, the valet staff was not helpful and rude. Was upgraded to a 2-floor suite, the problem was I had two room numbers, one on the 9th floor and one on the 10th. Went to the 9th floor to drop my luggage and the only way to get to the bedroom was the spiral stairs, not happening in 4" heels and a skirt. Ended up going up the elevator. May 8, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disapointed The over all staff at this facility was good , The parking card scanner was inop and was a pain to have to wait on the staff to come all the way yo the garage to let me out every time, The room a/c was very poor it only cooled down to 73 in my room and the office sent a repair person up every evening for 3 nights to repair it ,which worked for about couple hours. Rated 4 out of 5 by Overnite Cruise Hotel I liked this hotel. Only the menu $ was expensive. But Breakfast was complimentary and it was an outstanding Sat. Brunch. They serve the very best French au gratin soup. Great airport or pre cruise hotel. Free shuttle to and from airport and $25 taxi or their shuttle to the port. Great poolside. Within 20 minutes of Miami attractions. Next to the golf course. February 2, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Just ok... The staff were super unfriendly at check-in, my keys didn't work twice, and the parking is horrific. There are no elevators to the parking so you wind up carrying your bags either up or down stairs. And the parking is a maze!! Zero recognition of being a SPG member including not even acknowledging it at checkin. Property is very difficult to get to as well. October 6, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by a-c problems a-c could not be modified. no way to adjust temp, or should i say when you adjust temp nothing happens. room was too cold and my wife was not feeling well. told desk and they said nothing could be done - all rooms are controlled temp. lousy set-up. ended up getting on chair and trying to close off vent - not exactly safe. also hard to get to from the south. I have not stayed at the hotel for many months but she recognised me and made me feel very welcome and I appreciate that very much. Rated 3 out of 5 by Great Service at Sheraton Miami Airport We wanted to recognize the great service provided by Ernesto Diaz in assisting our family of 4 (incl. 2 children under 4) porting our several pieces of large luggage, patiently navigating the peak hour demand for elevators during morning check out, and then even bringing our car around and then loading all the luggage single handedly! Rated 2 out of 5 by Clearer Explanations prevent unsatisfactory results. 1)When I arrived I was told that I could choose between self-parking and ballet parking, (I chose self-parking). What I was never told was how much I needed to walk in order to go from the parking lot with all my luggage (4 people) to my room. 2) I misunderstood that as an SPG gold member I was getting free parking , and at the end I was charged for it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent hotel This hotel is wonderful and will be my hotel of choice when in Miami. I love the "Pure" rooms and the view of the golf course and the view of Miami. Beds are extremely comfortable and the amenities are great as well. Only gripe is that the valet is very slow even when you text them ahead of time, you still have to wait for your car to be pulled up front. July 14, 2012
