The front desk staff at this hotel go over and above for any request for the most part. The beds are super comfortable and the updates since a previous stay were great. The bathrooms are very small and the bathtub was not cleaned very well. When I turned on the water to take a bath, a big clump of hair from a previous guest came up from the drain trap. That killed the mood for a bath and made me question the cleaniliness of the hotel. The room did not have a desk lamp or reading lamp by the chair. When I asked the front desk staff about it, since I needed the lighting to do some work, the front desk person at the time didn't really seem interested in checking into whether this was normal or if the lamps were missing. I came down to the beach a day early ahead of my group and changed to a different pre-arranged room the next day to find appropriate lighting in the next room -- same room type in the same location, but different floor. Otherwise the staff was very attentive and went over and above.

The newly renovated hotel is really attractive as well as comfortable. The meeting spaces were nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful -- from the registration to bellmrn to banquet staff to housekeeping.
I really enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning.

Nice to see familiar smiling faces. Great food in Aqua-Vi. Most comfortable beds. Had a great time. Will be back again. Thank you for the upgrade. Only complaint, indoor Pool water was too cold.

Room was fine, only two elevators made for slow trips back to the room. Dinner was very poor, substandard food and service. 4 of us--took 20 mins to get 3 rolls! Lunch on the beach was very nice.

The hospitality of the hotel staff was above and beyond. Valet parking was nice, bell hops were always helpful and ready to serve. The restaurant "Fusion" offered a fresh breakfast every morning, waitresses were always friendly.

New management in the summer of 2012 put together a GREAT Happy HOUR with oyster shooters by the pool, wings all at $.50 and killer fish tacos in the lobby bar for $2.00 with unbelieveable flights of wine.. The Best HH in VA beach and a pleasant suprise for a hotel lounge.

OVERALL, I'd like to thank Patrick and Bekah (front desk) and Marcus (valet) for the WONDERFUL service they provided during my stay!! They're attention to our needs and remarkable attitude made our stay pleasant, I would come back because of them. They were GREAT!!!!
I had 2 issues with my stay this weekend.
First, Valet closing at 11p, this is not posted in your handbook and I was taken aback when I was rudely informed by the night front desk clerk. Instead of him stating that valet is closed AND what the process would be to get my car, his approach was Valet is closed, period. After questioning him for several minutes, he finally stated that he could get my key and location of my car.
Second, not sliding my closeout receipt under the door. I found it on the floor, called to front desk and was told due to renovation they stick the receipt in the crack of the door, because it will not slide under the door. WRONG!! I was able to slide the receipt under the door. There is pertinent information on our receipts, for security reasons, please allow a better way for customer to receive such a vital document, during this renovation.

My family and I stayed here for a night while visiting Virginia Beach, VA. The girl that checked us in was VERY polite, and helpful. We ended up upgrading our room, because the traditional room was just too small for our family (we have a baby in a pack n play), so we ended up upgrading to a suite, the suite was SO nice, it was very spacious and we LOVED the room. It over looked the pool and the ocean, and was right across the hall from the indoor pool entrance. The hotel was quiet, and everyone was friendly. The lady that checked us in (forgot her name, sorry), was very helpful and answered any questions we had. The guy that checked us out, didn't seem to want to be working, or want anything to do with anyone, so I was NOT pleased with him, but overall we had a great stay!!!! There was construction going on out front while we were there but it didn't really make a lot of noise, or bother us, and was easy to get in and out of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in the Virginia Beach, area! <3

Our stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. The staff was great. Britney in the Kids Zone was super nice. The cleaning staff was very helpful too. Very family/kid friendly, great location and pet friendly too!!!

When making the phone call to reserve, my agent was so helpful and friendly! On arrival, we were given a free upgrade to a lovely room. The resturant staff went out of their way to be helpful. The whole experience was wonderful.

Maid did not clean my room and requested for towels after never arrived. Did not even care about being a GOLD member. The front desk staffs are not friendly.When I check-out the only thing she said was "your balance is zero".

Our stay was fantastic! I never seen so many pets in a hotel. The hotel was very clean, and upscale. The customer service was outstanding. Plus they didn't charge an extra fee for your family (pet). I can't wait to go back.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and kind. Everything was clean which is important to me. It would have been nice to have a club room for spg members, but other than that it was a very nice stay.

Old hotel, air conditioning did not work well, no movie chanel avilable on TV, room smelled musty. Would not upgrade our room for three evening stay even though a Platinum level with upgrade vouchers.

Really liked the renovations and the beds were very comfy. Temperature control within the room was difficult to maintain. Grounds were nice but the outdoor cabana was only open on the weekend.

The hotel stay was very nice. Had an ocean front room in the off season and it was nice and relaxing to listen to the ocean while falling asleep and waking up. The room was not dirty or gross, but it also wasn't super sparkly either. Though for having just went through a multi million dollar renovation, it appears they may have skimped on the fixtures and such in the room. There isn't a towel rack in the bathroom, just a small flimsy hook that fell off as soon as I tried to take the towel off, the carpet didn't look like it have been replaced, and if it had they did a poor job installing it. Something left black grease streaks on the dust covers of the beds (looked like wheels had run it over) and we saw those same black marks on dust covers and even a duvee in the two other rooms our party was staying.
However the banquet facilities were wonderful, the food was wonderful. We were staying for my company holiday party and had a great time. I just wonder if they really did put several million dollars of renovations in recently... it doesn't seem like much of that money went to the room fixtures.

We loved the room, the view, and the accommodations. The bed was comfortable, the room decor was modern and fun, and the refrigerator was a great plus. The woman who helped us make our reservations and gave us information about bringing our dog was very helpful and the reason we chose this hotel.
The down side was that the hotel was understaffed and it showed. Our reservation was for a room with a whirlpool tub, city view, and they gave us a "free upgrade" to a room with a view but no whirlpool tub, without our permission. That was a bummer. Plus we ordered breakfast for two every morning with our reservation. No one explained the tickets to us, what they included, and what they didn't. Plus there was only one waiter for all the tables. The service was horrible, and we waited a long time for our food. We were told that the it was because everyone was ordering room service and that they were "understaffed". The food was really good but by after the second morning of waiting FOREVER, we decided to eat breakfast elsewhere.
The only other thing I didn't like was the fact that the hotel "reserved $300 on my credit card because we ordered $60 in room service. When I asked why they said it was to make sure we had enough money to cover all of the charges. That seemed odd and I wasn't pleased. No one told us about that ahead of time. We didn't order any more food to our room in case they were going to take $300 every time.
All in all the hotel accommodations, location, comfort, and cleanliness were enough that we would definitely consider coming back. I just hope next time they have enough staff to handle all of the guests.
Thanks for allowing us to bring our dog. She loved it and the hotel employees were all very friendly. (Except the waiters, but they could be avoided).
