Rated 3 out of 5 by mike618 Decent enough, though a little off the beaten track
I found the hotel to be solidly average. Definitely close to the wharf (5 minute walk) but too far from the rest of the city for what I was hoping to get. It is called Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf, though, so no false advertising there. Smallish cramped lobby/desk area, but rooms were clean and okay. Overpriced for what you get (even for San Fran). Long lines when I checked in and when I wanted to get checked out. I think it was a busy time in May, but there could have been more people working at the desk to cover the load when the hotel was obviously full. As a platinum member I was quite well-received but no mention of room upgrade (I usually get one or get notified when they don't have any available). No lounge, but they gave me a breakfast coupon for the restaurant.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Roy29 Great location but that's about it
I spent 2 nights with my family at this hotel and took up 2 rooms. I really appreciate its strategic location, which is just 2 blocks away from Pier 39 and it has TJ, Walgreens and IHOP around it.
Rooms are modern but lack refrigerator, microwave, which came standard in other Sheratons that I stayed in before. Towels provided were only two sets instead of three. No free Wi-Fi in the room (there might be in the lounge but I did not check) and parking is expensive.

Great location for the Wharf activities, but too many "nickle and dime" charges and too many kids running up and down the halls at all hours of the night.

Rated 3 out of 5 by FrankB Rundown hotel but nice people and great breakfast
Rooms are motel-style, yikes. Did this hotel used to be a Motel 6 before? Front desk people are awesome and breakfast is the best thing about this Sheraton.

I did the express checkout when I stayed here and they hit me for 99.00 extra dollars. They claimed I charged food to the room. I happened to have a lot of cash and intended on using it for the trip. I did NOT charge ANYTHING to the room. Had I not checked out express, I would have seen the bill before it was charged.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AnnaBanana At this price free WiFi would be nice
I suggest that you give guests free WiFi in their rooms. Or, it the lobby WiFi a ploy to get us down there with the hopes of buying pricey drinks and snacks? The location is great, but there are other hotels around, I would not stay at this Sheraton again. The fire pits outside looked nice, but people were always smoking at them. They got noisy on Sat and Sunday nights. They may be better in a location not directly under rooms?

We tried to check in about 12:30 a.m. After 9 hours of travel. There was already a guest who had been waiting some time. We had also waited 10 minutes in the parking garage. I looked in the office behind the desk, no one. No one at the bell desk. Finally I called the hotel operator by cell phone. He himself came to attempt to help the other guest, then us. My little boy was exhausted. When I asked about my muni tickets and boat tickets that were part of my package, the desk clerk was clueless. Finally in the room I tried to get the temperature above 65 degrees to no avail. I covered my son with bath towels and went to bed shivering. The next day I called down and the engineers declared the unit dead and in need of a total replacement. It They did replace it that day. Parking is $46 a day, and the breakfast buffet is average at best and $16.95 for kids! Outdoor pool and no spa.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Robin Only wish the staff could be more helpful
I booked for two nights but needed to extend to three nights. When I checked in, the front desk told that I could wait till the following day to do it, when I am less rushed. But on the following day, I was told that the hotel is SO overbooked that there is no chance for me to extend. After I pleaded that I had a four-year old with me and the moving for one night would be rather painful I was told to call the main line because I have a gold status and they might be able to help. The mainl line then told me that there is nothing they can do. I had to scramble and booked another hotel. When I checked out in the morning, I was then told there were rooms available! How could you go from "so overbooked" to "oh, we have some rooms available" overnight like that?! Someone somewhere must've messed up.

Do not accept a room that faces Mason. Rooms on first floor have no privacy and are very noisy. Stay In the main building. Nice fitness center, two cardio machines not working.

Rated 3 out of 5 by escape76 Great location - staff ok
Location is excellent - hotel has been upgraded inside altho on the outside might not look as pleasant. The rooms are nice. Showers need work. Staff are mediocre. Concierge was not that great - neither were the valet folks. I'm used to high quality SPG staff. They were what I'd find at any other hotel brand. Also the coffee shop QUITE expensive!

Beautiful location but tiny rooms. The layout is odd as well. Not to mention there was much more than acceptable noise levels. I might give it another try but since there are so many hotels in Fisherman's Warf, probably not.

Rated 3 out of 5 by dmo888 Sheraton Fisherman's wharf Feb 2013
Feb 2013 I spent 2 weeks at the sheraton fisherman's wharf. I was disappointed with the state of the hotel as it is clearly showing many hard years of service. My room and probably all rooms had what I consider to be poor water pressure for shower and toilet and had a general run down look.
On the other hand the hotel staff is excellent and exceeded all expectations.
Enjoy your stay.

Good location, on bus lines, and walk to wharf. Room clean, beds comfortable. Bath very small, but workable. WIFI in room was $15/day which I didn't want to spend. Free wifi in lobby was very poor. Slow speed. No quiet place to work a bit.

Hotel is in major need of renovation, updating. Hallways are old and worn. Rooms are dated.
The location is great, for tourists, but I'd most likely stay at a different SPG hotel next time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mike0600 Great Location, Needs Improvement
Upon check-in no upgrade was given, despite being a Platinum member and despite requesting. Hotel is expansive, covering a whole city block. Room was clean, but showing age. Little annoyances like outlets that wouldn't hold in the plugs and several tv channels that were out seemed to deter from the overall experience. Wakeup call was requested, but never administered in the morning so I had to call them to make sure they were awake. Overall, location outweighs the other issues, barely.

The noise that comes from the outside is horrible. Waking up at 5 am due to deliveries is not pleasant. At check out, I decided to mention it and the response I received was ridiculous. "We can't not control the outside noise." I agree but I can not be the only customer complaint. Maybe you need to invest in double pane windows. I was in room 3418 and was told it is one of your nicest rooms. It didn't seem any different from the room I stayed in last time a few months prior. I travel for work and need to be in SF about every 2 months. For this trip, I gave it another try since the time before I had problems. I'm hesitating about staying again. I will be back with my kids in April. Will I again receive the same service and early wake up call?

If you want to be able to walk almost everywhere, this may be a hotel to consider. The transit is also close by & only costs $2. When you check in, I would recommend asking to stay in the quieter area of the hotel as the windows and doors do little to keep out the traffic and other noise. We found everyone in the hotel very helpful and knowledgeable about the area & the beds comfy and very clean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BusinessTravler Convenient hotel
The hotel is well situated to downtown San Francisco and they staff can get you a cab anywhere in the city in short order.
I think that the hotel was acceptable but it is starting to show its age compared to some of the other available hotels in the same price category. The rooms are clean if a little aged and the staff polite and competent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by James1970 Had some issues.
The evening I checked in, I noticed while I was the shower that there was a dirty washcloth from the previous guest still draped over the shower curtain rod. Before I went to dinner that evening I told the front desk about the towel. I was told it would be taken care of. Upon my return 4 hours later I found the towel still there. The next morning I headed out for work thinking it would be removed during the morning cleaning. When I returned, it was still there. Since I was going out for dinner I told the same person at the front desk that it was still there. She apologized and offered to send a free breakfast coupon to my room and have the towel removed. That night when I returned, the towel was gone and the coupon was there. Thank you for that. However the guests in the room next door were smoking(It was an adjoining room). It was disgusting.
The next morning I went down for my free breakfast. I went to the buffet and since I wanted something healthy, I ordered an egg white omelette. I helped myself to the rest of my breakfast and waited for the omelette to come. It never did. The waitress completely ignored me the rest of the time. I ended up leaving after 40 minutes.
Not typical Sheraton standards. I was surprised and a little disappointed. Just thought you should know.

Rated 3 out of 5 by HOJO Excessive Noise
Our stay was horrible due to unruly people running through the hallways between midnight and 3:30am. Security was notified and appeared several times, however, they failed to stop the erratic behavior of their wayward guests. Noise, yelling, banging on doors and walls. Totally unacceptable! Worst night "ever" in a hotel.
