Registration staff was very slow and guests were ignored while the lines grew. One person at the desk while others passed by pretending to appear busy, but offered no assistance! No lounge and black mold in the shower area where grout was separating. I thought I was in a roadside motel!

Although the hotel was clean and well-maintained, I found it a major inconvenience that they did not offer free WI-FI. WI-FI was available for the steep cost of $14.95 for 15 minutes. This was my first experience with a hotel that did not offer this service for free and it would prevent me from using their services again.

I was on a romantic vacation with my husband, this was our third time staying here because we love the location. You can walk to Fishermans Wharf and many other places including the grocery store, but this time we realized there were kids loudly running the halls very early and we could hear the people above us and next to us. I have concluded that it was not the place for sleeping in or romance, but for the price and location, it is great.

This is the first hotel where the SPG program status was not acknowledged at check-in. When I called down to confirm that Gold receives free internet, they said it does not. I have stayed here a few times and each time they seem "worn out by tourists." (both hotel and staff) Though no one was particularly rude, they did not seem to go the extra mile, rather more the bare minimum.

I've stayed at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel a couple of times. This is a small hotel in a very touristy area. It has a small lobby.
The rooms are very basic. The services are limited.
On a more positive note, the staff is attentive and responsive. They do a good job with what the hotel has to offer.
If you are a tourist looking for a lower cost option in San Francisco, this should meet your requirements.

If you are a tourist, perfect location...walking distance to many destinations. The rooms shown online are not exactly what you get upon arrival. Each room needs a comfortable easy chair..we really missed that. The colors in the hotel are very bright and interesting and the front desk was friendly and energetic.

We stayed two nights on February 24 to 26, 2012, and I am a Platinum Preferred Guest for almost 10 years. At this hotel, I was so dissatisfied about SPG Recognition that the hotel took away some benefits and room amenities. It is my first time at this hotel of the service and quality did not meet my expectations as well the Sheraton Brand name at this hotel disappointed to me compared to other Sheraton Hotels through out in California, this hotel is the worth and I do not recommend to stay if you want to your elite benefits to be received and rewarded.

Rated 3 out of 5 by HoneymoonGoneWrong First Night of Honeymoon ruined
We had to sleep in seperate beds the first night of our honeymoon because the hotel gave our room away, even though I called twice from 2 different airports to inform them we were delayed! The gave us the only room left at midnight and it was horrible with a view of the roof. Were told we could change it for the second of only 2 nights at this location. Next morning they moved us to a room that was not much better but at least had the King bed we were still charged for both nights. Only fix the manager did was treat us to breakfast which hardly made up for cost of ruining our first night on our honeymoon.
The saving grace of this hotel was the conceirge were way more accomodating and tried to make up for the travel issues we had getting there. Great at booking us a tour to try to see the most of the city and got us a reservation at a very good restaurant for dinner as well. If it weren't for the conceirge services I wouldn't even consider this an average hotel...especially considering I booked for the Sheraton name.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anders34 Good for Tourists not for Business
Although conveniently located close to tourist activities in the Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood, it was not close to the business areas of San Francisco. Further, the dated construction, although recently remodeled, made for a drafty cold room and noisy atmosphere. Food service was great and the dinner options in the cafe were decent. Unfortunately I left my scarf at a table at the cafe and the next morning when I inquired about it being picked up by the staff, without looking around or asking anyone, the concierge told me there was nothing found. When I asked if they could at least ask anyone at the front desk or leave a note, they said it would not help.

Great location. Staff were generally very friendly except for a very grumpy & rude man at the spressi lounge area. Bought coffee on two occasions while kids wanted to use the free wi-fi. His rudeness took me by surprise. On the second night , there he was again with rudeness and all. I even witnessed him being very rude to the ladies in front of me. They shuddered and walked off. Business lost!

Rated 3 out of 5 by dalec Good location, but not what I expected
I was surprisingly underwhelmed by this Sheraton. The rooms were just barely average compared to other 3 star hotels that I've stayed at and nowhere near as well-appointed as sister-brand Westin Hotels. I can deal with average finishes, but combined with a temperamental motion detector thermostat and the loudest night's sleep I've had in years (guests and staff congregating outside of our room for conversation, ship horns, sea birds, loud car stereos, etc - keep in mind I was on top floor of the hotel), my overall stay was well below average. On top of this, the front desk did not even ask me how my stay was when I checked out. I love Starwood hotels, but I was less than impressed with my stay at the Sheraton at Fisherman's Wharf.

Rated 3 out of 5 by KansasNate Inconvenient Location and Rooms need updating
This hotel has an unusual layout. Staff was pleasant and able to check me in early.
The room I was given had a slanting window with a shade that didn't initially pull down. Wouldn't have been a problem except across the courtyard were other guestrooms with windows that were as easy to look into as mine! 10 minutes of fiddling with the shade and untying the knots and I managed to get it down.
The room had an enormous desk that spanned en entire wall. But only one chair. So my wide and I couldn't work at the desk at the same time.
The furnishings looked a little old, and the hallways / carpet of the hotel definitely seemed to be past time for renovation. The lobby is very modern, but the renovations seemed to have stopped there.
The location of this hotel is convenient to fisherman's wharf, but not much else.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Angus12 Great dog-friendlt hotel - valet parking underperforms seriously
We have stayed multiple times at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf. One reason is the great location close to the water, nice dog-friendly rooms as well as the friendly & helpful staff.
However, I would like to ask hotel management to review if they would like to keep the valet parking service at the low level it is right now. Not only is it very expensive at currently $50/day after tax. It is also not very good. I would pay $50 for an exceptional experience. But it is far from that. We arrived Sat late afternoon and there was exactly one valet parker who was totally overwhelmed. The next day there were two valets who were more interested in "helping" a group of girls than helping other customers. We had to wait 15 minutes to have our car taken off our hands!
The next day, I asked if they could throw away some of the empty to-go cups we had. The valet showed me a trash can 30 ft away so I can throw it away myself. I did, no problem with that. But for $50 you can expect the valets to be much more attentive than this. Obviously, valet parking was outsourced, run by an external company. @Sheraton Mgmt: Please review the service level of your valet parking company!
Also food is very overpriced in the hotel coffee shop. At least, there is a Starbucks and other places close by.

The physical hotel is adequate and comfortable. The room was clean and had all the amenities that a quest would need. I have issues with the very high price of parking. Fifty dollars a day is excessive for a guest. Additionally you have to take your parking ticket and go outside to the valet booth every day to have charge applied and to get out of the garage. All other hotels in which I have stayed do not require any action to go in and out of parking. Also the daily internet charges at $14.95 a day are also excessive in todays world. These factors alone would discourage me from staying at this hotel in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by CBTraveler When a suite isn't sweet.
As other reviews have indicated, the location of this hotel is ideal if you're interested in visiting Fisherman's Wharf. We picked this hotel for the location but largely because I'm Platinum with SPG and the suite night award came through providing us with an upgrade to a suite. Needless to say, it was a disappointing experience for a romantic getaway. The suite...was...well let's just say it needs a big upgrade. The room was very worn. The furniture was pretty beaten up, the walls needed painted, food was left in the fridge from the previous guest and the windows were so dirty you could barely see out of them. No glasses at the mini-bar ... we drank our wine from plastic cups because that's all that was available. Honestly, it simply wasn't a "suite" experience. The bar in the lobby is a mix between a sandwich shop and a bar. I was amazed that the hotel didn't have a nice bar and/or a comfortable lounge inside to sit and relax. This hotel would be okay for a business trip...I like something more polished for a vacation. And, I would tell my fellow SPG Platinum friends to simply not waste your suite night awards ... you will regret you did.

Stayed 2 nights there. Too old and worn out. Loud rooms. Hear everything from the street - and from rooms nearby. No Wifi at rooms - only for 15 $..... - you just pass the road and get a better one for free.
All in one - not good. For me, Sheraton is a better name as what we have seen here.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ASpgmember Very noisey
The windows in our room let every sound from the street come in. We could also smell exhaust fumes from the cars driving by. Below our room was an area where smokers were permitted to smoke. The cigarette smell came into our room as well. We spoke to the front desk about the problem they only offered us to move to the floor above. We asked if the sound is the same and they said yes. There were no other rooms available. This is probably right because we did travel during the holidays. We made the mistake of booking a tour through the concierge desk. We did not realize that the concierge actually worked for the tour company. She booked us for the Alcatraz tour on the day we were leaving. When we explained to her that we would be leaving the date of the tour she assured us it was fine. We went and saw her the following day to make sure that it would not be a problem to go on the tour. She assured us again that it was fine. The problem was the tour actually started hours after the time she indicated. She had just giving us the check in time. We had to change our flight plans to accommodate the new time. While we were at the tour company she actually came and saw us and immediately went into the back room. I do want to say We have stayed at several Sheraton properties over the years and have never had a problem until this time.

Beds and pillow choice were excellent. However, there were no mini-fridges or microwaves or free wi-fi. That coupled with a $50 per day parking that was kept secret till you got there really added unexpected costs and diminished the experience. It this was Joe Crab's hotel, fine, but a Sheraton? Very disappointing. Also no spa.

Upon arriving at the hotel after long hours of flight and ground travel, our room was presented to us for our anniversary trip situated next to the housekeeping closet and furnished with two beds. We had requested a king room. The check-in staff were insistent this was there only room available. After checking with the manager another room would be available, but not for several hours. We were not offered a bathroom, nourishment, etc. Just merely asked to go and look around the city and wait for a call. The call never came after 4 hours..so we returned to the hotel at 8 PM to receive a key. The next morning we were told at the breakfast place, our room reservation which was made for breakfast to be included, would only provide for one person to have breakfast a day. Again, back to the manager for resolution. The breakfast was cold at every station, eggs, bacon, and oatmeal. Unappetizing and the same for three mornings in a row.
This was not a romantic getaway place. It is catering to business people who are on the go or large tour groups. Aside from the convenience of location to the waterfront, this hotel is not customer friendly or welcoming in any way.

These people can't get out of their own way. The concierges were great. Everyone else was not. Room poorly prepared. Safe and A/c didn't work. They rely on the guests to convey issues. good luck on that. No restaurant. Overpriced wine bar with airport snack bar food. Dumb weekend treat - outdoor beer garden on a freezing night. Didn't give us a folio until we got home and asked. They charged for $300 of free amenities.

I asked for clean and I explained to the cleaning lady that I wanted clean ones and not the pillow cases,, but the ones they replaced them with were still dirty and smelled really bad. my niece had the bed next to me and they were not like that. other than that it was fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tangtang Charging one more night without return!
we 8 people stayed at your Hotel during July 16-18, 2013, 4 rooms booking through travelling agent Touricoholidays., room charges were all prepaid except 2 nights parking fee for 2 cars, total $209.76.
When checked in, the lady at front desk took all our 8 passports, and according to her request, I seperated the passport by 2-2-2-2, in order to tell who would be together in one room. Everything seems goods, and she gave us 4 sets of room keys in return. For our convenience, all the rooms used my credit card for guarantee, and you charged $100 for each room for guarantee, total $400. When checked out, everything was fine, we paid for the parking fee and left.
But on July 30, when we were back to our country, I got the message from Bank, your hotel charges me another $515.48 and $ 52.44, why???
I ask the travelling agent to check, your hotel replied: one of our 8 people whose name is Zhu stayed in a seperate room for one night, not in the 4 rooms we booked, that’s the charge for his room and his parking. That means we had 5 rooms in total!! That’s ridiculous! I don’t know how your people made the mistake and how can you have a new room for us without any notification, even Mr. Zhu himself didn’t know he stayed in a seperate room !! The travelling agent wrote more than 20 emails and today your people feed back that we shall provide the evidence that Mr. Zhu didn’t stay in a seperate room. That’s Crazy! We handed all our passport to your people to check in, your people should enter each guest name into the corresponding room, not the guest themselves! If it were you, how can you prove you stayed with your friends not yourself alone?
Now more than 20 days left, but your hotel didn’t give any meaningful response. Now we have the questions as below:
We only book 4 rooms for 2 nights through Touricoholidays, why your hotel would have one more room?
If your system have one more room booking for Mr. Zhu, why there’s no any notification 'when we check in? why no room key for us? What’s the room number? Why no guarantee amount from the credit card when check in? Since we stayed in your hotel for 2 days, why Mr. Zhu stayed one night seperate and one night together with us?
We showed to your people the Voucher for 4 rooms and my credit card is for those 4 rooms only. If Mr. Zhu stayed seperately, not under my Voucher, why you can charge under my credit card without my permission?
We 8 people rent 2 cars at San Francsico International Airport and paid for 2 nights parking fee at your hotel, why you charged me one more night parking fee when we didn’t have any more car?
If there were a “fifth” room for Mr. Zhu, why didn’t you show the bill when check out?
Too many questions!! That is only because your people made the mistake but you didn’t know yourself, just ask the guests to do this to do that. Before, I thought Sheraton is a good Brand of Hotel Chains, but you really made my disappointed! I don’t know how your people would check and deal with this, just please ask the lady who was on duty for check in by the afternoon on July 16th, 2013, OK?

The standard rooms are incredibly small and the bathrooms are even smaller. The carpets and walls of the hallways are dingy and look more like a old cheap motel than a Sheraton. I made reservations for 4 nights, but left after one. It's a great location, but for the money you can do better.

Just stayed at the Sheraton Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel this weekend. This hotel has one of the best locations, but that’s about where the love affair ends. Check-in can be lengthy, and valet apparently does not get instructions (i.e. you must speak to someone in valet if you wish your car to be ready!) These are pretty mild challenges, but the list goes on. My family started off in a room with two double beds; these are sold as a “sweet sleeper” but they can only be considered “sour” at best. I was more comfortable on the floor. The staff tried to move us to a room with a king bed and sofa sleeper, but the quality of the beds were no better, so we made the best of it for another night. On a positive note, a manager tried to soften the blow with a “free” buffet breakfast, but in the end this did not pan out well either. Worst of all, I used points (32,000 points to be exact) for this 2 night stay, not a very good value when you consider this equates to either spending $32,000 to capture the points on a rewards card or paying several hundred dollars to purchase points or convert their timeshares into hotel points. Add to this another $50+ per night for parking, and this weekend can only be considered a bust! Sorry, I really want to like this property but have little positive to share.
