Stanley Rabut, great at remembering names and drink preferences!! Very attentive and courteous.
On a different note, the SPG staff at the front desk could take some lessons from Stanley. They have poor communication skills, lack customer service skills, and have no issue letting members wait 45 minutes while they go "fix the problem"!!!
If I were to recommend this hotel based just on the Leahi service, I would. My overall experience was less than satisfactory.

Rated 2 out of 5 by AliT22 Hotel has great features but rooms not so great
Enjoyed most everything about the Sheraton Waikiki -- helpful staff, beautiful lobby, pool areas, casual seating, great shopping, close proximity to amenities, lots of elevators; however, the rooms were below a "Sheraton" standard. There was no where to sit in the room except for our bed (and the toilet, of course). There were four people staying in the room but the beds were double size -- room was plenty large enough to have queen size beds. Cleanliness of the room was questionable, also.

Rated 2 out of 5 Just A Place to Sleep
Checked in at Midnight, and the only late check out would have cost us another $200, so hanging out at the pool or the beach wasn't really an option. Couldn't use wifi throughout the day once we checked out. Disappointing since we just had terrific experience at the Sheraton in Fiji. Next visit to Waikiki we will try somewhere else.
As for security, this Waikiki Resort being so busy, it would be nice that ONLY people with room keys can go to hotels floors. As of right now, absolutely anybody can go up the elevator to any floor.

The room is too old and inconvenient. We had suite only one bathroom. Bath tub and toilet is the same room. If one use the bath, other have to wait for the bathroom. We also had a bad noise situation from neighbors. Whenever someone use the bath or toilet, it sounds. We could not have good sleep.

One evening we went out on our balcony and when we closed the door the latch dropped into place and locked us out there. It was fortunate that I had my phone. Security was able to let us back in.
Then that night the AC failed and we sweated out our last night.
A major downside of this hotel is the number of small children

Rated 2 out of 5 by Suzy1229 This hotel is very unkind to sick old ladies
I was very disappointed with the service of your hotel. My flight home did to leave until 10:30pm and check out was 11:00am. The day before my departure I had asked the hotel front desk staff if it would be possible to stay in the room or pay for another room because my 79 year old mother was feeling poorly and had not brought enough of her medicine to make through the entire week. The person to whom I spoke stated that she needed to speak to her manager to see how they would be able to accommodate us. They did offer us another room for $330 plus the hotel service fee of $31. We would have to check out of the room and 11am and possibly if a room was ready by 3pm we could check into another room. How insulting was that! What even made me more angry is that when I spoke with several people at the air port while waiting for our flight they told me that their hotels allowed them to stay in their rooms for a $40 fee. So I just want to thank you for treating my 79 year old mother like nothing more than a way to make more money. Shame on you and your staff.
I will never stay at one of your hotels again and I will make sure that everyone I know will be made aware of my reasons why.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed37 Barn-like hotel that lacked atmosphere and quality
This hotel lacked any atmosphere. We were staying in a small room at the end of a long corridor. The in room breakfast was small and over priced. We wanted to buy some bottled water and were required to go to three different floors before buying some (the vending machines had run out of water.) The rooms were noisy. Fortunately for our SPG recognition we were able to jump the enormous queue to check in. All in all, this hotel was extremely disappointing.

didn't like that there was a long when I arrived - a line of 15 people with two desk attendants isn't the "welcome to sheraton waikiki" that I would have liked. Also, the room wasn't cleaned too well, two days in a row. The first day I let it slide, the second day, I called housekeeping to come and clean it up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Hiko Though the SPG APP Showed Availability
I joined a tour from Japan and stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki. Although the SPG APP showed the availability of large ocean front rooms or suites and we fully recognize tour stay is not applicable for SPG Platinum benefit, the receptionist refused to upgrade with room charge difference payment.
Also the building is too old so that the noise from isle or rooms next door sounds terrible.

The hotel bathroom was dirty and sink drained slow when we arrived. The manager was contacted and had housekeeping and engineering fix the problems, but it was very upsetting when you're vacationing and thinking you're in paradise but have to deal with issues right when you get there.

Sheration Waikiki used to be spectacular - now, even with renovation, it is tired and over-priced. We were so disappointed with the hotel. We have been staying here since 1985, but we re not sure if we will be back.

Location excellent, Ocean view was great, Unfortunately was given a room with 2 double beds when should have been given 1 queen, made my romantic stay a bit uncomfortable, generally felt that if I wasn't part of a tour group I didn't matter to them, definitely come back to Hawaii but not stay here again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by NickM Not the best :(
Spent Nearly $2000 For 3 nights, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Expecting alot from my money and all i got that was worth it was the View from my hotel room balcony. The view was amazing but the hotel room was very out dated. I would have been better and more happier staying a $50 a night back packers. I had lamps that didn't work and a piece of glass in my carpet that wasn't cleaned from the last guests( room 2058). There was no service at all any place in the hotel for me. No staff checking up on me to see if i was happy Or needed anything !!!!The only time i got service was when i hired a cabana on Sunday and the waitress dropped a tray of drinks on me. Defiantly not happy with my 3 days...
When i checked out the lady at the counter didn't ask how my stay was. she just walked away !
The only person that was decent and helpful for me was the lady that helped me find my shuttle bus back to the air port.
Very pore effort! i don't think ill ever return or stay in another Sheraton hotel ever again :( I'am a chef in a big hotel in Australia and ill never recomened This hotel to my staff or friends

We are Gold members of starwood. We asked for an upgrade which we are entitled to. Did not get upgraded to club level. Our room had very basic beds not the excellent Sheraton beds we have slept on before. We did not even have a chair in our room let alone a table. I wiil never stay here again or reccomend. This should be a 1 star hotel.

Rated 2 out of 5 by RufusInHI Hit or Miss; More Miss than Hit.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Nothing terribly wrong with this place except for the inconsistent Front Desk and the poor Club Lounge unhospitible service. Having stayed at this properties several times the SPG check in line is hot or cold when it comes to delivering genuine Hawaiian hospitality.
SPG RECOGNITION: Is more miss then hit. The typical excuse is the hotel is sold out of premium rooms and suites, yet a call to SPG reservation or check online shows that the hotels has high category rooms and suites are still available. After complaining to Management; it is amazing for the Hotel to eventually find a suite that was just returned to inventory by the maintenance department. How many of us Seasoned Platinum SPG Members have heard this same excuse time and time again.
THE ROOM: Non-suite rooms are small; typical for Waikiki. If you are very fortunate to get a suite upgrades, the suites are very spacious. Rooms are clean and recently renovated and nicely furnished with Hawaiian theme.
LOCATION: You can't beat it! It is definitely central Waikiki off the main street (Kalakaua Ave); so traffic noise is not an issue.
EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS: Hotel has two swimming pools. The adult only infinity pool (Ewa side) is a nice respite from the loud and crowded main resort pool on the Diamond Head side of the hotel.
DID NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS: Club Lounge while has a spectacular view of Waikiki Beach and Diamond head, the staff is unfriendly and the evening food selection is very stodgy. Lounge Agents are more concerned about whether you are eligible to enter the lounge/ NOTE: access to the lounge requires your room preprogrammed electronic key to unlock the club lounge door which has to be programmed by the Front Desk. Yet you still have to provide your name and room number to the club agent which is validated prior to club entry. I invited two business colleagues to the lounge and was embarrassed and chastised by the Club lounge agent and reprimanded me in front of my guests that the Club lounge was only for Hotel guests. The Club lounge access restricted to only Hotel Guests not allowing the Hotel Guests to bring their guest/friends/family/business colleagues makes no sense especially when alcoholic beverages are not free and provided at an absorbent cost. The is no Aloha in the pretentious Club Lounge. Complaints to Hotel Management went unheeded and meet with curt excuses to defend the club policies.

The Sheraton has a great location...no doubt, but the hotel has seen better days. The hallway wallpaper outside rooms 440,441 was peeling. The shower curtain was very musty and the pipes were very noisy when the shower ran. The check in and check out process is so poorly staffed it is painful. Forty min to check in or out. Sheraton has a system that pulls people from the Starwood Preferred line and if you are a customer in the regular line, you are in purgatory. No guarantee when you may get processed if Starwood customers keep joining their line. All of the tourists who are non-English speaking also slow the process immensely. The lobby and stores are shiny, but the rooms have seen better days. Rooms above the bar area to at least six floors up are VERY noisy until well after midnight.

As a preferred guest, we found no extra attention. We often had to ask for the in-room supply of coffee or the supply of 1 bottle of water. Walls were chipped and dirty in our room. We were unable to secure a late check-out for our evening flight so had to beg for a hospitality room which had dirty towels and hair all over the bathroom - filthy and out-dated decor!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Phoenix Silly...go next door.
We just checked into the Sheraton Waikiki for a three night stay. Having stayed at the remarkable Royal Hawaiian in the past, we thougt we would give the Sheraton a try, as our 12 year old was intrigued by the pool area. What a disaappointment. Check in process was fine, but the staff clearly was not used to giving the "SPG" platinum spiel, and we reminded them multiple times of status, more to make sure we were on the same page rather than to tout our status. The first room had no furniture...this is not a joke. We were told that with the renovation, it was decided that chairs, etc. were superfluous (my word). No SPG floor, no amenities, etc. So, we requested and got another "upgraded room"...still no furniture, two beds that literally listed to the side, no water, no robes, but a view of the ocean. I get the view appeal, although we stated multple times we didn't care about the view, but I think a chair with a back is pretty much standard at any motel. Thankfully, we are only staying three nights...but that doesn't mean I am not checking availability at the Royal Hawaiian. As a final note, we were told thatthe suites get furniture...there are four suites on each floor...good luck!!

The room I was given seemed to be in the "old" portion of the hotel facing the front. The room itself was like an older motel room, not what I would expect for the cost of this facility. The windows were butting up to a flat roof, not even a city view. Very disappointing.

I stayed a partial ocean view room for 2 nights. The hotel needs to improve room cleaning. I found a lot of hair and dust in the room. For example, the lumps got dust all over, and there were hairs on shower curtains and floor. TV remote was not working at all, and the bathtub is pretty old, and dirty. I cannot believe that the hotel charges $300-$400 for this room.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Alex88 Not at all what I expected
I was expecting an extremely nice hotel from top to bottom. However, the rooms were not anything like the other hotels I've stayed at in the area. The carpet had a tear in it. The sheets had holes in them, and when the staff was told, they changed them but the next day put new sheets on that once again had holes in them. There were ants on the balcony that worked their way in to the room and the A/C would take itself off of the manual setting I put it on and change itself back to auto so the room was not at the temperature I preferred. When the hotel staff was informed that the A/C was doing this, they told me all you had to do to change it to manual was press the fan button which I obviously know but that does not address the fact that it changes itself back to auto and turns itself off. Also at one point after the maid had come through our A/C had been changed from 72 to 60. Not satisfied at all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Wkm1914 SPG status meant nothing
The lack of a room on the SPG preferred guest floor proved to be problematic. Additionally, the staff does the bare minimum and they continually remind you that the hotel is always full. It seemed like they wanted me to know that they did not need my business. Additionally, the guest room with partial ocean view was merely a view of the pool. Lastly, I spoke with Doug (manager) and he ensured me that if the hotel was not always full he would ensure that SPG elite status was recognized. Lastly, the guest room was quite noisy as the patio door did not completely close and the wind kept me up throughout the night. The lack of service detracted from my overall experience.
