Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed101 Toronto city of tourism and conventions?
Upon arrival off the very busy streets of toronto we were greated with honking valet drivers and no place to even stop to get our bagagage. After we reached the entrance, no bell hop/no trolley was offered for our luggage. We were two of hundreds attending very expensive staff party. The line to check in was forever long, reservations that were confirmed were reversed for some attendants without one blink or consideration. It was a put up or move on situation for some attendants. The staff was orgainzed confusion; with nothing more then a voicemail to call for answers. For a hotel that holds conventions and large scale parties; I was beside myself at the lack of management available, and the big city attitude to accompany the front line workers. When I went to the bar for a drink i also ordered a soup and there was a fly in my soup, they refunded the soup, but the damage was already done. There were homeless people approaching some attendants at the party on hotel property, one man almost snatching a ladies clutch purse.......not safe! The room was descent in size and clean, and the bed comfortable..... I will give them that. Keep looking!

Unhappy with recent stay when my room type was not honored , room location was directly beside elevator shaft and was extremely loud. Not placed on preferred flloor level either.
Previous stay, I was not informed of pool closure either.

Rated 2 out of 5 by travelbug An old hotel in need of work
We had a two night stay on a weekend. We slept poorly due to noise in the hall by a rowdy crowd. Modern hotels have better sound proofing. The room was old and in need of a retrofit. There was no hotel folder in the room with details of the hotel amenities so I phoned the front desk and they said they would send one up. It never arrived. The Traders and Club Bistro restaurants are very unattrractive spaces. All in all, not my favourite Sheraton though the Sheraton bed is very comfortable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AD66 Tired and way over priced
I stayed at this hotel due to it being downtown with access to the underground network. My stay was terrible I had the worst sleep in any hotel I stayed at, I had the service elevator next to my room that went all night, the furniture is scuffed and tired, the bathroom is tired, I had to sleep with ear plugs and did not wake up rested at all. All of this and $CAD500 per night, nothing like gouging for PDAC, if they are going to charge exorbitant rates they need to at least back it up with half decent rooms. Shocking for the price, it is not even a $200 per night hotel, they exploited the fact it was PDAC but they wont get any business from my company for the rest of the year, this was not a last minute booking either, it was made 6 months prior to my stay.

The rate was $329 plus taxes for one evening. I stayed in a room on the 2nd floor. Woke up to loud noises, screeching brakes at 5:20 and realized it was the street cars. Toilet continued to run after flushing it. No bathrobe. Bathroom only had a light switch...no fan. Not what I expect from the Sheraton. Very disappointed,

Did you add the 500 points from the laundry card/token I gave you at checkout?

Party going on on our floor. Called gusts services who said would send security. Half hour later I called again. Guest services lied and said security already been there and noise must have continued when they left. This was not true. Security finally came again and warned people who went out shortly after but returned at 4am and continued the noise. Should have been evicted.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a 2 day conference. These are my issues:
- many attempts to call the front desk were left unanswered.
- free wifi access for conference guests was not provided upon check-in, although it was available.
- our bathroom was not clean, there was hair on the counter and floor.
- I am still waiting for billing errors to be corrected.
A huge disappointment.

I reserved a two-night stay at this hotel (c/i: Jan 29; c/o: Jan 31/14). This was my third stay at this establishment and will likely have been my last one. My first stay in December 2013 was in the Richmond Tower - a tower that should have been demolished years ago. My second stay was in the main tower in a much better room. For my most recent stay, the room (3626) was appalling. A huge stain at the foot of the bed welcomed me as did two chewed up arms rests on the desk chair. Steve, the person who had checked me in, offered to switch me to another room, which I declined as I was tired and I couldn't be bothered. There is no reason for housekeeping not to make a note of this and make sure that either the carpet is cleaned and/or restored or not to rent out the room until it is. Also, the internet in the room was extremely spotty and after numerous attempts at contacting DataValet I was told that it was my laptop's connection that was faulty although it worked fine at the Club Lounge and in the lobby. As a Platinum member, I’m happy to know that I have choices when coming to Toronto (next visit - March 17) and I can assure you that I will be hard-pressed to ever stay at this establishment again. Should you want contact me, I’m sure you have access to my coordinates from the information shared in this review.

Placing me in a room right beside an icemaker, really, in this day and age you still do that? Non-stop noise throughout the night from the ice machine and other noises running through the complex. Worst night of sleep I have had in years, and this coming from a supposedly high-end hotel chain. Dumbfounding that they still in this day and age do this to paying customers. Never again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dadnie Terrible location of room
We booked a holiday to come to Toronto to see some sights. I had booked here last year for a conference and everything was great. Paid more to stay at Sheraton instead of other local hotels. Check in was great and staff very helpful. Unfortunately our room located in 1114 was right beside the elevators so all he heard all night was the running of the elevators. At first we thought it was airplanes flying overhead, but then realized we were nowhere near the airport. By the time we called the lobby, they did offer another room across from the lobby but our kids were asleep by then and decided not to disturb them. Very disappointed for the amount we paid.

Bathroom faucet wasn't working. Repaired after 2 attempts. Room appeared clean until we found a pair of underwear on the top shelf of the closet and a parking receipt from 6 days earlier. My husband wouldn't let me complain. We called and requested more glasses because there was only 1 glass in the room and 1 Tim's style coffee cup. They delivered 2 wine glasses good enough. Hot tub by the pool was gross. Floating debris really bad. I informed the girl working there. We had a friend stop by at 11 Friday night and were sitting there talking (3 people) when there was a knock at the door. Security. We were talking too loud and if they had to come up again we would be fined $400. I get that noise complaints are common but when there are 3 people talking they could have been less ignorant. We only need to be told once that there was a complaint. We didn't need a threat. Gross housekeeping issues. Disgusting hot tub. Shortage of in room amenities.

Had booked a King room for our wedding anniversary (Jan 14th). Upon checking into the room found that "every" wooden surface was scratched/checked and on the telephone table someone's initials had been carved into the top. After taking a strol about the downtown core returned to the room to find water leaking from the ceiling. The corner chair, wall, carpet and electrical plugs were saturated. Drywall was falling from the ceiling due to the leak. The front desk was contacted and advised that a porter would attend with keys to another room. After waiting 15 - 20 minutes again contacted the front desk as we had a dinner reservation within the half hour. A porter did subsequently attend passing me the keys at the door advising if I didn't like the replacement room to again contact the front desk. There was no offer to assist with luggage nor check the substitute room. He sauntered off down the hall, thanks. Upon checking the substitute room I found it to be a double Queen, how romantic for my anniversary. I did not again contact the front desk as noted prior we had dinner reservations. Do I feel like a preferred quest, I think not. The rooms I refer to are #1089 and #1079, with pictures to verify if you must.

I stay in a lot of hotels. I decided to stay downtown in my city, because I didn't want to drive home New Year's Eve.
It was awful.
I mean I pay $48 for a valet, and their service was absolutely awful. Took 20 minutes to get in, and I had to get out of my car to get service. Really? $48 for no service? They didn't even open my wife's car door.
Upstairs, you can see cracks in the ceilings, and the corridors are super-creepy dark, as in someone can grab you out of the dark and mug you type of dark.
The room itself. Cracks in the ceiling, faded carpets, a bathtub that I wouldn't want to put my body into.
It needs the $40-50 million upgrade to be up to snuff. This hotel is not one I would suggest to stay at, at all. Avoid if you're smart.

I've stayed in many Starwood hotels around the world and this was the worst ever! From the valet parking to my check out.
The valet attendant told us the parking was full and told us to park else where. When we asked if our bags and park we were told no.
The front desk line up was long, understanding it was Christmas they were busy but the front desk agent was not friendly at all. He gave me my key and didn't even ask of I had any questions. So I asked another front desk agent ky questions...yes I got in the big line AGAIN!
When I got to my floor the housekeeper greeted me by making rude comments about my dog and how they shouldn't be allowed. I confirmed with the second front desk agent that dogs were allowed on any floor because I wanted to avoid trouble but here was a staff member making stink.
Next on my horrible stay, went down to the BnB around 4pm to ask about dinner reservations, I was told I didn't need one however when I came back around 6pm to get a table because my kids were now hungry I was told I need a reservation ot had to wait. Got a table at 8pm! The kitchen was backed up so we got put food 30 minutes later...hungry kids and frustrated parents are not a good combination.
So leanrd my lesson and made a reservation for breakfast. The waitress that morning watched up like a hawk, we are young parents but not delinquents! It was very uncomfortable.
The highlight of my stay was the housekeeper once again...as I was packing up I opened the door to my room to grab some ice my dog got out of the room, the housekeeper screamed so I grabbed my dog anf brought him back to the room. Understanding she was scared of dog but what really made it worse was the amount of swearing she used at me in front of my kids!!! My dog was in the room already and she was yelling anf swearing at me was unprofessional and plan rude! I walked and apologized for scaring away knowing my kids were right behind me but her reactions was over the top.
Please train your staff never to judge a book by its covee I maybe young but I'm still human.

I stayed at the Sheraton on Sunday the 8. It took me over 15minutes to check in because the representative was unable to find my reservation. I then was never told the hotel was under renovations. I was put on the same floor as the renovations! And to top it off early in the morning they were testing the fire alarm. All of this could have been avoided had the lady at check in advised me of these concerns.

Have stayed at Sheraton Toronto Centre many times. Normally a good experience. Especially like the pool. I needed to work in the room til noon that morning. Drilling and pounding started at 8am and continued the whole morning. Once I was unpacked I didn't want to pack all up just to unpack and pack again in another room, so tried to make the best of it, but it really ruined my stay. I called the front desk and they said the manager would call me back but I never heard from him/her.

This has to be the worse hotel in the Sheraton Family. If I was going to Sheraton for this first time and I had stayed at this hotel I would never return. I will never return to this hotel. There were no belhops, no parking had to park down the street. No one helped me get my bags to the room, the food I would feed to the rats.

Room was dirty, cold, always a line at the front desk, TV was on the fritz off and on the entire time I was there. Had courtyard room and had an individual pick the wrong room from the outside and try to enter my room. When I complained at the front desk the guy just laughed. Not enough plugs in the room...bathroom was tiny...water in shower cycled hot to cold on its own. Bad experience last time...thought I'd give it another try...NEVER AGAIN

Where do I start? First of all my mattress was broken with flat springs in certain areas of the mattress. My second issue was the smell of the room. It was clearly never properly deodorized from smokers in the past as it had a musty feel and smell over all. My final issue which i have never experienced at any hotel was the heating situation and lack of proper ventilation. The room was so hot it was borderline obnoxious. This was also the same deal with one of my colleagues room. This made the room extremely hard to get a good nights sleep. This caused sinus flareups and constant sweats. I plan on visiting Toronto many times over the next two years and at this time I do not think I would return nor would I send any of my colleagues to your hotel at this time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by cat87 for the price, this hotel did not meet my expectations
I don't know what I was expecting, but for the $$$$ I did expect more out of my room. We had a king size bed which was comfortable, but the room was very warm. We had turned the heat down when we got into the room to the lowest it would go this did not make a difference. The bathroom is small...no counter space at all and you have to try and dry your hair over the toilet because this is where the outlet is.
Also was not informed of the construction on the street that started at 7 a.m. outside our window. Rooms are not very sound proof...heard people coming onto our floor talking till 1:30 in the morning and water running... I'm assuming from other rooms.
Our son and daughter-in-law had the room beside us and they also had the same complaints.
Would have mentioned it upon check out, but was too tired and the man working at the front desk did not bother to ask how our stay was.
We travel for a month at a time every year and have stayed in many hotels and for what you get this Sheraton hotel is WAY over priced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by EpicELFail This hotel did not honour our reservation as requested
All of our requests were not met regarding the floor requested: 7 - 11; and type of room and our early check in time for 1:00pm as per our written reservation request. Not only could they not meet the early registration, they could not meet the standard time of 3:00pm and we were threatening to cancel our reservation when it was two hours later for a 5:00pm check in and we were sitting in shopsy's trying to find food as the restaurant did not even have meals they could offer us at this time!
We spent over $100.00 for drinks and appetizers while waiting!!
The hotel did nothing to try and offer us a satisfactory resolution other than offering to let us DOWNGRADE from our original request WHICH THEY COULD NOT HONOUR!! I expected to be offered some options to pay for an upgrade!!!
When we went to access the "pull-out' couch in the room IT WAS BROKEN!!!!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!! IT NEEDED TO BE IMMEDIATELY THROW INTO THE TRASH!!! IT IS GARBAGE!!!
Rather than trying to attempt to help us move to another room for a proper night's sleep or to reimburse us in any manner; the hotel's solution was to wheel in a single bed 'cot'.
I am in horror and shock that this is the practice of the Sheraton. I booked in advance, and made at least three phone calls during the week before to confirm that all was written and described in our reservation request. I was prepared for you to be busy, as I have stayed during the Calvalcade of Lights events before, HOWEVER; I could never have prepared myself for this outrage and series of events!!! UNPROFESSIONAL, UNEXPECTED AND UNACCEPTABLE for any hotel, but particularly from what i would expect from the Sheraton Hotel....it is an aberration from anything I could have prepared myself and my children for.

Although I had reserved my room over a month and a half earlier, the hotel was unable to fulfill it's commitment to a King bed, not even a queen size was available, had to settle for two double beds. Room was within 15ft of the elevators, and the hotel does not turn off the elevator bell during sleeping hours. The deal breaker was, not being able to cool the room to set point, in fact the room temperature went to 28C with no control. Absolutely terrible stay. Very disappointing for a hotel with this supposed reputation.

I:m a loyal customer and stay at your hotel for both business and personal use , this last stay was the most disappointing to me , I found that my concerns were not address by the desk mamager and went on deaf ears. when I come to stay I alays request a refrigerator for medical reasons , check in time was 3:00 pm and when I checked in at 3:30 I was told they were all out and no one seemed to care that I had medication that needed to be refrigerated it took 3 phone calls after checking in to get someone to agree to keep my meds in a refrigerator I was told someone would come to pick it up I waited 1 1\2 hours and no one came . called again to be told that they were not aware of the previous phone call. fond this totally unacceptable and I hope that I don't run in to the same problems with my up coming stay.d

Rated 1 out of 5 by Humer Understaffed and needs updating
The room I originally was given was to be a room with a queen size bed and was told that it was a quiet room. The room was tiny, tiny, with a long hallway and very small sleeping area. The bed was a double, not a queen size and I could hear the freight elevator go by every three minutes with a broken cart wheel sound. To me, it felt like I was staying in a basement of a old suburban home rather than a large hotel in the middle of Canada's largest city. I phone the front desk and asked what size the bed was, which I was told, a double. Okay, I can deal with that, but it was the noise that finally got me. At Midnight, unable to sleep, I had to go down to the front desk with bed head to get another room. Pack up and move to another room, not a good first night. I asked why they rent the room out with the freight elevator in need of maintenance, I was told that they have to rent out the room. That some people don't mind the noise, ( I didn't realize that a noisy room was a selling feature of the hotel). During my stay, it took much too long for the hotel operator to pickup, which leads me to believe that the hotel is understaffed, and the pop machines were not refilled frequently as they should have been. I had to go to five different floors before I was able to purchase the pop I wanted. What is up with the total lack of glassware in the rooms? plastic cups are tacky and not good for the environment. My overall impression is that for a hotel of it's size and location needs to increase it's staff levels to increase the service levels and it needs huge amount of updating, very dated. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone. i have stayed in many hotels in my line of work, and this one disappointed me right from the start.
