Rated 5 out of 5 by Pleasant Stay The accommodations were quite comfortable. Location worked out well for our purposes, primarily visiting out son at NYU. Courteous staff. Roof deck for SPG members is quite lovely, though service there was a bit lacking. All in all, a very enjoyable experience. May 13, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great location, hotel has shown recent degradation This is a great location. This hotel used to be one of my favorites. Recently though, i have to say that it is kind of gone downhill, in terms of food availability (restaurant is hardly open), lobby/entrance is not quite clean and rooms are also just so so. Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor service - will not return I've stayed at the Sheaton Tribeca at least 5 times in the past year. This previous visit will be my last. My room did not receive maid service and, when I called to complain to the manager, I never received a return call. This on top of the fact that the elevators are slow and the fact that it took me 15 minutes to check out will force me to go to other/better options in the Tribeca area for my monthly trips to NY. Rated 5 out of 5 by Bed, shower, staff, view, location - fab! After a week in this hotel, I decided to extend my stay and also book a return trip in March. It was my first experience of the famous Sheraton bed and omg - no hype, it was wonderful. As was the shower - very important - and the location is superb. Being on the border of Tribeca, SoHo, and Chinatown really puts you at the heart of NYC. The only less-than-great aspect of my stay was the requirement that I 'check out' and then 'check in' again in order to extend my stay. That was inconvenient and unnecessary - other hotels manage such issues without putting the guest to any inconvenience. Other than that - five stars. January 6, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not coming back I specifically booked this hotel to gain SPG points, only to find out they don't honor points if its booked through Expedia (even though the Expedia rate is higher). This started me off on the wrong foot. After that, the breakfast buffet is lower quality food than you can get at a Dennys - fake scrambled eggs, soft greasy bacon, and heated up sausage patties. The bar was infested with fruit flies, and the rooms were average. Expected much more. August 6, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Worst Starwood Stay Yet I have stayed at a lot of Starwood properties (I'm platinum) and this was by the far worst. Customer service was horrible. I was dissatisfied with the hotel, room, facilities, etc. and when I asked to stay for just one night and check out a night early (to move to another Starwood property), I was told they wouldn't let me. They preferred I stayed at a place I wasn't happy with? I don't get it... In addition to this, the lock on my room was broken and the maid would leave it open when she was done cleaning. It's a good thing my items weren't stolen! The front desk clerk told me he was giving me a premium room since I was platinum. Turns out this room was right on Canal Street. My colleague's room was much nicer and quieter and he doesn't have any status with Starwood. Overall, I would never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. October 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Friendly Staff and great location I stayed here during a trip to New York for a wedding. The staff was so helpful and friendly the entire weekend! They helped with navigating the city and making arrangements for us to get around. The rooms are comfortable, clean and we had a great view. It is so calm as soon as you walk in compared to the hustle on the city streets. The hotel is walking distance from the subway, Little Italy, China town and so many great sites. So convenient! Rated 4 out of 5 by This hotel has a great club lounge We loved the club lounge on the 21st floor at the Sheraton Tribeca. We enjoyed sitting outside for breakfast and taking in the New York City skyline!!! August 1, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lower Experience I've been to this hotel many times for business, and this time I came with family and friends for a fun NYC trip. The not-as-usual experience started at the beginning when both of our rooms were not ready, even though we arrived at 4pm. I understand that rooms may not be ready when I arrive say earlier in the day, but 4pm there should something available. This was the same for both of our rooms, the other family that I was traveling with. The second issue was the Club Lounge. Yes I understand that this is a gratis service, but it was continually out of at least 2-3 items (food, drinks, plates) and the area not cleaned in a timely manner, plates were continually stacked everywhere. I make it a point to always bring plates back and though this practice is not always done by other travelers, but it was unusually messy throughout every breakfast service we attended. I've had better Lounge service in this and many other Sheratons in the past. The last issue was with the valet. We called ahead for one of our cars which was parked by your service. We called 15 minutes before we checked out of our rooms thinking that we gave enough time for the car to be brought over by the time that we left the rooms, went down the elevators, paid our bills and handed over the keys. That did not happen as our car arrived 1.5 hours AFTER we called for it. Not acceptable. August 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst overall experience of all my SPG stays Very expensive for what it was - $500pn in a shoe box. Room 2103 was right next to service door. Staff went in and out at all times of day and night and door slammed waking us up. Advised staff but little they could do as hotel was full. Facilities in room only large enough for 1 person - space for suitcases, hanging/cupboards etc. Staff were friendly and helpful but little they could do. I have never felt more ripped off in life. Rated 4 out of 5 by A great Staff! The hotel was typical of what I expected, but the staff was exceptional. Everyone was accommodating and courteous. We arrived late and the room type we booked was not available. They made arrangements to put us into two rooms for the night and move us the next day. The following day, everything was taken care of. We called for some extra towels and linens and received them in a matter of minutes. I could go on and on... August 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by I Felt Like a Boss I drove right into Manhattan and right up to this hotel. I felt like a boss. May 14, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Rooms so small you couldn't get the suitcase past the bed. This was a club level room. Maybe because it was in a corner, the configuration didn't work. Website said .3 mi to the 9/11 Memorial Site. Chose this hotel so we could walk there before taking a cruise the next day. (Our cabin was bigger than the room!!) Much further and the surrounding area was really seedy. Club breakfast was adequate, while the terrace had an incredible view. Thankfully we were only there one night. July 22, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by An overall good experience Staffs are warm and welcoming, rooms are clean and it earns its 4 star title. There's a couple of issues that I've encountered, however, makes me a bit frustrated during my stay. I was told by one technical support through a phone call that I need to pay 10 dollars for every single device I connected to the Internet. I was like, you have to be kidding me, it's a 4 star hotel, and I pay 200 per night, I've never had such experience in any hotel that Internet fee is charged based on the number of devices. Anyway, at check out, the lady at the front desk told me that I only need to pay 10 per room for 24 hours of Internet usage. So, again, back to the point that it's all about different individuals, and I still have no clue why the heck the technical guy tried to rip me off. In addition, they didn't recognize me as an SPG gold member, which is a bit weird too, cuz apparently I am. July 8, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel - needs some food & bev help SPG Platinum - first stay at this property. Great location, nice lobby & bar area made for a great first impression. Staff was accommodating as expected. All good... except - went down to bar for late dinner on Wed. after a long day, didn't feel like venturing out. They bar was out of several varietals of wine and bourbon. My salmon took almost an our - kitchen "forgot" to fire it. The bartender was super nice about it and couldn't stop apologizing. In short - need a food & bev manager to maintain proper inventory & button up the kitchen. Otherwise, great property that I wouldn't hesitate to stay at again. June 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stay Nice hotel, friendly attentive staff, always willing to oblige, we chose for the great location downtown, which made it easy to get around. April 25, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good hotel but understaffed The hotel is nice and clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Biggest problem was it seemed to be understaffed at front desk, bar and club lounge. Frequently found only one person manning each location during busy times. July 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sightseeing The hotel is just fine when you want to do downtown Manhattan sightseeing. The rooms are a bit small, but okay if all you want to do is sleep there. Free internet is available in the lobby. A real breakfast from the hotel restaurant is very expensive, so it will have to be something from the coffee shop in the lobby or from Dunkin Donuts across the street. July 6, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Below expectations Though I didn't arrive until 11pm, I ended up with one of their worst possible rooms. It was handicap accessible room directly outside the noisy elevators. It was late and I simply asked for a different room the following night and nobody ever got back to me. As a SPG Gold member, I stay at Starwood properties frequently and usually get much better service. The room was poorly cleaned the following day (missing towels, toilet paper and remaining trash). The gym is fairly pathetic and filthy. I was able to catch an earlier flight and leave a day early and when I checked out at noon, they charged me for an extra night even though the cancellation policy was same day at 6pm. I plan to call Starwood and try to get a refund and complain about their manager who told me that he would email me to followup but I have yet to receive an email from him. On the positive side, there is a great juice bar next door and $1 pizza slices across the street. October 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wedding Weekend My husband and I were referred to this Sheraton for a wedding stay. The staff, to a person, were fabulous, guiding us and advising us. Everyone was sweet and kind. The bathroom needed some touching up, but the room itself was sparkling clean. We were quite pleased by the location, the quality of the staff and the value we received for our money. Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel had everything I needed, and then some! I went to NY to meet my son and help him find an apartment. He wanted to live in Chinatown so I booked the Sheraton Tribeca, thinking we would be close to his search area. The hotel is new, it's compact but makes excellent use of space, and has everything one could possibly need beginning with the Starbucks kiosk in the lobby to the Business Center, another restaurant and a knowledgeable and friendly front desk and concierge staff. I made use of the Fitness Center which offers a good choice of equipment and we were upgraded to the Lounge level where I enjoyed the rooftop garden and the amenities of the Lounge on a daily basis. The room was well appointed with a flat screen tv, comfy chair, a desk and chair and an armoire with a safe. The bathroom was pristine with a contemporary flair. The location was not ideal for theatre, museums or Central Park, but I had such a great experience that I would probably stay here again and make the commute! May 24, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This Hotel has what you need The hotel has rooms and features that provide you with everything you need and nothing unnecessary. Rooms are simple and clean. Facilities include a nice small gym and a great little roof top patio connected to the lounge. Accessible by the Red, Blue and Yellow subway lines and close to West/East Village/Soho and down town for fun and work. July 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mother/daughter holiday My daughter & I usually stay in mid town, but decided to try TriBeCa this time. It is a great location, so convenient to SoHo shopping and restaurants. Staff were all so friendly and helpful: Front desk, concierge, room service, bar, housekeeping, and the determined young man who went above & beyond to get us a cab! Will definitely be back. Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Staff In town for 4th of July. Had sent a note requesting high floor with fireworks view which was honored. Fast, easy check in/out. Staff was helpful, friendly and courteous. Gave out cold water bottles at front door to help beat the heat. Location was easy to navigate from village to soho to tribecca. Would definitely recommend and stay again. July 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location and staff The hotel is on the border of Tribeca and Soho, two of my favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan. There are so many great restaurants and shops within walking distance. There are also main subway lines nearby to be able to get anywhere in the city quickly. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. They make me feel very welcome and my stay feel like home away from home. July 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Eddie C. I travel all over the world and stay at many high end hotels in executive suites most of the time. As an executive member and an SPG card holder for years, I have been given the opportunity to stay at the Sheraton with complimentary drinks worldwide in the lounge. I was surprised that was not the case here at the Sheraton Tribeca. I am aware that rules are different in the States compared to overseas but I was hoping that complimentary drinks and better food would have been provided. Having said that, the staff treated me and my son very nice during our two separate stays in August. One person I would like to recognize is Eddie C. He greeted us at the door entrance and continued to take care of us every time we saw him in the lobby. What a great guy and a helpful employee you have there. I hope he is treated well by the Tribeca management. I don't think you want to see this guy get away. I can't say enough about him and was really the only bright spot of our visit to the Tribeca Sheraton. August 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great downtown location and views Location and views from the excellent club lounge are unbeatable. The roof top club lounge is amazing. The hotel is well managed and staff is friendly and competent. Great breakfast in club lounge, too. The room was small and the storage space for clothes was ridiculous...welcome to Manhattan! August 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by friendly and relaxed I liked the location, and the staff was very helpful, specially Eddie the door man. My stay was short. Only issue I had was the noisy vending machine in the hallway close to my room. Since I am a light sleeper and very noise sensitive, I should have notified the front desk in advance. Rated 5 out of 5 by What a surprise! Walk into the hotel and what a surprise to see a modern, well-designed, efficient lobby with an eager staff willing to quickly please. The rooms are clean and quiet. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and fresh. Everything one would need for a stay in NYC. July 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very comfortable hotel I was so impressed with this hotel. I picked it from Triple A website to go with our flight. Location was great. Close to Little Italy and Chinatown. The breakfast was great!! The view from the top of the hotel was also great. Sad to leave there yesterday! We had so much fun! June 21, 2013
