I have stayed multiple times at this property for both business and pleasure. This time something was off and absolutely different (and not in a good way). I had requested a certain type of suite since I was traveling with family this trip and requested an early arrival. When I booked my reservation, As a platinum member, I was told that should not be an issue and it would be done. Since I had great experiences before I trusted and thought why check if I was told it would be done. Upon my arrival, the parking attendants were as friendly and nice as always; however, the 2 front desk ladies were apparently having a bad day ( I checked in on Saturday 11/2/13 at 1:00pm) I was immediately told I was way too early and check in was not until 3:00pm. I told them that I had called when I made my reservation, and as a platinum member I was told it was ok to check in early. Apparently that upset them. My room was finally ready at 2:48 pm and it was not the type I had requested, when I tried to explain, the second lady told me in no certain terms: “how many people are with you? When I tried to explain why I needed the type of room, she cut me mid-sentence and said: “you are not answering my question and anyways this room accommodates the number of people we are full and just be happy with it”. A very poor experience considering I have stayed here in multiple occasions and had excellent experiences in all cases. I was planning on staying here again next month, but with this last experience maybe a different property will do.
Rated 3 out of 5 by LovetheMouse Pool is great!
The pools and outside bar were wonderful. The pool had a place to relax and a place for the kids to have fun. The rooms were just OK. The halls were very cold and the bathrooms needed to be updated.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Neal1954 Check in was a let-down
After requesting early check-in when I made these reservations in Aug. I was told that every effort would be made to accomodate this request. Well upon arrival Oct 18th, at 12:30pm we were told that not only could they not accomodate early check-in but that it would probably be no earlier than the normal 3pm check-in. We were not offered any resolution to this inconvience such as "let us take your bags for you" or " you may change in a changing area and use the pool if you wish". We decided to leave the hotel with a promise from the front desk agent to call my cell # when the romm is ready. We are still waiting for that calll!! We came back at 3pm and were told that the room is still not ready! We went to the pool to ?relax? and at 4pm I could'nt take any more "relaxing" so I went in to complain to the manager. The desk clerk said our room was ready and gave me the key-cards. I cut my losses and just walked away. Not a good way to start what was supposed to be a wonderful Conference that weekend. It clouded the rest of our stay with you. When housekeeping can't keep up with demand then its evident management is the responsible party. There are ways to aviod this kind of treatment.

This was a good value for the deal we got. Room was a little smaller than we are used to staying in. Close to many things--especially restaurants and parks. Disappointed in Palm 27. Food was not as good as I hoped especially for the money spent. Waitress was very inattentive but it was nice to have dinner by the pool and fire pit.

The hotel was in a great location. I was a little disappointed that my room door was broken. When we first arrived to the room we could not even get in. Overall it is just an average stay.

We had three parties with us in 3 different rooms. Our room overlooked parking lot and was right over a broken hinged gate that slammed all night long. Rooms were nice and clean. One of the 3 rooms did have a cockroach in the bathroom. Stair wells were filthy! Pool was nice & comfortable. Not sure the surprise "resort fees" at check out are in order. I have stayed at several resorts and never paid such a thing. If you want to do that, include it in the price because that was a huge turn off to us...especially when you aren't a huge glamorous resort to begin with.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lynnstravel Needs to respond to customers more appropriately
We arrived at midnight, to find that our room had no AC (in August). My daughter was exhausted as she had to get up for soccer tournament and we needed to leave at 5:30. When I suggested they comp our room and give us my points back, the lady at the desk didn't agree.
Noisy room right on busy road so insulation was terrible. Trying to leave at 5:30, the exit gate would not open and I had to park and go into the hotel to let us out. Very aggravating and not a good stay.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Wyatt2013 It Could Be better
Congested location, but with lots of dining choices nearby. This hotel is not maintained to the level expected to be associated with Starwood. Elevators are old, slow and out of order. Popular with familes due to location and pricing. Needs alot of attention to detail and daily maintenance. Staff were very pleasant and professional.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Sony53 This hotel is fairly good
Air condition is very noisy and does not cool during day time, elevators old, not clean and
their waiting loby is very poor with broken doors.

I felt that the hotel mattress needed turning. The towels were dingy and appeared worn. The food was not that good, except for the oatmeal. The Cabana was over priced. The pricewas $70 - 90 for the day. None of the units were in use and there was no provision to rent for shorter periods of time. I spent time at the W in MIami and to rent space on the beach with an umbrella was a fraction of the cost. Was not that impressed.
However, the hotel was in close proximity to my meeting.

For the Sheraton reputation. It needs to clean up. In the literal sense.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Carlo123 This hotel needs improvements
First we got stuck in the elevator. the phone in our room did not work. The shower has very poor water pressure. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the overall condition of the lobby and pool area was neat and clean.
Rated 3 out of 5 by dq101710 Overcharged for a Disappointing Stay
The hotel was chartered by an event planner the entire weekend I visited. The events consisted of pool parties and evening functions that attracted many non-hotel guests. Due to this, I and many other hotel guests were forced to self-park in a strip mall parking lot 2 blocks down the street. The parking was not secure and the walk to the hotel in the late evening by an all-female group of us was not what we expected when we booked the hotel. To add insult to this, upon check-out, I was charged $10 per day for 4 days, for each vehicle for a total of $80.00!!!!! WHen I discussed this with the agent, she stated this was hotel policy and I had agreed to pay the $10 per day upon check-in. Simple as that! As to having to park 2 blocks away, she said, "Well, at least we had parking available for you." Not my idea of customer service, to say the least. I WILL NOT return. In addition, rooms were serviced as late as 5:30PM some days, due to the events taking place and the staff working in other areas of the hotel.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nope39 Felt old and slightly dirty
This complex feels and looks every bit of it's advanced age. The building is dingy, rooms are dark, and have a "never quite clean" feeling to them.

I went for an event an was happy that the staff was friendly. The furniture is modern and room was comfortable.

Pluses: The room was comfortable, quiet, good price.
1)Wall type A/C noisy; as they all are, really belongs in a cheap motel, not a Sheraton!
2)Resort fee, really just a forced charge for parking and Internet; which worked poorly in the room, by the way!
3)Transportation to/from Disney was inconvenient; don't offer if not ready to make it useable, ended up driving because wanted to take a break from Disney during the middle of 14 hours!
4)No transportation to Disney shopping area!
5)Tried to purchase Disney Tickets from Hotel twice; staff lost interest when I declined opportunity to attend a presentation!
Rated 3 out of 5 by MA38 kids loved pool area
we live in Sarasota and take kids to Orlando 4-5 time a year. Hotel was just ok. Pool area was great for kids and there were a lot of kids! Hotel is on busy street and sirens woke us up 3--4 times a night. Pool was open to 11pm but pool food and bar closed at 9:30? Inside bar also closed at 10:30. No food after 11pm whatsover. There are better hotels on disney grounds just as cheap if you look for the good deals. I would stay somewhere else next time.
Rated 3 out of 5 by JH55 Nice hotel but pool service was disappointing
The hotel was nice and you can tell they put a lot of $$ into upgrading the building and the amenities. We booked this hotel primarily for the great pictures of the pool area. It is set up to look like a tropical paradise, but unfortunately the service didn't match the pictures. We ordered dinner at the pool grill one night (not cheap for a family of 4) and waited over an 1 1/2 hours for our burgers and fries. We ended up having to throw most of the food away b/c my two small children fell asleep while they were waiting! Then, there was $140 gratuity added to my hotel bill the next day (keyed in by mistake I'm assuming). When I mentioned it to the front desk, they were apologetic and removed the gratuity after 20 minutes of researching the situation. However, I didn't feel like they went above and beyond to correct the situation. In a tourist area with hundreds of other hotel options, I think customer service should be the #1 priority. The hotel was fine, but I would probably choose to stay somewhere else next time based on the level of service here. No huge incentive to come back!
Rated 3 out of 5 by Diddy5 Decent room/questionable depiction of room
Please note that the sink area is in the bedroom/hallway - a little weird, no privacy. The hallways, air/heating system (very noisy) elevators and certain common areas could use some updating. However, very comfy beds- a decent stay '3 star' stay.
Oh...great crab cakes at the bar and good on site shop.

The outer door to our building was not locked at night. As two single females we did not feel totally secure at night.
Also - I loved having the transportation provided to the parks, but the pick-up and drop off location was remote and there was no seating.
Rated 3 out of 5 by mdsjlh Avoid the "Executive Suite", but they solved it.
We recently stayed 3 nights here. To preface, we've stayed at Sheratons all over the place with the Starwood network and have always really liked them. In this case, we were disappointed that they couldn't guarantee us 2 adjoining rooms, so we paid extra and reserved the large Executive Suite instead, as we had the whole family along including young kids. Seemed like a great fix. But, the room turned out to be horrible. First off the decor screamed 70s (although it's clear they were trying to go for hip/retro). But, felt a little dingy/old. It's located in a tiled hallway that is open-air to the lobby and elevator shaft. It was like sleeping in a locker room. Voices, kids yelling, luggage banging, front desk phone ringing all night, etc. We didn't sleep till almost 2 AM aftter stuffing towels around the whole door to muffle some of the noise. Then, to cap it all off, there was a prom on site that night so we heard the music from that till midnight. We called the front desk and they said they'd send security but nothing changed.
The good news is that the next day they moved us to the top floor, at the end of the hall with 2 adjoining rooms. Much nicer, more comfortable and quiet. So, kudos for that.
The last complaint we had though was the shuttle service to the parks. The times are very infrequent and the buses looked like they'd been through a bumper cars course. We were surprised to see such shoddy transportation for a Sheraton. It worked, but we really had to struggle to figure out how to get back and forth each day with kids.
With that said, I'll give staff credit for really trying to make things better and they were all friendly (especially the bell hops). So, it ended up OK. Just disappointing based on stays at other Sheratons around the country.

Good value and great location.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Honestbroker Nicely remodeled property
The hotel has been nicely remodeled. The lobby is contemporary and attractive. The buffet breakfast far better than what one would expect at a comparable hotel. The pool area is beautifully maintained and staffed with attentive spa personnel.
We encountered two disappointments. First, while our room was clean, among the first things I noticed was a stain on the comforter. Honestly did not want to think about it an just pulled the comforter off the bed. Sheets appeared to be very clean.
Secondly, we had hoped to rely on the advertised shuttle service to take us back and forth between the parks. The shuttle bus, when it first arrived, was old but clean. The return shuttle was even older and less clean, and very crowded (people standing in the aisle). In addition to quality issues, the shuttle did not run fruquently enough. My wife and I remarked that other hotel shuttles looked much cleaner as we saw several from the same hotel come and go from the park pickup area while we waited for our single, dilapidated, overly crowded bus to come and get us.
Next time we come, we'll try one of the properties advertised on one of their gleaming and frequent shuttle buses we saw while waiting for ours. We had plenty of opportunity to memorize the names of them while waiting on the hot pavement with tired children. Or, we'll just plan to drive to the park.
If you find the Sheraton to be a true bargain and are willing to drive to the park, it's a good place to stay.

This hotel located within 10 minutes drive to main Disney attractions, Universal tudios and Seaworld. Nice property, modern design. It has two big pools and a wather slide. Pools need better cleaning as there was hair floating in the water. Elevators need tune up maintenance, it was shaking and making noise. Staff was extremely polite and helpful.

I arrived from a long trip hoping to relax in a king-sized bed per my reservation. The hotel did not have any. I was promised 1000 Starwood points and never received them.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lisa79 This hotel has good location
the front desk staff were amazing,
The pool bar/resturaunt staff were awful. they were unattentive. It was difficult to impossible to get their attention for service at the bar or pool side. Our cheer group has stayed at the hotel for years and have never experienced such sub standard service. that would be one reason I hesitate to recomend the hotel. i know we are a large group but your kitchen staff know we are coming months in advance and should be prepared food and service wise to accomodate our needs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AMPS66 Had to Request Nearly Everything
After check-in and getting to room, had to go back to front desk and request all coffee items (except the coffee maker) to be sent to room. Also had to inquire to receive my Gold level complimentary wifi, and it was then set up for me post check-in.
