Amazing property in the heart of Philadelphia Historic District! We stayed here in July with our family and were throughly impressed. The location is superb and a brief walk to all the historic sites. The staff was polite, welcoming, and helped with recommendations for the surrounding area. The hotel was beautiful and upscale for a Sheraton level brand. The Sheraton Club for Gold and Platinum members was beautiful with vaulted window ceilings and a espresso machine. Cannot say enough goods things about this property, would highly recommend!

Loved the hotel. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms were very clean and nice. Read in one of the reviews bathrooms are small. They are not. The pool are was clean and the kids loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful with their suggestions on things to do in the area.

Read where recently renovated. If so, Sheraton was 'played' when it comes to the bathroom reno. Which is to say there's no room. In the bathroom. Not enough space to put my things and keep in one place. And why in this day and age do I have to ask for a small room fridge? And only get it if "there is one available." (One became available on day 2 of 4 day stay. With temps in 90s.) And maybe offer pepper spray for guest's peace of mind. When the a/c unit kicking on in the middle of the night jolts you awake because it sounds like someone kicking in your door. All that said, great location, though. Historical attractions, eateries and bars, and business district all within short walking distance. And hotel restaurant/bar was pretty good for a hotel restaurant and bar. Very friendly, courteous, and helpful staff there (bar) and at front desk/door too.

This hotel is a full non smoking hotel, yet the rooms smell like after smoke. The hotel does not provide free wifi in rooms like most other hotels. They don't provide a refrigerator when requested. They do not allow a microwave. Not an enjoyable place for a business trip where you need wifi and a place to warm up your dinner.

It is in a fabulous location in the city, close to all activities and sights. Staff is great, check-in was super easy and smooth, very attentive. Will definitely go back on next trip.

I thought the hotel was great but for almost $400 per night there are a couple of areas where the service was less than expected.
My experience with the valet at the hotel was as follows… Paid $36 per day for valet parking and the one time I needed my car it took 40 mins to get it. When I needed a cab I had to go out to the corner to get my own as there was no one around from the hotel. When I returned to valet the car again I parked it myself and went to find the valet who was eating to give him the keys. That was by far the worst I have seen from any hotel brand.
The other area was the Sheraton Club which was always crowded and as a result under supplied.
Everything else was ok but these two areas where so bad, I though I should bring them to someones attention.

First of all the front desk was extremely responsive and the bell staff was great! The first room I was assigned smelled like cigarette smoke (I have asthma) but I stayed in the room then I realized the coffee maker was broken after I filled it and found two coffee filters shoved in there. I tried taking it to the bathroom and coffee water was everywhere! I changed rooms. The second room's toilet ran and it was very loud; I changed again. The third room's A/C "banged" so loudly when on auto. I didn't change rooms coz it was embarrassing so I just turned it off in the middle of the night. Then I realized that the safe was locked (I didn't want to take my laptop and iPad with me) but I didn't want to call to Front to have someone open it. Too many issues however minor.

What a disappointment. We stayed here with our 2 young children only to find out after check in that there was a wedding and the cocktail hour and after party took place in the lobby. It was crowded, loud and difficult to get in and out of the hotel. It took us 45 min both times we used the valet to get our car. The room service menu was very limited and way too expensive for what they were serving....15 for a min burger sliders for a kid with no side or drink?!
The staff should have informed us of what was going on in the hotel and should have accommodated us with a room further from the noise so our kids were not up until 2 am!
We will not be back and we will be sure to inform others of this low quality hotel!

My stay at the Society Hill Sheraton in Philly can be summed up in one detail: Pretzels. Hot, tired, grouchy after our long car trip to the hotel, we walked into the beautiful, cool lobby and were greeted by a table of soft pretzels and glasses of lemonade. It instantly put us in the best mood.
It was just one, small detail, but it made a world of difference. That kind of thing - a small detail that meant a lot - happened over and over again during our stay. The gym had a fridge with cool towels. There were always newspapers available at the front desk. It took a really nice hotel experience and made it...great.
Oh - and did I mention it's all walking distance from landmarks like Ben Franklin's grave, the Liberty Bell and the Betsy Ross house? And the surrounding street is filled with quirky, delicious restaurants?
We loved it. You'll see us again.

I was in town on business and traveling with a few others. Decided to give this side a town/hotel a shot. Very glad we did, great location with a whole lot in walking distance. Friendly staff and a solid bartender. I'll be back staying here for business and pleasure soon. Enjoyed my Suite night rewards for a Jr. Suite that was very comfortable as well.

I spent two nights recently at the Sheraton Society Hill. The hotel itself is well maintained and pleasant (based on my stay on the club floor). My otherwise positive stay was impacted, however, by the gross incompetence of the valets. The valet could not figure out how to start my car, which is nothing unusual or exotic. They assumed the battery was dead and inconvenienced me for over an hour when there was nothing wrong with the car. This impacted my plans for the day. In the end I had to drive the car out of the hotel garage myself. The hotel still charged me for the valet, after promising to refund the fees due to the problems. A week has past and I'm still waiting for the promised refund.

We loved our stay at this hotel. As it happened we had a family emergency and all of the hotels in the city were booked for a large medical convention during part of the time that we needed hotel rooms. The staff was very kind and we were given priority for any cancelations that would allow us to extend our stay as needed and things worked out very well, Even got to stay on the Club floor.

This hotel is perfectly located to explore all the historical attractions that Philly has to offer. The team members are a pure delight - we had a wonderful welcome from AC at the front desk and the staff in the Exec Club room were just the nicest, most accommodating, and friendly team ever. Our kids loved the pool and being able to explore the many engaging areas of the lobby. The apps, breakfast and snacks in the club room are just perfectly suited for a bit of relaxing. The only small item is that the comforter on the bedding was rather stiff and super heavy so each night we removed them but then were a bit cold. I wished these were different.
Overall, the property has come a long way after the renovations and the staff is highly engaged and very welcoming. We will be back!

Everything was wonderful we checked in late after a wedding and everything seemed up to par.. once we came back to our room from the bar late night with other wedding guests, we went to sleep. Shortly after we kept hearing a beeping noise.. after finally giving up on sleep we realized it was the smoke detector. By the time we figured it out it was to late and we needed to meet for breakfast. Maybe these things should be changed more often so that it doesn't distrupt sleep.

The Wi-Fi in the room was not free nor was it good. My daughter had a hard time connecting to do her homework. The only ice machine was on the 3rd floor or you could call room service. That was very inconvenient. The rooms are off a balcony over the entrance and it is very loud. People were still shouting at midnight in the lobby. The room service breakfast was cold. It was very disappointing since we were booked in here by the sport tournament we were attending and with no free breakfast for the team I ordered room service so my daughter had a good breakfast. She did not.

My stay was as near to perfect as one can get. My club room was beautiful and extremely clean. The king size bed was incredibly comfortable! The club lounge was also very comfortable and always fully stocked with beverages and snacks. Nightly Hors d'oeuvres are well presented and delicious! The Continental breakfast was also very good. I enjoyed my stay so much that I am booking another one soon. Thanks again to everyone at The Sheraton for a wonderful stay!

I'll start with the good, the room was clean and serviceable. The fella that checked me in was very polite and helpful. That's where the good ends.
Now onto the bad.. well, the desk staff on checkout wasn't unpleasant face to face but acted more like I was an inconvenience. I put out my breakfast card the evening before and it was never picked up.. put it out at 10 pm, well before the 2am cutoff. The kicker though is what the valet's were doing with my car. Dash cams are a wonderful thing really. I didn't appreciate the driving lessons or racing around the parking garage in my car. I wish I could attach the file here so you all could have a look. Unless due to some crazy circumstance I cannot control I will not stay at this hotel again.

I chose this hotel due to location and was not disappointed. It was ideally located for my treks around Old City. The lobby is nice, staff was helpful, friendly, and polite. The only down side, for me, was my room could have been less dusty.

I checked in under the premise that the facility had a full gym (I called ahead prior to booking and double checked with the front desk). Unfortunately, they consider a couple of treadmills and 50 lbs of dumbells to be a full gym. I also had TO PAY $20 to have internet, plus $45 for parking. They offered me a $5 voucher for food and bev if I did not use housekeeping. I saved the voucher and tried to use it at the bar and they did not allow me to. I voiced my displeasure to the front desk, and they said the manager would contact me. It has been two weeks, and I have not heard back. On top of that, I was emailed a bill that had a charge on it for a bottle of water??? I do not recall purchasing a bottle of water.

The hotel was comfortable. However, the HVAC unit sounds like an airplane is taking off in your room when it turns on. The loud start up woke me up from a sound sleep. Also, I was there for one night and met in the lobyy with an appointment only to find out this hotel does not have breakfast in the morning. How is that possible?

We had a prepaid reservation for 2 nights. When I checked in, I was told both nights were paid for and my credit card would only be charged for incidentals. On the second day, there were roaches in our room so I called the front desk to have someone come retrieve them. They came, and I was told later that one of the nights would be refunded. 2 weeks later, they charged my credit card for one of the nights even though both nights were paid for AND I was supposed to get a one night refund because of the roaches. Now I'm haggling with the staff who are telling me that only 1 night was paid for and I am supposed to call a third person at 11 to discuss it. I have never had such a terrible experiences.

arrived to a room that had no bathroom amenities (no shampoo, conditioner, etc) , so while they were bringing it up I went to the club lounge only to find no coffee or tea facilities and noone in the lounge to approach.
Compared to other Sheratons this is very sub-par lounge.
The reception staff was very friendly and concierge was helpful.

The only redeeming thing about my stay was that it only last 2 nights. In that period of time I was placed in the absolute worst room in the house seemingly as retribution for asking for an early check-in which while an industry standard seems to be something they don't do in Philadelphia. The room was void of any amenities, no bath robe, towels not hung on the bars, etc. And the room was very oddly shaped. Clearly the worst room on property It also could not be further away from the sole elevator site in the hotel. I ended up walking out on to the street and back in the building to save time when leaving the room.
At bedtime I went to set the alarm only to find out the 1970s style alarm clock was broken. TWO alarm clocks and 30 minutes later I finally got a working alarm clock despite the maintenance man telling me that the 2nd clock had "been tested by the hotel engineers". With that fiasco behind me I spoke to the manager the next day to see why I had a 1970s, non iPod alarm clock and was told that those things are only saved for Starwood Preferred Guests. Funny, I am an SPG member and this is my 3rd Starwood stay this year.
As if things could not get worse, after a VERY average group dinner at which the hotel ran out of food I went up to watch the Jets game only to find that the TV was broken. So another visit from maintenance only to find that the plug was not all the way in which I was told "the maids knock them out al the time".
Mind you if I had paid what this hotel was worth which is about 1/3 of what I was charged per night I'd still be upset but not as upset as I am writing this as the room costs an absolute fortune for some of, if not the worst hotel service I have ever received. I'd tell you the rates but SPG does not permit that.
So I would recommend sleeping anywhere else in Philly, including you car or a park bench before staying at this poor excuse for a "luxury" property.
To try to make things beter they did give me a 10% discount which was like salt in the wound. They delivered about 50% (and I'm being generous) of what I paid for and they think a token 10% is at all meaningful. At least it's consistent with their poor overall service.
I guess the only good thing was it was only 2 nights, there were no bedbugs and I did not catch Ebola!

Society Hill is a little SW of the main historical area on 5th St (Independence Park), but easy access if you walk north off Dock St. LIked location next to Penn's Landing and bridges across the river. Liked room design with an inner door (between bathroom and sleeping area), so that noise from main lobby/atrium is reduced (which area can be very noisy). Club had good snacks and drinks, and reasonable prices for adult beverages.

I stayed at the Sheraton for a wedding and was very happy with it. The rooms are a good size, renovated and very clean and the bed is really comfortable. Only complaint is that the bathroom is a little tight.

I had an excellent experience. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The linens were high end. Late checkout was allowed without difficulty. Water could have been a tad hotter and complimentary breakfast would have been welcome, but overall I would very highly recommend this hotel to others.

I stayed at this hotel for only 10 hour and in that time I filed my first ever formal complaint to hotel management and their Director of Security. (I will stay in hotels over 100 nights this year) I was told I would be contacted for a follow up however that never happened. Following that incident I was woken up by my neighbor at 12:30am playing loud music. I notified security and I heard them come to the door and knock twice and say twice "this is hotel security". They did not answer the door and security left with nothing ever being done. I waited 30 minutes to see if they would contact me to offer me a new room or even give me an update. Instead I had to pack up my bags and head down to the hotel lobby at 1am and ask for a new room. The front desk made me feel like I was the inconvenience.
