Rated 2 out of 5 by MS28 Pretty Disappointing
Unfortunately, the room that I stayed in was in need of a major update; the carpet was stained and well-worn and it did not meet the standards of a 4-star quality hotel. A disappointing level of service and not worth the money.
Rated 2 out of 5 by mackin03 Only fair this time around
I stayed for 3 nights this time around. On two of the 3 mornings, my room had no hot water. Staff seemed aware of the problem when I called to inquire but no solution, time to resolution, or alternative was offered, forcing me into uncomfortably cold showers. My fellow travellers, staying in other rooms in the hotel were not affected.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Museumnut NIght noise
We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night in the summer and while I understand that people wil be out partying I had real problems with being woken at least 3 times after midnight including to one man banging on his room door and bellowing obscenities. When I mentioned it in the morning to the desk staff I was advised that my complaint should be dealt with by responding to this email request for a review. While I liked your facilities I am unlikely to return.

Good location. Very impersonal, needs to be totally renovated.
Rated 2 out of 5 by mthomas16 Still very dirty - three strikes this year...
This is the third time I've stayed at the Sheraton Centre Toronto in the past year. After writing my last review about how unclean the rooms were, I was invited to come back and try them again. I did and the room I was in was even worse. Dust everywhere, the room temperature was ridiculously hot. Maintenance was called and couldn't fix it. And the bathroom was deplorable. I understand missing a hair or two, but there over 35 hairs all over the floor/counter/bathtub. Just disgusting. Not going to ever stay there again.
Rated 2 out of 5 by canuck03 Busy and loud
We arrived on a Thursday were met with a long line of at least 25 people waiting to check in. When we were served, the staff was friendly and gave us an option of staying on the 5th floor or 18th. We chose the 5th floor. Our room had been cleaned, but not thoroughly.
The beds were nice and we slept great, until 630 am where we were awoken by loud banging on the adjoining wall and the sound of a reciprocating saw!!! We called down to front desk and were informed that there was no construction in the hotel and they would send security up to see what was happening. The construction continued throughout the morning until we packed up our bags and insisted on leaving. Again, I was met by a long line up at the front desk. I was able to meet with the manager who apologized for the construction and said he wasn't aware of any construction in the hotel and was able to switch our room for the next two nights.
The staff was great, the lobby was gorgeous and the location was exactly where we needed to be. The construction which the front desk didn't know about was the only concern and ruined our only relaxing day before a hectic weekend.
Rated 2 out of 5 by DizzyD9 Disappointed
Stayed for 6 nights. Staff thought originally that I was only there for 1. Put in a room on the 8th floor overlooking the main road. Emergency services vehicles with sirens on passing regularly. Also extremely noisy group of young people kept me awake during Saturday night. Needs more soundproofing. Not what I'm used to from an SPG hotel. Work being done on the outside prevented the outdoor area near the pool being open -one of the reasons why I chose this hotel.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Sheraton101 Disappointed
While I normally enjoy SPG stays, I continue to be disappointed by the Sheraton Centre. The front desk staff was not welcoming, failed to tell us that we needed to check out and check back into our room (we had a split reservation), failed to explain that I would not get green choice even though I had asked for it, and was not easy to work with. I also did not like that I had to re-sign up for the SPG program, and did not appreciate that I could not do this at the front desk. The concierge desk closed at 8:00 p.m., which I thought was early for a downtown hotel. I also had trouble catching cabs through the doormen, despite there being 8 doormen available (but 6 socializing), and taxis were turning away because they doormen did not signal that they were required. The BNB restaurant seemed understaffed, as simple breakfast orders took a long time, and getting the attention of staff took 5 minutes. The conference organization was adequate. While SPG hotels used to be my stay of choice in the past, stays at the Sheraton Centre have reduced my eagerness to stay at SPG hotels.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Akids Unsatisfactory
We are returning guests and try to come into Toronto once or twice a year and stay at the Sheraton, however this visit was not impressive! I'm not sure if it is because we used our points, but regardless the service was horrible and the accommodations were poor. We had booked for 2 adults and 2 children and we were the farthest away from the pool in the south tower which was an old outdated room. There was nothing outlining hotel services in the room and when i called the front desk the person was plain rude telling me to check channel 2! That was disappointing, however what was most disturbing was that the TV would keep blitzing out, so was tough to check hotel services and the hair dryer was sizzling and burning. When I went to the front desk to check out and let them know about the issues in our room, the person I spoke with didn't ask how my stay was and didn't apologize or even acknowledge the issue, just stated he would let someone know! We were very disappointed and likely will rethink where we stay on our next trip into the city.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Chris230813 No feather-free room. The rooms need to be refreshed
I don't get that an hotel chains like Sheraton doesn't offer dedicated Feather-free rooms. There are several people with feather allergies and need these type of rooms. Instead, the hotel will remove feather pillows and quilt to make it feather-free, but THAT DOESN'T MAKE THE ROOM FEATHER-FREE. Even when you remove the pillows and quilt from the room, feather is still present in the room unless you thoroughly vacuum and clean everything. Even then, it could take weeks before it is officially feather-free. There are no true feather-free rooms at this hotel. When you travel a lot and for several days, that make a huge difference and it would be fairly easy for an hotel like this to dedicate a couple of feather-free rooms. On top of that, when I arrived the feather pillows was still in the room even though there is a note on file (it happens 90% of the time at this hotel). I had to wait for an hour before the room was ready.
The room I got definitely needed to be refreshed. Wallpaper needed to be replaced IMO and the bathroom definitely needed to be refreshed as the grout of the ceramic floor is missing in some places, the drain of the sink wasn't working properly. The carpet would need to be refreshed also.
On the positive side, the gym is very nice, location is great and convenient plus the public amenities are great.
I've been at this hotel several time and to be honest the only reason why I stay there is the convenience of the location for business travel. All the rooms I stayed so far need to have wallpaper, carpet and bathroom refreshed and a lot of them need plumbing work.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Scootermc1 Really disappointing
This hotel is understaffed, dirty, and dated. My room looked dingy and worn. The shower drain would not drain properly (even though I complained to the front desk), several of the electrical outlets didn't work, the air conditioner worked poorly (hot in Toronto this week), and every time I went to the front desk to complain, the wait to speak to anyone was 5 people deep. Lots of construction in Toronto causing the rooms windows to be thick with dirt...couldn't see out of the room window very well. Surprisingly bad
Rated 2 out of 5 by Meaghan2014 Very difficult to receive assistance
I organized accommodation for a group to stay at the Sheraton for 3 weeks in the summer 2013 and it was an absolute nightmare to set it up and pay.
Multiple times i called the reception and there was no answer or if i was transferred between departments my call was dropped. I spent 3 hours one day simply trying to speak to someone that would take my credit card info to pay for the rooms. I would think that if i wanted to spend approximately $12,000 at the hotel someone would want to talk to me?!
From my experience the different departments don't communicate effectively because I requested amenities for the rooms, one department said it was taken care of and then i would hear from our guests that it wasn't.
A woman name Jeannette in billing finally made an effort and made this experience bearable. I appreciated her taking care of things, but unfortunately it was too late for me to say i would go back to the Sheraton again.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Gidget8 Curtains and air conditioning old and falling apart
Curtains had holes in them and could not block out street lights. Air conditioning was noisy and did not keep room cool. This hotel needs renovations. Moreover, the hotel needs to have a faster check in system. Queues are frequent.

I have been coming to this hotel for a few years now. Staff are friendly and room are comfortable however this past stay really disappointed. Internet is slow and wi fi drops every ten minutes or so. Also no water in my room. Perhaps benefits for platinum members have changed. Otherwise an ok stay.
Rated 2 out of 5 by aani123 The hotel is really run down
For a hotel in Toronto this hotel is really run down. The curtains are torn, the shower heads are broken, from some places the shower walls have cracks. Really not a place I would recommend anyone to stay in. There are better hotels in Toronto
Rated 2 out of 5 by Mike033 Terrible check-in
I stay at this hotel only bc it is close to my office in Toronto. However, I have to say to say that the check-in experience is one of the worst in my 24 yrs of business travel - >20 min to check in for such a large property is shameful. And it is a recurring issue. Not enough staff to look after Platinum members. Unacceptable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by NHPete Too HOT - and Link Failed
On arrival, the room was 78 degrees F. The a/c was cranked to max and was blowing but not cooling. Maintenance said 'Sorry, our chillers cannot handle the heat. I gave out all my fans. You may want to try our pool for some relief.' Overnight the room temp dropped - to 74 degrees.
Could not close the drapes - either the privacy or the room darkening ones. Oh, they close alright - and block the a/c unit! The maintenance guy says that is different on the higher floors. But for me, I had to sleep with the shades open so what little cooling the Sheraton was providing would get into the room.
(On flight home the passenger next to me had stayed at the neighboring Hilton. She felt guilty telling me her room was at 68 degrees. Same city, same weather, different hotel, better cooling.)
Tried to print at the Link center in the lobby. PrinterOn worked fine. Went to Link but the keypad next to the printer was dark. Front desk staffer tried to help but could not so called IT. IT guy came over, cleared a jam and reset the printer. Nothing. Checked the keypad - someone had taken the power supply from inside the desk! Nowhere to be found.
I had to go back to my room, save the files to a thumb drive, go back to Link and print from one of the PCs there. Lost 30 critical minutes before an important client meeting.
I had a very very poor guest experience.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Mims26 Not staying here again
I had a bad experience with the bathroom, where there were a relatively big leak caused by the room above us, which was leaking through our ceiling vent in the bathroom, splashing me with dirty water. The staff answering the client services phone line was less than courteous and the phone went unanswered when I tried phoning about our toilet not flushing properly. The staff who came to "fix" the toilet, simply flushed the toilet and said it was fixed. There were hairs in the bathroom, a burnt lightbulb in the bedside lamp and the TV signal was choppy. To top it all off, the fire alarm was set off by a beligerent person in the hotel lobby at 2:30am.
Rated 2 out of 5 by DMat One of my worst experiences
Generally I do not have any complaints about my experiences with the Sheraton, and I always recommend this hotel to friends, family and clients I have from work. However, this past stay was one to forget.
I arrived on July 20th, approximately around 3:00pm from another city in which I had been attending a conference. I decided to celebrate a special occasion with a loved one as we had marked some new accomplishments in our lives. Upon arrival I waited in line for about 20 minutes. Upon checking in I was asked if I would like a room with 2 beds or one. I opted for 2 beds and was given my room keys.
Once I entered the room I discovered I was given a room with in fact only 1 bed. I called downstairs to the front desk and informed them of the mix up. I was then told I needed to bring my belongings back downstairs and I would be given a new room and keys. I then came downstairs and waited another 20 minutes in line before someone was able to assist me. The front desk did not apologize and simply issued me new keys to a different room. Upon entering this room(in the Richmond Tower) I immediately noticed the door was already open. I lay my belongings down only to realize the room had not been cleaned. The beds were not made, and used towels were spread on the sink.
I called downstairs to the front desk to explain the problem and they asked that I return downstairs to get a new room. At this point I requested that I not wait in line again as I was tired from my trip and also needed to be at a reservation shortly. They front desk informed me that they would send someone up with new keys immediately. Another 20 minutes had passed and I decided I could not wait any longer. I gathered my belongings with my girlfriend and we headed downstairs to speak to the information desk. I explained to the employee that we had 2 rooms given to us and were now being asked to wait for the 3rd room. She took my information and spoke to someone in the back, returning with new keys and a new room for us to use. There was no apology from anyone for the inconvenience throughout this ordeal.
At this point it had been almost 5:30pm, my girlfriend and I missed our reservation at a nearby restaurant because there was not enough time for us to get ready. In short, I have always come to know Sheraton as a brand and hotel associated with superior service and quality which is why I book with them consistently. This was by far my worst experience at a hotel. From the unmade beds, to the unapologetic staff and the lengthy wait each step of the way, this will not be somewhere I plan on returning to in the immediate future.
Rated 2 out of 5 by G777 Certainly not a 4 star hotel
Arrived and the room is not clean, not vaccumed , you can smell the dust.
Bathroom is a disaster, toilet unclean unflushed with unpleasant surprise in it.
Bathtub with human hair in it. Shower head leaks when bathtub tap open.
Carpet bent and torn at various spots.
No headboard for the bed?!
No free wifi
Old air condition unit which hardly blow cold air.
Location is excellent
Parking is 50 dollars a day!
Definitely not going back
I am on my first day and won't do it again if I can.
Rated 2 out of 5 by September227 This hotel is difficult to access if you are driving
Our GPS kept telling us to turn left off Yonge street but this is an illegal turn for several blocks. Going around the block was a nightmare. The address for the hotel is Queen street which is completely under construction and therefore not accessable. Very slow check in and out.
When we were ready to leave, I gave the parking valet my ticket and when I went to check on their progress an hour later, our keys were still in the keypress.
Rated 2 out of 5 by belonginglost Packed up room before I checked out.
I had a late checkout for 1 PM. When I came back to my room just after 12 to my surprise I found the cleaning had cleaned out my room. I took me almost an hour to track down my belongings from the cleaning staff. Some of my belongs were missing. Nothing important just nuts, apples, and library books.
Even if you forget about the fact I had a late checkout there is no way that they had time to clean out my room starting for a 12 check out.
Rated 2 out of 5 by PESuarez Facilities very badly maintained
In general many deficiencies in the premises but the worst ins not the quality of the employees which in general was OK, but more the lack of employees, ej it took me 45minutes in one occasion to have my car received in by the valet, this is unacceptable. When I went into the preferred desk to complain there was no one there until after 10 minutes. Another day the breaker went off and we lost the light of the bathroom, while this may happen it took 30 minutes to reestablish the electricity all that had to be done is turn the breaker back to ON
Rated 2 out of 5 by JEB1963 This hotel need updating
The hotel is dated and is in need up updates. The closet in my room was basically unusable, there was a shelf half way down and so I was unable to hang anythign on the top rod. The bottom rod was obstructed by the ironign board. Whe I romoved the ironing board the clothes stil touched the floor when hung from the bottom rod. The bathroom had an old radiator on the floor, teh cover has fallgin off and the inside was covered with dust.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Newbie Hotel in good location, but check-in takes too long
The lines at check-in were extremely long this weekend (stretching past the front entrance to the restaurant) but only 3 of 5 check-in counters were open (excluding the one counter opened for gold card holders). Check-in for each person was also slightly slower than what I've experienced at other hotels. This could be a one-off situation due to Canada Day / PRIDE weekend, but the hotel should have anticipated the situation and staffed up appropriately.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Ontario11 No service
The hotel served its purpose for a conference and is a good location for downtown Toronto.
But over a three night stay, the room was not serviced once. If you stay here, my advice is that you agree to the no service option, as at least you wont be surprised when you get back after a long work day.
However, assuming the above was an aberration - I'd recommend it for location.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Ponsuke Lack of hospitality
I stayed twice in this hotel and both experiences were disappointing. First, the staff at the reception tend not to focus by seeing other people or places. Surprisingly it happened both times when I checked in. I am wondering they have been trained to behave like that?! Second, despite my plutinum status, the room was standard again both times although being on the high floor. I doubt changing rooms upfloors is enough to be recognised to be plutinum compared to the upgrade received in other SPG hotels including Sheraton. The bottom line is that their hospitality is far from satisfactory. The location is the only advantage I can find. If you have a car or do not mind using a taxi, I definitely recommend to find other hotels.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Dirk172 This hotel is losing it
Elevators were very slow. Room did not cool properly. Beds never have fitted sheets. SPG check-in never works. At the regular check-in the guy fiddled with his computer for 10 minutes before looking up to serve me.
