Rated 3 out of 5 by notimpressed The staff was very professional, polite and showed concern. The room was ok but nothing great. No refrigerator and I found this very surprising. I did not expect a kitchen but a refrigerator for drinks and medication. The sheets we like sand paper so wear PJ. Like I said the hotel is Ok, just OK. September 17, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Overall Not Happy I was disappointed from the start. Rooms not ready, the desk said. Then there was not a room, the desk said, even though reservations made 3 months ago. dirty, not prepared for a convention group. 3 elevators not working. broke a glass in my room and it took 2 calls and 6 hrs to get addressed. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a good experience Check in service was awful. Over an hour late getting a room from promised check in time. When you pay for a room it looks like to me you should be able to check in on time. Check in staff rude. Room dusty on TV and furniture. No wash cloths in room. Food was good at the meeting facilities. May 28, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by DIsappointed I am very disappointed. It says before I made a reservation that there is a free wifi included, but when I got in the hotel, they were charging us $12.95 per hour. That is very misleading. We are planning to go back to Philadelphia next week but we are never going back to Sheraton again. September 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A pleasant stay I have stayed at this hotel more than once and as always to be expected, the staff was very accomodating, the rooms clean, and as a starwood member have always been upgraded at no additional cost. Always a pleasant experience February 13, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs Updating Hotel feels very run down. Staff was very polite, but I did not feel like anyone asked how my stay was or recognized me as an SPG loyal member. My shower did not drain and I had to make it a point to tell the counter at check out, which was met with a thanks I will let maintenance know. March 8, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Hotel Stay This hotel was the worst Starwood I have stayed in. The maid service was terrible, my room didn't get fresh towels, no coffee replacements, left my room service tray in the room from the morning. The bedding horrible, two flat sheets that come off the bed. Horrible, horrible, horrible. June 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Prmier Business Traveler's Location The unfailing positive attitude and friendliness of everyone at this property make my frequent visits to Philadelphia that much more pleasurable. Great location, clean and comfortable rooms, good food, and some of the best views in the City make this a sure hit for business travelers May 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by no free wifi?!! can't remember last time I had to pay for wi fi access at a hotel, especially when it costs $200 a night to stay there. We had a reception the last night and water cost $4? Really?. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Long waits for an elevator . Can't take the stairs to the 20th floor... April 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by A little improvement, but overall very good. The location and room comfort was excellent. The room itself needed a little more attention. The bathroom tub was wet and had hair in it. The dairy creamer for the coffee was spoiled and solid. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Though they did not offer any SPG incentives. Rated 3 out of 5 by Good hotel in great part of town Great for walking to the Franklin institute, Art Gallery and other smaller museums. 20 mins to independence square. CLose to highways and 5 minutes to University City. Overall satisfied with the time we spent here. The staff were very attentive to our needs and should be praised March 16, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Weekend Visit Recently stayed at this property to attend a graduation in town. I was happy with the recognition of my gold member status and upgrade. The room was comfortable and in good condition. Overall, the property could use some updates and more attention to cleanliness of common areas. June 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mother's Day Walk For the last 3 years, my family have stayed @ the Sheraton in downtown Phila, Pa. This is a great group of people. Their focus is exceptional care from the front desk to the maintenance department. All our questions were addressed immediately. Thank you for the exceptional care, May 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5by Best Value in the Heart of the City The hotel was great! The location was great! And, the price was fair considering the location and amenities. The only issue I had was after checking into my room, I noticed the maid staff left a dirty cloth on the floor and I had to wait two hours for a plunger and refrigerator. Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy access - in the middel of it all This hotel is conveniently located to popualr Philly sites, is very clean and comfortable, and the staff really went above and beyond to make me feel at home. The only thing I would add is a small frideg and microwave to all rooms. Most comfortable beds in the industry. November 10, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not one of the best one If you stay more than 3 days make sure they give you the room key for the 3 days because they never change the default setting and on wednesday you will need to get a new one (It happened to many the 3 times i stayed there). Or worst wait 45 min on the 25 floor for a new key. December 9, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not resilient in bad weather During my three night stay (during the polar vortex), the fire alarm went off two nights (both past midnight), my room was not cleaned the first night, and room amenities were subpar for a Sheraton (no slippers, robes, or refrigerator in the room). January 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great stay for Fido as well We were greeted with friendly attention to our needs. The floor for pets was great. Room was at the end of the hall, quiet and staff respectful. Food in restaurant was a bit pricey but fresh and cooked well. All staff was pleasant. January 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sheraton Philly Really nice hote. Room very comfortable and clean. Elevators were painfully slow, so I took the stairs a few times...and while I know stairways are generally for emergencies only, I was struck at how dingy and unwelcoming these stairwells were, Particularly the north tower. Rated 2 out of 5 by AVOID THIS CHEAP MOTEL Rude staff, old, poor cheap renovation, marginal location. First room assigned (422) was on a roof level- anyone could simply walk up to the window, AND IT FACED A WALL. Asked for a new room and got (room 605) DIRECTLY ACROSS THE HALL FROM ICE & VENDING MACHINES...NOISE !! June 8, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good location and staff but... The room was less than I am used to at Starwood Hotels. The door to my room required slamming it to close, sometimes more than once. The air conditioner banged each time it started, There were stains on the bathroom wall and the paint on the bathroom ceiling was bubbling. July 23, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown I was very disappointed with the condition of this hotel. The carpet in the room was very stained and the bathroom just looked worn. The shower head would not put out a full flow as half the water still poured out of the tub spicket. I would not stay in this hotel again. February 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Thanks Mary We had a wonderful stay in Philly doing all the usual tourist things. Mary, our trip advisor, really gave us some great information to make sure we did all the activities that were associated with our interests. Nice hotel, wonderful staff. Thanks to everyone. Rated 4 out of 5 by Key location for fireworks SPG club level service for evenings should at minimum run from Mon-Fri. It' s not offered during holidays or Friday's. This should be advertised somewhere otherwise it's deception. The concierge staff, room cleanliness and the view at this property were spectacular. July 7, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lost my jacket Left my jacket at the lobby lounge. Bartender said he turned it in to the front desk, but no one could find it over the final two days of my stay. My fault for leaving it on the back of the chair, but disappointing that it was picked up and then lost by the staff. September 23, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by In need of a total make-over and a good cleaning This hotel is old and tired. The entire hotel needs a make-over. The public spaces are not being kept clean. The same litter was in the hallways all three days of our stay. The noise levels both from within and out make it a very undesirable place to get any rest. April 29, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 Kiddie City During my stay apparently there was a teenage mutiny at the hotel. 20+ minutes average wait for elevators, Teens running around the hotel unsupervised all hours of the day and night playing knock knock and running. I had to call to the front desk multiple times. January 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice amenities The hotel offers a gift shop, a terrific work out room, restaurant, bar, pool and more. The location is convenient and the staff was very accommodating. This appears to be an older property and there is room for improvement on the rooms and meeting areas. October 31, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by The location is great but... Average experience due to the fact that they have a big problem with elevator (20 minutes waiting time!). Just not enough elevator for the amount of room. Ben, restaurant gm, is an outstanding hospitality team member....make sure to meet him during your stay. April 2, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel is just Ok Elevators are terrible! I have never been in a facility where the elevators were this atrocious. Each trip was an adventure in futility and frustration. It was so bad we stayed away from the room or the bar and restaurants in fear of having to use the elevators. Sad SPG Experience! April 1, 2013
