The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are nice and price worthy. However, the AC units are loud beyond compare, so the combination of the in-room AC units, which sounds like a combustion when it kicks in, and the freight trains that go by in the middle of the night, it is not an easy place to get a good night's rest.
There are a lot of renovations going on at the hotel, which is understandable, and I am guessing that this is causing the staff a lot of stress, because not a single one of them smiles. I've never seen a hotel where the entire staff seem to suffer rather than enjoy their work. I've stayed at this hotel years ago and had a good experience then. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time.

This hotel is much improved over my stay 2 years ago which was very disappointing. I was in a renovated room on the club level. It was very comfortable and setup perfectly for a business guest. The ladies in the Club Room were lovely particulary Rochelle and Marie. The only downside this trip were the bellmen. 3 stood around talking as I struggled with bags. The young female conceirage was very responsive.

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the great location. We stayed here a few years ago and it was a disappointment then. The bathroom sink was stopped up and it was difficult to regulate the water temperature in the shower. The breakfast staff hasn't changed; they are slow and disorganized. We had to ask several people /times to get bowls for the buffet, water for tea, and they started to clear the table before we had even finished eating. Paying to park when you depart is a nightmare; you pay a machine and they make it so complicated, you can't figure it out.

I was only in town for one night. But the staff was courteous and appreciative of tips. Room was comfortable and bed was super comfy. First time my back hasn't hurt in months.
Recommend you bring ear plugs. Trains not too loud but I was glad I had mine. Great night sleep!

Rooms were dirty - carpet was filthy and wallpaper needed scrubbed. Workman started every morning at 7:00 AM and woke us up. Not sufficient staff at front desk waited in line twice. I think I was supposed to get a discount for the parking as a SPG member but I kept getting different answers from staff and received no discount. Rooms were booked together as one party but we were given rooms that were not even on the same floor. Acted like a discount hotel should have been a discounted rate.

Location is great - my wife and I had a great time walking around in the city, and there are many restaurants to choose from close to the hotel. 2 MAJOR problems with our stay - check-in was a mess. The check-in area is not very large, and the staffs inefficiency was resulting in many impatient guests checking in. There was a sign for SPG Gold and Platinum members to check in - however, when I moved over to that line, some of the other guests waiting to check in accused me of jumping out of line - the woman working the desk acted like I was in the wrong until I pointed out that I was a SPG Member and the sign identified that this was the SPG Check-in area. Not what I was expecting based on past experiences. The room had a great view, however it was not clean (mirror was dirty, hair on the bathroom floor). We did not use the pool however it looked nice.

The hotel lobby was under renovation and the air fresheners used to cover up what I assumed to be the paint smell was overpowering and offensive. Undecided on whether or not I would recommend it or use it for a future stay.

I was a guest for one night. The hotel & room overall were great. However, when I prepared to use the shower, I realized it had not been thoroughly cleaned......the previous guest(s) used bar soap & shower gel were still in the holder. I was fortunate to get a room with a magnificent view of downtown Pittsburgh, however, the nightly train runs were not my cup of tea.

We stayed here for a dance convention & we were completely dissapointed!! There were stains on our bedding & towels. The room was dusty and had not been vacuumed. The staff acted as if we were bothering them. A bag of ours was "misplaced" from a secluded hallway but turned in to the desk after nothing of value was found in it. One of the conference rooms had a leaky roof & could not be reached. The carpets could all use a major shampooing and just a good cleaning throughout. The staff was not very helpful or apologetic in trying to find the missing bag. The hotel should have had more than one cheep little microwave available for people to heat up lunches & dinners. Just overall not a great experience.

Bring back the Sheraton BEFORE it was remodeled! Then -- you were focused on the guest; now you are focused on telling the guest that the hotel has been completely (or at least almost completely) updated.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Carmine Very Nice Hotel, Helpful and friendly staff
Staff from housekeeping to waitpersons were friendly and helpful. Facility attractive and well appointed. When I told the desk that I needed a roll away for my grandson they immediately switched us to a two queen bed room. At formal banquet on Friday night my grandson did not like the cheesecake. The server on her own initiative brought him two giant chocolate chip cookies.
The only negatives were the construction work and strangely, the room did not have a dresser.
Lots of easy ways to get around Pittsburgh from Station Square and the Sheraton.

This is not a cheap hotel in terms of price. I was shocked, then, to have a hotel room that was dirty (stains on carpet, stains on wallpaper (especially in bathroom), pink stain on TV stand, brown stain in sink) and worn (notably scuffed furniture, peeling ceiling). It felt (and was) unclean. The one positive was the wonderful view from our room. In short, I cannot recommend this hotel.

The location is wonderful. The room was nice, but the air conditioning never turned off. The staff was wonderful until we went to leave. We were told our parking would cost $21. Before we checked out, we asked if our car had to be removed from the parking lot at a certain time so we wouldn't incur any other fees. We were told that we had until 6 PM to move our car before we would begin incurring more fees. So we attended our daughter's soccer game at Highmark Stadium and when we went to leave the parking lot we were told we had to pay more than the $21. We were also told by the front desk staff that there was nothing they could do about it. First off, we did nothing wrong yet we were being penalized for misinformation that was given to us by a Sheraton front desk staff person. Totally unacceptable. Now we were being told that because we didn't use the in/out service we had to have our car out of the lot within 24 hours which of course had passed. We really want to come back to Pittsburgh, but this has soured our entire trip since it was the last thing that happened prior to us leaving. What ever happened to customer service?? There were a few other disappointments, but nothing that turned us off as much as this.

This hotel was in proximity to so many venues and resturants. The location is on the river with lots of activities and fantastic views.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I truly enjoyed my stay. The only negeitive would be the railway that runs adjacent to the hotel. However, they do their best to time the train passing during wake hours.

I can understand that the hotel had to do updating construction, however was it necessary to begin at 6:20 AM in the room directly above mine? The carpet in my room was terribly stained, and there were small bugs (fruit flies?) flying around both the room and bathroom. The carpets in the hotel hallways were never vacuumed and dirty.

My reservation said rooms came with refrigerators, they did not. Also I had requested a rollaway bed. I did not get one, but I was OK with that until I got my bill and see they charged me for one. The parking situation is horrible and the hotel should be more upfront about the $21 a day for parking. It would've been nice to spend the evening at the hotel bar but the bartender was not friendly and the cost for drinks were overpriced. The hairdryer in the room was cheap and didn't work. But the bell hop was great and I enjoyed the free shuttle service.

Ensured the SPG number was added at front desk but was not given the SPG floor until I went down to change rooms. The first room was RIGHT next to an elevator and the entry of the room was filthy with a large black stain that ran about 8 feet into the room and a rancid odor. Not a great first impression. The next front desk lady moved me to 9th floor with the correct room. Maid was excellent!!
May consider opening up for breakfast at 6am and not 6:30.

We were very pleased with our weekend stay at the Sheraton at Station Square, Pittsburgh, PA. When we made our reservfations we requested a river view room and that is just what we got. It was beautiful and will definitely ask for this view again on our next visit.

I have been staying at this hotel for the last 10+ years and it has always been a pleasurable experience. The staff is always attentive and the accommodations are very nice. The hotel is currently undergoing a renovation, and from what I have seen so far this year it will look great once finished. I definitely will be staying here again.

So disappointed in this past stay, We stay here every time we come with our pets. As the hotel is being renovated, it was clear we were put in pet rooms....definitely see need for paint an improvement....carpet horrible. Shared the floor with a church group of 50 rooms with such language... security,,,,cops...not up to Sheraton standards. We did receive a complimentary breakfast but really???? My daughter and sons had to listen to evening noise and bad language!!!! Why woud Sheraton not put them out....instead, honest payers pay the price????

The room looked old and didn't have 2 pieces of furniture that matched. We had to ask for a roll of toilet paper but, the cleaning people were very nice. We asked where the soda machine was and they said they didn't have any. We had to go to the bar and get a class of soda and carry it up to our room. We had the breakfast buffet that was very expensive and all the food was cold. There was only one bathroom open in the lobby and it was filthy. There was a competition going on there and all the people were sitting on the floor on both sides of the hallway. So you had to walk in between them to even get to the bathroom.
We went to a wedding there and that went well. The food was delicious and the wait staff was very nice and accommodating.
I had stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and it was beautiful. I couldn't believe I would ever see a Sheraton this bad.

There was construction in the Lobby, but the hotel did a good job of working around it. I found the overall hotel condition to be somewhat messy. We were on the 5th floor. There was packing material near the elevators during our entire stay. The entrance from the side parking lot was dreary. The room was generally clean and well appointed. I found it odd that the bathroom had no hooks or towel bars. In addition, the bathroom lacked an exhaust fan, so it was always fogged after a shower.

Our food was very good; however, there were no sugar/creamer packets left in the room for our morning coffee in our room. Had difficulty using the room key. Also, our parking receipt was unreadable when trying to validate. The clerk in lobby was unable to help us.
