We stayed for one night. The staff was accomodating and helpful but not overly friendly. The room was clean but the beds not comfortable.

The hotel is located in a nice area. The welcome and car valet parking were well organised. The hotel room looks nice but unfortunately some facilities need maintaining. The bath tub was broken and it could not be filled with water. The plug was broken and could not closed the drainage of water. The sound installation did not work too in the bathroom. Last but not least the bed was too hard.
A bite disappointing was the swimming pool and spa facilities. Beside the overpriced charges of 12,50 euros per person to visit the swimming pool, the lady behind the counter was not really friendly. We paid 25 euros for two persons and she even did not have a locker available. Although there were many lockers (more than 30 lockers) in the changing room but according to this lady every locker was occupied. On the other hand there were only less than 10 people around the swimming pool and spa. She could not offer anything to store my personal gadget (Iphone, Ipad, etc.) and she gave me the impression she did not care. Further on the spa vichy facility was closed too and the pool was really small.
My last remark is about the charges of wifi internet. I expect from a 5 star hotel that the wifi internet is included in the price.

Great Location for traveling into central Lisbon and also the airport as bus stops very close by. Metro is very near too.
Staff friendly but not as helpful as i have experienced at other SPG hotels worldwide.
I was not very impressed with housekeeping as i had to call them three time to change my feather pillow to non-feather (something on my SPG profile). Also for some odd reason every time the room was cleaned we had less and less glasses. So on the last morning we only had ONE paper cup to drink coffee and down to 2 extremely small water glasses in the bathroom.
Our TV was not showing many channels so called to have it checked out and no-one showed until a follow-up call made the next day and someone arrived and said he would fix it. He did no such thing. I also would like anyone staying here that there are only a handful of English channels and the movie rental was Euros18. A bit high i think, in the US/Canada you expect to pay around $10-$12.
Another thing that really doesn't make sense that you have to pay Euros 12 to have a quick swim. So if there are 2 of you it does add up on a daily basis. All we wanted was to have a 20min swim to start the day.
I loved the location, and actually walked to Rossio and wouldn't recommend it unless you are a hiker to Bairro Alto.Great time in all... just could have been a little better.
When i pointed out what had happened at the front desk they were not bothered. HMMMM!

Overall the service was terrific! Most of the hotel staff personnel spoke English and were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable--enjoyed the power window curtain and the power blinds by the bathtub/shower. The room view was enjoyable and for most time the room was quiet. The Club Floor Lounge had good breakfasts, snacks and refreshments, and "Happy Hour".
1. For 2 days did not have a spare toilet paper roll, only one partial toilet paper roll--after mentioning it to the front desk, this problem was promptly corrected. On one of these day, none of the toiletries was replenished.
2. My wife forgot her camera in a tour van, and the tour company said it would return it that evening leaving it at the front desk. My wife informed the front desk staff that her camera would be returned and to notify her when it was received. After the time period the tour said it would return the camera, my wife checked with the front desk staff and was informed that the camera was not returned yet. She waited another half-hour and checked with the front desk staff and again was informed the camera was not returned. My wife showed her concern, so the staff checked with another staff member, who said that the camera was returned a while ago.
3. On the last night, the occupant(s) in the above room made loud stomping noises--heavy walking occurring over various periods of time. Hotel staff promptly investigated.

I give this hotel a big Wow.
#1 reason is Vanda, the SPG Customer Relations Manager, who went out of her way tp make our two stays at this hotel last week so special in ways and to a degree I have NEVER experienced (which is saying a lot for a 10+ year Platinum member). So, big WOW back to Vanda and the team.
#2 applause goes to the physical hotel, at least the Club Floor rooms, excluding the club lounge itself, which I will address later. The renovations are very distinctive and the rooms are pretty cool, once you learn how everything works -- and yes, you can electronically lower the shade to block the direct view into the bathroom. There is, however, a big difference between the two views, with the Club Lounge (westerly?) view over the park and historic parts of the city vs the other view over not much of anything special, although far and wide.
#3 is the location...just close enough to be very central...sure, it might be fun to be a mile closer to the Bario Alto or the water...but this hotel is overlooking the main park and just across from the Ritz/Four Seasons, with sweeping views of the Golden Gate-like bridge (actual copy) and Lisbon's iconic Statue of the Redeemer, and taxis are plentiful and inexpensive (about 5 euros to go most places).
#4 is the pool spa area which is nice and I like the fact that they charge for entry so it stays relatively quiet.
On the negative side is the Club Lounge, which is one of the poorer international SPG lounges, IMO, and it doesn't have to be. To begin with it is too small if the hotel/club is at capacity -- OK, not much they can do about that without taking out another room. But basically, the food and drink selection is very poor: just cheap red wine, white wine, and beer for alcohol...not even inexpensive Portuguese sparkling wine, and certainly no hard alcohol. Not even any port --- which they used to serve in this lounge years ago, and which is a symbol of Portugal. Not good. Then the food options, whether for breakfast or in the evening are limited and not particularly good. Again, they used to make omelettes and things in the lounge for breakfast -- no more, now you have to go down to the main restaurant if you want a real breakfast. Lastly, they won't let you take food or drink from the lounge to your room -- not even soda for overnight. You should be able to take some wine or a soda to your room...that's chincy/cheap and leaves a bad taste.
As an aside, the proximity of the airport is amazing...10 mins or less...we took a private car which we purchased at the information desk in the arrivals concourse for EUR 25 to go the hotel in order to skip the exceptionally long queue for the public taxis, but the taxi on way back my taxi was was EUR 8.25, including a 1.60 charge for the luggage (by comparison, the hotel car is EUR 45).
Then, when you put all this in context with the rate/cost/value -- it's a wow package.
