Rated 5 out of 5 by Vicki99 A room with a view of Green Park...
While this venerable property is showing signs of age, aren't we all? The location is tops (directly across the street from Green Park) and the concierge staff is superb (courteous and professional).

Rated 1 out of 5 by Energy38 Great location, friendly staff but overall not a 5* by a long way.
Firstly, great location, the staff were super friendly and very helpful across all areas of the hotel, the Italian restaurant was OK.
On arrival I was upgraded to a suite which I was very grateful for (thank you) given the condition of the classic rooms. I had originally booked a classic room and my colleague was staying in a classic room (not an SPG member).
The classic rooms are not only dated but really worn and uncomfortable, the room quality is more of a 2* hotel. The separate air conditioning system, very noisy and understand broke down half way through the night.
The suite was larger and more comfortable however still very dated and carpets stained and worn etc…
The entrance hall and lounge area are very elaborate, sadly no reflection of the guest rooms unfortunately.
Possibly the most un 5* standard hotel I've ever stayed in. The hotel is in rather desperate need of a refurb.
Such a pity Sheraton have such a huge gap in quality standards across their chain.
I would not encourage anyone to use their points on a stay here, there are other Starwood hotels in London of better quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BobEd It is what it is
Despite a number of awful reviews, I booked this hotel on points due to the location and the number of points per night (1/3 of the next lowest). Given the previous reviews, our only expectations were a clean bed, hot shower, and air conditioning in a great location for tourists. We got 2/3 plus some other good things.
This hotel is an older property in the middle of London that can't measure up to modern standards without a complete gutting and rebuild. The rooms are small, but they do have all the Starwood appointments. Our biggest problem was the air conditioning. It was a slow dribble out of the vent. Turning the fan to "high" made no discernible difference. When I asked the bellman, he said he'd send engineering right away. 15 minutes later, they delivered 2 small oscillating fans to the room. After explaining the "fan" problem to that person, he said he'd send someone from engineering asap. 90 minutes later, I got a knock on the door telling me that engineering was finishing a project, but would be there shortly. Over the course of our 3 night stay and 4 requests for engineering, I realized that the slow trickle of cool air was the best they had and I never saw anyone from engineering.
However, aside from that problem, the staff was quite cordial and helpful. Overall, while the hotel has inherent drawbacks, I'd stay there again (though maybe not in July/August).

Rated 2 out of 5 by Julie306 Looking forward to seeing the renovation
It was unfortunate timing to be at the Park Lane one month before the renovation begins. It's clear in many aspects of the hotel from the public space lighting to the shabby parts of the rooms that the refurbish is much needed. The location is really great accessible to the Tube and bus lines as well as many places to walk. I am looking forward to seeing the historic part of the hotel restored with modern design and upgrades to make it a more comfortable and enjoyable place to stay.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Cannyscot I have been here before.........what happened?
As SPG Platinum guest I expected more from this stay.
We were given room 710.
The non functioning air condition.
Despite two requests and the reception confirming personally that the turn down was noted.....nothing happened.
The 25 minute wait for the car from the garage.
The dilapidated condition.ok perhaps tired condition of the room.
The receptionist arguing that the discount I had applied for when booking parking online was not valid.....despite there being differing invoices sent post the visit stating otherwise.
The two invoices showing different amounts.....I can continue but whats the point......
When reception staff are argumentative, don't listen and make a simple issue a problem....you need to walk away.
With more than 650 nights in a SPG hotel.......I believe I can differentiate when my custom has a value .......I was very much left with the feeling that this was not the one.
I stay in Hotels about 80-100 times a year and this is the first time in a long time I regretted the experience.
Thats exactly how I feel..... i stayed here before.......I have had a very different experience...what has happened!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Clydesdale7 Great place, great location
The Park Lane Hotel is a wonderfully quaint hotel in Mayfair, right near Piccadilly. Nice, clean rooms with wonderful showers (with usage instructions...needed by those not familiar with this style of shower). Exceptionally comfortable beds make it possible to get a good night's sleep, even if you've had a really busy day. I particularly enjoyed the bar and lounge area, where the attentive staff made it possible to have great business meetings or to just sit back and relax. The hotel's WiFi is very good as well. Ideal for both business travelers and tourists, the hotel will undergo a major renovation soon which will make it even more hospitable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Matt35 Run-down hotel with good location
The hotel really didn't meet my expectation and it isn't worth Sheraton brand.
- hepful staff (for platinum guests at least)
- central location
- nice, art deco interior (but old run-down furniture in certain rooms)
- wifi connection is really bad inrooms overlooking to green park
- rooms overlooking to the inner yard (more percisly overlooking to the roof of the lobby) has no central a/c, only standalone machines with pipes going thru the windows
- in rooms on the 8th, one can hear the central a/c on the top of bulinding non-stop, the a/c vent in the room is in front of the bed (the air comes into your face directly), whenever you or your neighbor open the tap or flush the toilet there is a very loud noise coming from the pipes for a minute long. Imagine what if your neighbor comes home during the night and goes out to the bathroom when you are asleep.
- airco issues inthe lobby and restaurant. I was actually sweating one morning as the a/c didn't work at all and no windows were open
- everything is very old in the hotel and it really needs a full renovation

We got our room at 5 PM, brought our luggage up and went out. It was hot outside so we turned the air conditioner on. When we returned around 11 PM, the room was very warm, warmer inside than outside
I feel that I am due some points for this, as we had to leave the windows open all night

Rated 5 out of 5 by Precious6871 Great location
I arrived at the hotel after a long day of travel and was thrilled to find out that I would be given a free upgrade to a studio suite as there were no longer any regular rooms available (booked with SPG points). The room was large, comfortable and more than satisfactory. The staff was very helpful with bringing a fan to the room as it was somewhat hot, even with the windows open.
The location near Green Park Underground was excellent for our return journey to Heathrow. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The positives are this hotel has big rooms..but they need HELP! We had 2 rooms and the A/C was not adequate in either. I called 3 times about the A/C and finally gave up. The elevators are very slow and trapped people twice during our stay. The staff was friendly but there was never a door man when we needed one. We had to go on the street and flag our own taxis. Certainly not run to the quality of other SPG properties. Great location!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by AshleyfromNY123 Old hotel, needs updating
Althought his hotel is in a great location for a great price, the quality of the rooms are fair to poor. I am a Platinum SPG member and stay about 250 nights a year with Starwood. This is probably the lowest quality hotel I have stayed with, but in a very convenient location. The room I had smelled absolutely awful, and did not seem to be clean. The air conditioning unit worked pretty poorly as well on very hot days. If you are planning to be out sightseeing all day, the rooms are doable, but otherwise, try another hotel for more comfort.

1. All the staff was very cooperative and attitude was to be of help.
2. Ancient building makes it quite different from the modern hotels. Inside provides all facilities of a modern hotel.
3. Practice of Green Choice by SPG needs to be expanded by other chains.
4. I was disappointed that in spite of being Life Time Platinum Member I could not get any upgrade.
5. I had to wait very long before I was given a room. I am aware that check-in time is 3 PM but most hotels make special efforts to reduce the waiting time.
6. While waiting I left my bags with the concierge on which they put a sticker for identification. While taking it off the adhesive being strong left a lot of torn paper on the grip which was almost impossible to remove. Quality of adhesive needs to be improved or the adhesive should not touch the handle by providing a big adhesive free loop.
7. Breakfast room is rather small for the size of the hotel. If any special request has to be met most probably kitchen is not close by which slows down the service. This further increases the waiting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Yas16 Worst Starwood Hotel ever
The poor staff had to apologise endlessly for this horrible hotel. The carpets were filthy and the air conditioner broke down in our room, then the replacement unit broke, then the elevator broke down with us in it on our way to a new room with air! While the air worked the toilet gave off a sewage smell! All the surrounding hotels were full so we were stuck! At $450+ a night! it was a dump
Only nice room was the one in the pictures where they served tea @ $60 per person. Disgusting!

The location couldn't be better. The hotel itself is tired. The A/C wasn't up to the hot weather. Was not recognized appropriately as a VIP Platinum SPG Member. Been here many times before, unlikely to come back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by klt40 Excellent Platinum recognition/benefits
Excellent Platinum recognition with upgrade to 2-room suite! Full buffet breakfast for our family of 3 included. When our room wasn't ready, due to the previous person having a late checkout, we were given a temporary room to take a nap since we just came off a long flight from the states. Hospitality was very appreciated!

Rated 2 out of 5 by SilvinaBA Expectations not met
Really surprised by the law level of this hotel. Thought that Sheraton would have a minimum level of facilities to offer.
Room was surprisingly small and old. No fridge in it. Very few elements for guest comfort.
Really not worthy at all the money that should be paid for a room.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Sweenem Short Business Stay
Short London stay for business disappointed with value I expected from such a grand hotel.
Room was probably one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in.You could barely get passed the entrance and bed with the luggage. Room and window so small that I needed lights during the day despite the blazing sunshine Bathroom dated and whilst clean looked grotty. Shower not what expected - no adjustable shower head, taps were scalding
No complientary tea/coffee in room. I understand these were available by calling down to guest services - however when I am just up and jumping in the shower don;t want someone calling to the room.
Disappointed wifi was additional extra and expensive.
Chose this hotel from a list of company used preferable hotels - but would probably choose another next time,

Rated 4 out of 5 by LCVancouver Great location
Enjoyed my stay at the ParkLane. Very helpful staff. Comfortable and spacious rooms. It's a modest hotel by London standards, not as new as the N. American Starwood hotels in the same category. It's an old timer on Picadilly so be aware. Some rooms are renovated. The offical entrance is in a back lane (Brick Street) so that the cars can stop. Great location right across from Green Park. Walking distance to Knightsbridge (Harrods, Selfridge, Harvey Nichols) and Buckingham Palace. Next to Green Park tube station and Marks and Spencer simply food store. Extremely convenient! My main suggestion? Please install a few international power outlets on the desks or bureau. My first room desk had a N. American outlet but it was plugged up by glue. My second room desk did not have a N. American outlet - but the front desk provided a step down adapter. I brought my own power cord to plug into that adapter.... thus was able to charge up my 2 iphones, 2 ipads, laptop, portable iphone battery and camera. Had a great stay.

Room 336 - small, noisy from the air condition - cannot have a good night sleep. I am a platinum SPG member 0 upgrade - I think I got the worst room at the hotel. Poor bell service. In short - never again despite the fact that I have stayed in this hotel for year!! and never got such a bad experience, but once is sufficient

I was given a very small room with a rather unsightly air con machine in one corner / a shower that worked sometimes, sockets that could not be used with my MAC adapter due to the skirting board and no tea making facilities in the room.
Luckily I was only there for one night and arrived late / left early.
The gentleman at check in was lovely. Wine in the bar was good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TPGRN331 Great Location, A little Dated
My partner and I have been planning a bucket list trip to London for about a year. We knew we were going to stay on points and picked the Park Lane due to its modest 12K points a night stay, and GREAT LOCATION. I will confess, the review made me weary before we checked in - but dont let them deter you.
Our room was clean and functional, and SMALL (but thats Europe) (had a standard king room). Considering we spent most of the day out and about it was not a problem. There were areas that were worn in the bathroom.
We were recognized as Gold members at check in and received free internet for the stay, was not offered a room upgrade, but this never happens, even in the states.
I recommend having drinks at the bar (they make an excellent martini), dinner at citrus was yummy.
I have seen other reviews that say this property is getting an upgrade in Sept. I hope they keep the Victorian charm.

Enjoyed the stay - a bit expensive but nice location. The staff helped with good suggestions of restaurants. Only disappointment - we booked a car to the airport and they were to be 20 minutes late the morning of our flight. We ended up taking a taxi. Less expensive, faster, more reliable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Terry116 This hotel is tired
No offer of a newspaper on check in.
No porter service what so ever. After an overnight flight from Hong Kong I do not appreciate dragging my luggage to my room.
Only 1 bathrobe provided for 2 guests along with only 1 bottle of water.
I appreciate that the hotel is old in comparison to Asia Pacific hotels, but the tiredness is also reflected in the overall demeanour of the staff . The room for my first night was a box on the 3rd floor, but thankfully after a request a move to the 7th floor was forthcoming. Badly cracked tiles in the shower is not a good look!

With two adults and a teenager it was difficult to find hotels in London at reasonable prices. We booked this without problem on points - only way to do this without spending ridiculous amount. Still had to pay 60 per night for the cot! Room was a decent size and was comfortable. Only complaint was with the Citrus restaurant where I ordered two drinks and was charged for "doubles" when I was not asked if I wanted double. Food was excellent however. Found the hotel location to be fantastic for London sightseeing.
