Rated 1 out of 5 by DJNUK55 Poor experinece
Having booked and arrive late( we told them late check in) we were allocated an awful room in the attic well below what was booked.
The manager shrugged and said he was full. Only when I demanded another hotel did he eventually find a room that was what we had booked.
Originally the night reception was mots unhelpful and when I was insistent they either find me another hotel or the room I booked did they sort the problem out
I will NEVER stay in this hotel again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DmV2015 Mixed review but still recommend staying...
My first time writing a review and just feel compelled to share my thoughts given that I have been staying here 2 weeks at a time every month for about a year:
Decor: Im not an interior designer and not sure if they are going for a retro look after all the building used to be the factory of the famous Pelikan pens but lets just say I am not a fan. It doesn't convey a wow factor. The yellow couches look better in pictures than in person. Lobby looks dark. there is no sense of elegance or luxury to this lobby. The USA Courtyards has a better lobby I think. Hallway decor-DULL looks like an old hospital hallway. No wall decors or plants. Recently added sofa furnitures which made the space looks better instead of a lot of empty spaces. Wall sconces are horrible. They need to hire an interior designer and make it better.
Access: If you are like myself who stays for weeks at a time, you may find it annoying that as you step out of your cab you are greeted with a stair case up and a narrow ramp for your luggage which makes it very difficult bring your luggage up in order to check in.
Internet: SLOWEST EVER and days when connection is not stable. Unbelievable considering its a sheraton. Annoying that everyday you need to enter room and last name but its free for multiple devices.
Gym: Full size gym with dry and wet sauna (not steam) ample cardio and weights. If you speak german cross fit class, yoga and spinning available. Lockers provided with card locks that are provided with towels.
Food: Great presentation. Always fresh. Recently changed menu and I haven't been disappointed. healthy options available. Apparently chef is quite famous;-)
Room: High ceiling. Central a/c available however during fall they shut off the a/c for the entire hotel so when you get days that its warm and you like it on the colder side when you sleep, it maybe frustrating for you...windows half open. Helps as long as you are on the upper floor . Heaters/ radiators in room and bathroom. All rooms with small fridge, ironing board, iron. Only suite floors have robes. Only junior/suites have tubs except executive room 302. All showers are small. 009 when you flush toilet be prepared to get burnt from hot water from sink. Wait till tank is done filling before you wash your hands. Complimentary pod coffee in every room.
Staff: Amazing. Very friendly and Very accommodating. Given that my stay is longer than most people usually would stay it can be challenging with reservation when there are events in town to secure the number of days I need. They have been helpful. Recently the first and last 2-3 days of my stay were not available online but I just emailed them and they found a way to accommodate the 14 days. No bell service or concierge but the ladies at front desk would be happy to lend a hand.
Location: Near a thrift store, an overly price overly hyped poor quality food poor service italian restaurant called 12 apostel. 2-3 min walk to a train station (Pelikanstrasse) and 15 mins away from Kropke (city center) or Hbf (main train station).
Hope this helps

Rated 4 out of 5 by Alex1977 a top hotel, sadly not top located
While driving to the hotel I became more and more sad, untill I drove up the hotel. What a contrast. Excellent check-in procedure. Very nice lobby, spacious modern rooms, a wauw buffet in the morning.
The other side of the coin: location. Step out 2 min out of hotel range and it is a different area.
City center quite far away as well.
But for the rest worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VeganTraveler Best Club Lounge / Fitness Center
As platinum members in the last few years we stayed in many Starwood properties that have Club Lounge. What makes Club Lounge in Sheraton Hannover Pelikan Hotel special is its focus on very healty food. Durring the day, you will find there a wide variety of fruts, and in the evening you can be sure that you will be able to prepare for yourself a healty salat. And the personnel that is responsible for Club Lounge always takes care that noting is missing.
On top of that hotel guests have access to the professional fitness center which makes possible to easily organise a very relaxing stay. To have an idea of a quality of this fitness center, think about that they charge for no hotel guest around 20 euro for a dayily pass. And the best at the end: access to fitness center for hotel guests is completely complimentary.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PermanentTraveller Friendly staff
Hotel staff was very friendly. Location is good as there is a tram station in front of the hotel. As the whole area had been a pen factory in the past, the hotel is very special and has an extremely high ceiling which makes it interesting. The rooms itself are relatively small, but the space is sufficient.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AndrewBrooklyn A disappointment
This is a really nice hotel. Food is great, a gym is awesome but I have decided to rate my stay just 1*. Why? Before my stay I really like to follow my reservation trough an SPG app. I was really happy when I found out a day before of my departure that I was upgraded to a one bedroom suite. I had a lot of work to do so it was a pretty good idea to have a separated working space. I checked this reservation again 1h before my arrival to the hotel. In the system I got upgraded room to one bedroom suite. When I arrived to the hotel I was DOWNGRADED to a junior suite. Do not get me wrong. This room was not as bad, working space was not as nice but the room was pretty spacious. I was disappointed because I was downgraded. In my opinion front desk manager should be more responsible. Giving a cool upgrade and later downgrade a guest is not as nice. It is unprofessional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DRJRL Another wonderful stay
We had an excellent stay here two years ago, so we actually made a slight detour in our travel plans this year to stay here again. We were once more upgraded to a nicer room due to our SPG elite status - this time to a full suite. We always love their high ceilings (apparently due to it having been a pencil factory in it's previous "life"). It has been very nicely converted into a deluxe hotel that is clean and professionally kept. Top notch staff. The rooms had the best A/C that we experienced in Germany during our previous trip during the summer. This trip was in February, so the A/C was turned off, as is the common practice in Northern Europe. But, they did unlock the room windows for us. so we could cool the room down for our evening's sleep. With the quilts/comforters commonly used in Northern Europe, we like the room to be relatively chilly at night.. Even with the bedroom window open for much of the night, it was still quiet and comfortable . Good selection for breakfast and club lounge is comfortable and they will get you beers from the bar. Once again, I do not know how the "standard" rooms are, but the deluxe rooms are extremely space and well apportioned. If we are ever close to Hanover again during one of our trips, we will make certain to stay here once more! First time we had a little difficulty in determining the exact location of the entrance to the hotel - it is in the back section of the plaza - following the signs in the plaza sometimes can be a little bit of challenge but it is worth the effort.
