My boyfriend and I booked this hotel for the DC101 Kerfuffle at MPP. The festival started at 1:30 so we requested an early check in of 12PM. We got there and waited until after 12 to check on the room. We went inside the hotel and they said it wasn't ready yet and to call around 1PM. We called around 1:30PM and they said it was ready. We went into the place to check in and, despite what we were told on the phone, our room was not ready. So we wasted another hour and called back at 2:30 which is when they said to call back. They said it still would not be ready until 3. So we missed almost two hours of the concert and got the run around with the employees. We finally checked in around 11PM after the show and the man at the front desk was very courteous and we got up to our room within 10 minutes. Overall the room was great. Nice tv, fridge, and microwave. The beds were comfortable and clean.

WE WERE HERE AT THE SHERATON IN COLUMBIA, MD. FOR THE CAPITAL JAZZ FESTIVAL AND IT IS CLOSE BY THE MERRIWEATHER PAVILLION PARK WHERE THE EVENT IS HELD AND VERY CONVENIENT. MY HUSBAND NEVER COMPLAINS AND THIS TIME HE WAS DEFINITELY COMPLAINING.
THE ROOM WHICH WE WERE GIVEN WAS DEFINITELY BY FAR THE WORST WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN. STAINED CARPETS, CIGARETTE BURNS IN THE CARPET, BUILT UP CRUST AROUND THE TABLE ON THE CARPET, RUSTED SINK, MILDEWED TUB, BROKEN FRONT DOOR HAD TO BE PUSHED HARD TO SHUT CLOSE, THE TELEVISION SO FAR AWAY FROM THE BED MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO ENJOY BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP OR WAKING UP TO GET READY TO LEAVE.
WE HAVE STAYED HERE IN THE PASS AND NEVER HAD THIS EXPERIENCE. WE WERE GIVEN A ROOM IN THE LODGE BUILDING. ITS OLD AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY ON THAT SIDE OF THE HOTEL.

The staff was especially cordial. The room service provider in the evenings, Lilly, was extremely accommodating, friendly, and always remembers me when I return. The crab cakes are to die for! And the beds provide an excellent night's sleep. I stay here about once a week, and never look for another hotel for my visits.

Check your check-out statement if you plan on staying here--don't do the express check out. I was over-charged and now cannot get a hold of any competent people in their so-called "billing" department to get it resolved. The only nice part of the hotel was the view/location--but if you're big on customer service, this place is not for you.

It amazed me how I was able to see the fireworks from my window without having to go down to Lakefront with the crowd. I definitely would recommend this hotel!

From Gigi in the mornings to Burt in the evenings, the staff remember your name from one visit to the next. Both staff members make you feel like you are wanted there. A+++ The above named staff are 2 of the reasons I come back visit after visit.

I got a call from my daughter on 3/15/16. My son in law and 5 of his friends were coming back to the US from Afghanistan and because of the airline their flight from Kuwait had been delayed for two hours causing them to miss their connection at 7pm with no hope of getting out on a different flight to go home. I called SPG and was greeted by an amazing young man that went above the call to help make sure that these 6 US soldiers were in rooms so they could sleep in a bed after the long flight and now unscheduled layover in Baltimore.
I contacted the hotel personally and spoke with Alexander, he was working guest services that evening. This young man was simply amazing to not just myself, but to the young servicemen.
Thank you to everyone at the hotel for stepping up and working with me to not only make sure they had a safe and comfortable place to stay, but getting them their from the Airport and back again for a 6am flight.

Checked in very late after a rough day of travel. When I finally found my room (a map would've helped me not get lost twice), I found the heater unit cover was removed and sitting next to the unit and the unit unresponsive. When I called the front desk to report it, I was first asked if I had removed it (!). Engineering was called and came 15 minutes later. He was very apologetic and suggested I get another room. So I took the long walk back to the front desk with my travel gear only to have a new key thrust at me (with no apologies), and it turned out the room was next to the one I just left. So I took the long walk back to that wing. Despite the TV having sound but no picture and the heater unit being EXTREMELY loud (and not very adept at meeting the set temperature), I finally got to bed by 12:15 am, only to be startled 20 minutes later by a phone call from the front desk to find out if everything in my room was satisfactory.
And I ended up turning off the heater unit (too loud) and buried myself under the covers in order to get some sleep.
