Rated 5 out of 5 by Greatness From checking to the bar to the help of getting a cab. Great service and very comfy December 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by The heating system was generally inferior Gues room, lobby, restaurant were continually cold December 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The staff, their service and the rooms were outstanding This Staff and the hotel was really a very nice experience. If there were minor concerns the staff, in general, would provide the best service possible. Among the staff that were at their best were Ashley, Charlie, Angela and Sarah. December 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice Hotel, Sketchy Srvice This is a very nice hotel. We have stayed there on numerous occasions. The rooms are always comfortable, spacious, clean, and the entire facility is inviting. Unfortunately, on our last stay this past Thanksgiving, it was obvious the kitchen staff were completely overwhelmed. We waited 45 minutes for our breakfast. The couple behind us with three children waited over an hour. In the past we have often received great service at this hotel. At other times, though, it has been sketchy and low staff morale has been obvious. November 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Bet in Petaluma We stay here frequently. There is nothing else in Petaluma that even comes close. The adjacent wetlands trails are wonderful for a brisk walk, the Happy Hour is very good for a quick bite and you are just minutes from downtown with all the great shopping and eating. You can also get to the town of Sonoma or the seashore easily by scenic back-roads or to Marin and San Francisco by 101. November 27, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Overnight Stay The lobby was not as luxurious. Not match attention to detail in terms of amenities - I did not have shampoo November 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Your rates have doubled ! We have always stayed here when visiting family in the Bay Area. Unfortunately you have priced us out with your room fees. $267.78 for one nights stay. We can afford it, but choose not to. Maybe the new Casino is both a curse and a blessing depending on perspectives. We hosted a party of 12 at the Tolay. At least the restaurant prices were still reasonable - for now anyway! November 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Relaxing weekend Overall the room and the hotel met my needs. The staff were very friendly. I would stay there again. It did seem odd that many or all of the staff that I spoke with or asked questions of seemed to be so new on the job that they could not answer some questions or be of help. They were still great though. I was not impressed with the restaurant Tolay's food, prices or overall service. Not horrible, but not great either. Sorry. The clock on the computer was 6 hours off. The clock in the workout room was an hour and a half off and the clock in my room was 1 hour off. There was a lightbulb out in a lamp in the room. When I parked my car in the parking lot it was hard to get out of the door because the bush was so overgrown. There were other smaller things like that I noticed. I don't point out the small details to complain, but more of what I noticed that could be improved upon. Again, the staff was very friendly. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were awesome. I loved having the newspapers available to read in the morning and the coffee in the room. The room was perfect for what I needed though and would stay there again. Thank you for allowing pets ! Rated 4 out of 5 by Restaurant was bad The restaurant was under staffed, only one server for our large group. We were setted at 8:00 and never got our breakfast until 9:10. The tour bus arrived at 9:15 so we could only eat part of our breakfast. The employes tried calling the manager about the problem but he was always unavalable. You need a new restaurant manager. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great view Good location. Our second floor room had great views of the marina and marsh. Quiet and clean. November 4, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing We were looking forward to a fun weekend in the wine country and did manage to have a good time in spite of the disappointing experience at this hotel. A specific example was the very meager fare in the Club Lounge. I have had much better free breakfasts at very inexpensive express hotels. The coffee machine in the Club Lounge was broken most of the time and I am not happy until I get my morning coffee. Another example of a small but unnecessary annoyance was the lack of an available luggage cart to move our things to the car upon checkout. They were all in use by supply delivery guys who should bring their own hand trucks instead of monopolizing those intended for guests. Our room keys only worked sometimes so we had to keep going to the front desk - major hassle. November 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Wonderful Experience! Warm reception staff. Room was large, comfortable and well appointed. Great Starbuck's coffee! Food in restaurant was excellent. Relaxing location. October 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great time... My wife and I experienced exceptional service from this hotel. We loved the hiking trails behind the property October 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Clean, Easy and Good in Petaluma/Sonoma Easy/plentiful free parking and welcoming check-in. Spacious room (with a safe). Decent fitness room. On premise dining with a coffee shop in the same building. Easy to drive to/from the area. October 13, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Terrible Restaurant and Catering Service The service at the hotel restaurant was very slow and unresponsive. It took over 2.5 hours to have a 3 course meal. It would have been longer if we hadn't said anything. The food was good but not good enough to wait over an hour for our food. October 7, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Needs work While in a great location I would not recommend staying at this hotel. 5 quick reasons: 1. No luggage assistance upon check-in. 2. No recognition as Platinum member upon checking-in. 3. The host in the club lounge on Friday, October 4 never said a word to any of the guests arriving into the lounge. When asked a question about how the coffee machine worked he seemed irritated with having to make an effort. 4. One server for breakfast. The hotel seemed understaffed and of those there several lacked proper training. 20 minutes for oatmeal that was luke-warm and cement like upon arrival. 5. Woken up on Sat, Oct 5 by the fire alarm. One positive, the employee in the coffee lounge in the morning of Oct 6th was awesome. Great cappuccino and very friendly. October 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice but not perfect The staffs were polite and friendly, including technical staff we met in elevator and pool. Pool was well maintained and our kid liked it. Food in the lounge was nice. Guest service was responsive. The bed was comfortable and the bed sheet was clean. The internet was free and worked well. The room was quiet except air conditioner. The decor was contemporary. However, there were a few imperfections. (1) There were a bunch of hair on the wall above bath tub when we checked in. (2) When I pulled out the retractable clothesline above the tub, I saw a few colors. (3) The in-room air conditioner unit was noisy and unable to adjust the fan speed. (4) My room was small even though we were on the club floor. Overall, we enjoyed the environment and would recommend to others. October 7, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Its the little things Called two weeks ahead to advise hotel that my dog would be traveling with me. When checking in Brian the clerk told me the first floor pet friendly rooms were sold out. To his credit he put us in a room on the 2nd floor, gave us club room access and made sure to offer the extra benefits for SPG Gold members. It worked out fine, but since the hotel had been notified two weeks prior to check-in that I would have my dog with me, a room on the first floor should have been blocked for me. Went for a morning swim at 9;00 AM. Pool was locked up tight even though opening time is 7:00 AM. Front desk offered to have the pool opened in 10 to 15 min. Didn't want to wait around the lobby in my swimsuit so I told them not to bother for me. Club lounge is really an afterthought at this location. Terrible stale pastries and soggy oatmeal at breakfast and no drinks in fridge in the afternoon.. Also, it should be have been cleaner. All in all, i would return if I needed a place to stay, but my expectations would be much lower. September 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Conference kudos I was attending a large 5-day arts workshops. Conference facilities excellent..over and above expectations for the individual workshops. Staff very courteous and friendly at all times. Loved 'Green Choice' option for room. Bar menu and service excellent. September 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A nice view of the Marina The shower head is not usable if you are under 6 feet tall. My Wife is 5' 2" and would get drowned if she was to use the shower head. Some women do not wash their hair every night. September 27, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Enjoy swimming at the pool It was a very hot weekend, so we decided to get away from the heat. The kids loved the pool. September 9, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Location Rooms are spacious and well appointed. The staff is friendly and professional. Hotel is easy to access from highways and provides a great location for wine country visits. September 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasant hotel The hotel is in a nice location, clean, pleasant and helpful staff. September 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Room small for price Hotel was nice and Lobby was nice. But for the price I would have expected a bigger nicer room. September 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bartender The female bartender was rude and unpleasant to the point that I wanted to avoid the bar. September 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful Getaway We spent the weekend at this hotel and were very pleasantly surprised by the luxurious room, helpful/friendly staff, and good food. September 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by weekend stay The facility was great, staff were excellent. The service award goes to Wendy, what a great personality and provided great service for our breakfast and drinks at the pool. Excellent location. I do think the beds need to be replaced, we had better beds while we were on the road. August 25, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Would Not Patronize Again I made this reservation because we became aware of the need to travel to the area at the last minute, and it came up as one of the few places available. The price for a very ordinary room was around $350 for one night, and this was to include a $25 prepaid debit master card, and some sort of coca cola cooler deal. The master card was in the room when we returned that night in an envelope shoved under our door. The soda deal never materialized. We got very little for a lot of money, including a hotel that looks like it's overdue for some renovation and sprucing up. The internet connection in the room was very iffy, and kept working or needing re-setting. The places we customarily patronize in the Marin/Sonoma Counties area offer much more for half the price. We won't be coming back. August 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Everything but the Bed Our stay was pleasant for the exception of the comfort of the bed itself. The mattress was uncomfortable on our backs. Staff was friendly, room was clean, pool was great for the children. August 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Front Desk Team Could not have asked for better treatment from the staff August 19, 2013
