Rated 2 out of 5 by Great personnel Very disappointed in the quality of the room. I was in room 350 with a slow drain in the sink, a noisy gutter with a view of the roof, and an adjoining room with the door latch unlocked one day during my stay. In addition, one afternoon, house services tried entering my room with a house key but I had the security latch and denied entry. The houseman told me that I was supposed to check out! This was on Thursday and my check out was on Saturday April 5th! Decaf coffee only left in my room. No shuttle service. Very inadequate compared to the other Sheraton hotels I have experienced. The staff tried to explain each of these issues, but none were resolved during my stay. The restaurant staff was very kind and attentive and the food was delicious. April 6, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Clean and modern hotel. My mother and I enjoyed this hotel in our getaway. Staff quite helpful and friendly. Restaurant was a relaxing place to catch up and have a glass of wine. We will recommend this place to our friends. March 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by couple of minor misses The AC wasn't working, the room didn't get too bad, but it would be miserable on warmer days. I ended up leaving my window cracked open the second day overnight, normally not a big deal, but I was on the first floor. I don't know if it was ducks or other animals, but they left behind little presents on the walkway outside my window facing the marina. They have a nice trail from the parking lot that goes to the marshlands. March 17, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by You're unwelcome When I arrived to the hotel at 6:30pm I didn't expect to arrive to a lobby of 20 people standing in line without a receptionist. I also didn't expect to have a 30 minute wait to get checked in. There was no explanation as to why we had to wait and some people were turned away because the hotel was overbooked. An SPG Platinum member that was in line in front of me was upset because he is supposed to have a special line and was forced to wait and didn't get the room he wanted. There were other staff members that would walk up to the reception counter but didn't offer to help out or say anything. They went to reception and got out as fast as they could. I would never recommend a hotel that doesn't concern themselves with their patrons' well being or whether they have somewhere else to be. February 19, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Noisy heater We stayed in a deluxe room with 11,000 Starwood points last weekend to celebrate our 10th anniversary, though it's not worth it. Nothing impressive. When we checked in, the hotel staff looked tired of many guests and weren't friendly at all, but check-out was OK. Complimentary wifi was great, but it's too bad the hotel doesn't provide slippers and bathrobes. Most of all, the heater in the room (#210) was extremely noisy, we couldn't relax as well as sleep at all. Overall the hotel was OK, but isn't worth the 11,000 points. February 17, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed As an SPG member for a number of years now, we expected a little better room, our view was the backside of the air conditioning units and I do not believe the hotel was full. The carpet was badly stained, housekeeping did not leave us any wash cloths one day, they did not leave us coffee cups and condiments the second day, but the worst was finding someone's very large toe nail in our bed. I expect more than this from a Sheraton. We were very disapointed February 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The place to stay if you want comfort and courteous staff The room was very clean. I slept wonderfully as the bed was very comfortable, but what impressed me the most was the complimentary bottle of wine for my tenth stay there. That was a very classy move on their part. I would recommend this hotel. Also their staff was very courteous and helpful. Way to go Sheraton Petaluma! February 6, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good stay in area with limited options I stay here regularly on business and have been generally satisfied. One issue is the late afternoon happy hour, which is popular, and if you don't arrive right at the beginning - or wedge yourself into the crowd around the bar - the service is slow and inattentive. Last visit after a long wait I finally got served by staff from the adjoining restaurant. My suggestion is that Sheraton adequately staffs the lounge or eliminate happy hour. I'd prefer to pay full price for a higher level of service. January 26, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Many mediocre stays I've stayed at this particular Sheraton about a dozen times and it's consistently just a pretty good experience. The facility is nice but the service is very mixed. The front desk generally seems understaffed. There is often a line and except for one or two of the staff, they often seem rushed, confused and a bit rude. Customer service is a weak point. The gift shop always opens 15mins to 1 hour late, which is annoying when I''m trying to get a morning coffee there. The Internet access is very spotty and very slow. Tech support was not helpful. The Fitness room is poorly kept (sometimes missing towels and water). But the rooms are clean and very comfortable and the hotel is modern and well-equiped. January 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Nice This is my first time to stay in this hotel, and I must say, my stay was very pleasant. The staff was able to check us in early and was even able to accommodate my friend's request for a room with a marina view and on the same floor where I was. The lobby was beautiful and our room was nice. I had a view of the marina, too! Being a techy, I enjoyed their free and fast Wi-fi connection and the fact that I could control their tv with my mobile phone! The fridge in the room was convenient for having a late snack at night and I love the availability of the safe in the room for my valuables. Located in the quiet city of Petaluma, it was very convenient indeed that the hospital where I was assigned was less than 2 miles away from the hotel. My only area for improvement was that our hotel card key, for some reason, was always getting demagnetized. I tried to keep it away from my cellphone, but it would not work on the club lounge door and my hotel room. I had to have it changed twice. Other than that, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, making my business trip a truly pleasurable one. January 14, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Pets and Rusdness We stayed for two nights (Dec 20-21, 2103) at the Petaluma Sheraton. It's in a beautiful setting and we had no problem with the comfortable, quiet room. However, we were not told at check in that this is a Pet Friendly place. I love pets but I am allergic to them. I slept badly but didn't know why: then I heard dogs running up and down the hall. Then I noticed dog hairs all over the lobby, on the rugs and chairs, where I was sitting. When my husband asked, a staff member admitted our room was in the Pet Friendly area. I could have had an asthma attack, instead of "just" suffering from the allergies that bothered me to point of not being able to sleep. But here is the worst part: when we asked to speak with the guest service manager, and was told she would be in later after we checked-out, I left my cell number. She never returned my call. I called her 5 times and left messages, always being told by the front desk that she would be in later. Then I called the Central Manager and left him a message. No return call. Although they were both out at some point for vacation, I know from the front desk they were both in numerous times when I called, although obviously busy and I was always put through to their voice mail. How rude! What terrible customer relations. The only kindness came from the nice woman working the Starbucks mini café next to the front desk who overheard my pet-related problems and how I hadn't been asked if pet friendly was OK for me (not). She gave me a free cup of coffee. Thank you, whoever you were, because that's the only response I ever received from anyone at the hotel. Shame on you, managers! We would have stayed with our daughter in Petaluma but she has a cat! December 29, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Absolutely no SPG recognition...ever I have stayed here monthly since the end of the summer. As a platinum, I have yet to be upgraded, even when I ask for it and the hotel is more or less empty. The lounge serves among the skimpiest and least healthy breakfasts of any Sheraton, this in spite of the hotel promoting "local cuisine" in its high end restaurant. The staff ranges from pleasantly incompetent to unpleasantly incompetent. I think my final staw with this Sheraton was a few days ago. A wide variety of suites were available when I booked and checked in an hour later. I asked for a suite upgrade and was told none were available. When I then showed the clerk all the suites that were currently on offer, she reluctanly "upgraded" me to a junior suite. This micro room was no suite. The room I was assigned barely held a bed and a chair. I would guess it was around 250-300 square feet. It is among the smallest if not the smallest room in the hotel, according to the hotel plan which I asked to see upon checkout. I was too tired to go back down to the desk after all that. Add insult to injury: I was billed for a rollaway which could not have possibly fit into the room. MANAGEMENT PROBLEM? December 26, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice Hotel, Sketchy Srvice This is a very nice hotel. We have stayed there on numerous occasions. The rooms are always comfortable, spacious, clean, and the entire facility is inviting. Unfortunately, on our last stay this past Thanksgiving, it was obvious the kitchen staff were completely overwhelmed. We waited 45 minutes for our breakfast. The couple behind us with three children waited over an hour. In the past we have often received great service at this hotel. At other times, though, it has been sketchy and low staff morale has been obvious. November 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Bet in Petaluma We stay here frequently. There is nothing else in Petaluma that even comes close. The adjacent wetlands trails are wonderful for a brisk walk, the Happy Hour is very good for a quick bite and you are just minutes from downtown with all the great shopping and eating. You can also get to the town of Sonoma or the seashore easily by scenic back-roads or to Marin and San Francisco by 101. November 27, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Your rates have doubled ! We have always stayed here when visiting family in the Bay Area. Unfortunately you have priced us out with your room fees. $267.78 for one nights stay. We can afford it, but choose not to. Maybe the new Casino is both a curse and a blessing depending on perspectives. We hosted a party of 12 at the Tolay. At least the restaurant prices were still reasonable - for now anyway! November 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Relaxing weekend Overall the room and the hotel met my needs. The staff were very friendly. I would stay there again. It did seem odd that many or all of the staff that I spoke with or asked questions of seemed to be so new on the job that they could not answer some questions or be of help. They were still great though. I was not impressed with the restaurant Tolay's food, prices or overall service. Not horrible, but not great either. Sorry. The clock on the computer was 6 hours off. The clock in the workout room was an hour and a half off and the clock in my room was 1 hour off. There was a lightbulb out in a lamp in the room. When I parked my car in the parking lot it was hard to get out of the door because the bush was so overgrown. There were other smaller things like that I noticed. I don't point out the small details to complain, but more of what I noticed that could be improved upon. Again, the staff was very friendly. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were awesome. I loved having the newspapers available to read in the morning and the coffee in the room. The room was perfect for what I needed though and would stay there again. Thank you for allowing pets ! Rated 4 out of 5 by Restaurant was bad The restaurant was under staffed, only one server for our large group. We were setted at 8:00 and never got our breakfast until 9:10. The tour bus arrived at 9:15 so we could only eat part of our breakfast. The employes tried calling the manager about the problem but he was always unavalable. You need a new restaurant manager. Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing We were looking forward to a fun weekend in the wine country and did manage to have a good time in spite of the disappointing experience at this hotel. A specific example was the very meager fare in the Club Lounge. I have had much better free breakfasts at very inexpensive express hotels. The coffee machine in the Club Lounge was broken most of the time and I am not happy until I get my morning coffee. Another example of a small but unnecessary annoyance was the lack of an available luggage cart to move our things to the car upon checkout. They were all in use by supply delivery guys who should bring their own hand trucks instead of monopolizing those intended for guests. Our room keys only worked sometimes so we had to keep going to the front desk - major hassle. November 4, 2013
