Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid But Oh So Simple OVERALL IMPRESSION: Nothing terribly wrong with this place (except WiFi, see below) but - except for very attentive service - also very little to find memorable. I was told by a member of staff that this is the smallest Sheraton in the network and it showed - it was pared down of all the usual bells and whistles - tiny Reception, virtually no lobby to speak of, narrow hallways, small rooms. SPG RECOGNITION: Great. Upgrade to Junior Suite and lovely in-room amenity. No Club Lounge but Buffet Breakfast offered on a complimentary basis in the ground-floor Jardin de Suisse Restaurant. THE ROOM: A nicely furnished Junior Suite but smaller than a standard double in most Sheraton properties. Miniscule bathroom with a single tiny sink. LOCATION: In the central business district but not premium. Tram stops nearby connect to the station. EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS: As well as my preferred sparkling mineral water and a lovely bottle of Prosecco, there was a menu card inviting me to order one of three great snack options at my leisure. This came in very handy and was a wonderful green garlic terrine and smoked salmon with crusty bread. DID NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS: For a hotel which I would imagine deals almost exclusively with business people, it is hard to believe there is no WiFi available in the rooms! As a Platinum, I was invited to use the cable but IT DID NOT WORK. I even changed rooms in the urgency to get some work done and it still didn’t work. The very kind reception clerk finally offered my a voucher to use on the independent WiFi provider available in the rooms but (although she said it was for 3 hours) it had only 30 minutes validity. Rated 5 out of 5 by Home away from home We love going to the Zurich Sheraton. Altough a smaller hotel the empolyees are the same team eveytime we go. They are always willing to go above and beyond and are happy to help with anything. April 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Personalized attention The hotel is a smaller location that is conveniently located with a staff that provides much personalized attention. May 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent service I spend about 3 weeks per year in this hotel and the service is always excellent! April 8, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not up to standards for Platinum SPG Members I was not happy with this hotel due to many technical issues. The television did not work in my suite, the Internet situation is awful whereas to log in to WIFI one must either pay a third party for room access or venture to the hotel lobby. The hotel is overpriced like all of Zurich. Let's face it, this is a Sheraton property with the prices of the Luxury Collections. The manger did offer to move me to another room, but I felt replacing the television made more sense---that was declined. Upon check out I was offered 2000 SPG points for my "trouble" which was a slap in my face. At the very least for the business I give to Starwood, I would consider being happy starting with 20,000 bonus points while contemplating a stay in the future. To sum it all up, I was very unproductive in my meetings and I was out of touch with the world for current events. Both are vital to my business. To add insult to injury, the car service prices to the airport quoted by the front desk are 15 Swiss Francs less than the actual price demanded by their "recommended car service". This leaves a cash short situation when planning in the price quoted. April 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very friendly and warm Mark at the reception desk is very friendly and considerate. Hotel itself also is in a very good location. Room is designed with good taste. April 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent central location I stayed at the Sheraton in February for several nights and loved this hotel. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. They accommodated every request I made and went out of their way to be helpful including providing me with a meal in the lobby alcove when the restaurant wasn't open. The hotel itself is not large but the rooms are comfortable and immaculate. I should add that I am a Starwood platinum member so I receive an upgrade which will affect the room I'm given. But I stayed on 3 separate occasions and each room was spacious. The wireless internet is not always functioning perfectly, even in the lobby. The restaurant associated with the hotel serves a wonderful breakfast. The location is very central and within walking distance to much of the downtown area. I will definitely stay here again and can recommend it without hesitation. March 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Overall excellent service and hotel We stayed several nights and thoroughly enjoyed this lovely, sophisticated hotel matched by equally lovely and sophisticated staff. The rooms are spacious, high tech and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast is wonderful as is the lovely lady assisting in the dining room. The hotel is very close to the lake in a quiet street. The hotel treats SPG guests above expectations and is generous in providing free intenet in the foyer to all guests. January 27, 2012
