The Sheraton Pasadena was the third Sheraton in three days of our vacation. The others were Carlsbad and Agoura Hills. The check in for Pasadena was delayed to after 4PM because of late check out of other guests. I assume late checkouts are OK for some level of guest and those impacted can stand around. We (our friends and us) changed our room from the Club Floor to a regular room in order to finally check in. Got into the room about 1630.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AM21 No Heat
The room type I reserved was not available on arrival and so I accepted another room type with a rate adjustment and vouchers for breakfast. We went out for the evening and returned at 10:30pm to a cold room. I could not get the heater to work. Hotel engineering came and said the heater was broken so he could replace it or offer blankets. As the room was so cold we opted for the replacement. An hour and two replacements later the heater was not working and the hotel sold out we were stuck with no heat. It was a miserable night. Which was compensated for by some Starwood points on my account. When I mentioned our experience to the desk on checkout I was greeted with "I'm sorry, how would you like to pay for the room?". Perhaps an offer to talk to the manager might come up? This is my second unsatisfactory visit to this property and probably my last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Zoe02184 Great conference location
I just returned from a six-night stay at the Sheraton Pasadena and can't recommend it highly enough. It's conveniently located right next to the Conference Center/Civic Auditorium, plus it's very close to Old Pasadena, which makes it perfectly located for business and travel alike. From check-in to departure, the staff were consistently friendly, helpful and ready to accommodate your requests--they were the best part of the experience!

Rated 3 out of 5 by John72 Good but disappointing
The hotel itself is very nice--the room is clean and very well appointed. I was frustrated to have reserved a King Deluxe but when I arrived I was informed that they only had doubles left. This, however, was a lie as the manager was able to put me in a regular king with a few taps on the keyboard. I was also disappointed that internet access was not included ($9.99 per day seems a bit stiff) nor was parking ($15/day--but not valet).

Rated 5 out of 5 by sadao2012 three times is a charm...
this was my third visit to the sheraton pasadena hotel for the month of may, 2012. and i did enjoy each of my visits. my first impression of this hotel was the friendliness and professionalism of the front desk staff. you are met cordially, receive your room key package in no time and you're off to your room. enjoyed my breakfast buffet at the soleil restaurant with all day coffee refills. regretfully, i did not make it to the gym. at this hotel's location, we are in easy walking distance to the south lake avenue district and old pasadena. best of all, you are right back of paseo colorado - a shopping mall with macy's, scores of restaurants and bars and shops. best of all was gelson's super market with everything you could possibly need. the sheraton pasadena hotel is centrally located in pasadena. enjoy the staff, the facilities and the location. great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Paul667 Not What I expected from a Sheraton
I booked 2 rooms on Club level, 4 months ago and requested an early checkin. We tried to checkin at 1pm (as requested), but the rooms were not ready. Tried again at 3pm and again at 4pm...rooms still not available. They called me at 5pm and rooms were available. They were not on Club level and were not even close to each other. My 2 rooms were at opposite ends of the hotel which was very inconvenient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pasadena11 Front desk employee needs training
One of the front desk personnel was completely incompetent. Whenever we arrived early at a SPG hotel, we were able to check in early, even if the room wasn't ready. We would return later to pick up our room key when the room was available. This employee told us that she wasn't able to do it and essentially told us to come back later. We waited in line for a different provider, who was able to check us in.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MSLuster Why does this room have stairs?
The "executive" room that my Starwood status apparently got me was strange. The bathroom and closet were on a little landing near the room door, and then rest of the room was four stairs below. It was very inconvenient to have to go up and down the stairs to use the bathroom and access the closet, least of all carry my suitcase. There was very little furniture for the size of the space, and it was dated and worn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cathy93 Good experience but....
We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is pleasant and clean, but this time your latte/expresso machine was broken... So looking forward to a latte with breakfast, we are too lazy to walk to the off-site Starbucks... In 2014 it's a normal amenity...
A coffee bar area with TV's would be great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PULAOKHAO AVERAGE EXPERIENCE
For the price paid, it was just average value. Location is good. Parking is expensive at $18 ; it was not clear to me whether it would be cheaper to pay the convention rate for night for $10 directly to parking instead of hotel but front desk said it would be charged twice once past midnight. do not know if that is true. room was excellent; had fridge but no microwave. ask for room overlooking the front or Cordova St and not back or convention center. Great location. Expensive breakfast with average food. The staff did what they were supposed to but were not friendly or helpful. For example, there was NEW YORK TIMES at front desk and I asked for one and checkout clerk grudgingly and reluctantly gave me one. My starwood rewards membership was never acknowledged and i was denied an upgrade to club floor even though i had called earlier to request one. I found the bed comfortable

Rated 3 out of 5 by Natalie Staff shortage?
None of our voicemail messages were retrievable. The message light never went off even after asking for someone to come to the room to fix it. which never happened. The banquet for the Questers which we attended was very so-so. The desserts both nights were almost identical.
My vegetarian meal on the first banquet night was 80% spinach with ravioli but no sauce. Not good. The chicken entree the others had, however, was considered good.
The walls were so thin between some rooms that one of our friends said she could hear the guy in the next room snoring. Yikes.
We did not eat breakfast at the hotel as it was way overpriced. One friend had orange juice , toast and coffee and it cost her more than the buffet. How ridiculous is that.
The staff themselves were very nice, but as I said, it seemed the hotel staff was shorthanded. Maids were still cleaning rooms when we went to dinner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Zaro Nice hotel
I am very disturbed that parking is not included as a hotel guest. I was not informed of this and it was an added expense that I wasn't informed of earlier. Also I was not informed that an extra amount is charged to my account for approximately 5 days until the actual lesser charge will then go into effect. I am quite angry with the way this has been handled and the misinformation or lack of.

Rated 4 out of 5 by D1984 Convenient
The room was exquisite and the bed comfortable. Downside was that the electrical outlets were far and few in between. The complimentary water can also be confusing since the larger bottle is not complimentary but is next to the complimentary one.
Geovanni at the front desk was pleasant to interact with.
The hotel is literally within a walks distance of banks, restaurants, rail and other attractions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by nick50 have stayed here before, but probably the worst expereince this time.
Poorly trained staff at front desk. Not very friendly or helpful. Did not follow through on my request to get final folio in paper or electronic format until 36 hours after checkout. phone servcie poor. held on phone for over 20 minutes. Operator stated she thought she could help but was useless. very bad exerperience for a Platinum customer. Restaurant issues with waitress not getting order correct.

The worst Sheraton I have stayed at. Houskeeping needs to be trained about the overuse of the carpet deodorizer. Overall seemed rundown. And $18 to park for the night is excessive. This isn't San Francisco.

Rated 2 out of 5 by stephanie14 This hotel did not meet my expectations
I was excited to stay in the Pasadena area and booked this Sheraton hotel. Compared to other Sheraton locations, this did not meet my expectations at all.
There were overpowering odors throughout the hotel, specifically in the lobby area of the hotel. The elevator was long as took forever. The hotel staff were not knowledgeable about good places to eat in town. The rooms were okay, a bit dated.

They gave me "Starwood Preferred Guest" room. Clock hadn't been adjusted more than a month after daylight savings time. Leftover food in the mini-fridge from previous guest. TV didn't work and after engineer "fixed" it only the analog channels worked. This property locks their thermostats to go no lower than 70 degrees so enjoy a warm toasty sleep on those hot LA nights.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MrAAAAA Sheraton Pasadena Hotel
-Very short and convenient commute to the Pasadena Convention Center.
-Variety of nearby stores and shops in the immediate area.
-First floor suites have about six stairs from the entrance door, due to the level difference from the door to the bedrooms.
-Parking fee is issued to guests staying at the hotel at $18 (U.S.) per day.
-Wifi is broadcasted by the hotel with a usage fee.

Rated 1 out of 5 by a9101 Needs improvement
Your hotel needs better wifi service and the rooms are not really that great for the price. You should include free wi fi. it kept disconnecting. Shower heads are not modernized and not easily adjusted for hot or cold. Also, the sofa or chair furniture is not comfortable. clock radio outdated. Major renovation for your bar area is needed. It is so small. Not a place I would go to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MSLuster Dated and Tired
This hotel needs a renovation. It's in a great location, but the rooms (esp mine) needs to be changed. The bathroom and closet are on a small landing level, and the rest of the room is on the lower level. There was one desk chair and one upholstered chair, and a giant king sized bed in this huge room. It was weird, and smelled a bit moldy. I love this location but the hotel needs fixing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cap59 Very worn condition
The hotel is in need of repairs and updating. Walls and woodworking are scuffed, wallpaper pealing, popcorn ceilings are FILTHY (are these rooms that were previously smoked in?) and in general the hotel has a run down, out of date appearance. Staff members are awesome, hotel restaurant was good and Bedding is comfortable but I would not stay there again. Elevators extremely slow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by roxy05 good place and good staff
We were changed to the Club level when our room wasn't ready at 7:00pm when we checked in. We were not happy, but this was a nice upgrade and we enjoyed the Club level amenities. The Air Conditioning unit is TERRIBLY LOUD and makes it difficult for a restful sleep. besides that-Overall-the bar, computers, staff and hotel is very good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Philly1234 Horrible Service
I booked a double bed room and checked in. When I went to the room I noticed that is a single bed. I called the front desk and asked them to switch and they said they were all booked so couldn't. We decided to change hotels and the manager wouldn't refund my points. I think it was totally unfair that I got the wrong room and they wouldn't refund me for it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JD0119 Room for improvement
I was on town for 6 days on business and the Internet was down for 3 and a half of those days. There is only so much that can be done from a phone. That was bad, but worse was that I kept getting the run around of when I could expect it to be fixed. Then on day 4 the techs came to my room, did something to the router and Internet was up again.
Needless to say not pleased

Rated 2 out of 5 by TryOtherHotels This hotel needs improvement.
There were loud noise until midnight from the swimming pool area for at least two days in a row. The hotel did not regulate the hours of the pool party.
The front-desk service during our stay was below average. We had two problems in our two bills and four times of non-working parking key cards and room cards. The staff fixed the problems but the process took long time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GymMom Great Location, Clean
We picked this hotel because it was attached to the convention center and it worked out well. It's a short walk to lots of shopping and restaurants, too. The room was clean, and we appreciated the desk and easy chair. But for four people, the beds were not OK. (Double beds are hard to share with anyone but an intimate partner, esp when they're soft so you roll towards the middle.) And, despite reserving for four people we only had 3 sets of towels, 2 cups, etc. Just not enough supplies. Even though we were out of the room all day, at 5:30 pm I had to call to get our room made up. Breakfast was very good quality, but not worth the high price of the bufffet; it would've been nice to see a menu with some lower cost items. (Single item prices are so high that the buffet is really the only option.) Day 2, we ate across the street instead. Over all, this hotel was fine, but a few changes could've made the experience great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by End21189 Good hotel with nearby attractions!
Pros: onsite amenities, upgraded to a club room for free. Desirable location, within walking distance to the Pasadena mall! Cons:$18/day parking fee, which I had not learned of until I checked in! Had I known, I might have considered elsewhere. I asked for a room away from elevators, instead I was next to the elevators and it got noisy at night and in the early AM.

Rated 4 out of 5 by pomdeterre Excellent Staff & Service
Stayed 4 nights, 31 October through 4 November, 2013. Hotel completely sold out for weekend, yet one would never know from the personal and prompt attention we received. Two rather significant issues at check-in were immediately resolved by Victoria, night manager. Juan, wait staff & bar, was a true pleasure as was Nicholas, one of the porters/ shuttle drivers.
Rooms were well appointed and quiet. Problem with closet door coming off track was immediately resolved. I would, however, suggest installation of bathroom exhaust fans as well as the ability to set air conditioning to at least 65 degrees- it is currently locked at 70, a bit warm for my preferences.
Hotel is centrally located in very safe neighborhood. Very easy to reach many attractions and restaurants on foot.
If flying out of LAX, allow at least 1.5 hours drive time & car rental return.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Pasadena area.

Rated 2 out of 5 by EMS1111111 In desperate need of a renovation
- Gym facilities were woefully inadequate. Located in a windowless room with low ceilings. At 6'3" I couldn't use the eliptical machines nor the treadmill without hitting my head on the ceiling. Come on.
- A/C in room was incredibly noisy and made it sound like someone was trying to get into my room all night long.
- Good location in the heart on Pasadena.
