Next door to the Convention Center. Across from the Paseo Colorado (mall) which includes numerous restaurants, shops, and a movie theater. One block from Colorado Avenue (with numerous Metro bus lines). Half mile from a 'dinner/movie' (iPic) with fancy comfy seats and food service. Half mile from the Metro Gold line (train to Union Station and other lines). We were provided a standard "map" at check-in, but it would have been nice to have been given information on how to use the Metro; we ended up feeling stupid and asking strangers on the street for help. The breakfast buffet is very nice, but pricy. We refused to pay the extra daily fee for in-room Internet but there were three "free" computer stations (with a printer) in the lobby that we used for checking email. We stayed for four nights but did not receive the special "do not clean our room" tag until day three -- and the fine print on the tag said "must be displayed by 2 am to receive points/credit at check-out." Why did they not give us this, and explain it, at check-in? Finally, there is no outside indicator for which of the three elevators has arrived, and there is no outside indicator for up or down -- we, and many other guests, rode the wrong way many times during our stay. The in-room programmable safe is free.

We chose the hotel because of the proximity to the event we were attending. Reserved room 3 weeks prior. 5 days before check-in, my card was charged $60+ over the amount of the hotel incl taxes, etc. Called up hotel and they said...oops.They would credit it back right away (it's been 5 days and we still haven't received the money).
Reservation stated King room. Called ahead to confirm room available and they said yes. Autumn gave us a room. It had 2 beds. Called front desk to ask for the King room. Autumn again-"We may not have that room because we are sooo booked!"<eyes rolling> Finally go downstairs and get new keys. New room on 1st floor. Door to access hallway to room won't open. 3 families locked out of hallway and waiting. Go to front desk again, with group of other annoyed guests. Manager says to wait for maintenance (go management! that's why you get the extra dollar). That was it for me...we had already wasted 1 hour trying to get into our room. Demanded a new room and finally got a King bed. The purpose of the reservation process is a little hazy with Sheraton. Will not be doing this again.
They did offer us drink and breakfast coupons...and Richie was really nice....but seriously...Sheraton still owes us $60. Oh and we were supposed to get a $25 amazon gift card...don't think that's on its way any time soon either.

My stay here back in October 2011, restored confidence that there is at least one hotel in the states that knows how to provide excellent service in the hotel industry. Because of this I will seek out Sheraton's whenever I travel away from home.
I travel a lot and often both here in the states and Europe and I always thought that maybe I was just spoiled by the German and Swiss standards of service I always receive when in Europe until I stayed here in October. I was so pleased to find a hotel that provided the same excellent customer service from the front desk all the way to the housekeeping department.
My needs were anticipated and the staff at the front desk went above and beyond in helping me locate a good shoe store, offering a coupon and getting me there as well. They pick up from rail station and drop off as well. Never an attitude just great help and a smile.
The restaurant was wonderful and the staff was incredible, for me rivaling even many of the Europe places I have eaten at. They anticipated all my needs and more without bugging you as can happened if too much attention is paid. There was no bugging here just great service in the food, personality, ambiance and price. I had read somewhere else before staying here that the buffet was too meager for the price. The price added to your room was only $5 a day! I don't know what else the person who complained expected but there was a full spread of great food and many choices. Not sure what more they were expected, seems they just wanted to complain about something I guess. I was very pleased however.
I just can't say even good but true things about this Sheraton and would stay here again in a heart beat and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants great priced, high quality customer care, great eats and bar accommodations away from home.
Again a personal thank you to all the staff that made my stay very pleasant and comfortable I greatly appreciated it and will be back when I come to Pasadena again.

I am a Starwood Preferred Guest member and I am always extremely satisfied with all of my stays at Starwood properties. I booked a room at the Sheraton Pasadena because I was attending a concert at the Rose Bowl. Check-in is at 3 PM and I arrived early at 2:30 to see if there were any rooms already available. I was told that my room would be definitely ready in an hour (past 3 pm check-in time), but was asked for my phone number in case it would be ready earlier. Never got a phone call, but showed up two hours later (4:30 pm) since I was told it would be "definitely" ready by 3:30. A couple of my friends that were also staying at the Sheraton arrived at 4:00 and were given their keys to their rooms. I figured it was safe to assume that i would be allowed to finally check-in. By this time, I had cancelled lunch reservations that I had with my out of town friends in order to go back to the Sheraton to check-in and get ready for the concert. It was finally my turn and the lady at the counter did not even acknowledge me. She did not greet me, did not tell me she will be right with me, did not even make eye contact with me until I said "hello, I'm here." I am a big advocate of customer service and this was a total fail. I was extremely baffled by her lack of customer service and professionalism. The other lady behind the counter was also rude and they seemed to not care. There were plenty of guests that were upset about their inability to check-in and these two ladies behind the counter were smiling at each other and giggling each time an upset guest would turn around and leave. Total lack of professionalism, which is not the norm for Starwood employees. The lady then told me that my room would not be ready for another 20 minutes. Are you kidding me?!! I seriously could not fathom what was happening. I explained that I was told it would be ready by 3:30 and that my other friends who arrived later were given their keys. I asked to be compensated somehow for the major inconvenience and demanded free parking, which she said she could do. The man next to me got upset because he was going through the same ordeal, but the lady that was helping him only offered him half off parking a few minutes earlier. Come on Sheraton Pasadena employees...there should be some kind of standard protocol during these type of ordeals. Rightfully so, the man was given free parking eventually. I continued to express my dissatisfaction and was then told another 5 minutes. I asked for the keys and room number then and there since it would take five minutes to gather stuff from bellhop and head up to room. When we got to our room (15 minutes later), housekeeping had just exited. The room smelled like vomit. I asked for some type of spray or sanitizer and the housekeeper came back and sprayed our room. Luckily, the sliding door opened so we were also able to air out the smell. The condition of the room was okay. Again, not the norm for Starwood properties. The next day I wanted to review my summary of charges. How fitting that the TV in the room did not work (room 226). Not only was I unable to get a breakdown of the costs...we could not even watch television. By this time, we were so over it and just wanted to leave the property. Never again will I be staying at this Sheraton and I will definitely warn others not to either. Any SPG member would be so turned off by the lack of professionalism and organization at this property. This is the only Starwood property that I have stayed at that does not live up to the Starwood brand / name.
As of right now, the final cost has not posted to my account so I do not know if I really did get parking charge waived.
