I want to make clear that the hotel staff were excellent (friendly) and the room was clean and comfortable. However, during our stay an elevator was out of service and it caused significant delays in waiting for an elevator to use (stairs are not an option when traveling with older guests).
We checked in on Friday and by the time we checked out on Sunday - the elevator was still out of service. Yes, it is the weekend. But it is also a major city - and I find it hard to believe that repairs could not have been completed sooner. In fact, the morning we checked out - there were two events hosted at the hotel that seemed to be concluding or had ended the night before - waiting for an elevator was an utter nightmare.
My final concern would be value. For what I paid, other locations include wifi in the guest rooms and have free parking or less expensive parking. And this location also does not include breakfast. I felt I was trying to be nickel and dimed for things that should realistically be standard at locations like this.
So if you don't mind paying a little extra (and paying extra for some things) - this is a very clean/comfortable place to stay.

It is always a pleasure to stay at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza in St. Louis. From the prompt and complimentary shuttle pick-up from the airport, to the staff remembering my name, to the club and office set-up, tne Sheraton is my home away from home in St. Louis. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

My family travels from Chicago often to see our St. Louis-based family as well as to take care of family business. We are very comfortable at this Sheraton. The staff is cheerful and helpful; the rooms are very comfortable and quiet and the facilities are useful and attractive. Keep up the good work!

Hotel stay was excellent .Staff was very good every one was very friendly and helpfull. You have a very good worker her name was shay she worked the 14th floor that had the food and drinks. She was very good at her job. Nice location close to mall and shopping. Will return soon had a very good stay.

My husband and I came out for Wash U parents weekend. Once again, we were treated extremely well by all staff. All of our requests were accommodated, with no equivocation.
For the first time, we ordered room service; food was good and quick service.
Thank you once again for a pleasant weekend.

I was disappointed that my room's only window looked into the indoor swimming pool and my shower door was broken causing water to spray all over the bathroom when showering. When I informed the staff at check-out about not having a window they just smiled and said oh yeah one of those rooms.

I picked up the hotel because, of the recommended options by my Vendor, it had a shuttle, both to/from the Airport and in the area, so I'd save the car rental. The rate was the same as the chain I usually stay at. In theory.
Tuns out the shuttle stops at 10 PM (I arrived at 11) and in the morning "it's very crowded, we recommend you take a taxi". Taking the one to the airport at my departure meant getting there 2 hours ahead of time. So I ended up paying 4 taxis, additional internet access charges (who does that in 2012?) and an 18% mandatory tip on room service (in addition to the delivery charge). I had to order Room Service because I needed to work. Food was just below average and, with the mandatory tip included, too expensive for the quality received.
I'm not complaining about the cost, which was in line with expectations, but extra expenses for the same stuff are never a good thing.
Been avoiding Sheraton after a similar experience a while back. Guess I should've continued to do the same.

Everyone was very helpful. They really wanted to make sure that our stay was the best. Rita in the bar was very helpful. I can't say enough about her. Sandy, who drove the transportation van, gave us her cell number so we could reach her quicker. Everyone very helpful and friendly.

The club lounge and its staff is wonderful. Especially Julie! The chef has made some great additions and I really appreciate the glass of wine at the end of the day.
Also, your fitness facility is always in top working order, clean and fully operational.

The bath facilities were very small. The staff was quite attentive. We were in town for a wedding and the gentleman in the maintenance area repaired the mother of the groom's purse to save the day. The valet volunteered his assistance on several matters too.

We did a family vacation to St. Louis and stayed here. We had a great stay! The hotel was clean and comfortable, our kids enjoyed the pool and the staff were always very friendly and ready to help in any way. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the area.

Elevators were not working well resulting in long waits.
Breakfast staff in SPG lounge not well trained. Late, no coffee or cream, no plates, etc.

The staff here is fantastic. Everyone at the front desk goes above and beyond. The bellmen and shuttle drivers are as friendly as can be. The location is much better than I ever would have expected, and it's just a short drive or train ride away to downtown St. Louis.

I made my reservation online(sheraton) and then when i checked in, the front desk attendant told me that as I made my reservation trhough Expedia, i was not getting any points. I am pretty positive that i booked through Sheraton website. so that disapointed me a lot.

The hotel itself was fine, nothing special. We decided to eat breakfast at the restaurant (Alexander's). We chose the buffet. The service was awful, even though it was just a buffet. The food was warm at best and the coffee was horrible. Overpriced for what you get!!

Club level facilities were closed at the weekend - the very time I would have used them. Useful for a breakfast on the run during the week. Did not get a chance to use the great looking swimming pool. Location was convenient for my work at Stanford University.

The hotel met all of our needs, especially for handicapped access. As we could not easily access the business area, they made allowances for wi fi in our room.
It would have been nice to have in house restaurant open every evening since the weather was nasty.

In three day period of time - no one smiled - you staff needs to loosen up. No good morning, questions relative to uprades as an SPG Member were ignored. Non- SPG members, people within our group assigned rooms on SPG floor while members not given priority.

It's right next to Washington U and Delmar Loop. Staff is very helpful and gracious enough to upgrade us to club level with access to the lounge which provides great evening snack (pasta, bread stick and salad) and morning breakfast. Wonderful experience.

We found that the downtown location offers many areas of interest within walking distance and their complimentary shuttles to and from the airport, the Galleria mall and many local attractions certainly saved us a lot of money since we did not rent a car.

Terrific front desk staff, bar service, and housekeeping staff. They are friendly, happy, and helpful. The club lounge attendent could use some training on frequency of cleanup and spending less time talking/complaining with other hotel staff memberws.

Staff was very personable and accomodating to our needs. We came to the Clayton Sheraton for a family get together and requested that all 4 reserved rooms be on the same floor and close to each other. Our needs were met and everyone enjoyed their stay.

This was our 4th stay.....and as always, it fit our needs perfectly. Good location, comfortable beds, clean and lovely rooms, and GREAT staff. The friendliness and helpfulness of every person working there makes it a pleasure to stay at this hotel!

I have now stayed at this location many times. I enjoy the location, staff, bar/restaurant, and the room. However, the internet connection they have available leaves something to be desired in the evenings when everyone comes back to their rooms.

I travel 90% of the time ( 200 nights a year). The room was the smallest ever...based on the price I felt it fell way short of expectations. I stayed here because i attended an event being held there...next time...I will stay at another hotel.

We were in a single queen room which was tiny, stuffy, very poor air circulation and very weak water pressure in shower. Loud explosive toilet. Smallest room I havwe ever stayed in. This is not acceptable for over $150 per night at a Sheridan.
