Rated 2 out of 5 by ConditionOne Not up to Sheraton brand standards
No WiFi. No gym. No lounge. Super cramped room. No wonder this place is leaving the Starwood family! I was upgraded to a Corner Deluxe room and it was so cramped that I felt I was constantly tripping over something in my room. I barely had anywhere to put my carryon and laptop bag down! There’s no luggage stand either (not that there was room). Ceilings are super low (7 feet), which doesn’t help, either. The desk reminded me of elementary school. Things were built in the room for much shorter people. My lower back twinged whenever I bent over at the bathroom sink. LAN internet connection was fast. I offered to buy up to a suite, but was told they were all booked. On the plus side, the room has lots of windows which gives you great lighting. At night, the light bulbs do a great job of brightening the room – probably because of the low ceilings. And while the room is outdated, it’s super clean.
Arrived here on the JR Airport Express. To get to the hotel, head towards the subway line. If you look at the overhead signs, there are arrows pointing to where you should go. Take the elevator down one floor (you’ll see the hotel from the elevator), and the Sheraton is a block away. As others have noted, the hotel is by the Shin-Sapporo station, so this isn’t a central place. But it’s one 5-minute JR Airport Express stop from Sapporo central station. The subway will take considerably longer.
As there’s no Lounge, I was given my 500 points and allowed to eat in the restaurant. There was an average selection of food. Plates were plastic prison type cafeteria trays with six square sections. There was an egg station, a few hot items, and the usual stuff you’d expect to find. Tour groups will overwhelm the restaurant in the mornings.
The staff have a good grasp of english, and are great at giving directions and helping you out. They were probably the highlight of my stay. This place is incredibly subpar for the Sheraton brand. Book elsewhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by wangchunjih A Good Hotel Could Have Been So Much Better
Hotel is within 5 minutes walk from the JR and Subway station. However the surrounding is rather remote. So daily commute to downtown is necessary. Service is average for Japan, but check-in could be improved. Hotel takes make tour groups, so individual travelers may find left out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by smartal Good hotel but not foreigners friendly
Breakfast on 29 June Morning..
we have 2 pax. Usher Ms Mimura brought us to a corner for table and passed us to the waitress Ms Katsu at that area of the restaurant. There were couple of empty tables, but still Ms Katsu was bringing us to a table that is yet to be cleaned. initially i was thinking those other tables were being occupied. However, when Ms Mimura brought in another 2 Japanese customers who was behind us the queue, Ms Katsu showed them to an empty table next that is to ours and sat down. i was then asking Ms Katsu why she needed us to wait for a table that is not ready while bringing the Japanese customers at the queue behind us to somewhere which is ready, she couldn't explain, but asking Ms Mimura for translation, then she immediately to show us a table which is ready without giving a reason (Ms Mimura was still here if she need translation)
As i'm seeing Ms Katsu was asking that 2 japanese customers for coffee/tea once showing them a table, i was curious why she didn't ask us when she was showing us our table. Anyway, i thought she had just forgotten so we initiated for a coffee request while she was leaving us at the table. she acknowledged our order immediately by getting away our coffee mugs.. we were keep waiting and waiting for our coffee but still not being served while seeing she was serving other late Japanese comers for coffee/tea.. initially i was thinking she had just forgotten. However she had come couple of times besides our table, chatting with our neighbour Japanese customers, i was looking at her and she was looking at me and my table (saw we don't have coffee mugs, which implies our coffee has not come yet) but still not showing a sign that she was trying to go and prepare coffee for us. The coffee was not come until we had finished our breakfast for a while, and while my friend was going to the toilet.
This gave me a hard feeling that she simply ignored foreigners and gave priority to Japanese because she don't speak English. And even worse feeling when she was trying to revenge us by ultra delaying to serve us coffee as we were complaining on her first motive. i felt being discriminated and ignored as we are not Japanese.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jll888 Good Hotel but buffet breakfast to be improve
This hotel is just a minute walk from Shin-Sapporo Station which is quite convenient to travel around.
The buffet breakfast has limited choices, and if possible please be there earlier, else if you arrived after 9:30 a.m., many food was finish and not replenish. It makes your choices more limited.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Edward2014 Horrible attitude to SPG membership
I am very disappointed with Sheraton Sapporo hotel's policy on SPG members.
(My reservation number was 161115477.)
First of all, I made a reservation about 1 and half month ago(2014.04.10), however,
I could not have a room even in the SPG level! I checked in 2:30 PM, however, they just gave me a room in 20th floor.
No explanation about my tier, no staff at the SPG counter, no explanation on Wifi in a room. It's totally a mess.
As a platinum member, I just thought this hotel decided to ignore SPG membership, because you will leave SPG in September. How can I accept this kind of policy?
Though it's fully booked, I booked 1.5 months ago, and checked-in before 3 pm. After my check-in, a lot of people still checked-in at night and in the evening. I cannot understand the reason they did not give me a SPG level without any explanation, at least.
I called the guest service and ask about changing my room to SPG level, and they let me wait for about 1 hour without any comment. After 1 hour I called again, asked again and moved to 23rd, which is not still a SPG level, and smaller than the previous room. I just gave up.
Just 1 day stay, I have never seen any person at the SPG counter in the reception.
This was my second stay after earning the Platinum level, and now I am very skeptic about SPG Platinum tier. Everything is "on available", and local hotel shows reluctant to upgrade. Please think about this.
I will never go this hotel again, and my absurd experience will be shared in Korean social communities. I am also very disappointed with the loyalty of each SPG hotel.
What a shame on the SPG Platinum tier!
Why don't you just leave SPG right NOW?

Rated 1 out of 5 by TYC55 Avoid this hotel if you are a SPG member
This hotel offer rooms that were too old and way below Shearton's standard. The front desk lady was rude.(7/17 evening) She didn't care if I am a SPG member or not. I lined up to ask her assistance to change into a different room due to air condition malfunction, she refused in first place and said we can't give you an upgrade. After a long conversation, I asked to speak to the director of rooms or manager. She denied but disappeared to the back room of front desk. After a few minutes, she came back with rude attitudes, assigned me a different room without any further explanation.( still not the SPG preferred guest floor) When I entered the room, the bell man and I could both smell the stinky air from the bathroom. Contacted guest service for solution, the person said" I'll find someone speak English to call you back" Never called back. Avoid this hotel until they improve both the quality of services and rooms.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ho17145 It's convenient!
Didn't aware stay at New Sapporo is just as convenient as Sapporo. the hotel is right next to the JR station on the 1/F and subway station on the B/F. Depends on where you wanna go, you can choose the JR or the subway which is just 15 min from Sapporo.
The Japanese restaurant on the G/F has great food as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jll888 The corner room of this hotel is quite big.
Second visit to this hotel. Being offer to a corner room again. The room is about double the size of normal room which is a plus. The room is equip with moisturiser to prevent the room condition too dry which is another plus.
The down side is the toilet bowl was not equipped with heater which is not so comfortable during winter especially in the morning.
Again the buffet breakfast still not see any improvement. We still need to wait for 10 minutes to wait for the food to be replenish.
