Rated 4 out of 5 by Very nice hotel, great location. If staying in downtown Sac this is a great choice. My only issue was with the "noisy" bedding. I'm sure it is high quality but it is very loud when someone moves. Didn't get much sleep. November 14, 2012

Rated 4 out of 5 by In Room Wifi at a Cost No state rate of $84, but chose to pay the extra out of my own pocket because I heard good things about the hotel. They offered the "green" program which I normaly say yes to, but here it meant that you did not even get your bed made. No maid service at all. Choose not to be green. Worst yet was the no free wifi in the room. They charge for this and if you want to use a computer you can, but you are limited to 45 mins. Again, since there was no state rate and I was paying the difference I was not also go to pay for wifi. The stay turned out way more expensive for me and I am a state employee with limited travel funds. The Sheration Grand was not State Employee friendly. I will be canceling my reservations for my next trip to Sacramento. I will be staying at a State Employee friendly hotel. November 5, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel does not care for its guests I will starts with the good: 1) I like room service staff - always extremely nice and professional and the food is ok. 2) Club lounge will do although it's tiny in size. 3) Rooms are ok. (as expected) but I never get any upgrades :( Now the problems: Huge issues with the service. 1) Housekeeping service is the worst - I never get what I need in time, and the reception desk personnel lies about the status of the request. E.g. I needed a toothpaste in the morning and I very specifically asked if they would be able to accommodate my request within 10 min. Reception desk confirmed. I did not get a toothpaste for another half and hour (I called them twice to follow up), and finally I had to leave because I was already late. I had multiple issues of that type and I spent in this hotel about 5 months over the past 1.5 year so IT IS REPRESENTATIVE of the service in this hotel 2) Check in is the slowest of all Starwood properties I've been in! (even Hawaiian resorts are faster). I belive that they have some system issues and their comps are super slow... 3) Hotel does not offer an on call valet service any more :(( (= during my last stay I had to go downstairs personally when I needed my car). 4) Any time I call and the say they will call me back, they never do... unless you get hold of a supervisor / manager. This is so irritating and a waste of time. I typically can leverage my ambassador to deal with them but sometimes I need something when my ambassador is not available and then it sucks. Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Hotel Had a great time at this hotel. The beds were great, the bathroom larger than expected. The best was the workout room. Great weight lifting equipment!!!! Way better than expected. Open 24 hrs. A suspended pullup bar would be great though. Overall awesome. Will stay again. November 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by they made it right! I booked this hotel for my husband, myself & my daughter because it was 1 block from the facility where we were attending a wedding. We notified the hotel we would be arriving at 3pm & would need a room right away so we could get ready for the wedding. When we arrived not 1 room was ready so we ended up getting cleaned up & dresses in the restrooms but they recommended a restroom upstairs that was hidden so we could have some privacy & they were sincerely apologetic. I was pretty disappointed as you can imagine but I kindly let them know. When I got home & checked my email, I saw that they had credited all our costs for us. The entire cost of the room plus our parking! About $180 total they credited to us. They made everything "right" with us. We will be back. October 31, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel in downtown We had our room on the 23rd floor overlooking the downtown area & it was spectacular. The room was clean & fresh & the amenities were more than what we expected. A great stay for a great business conference. Highly recommend to stay here. October 31, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Weekend Surprise Your hotel booked a significant number of rooms and seems to have forgotten to notify the staff. 45 minutes to get car out of self-park (one overwhelmed attendant). Checked in, asked if we would like "green", said we like fresh towels, THEN told $5 card per day if no service (can and did call for addt'l towels and coffee). Was told cards would be under door; one was. Had to ask several times for 2nd card; then told only one card per day of service. Was told on check-in two cards !! Desk clerk finally gave us 2nd $5 card, which we used for brunch on Sunday morning. Your restaurant manager and his staff were overwhelmed with guests. They worked diligently and were very very nice. But, buffet ran out of food and everyone waiting for more. The elevators were very slow and it appeared that only 2 of 4 were working. The Lobby cafe was not open at all, they would have done great with coffee, bagels, muffins. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained and everyone was very nice, however, it is not what one expects from Sheraton. October 31, 2012

This hotel displays a history and modern look all in one. I have stayed here before and consider it my second home when in Sacramento. October 31, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful but work on checkin/out A beautiful hotel within walking distance of great dining and beautiful sites,e.g Old Town and the Capital. The room was attractive and comfortable with a nice view. The only criticisms are 1. the conference room was WAY too crowded for comfort and 2. check in and out takes WAY too long. Rated 2 out of 5 by Overpriced slow service We made our reservations and requested a roll away bed to be placed in our room, this request was made again upon checkin and finally after 3 phone calls it arrived. After the third phone call, we were told we would be helped in the order the request was received. When we told them the request was made when our reservation was made and again at check in, it arrived. It was getting close to 11pm! On three occasions while standing in line for help at the front desk, the staff allowed someone else to cut in front of us without waiting. October 25, 2012

On concluding the first day of my event, I arrived in my room prepared to enjoy the Friday night episode of a favorite program, I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED to discover that your hotel does not carry Univision. This is a travesty, that a first-class Sacramento CA hotel does not carry a major Spanish-language network. I am very offended. October 23, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Not what it used to be.. Check in was awful. Long lines and no one available at the Preferred Guest line-- of course I find this out after minutes of waiting in vain then told to get in line behind the 6 people who came after me. Valet was a mess too. We waited 15+ minutes for our car and were told multiple times it was coming but they forgot to get the car 3 different times. Now onto the room. The bed was so uncomfortable that I took the bench cushion from the window seat and put it on the couch and slept on it. The club lounge was great , really appreciate that perk. The day staff is definitely better to deal with than evening staff. Generally come to this hotel 3-4 times a year, but not after this last experience. October 18, 2012

Rated 3 out of 5 by Convenient location Location was very convenient to the convention center. Room was nice, comfortable and clean. Hotel restaurant offered good breakfast choices but the dinner choices were pricey and quite limited (although the food was good). No amenities shop/newstand to speak of. Used the business center for computer access and encountered problems with two of the terminals - finally found one that worked. October 9, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Needs Improvement This hotel has a good location and nice facilities, but my experience left something to be desired. When I called to change my reservation, the agent quoted a price over $100 more than my original booking, and when I said it was too much he "found" a lower priced special. My room was at the end of the hall across from the stairs, which felt insecure for a single woman traveling alone. The room was clean but the phones were both dead, and the sheets were falling off one of the beds. I also do not recommend to a woman traveling alone to go out after dark in this neighborhood. I was only a few minutes late for breakfast and could not get anyone to bring me food. Perhaps they were overwhelmed October 8, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Thank you for a nice 4 day stay GREAT HOTEL. Keoni (?) was excellent in checking me in. Long line to wait to check in. Also, never enough valet to bring your car and you cannot call ahead. Only request would be to add a refrigerator to the rooms. Also, I requested high floor and got 12. Housekeeping was excellent and the gym was very nice. No water though. October 7, 2012
