Everything was fine except the elevators in the north tower. Only one of two worked, and that one was extremely slow. Had to figure in 15 minutes additional time due to elevator. Food provided was very good, except entree at Wed Mar 6 evening Gala. Skirt steak was terrible. h'orderves were excellent. Someone called in sick on Friday, so large airport van was unavailable, and I was forced to get a taxi in order to make my flight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by OC2013 Great balcony view
We were there for my wifes birthday and our (40th) wedding annver. They gave sent up some strawberrys/champaige which was great. Although we were next to the ice maker and people were there all day and night, very loud!! The guests next to us were very loud and had a screaming baby and kids running up and down the halls that woke us up all through the night. Bed was not very comfortable! Other than that it was a great stay!

Rated 2 out of 5 by mikie loved hotel except for below
did not get upgraded. Was told by man at check in that the room was best. I was very unhappy with the room that I paid EXTRA points for and was told by Starwood that it was the best room. I called to ask if there was a better room, Nora said yes and I told her above and it was my wifes birthday ; after 3hours I got a GREAT room, the one I should have gotten in the first place, was surprised that for inconvience no SORRY or DRINK

Rated 2 out of 5 by bratyrn19 Worst Sweet Sleeper!
I'll start off with the good, the view was beautiful. The valets were pleasant (although they did keep repeatedly give up other peoples keys.) That is about it. We love Sheraton, for their comfortable hotels and amazing beds. This hotel provided neither. My husband and I both up stiff with sore backs, feeling like we had slept on a plank. The paper thin walls did not help with the return of the late night partiers coming down the call. Some of whom did not make it all the way to the room, as evidenced by the vomit in the hallways at 8 a.m when left and the smell of it in the elevator. The thin walls also did help with car alarm that went off for almost an hour in the middle of the night. My other issue, and this may not be for some, is that is it isn't close to anything. The bay is beautiful and we wanted to go for a walk in the evening and get dessert and there is not much nearby to walk to. This was by far the worst Starwood hotel that I have stayed in.

We have stayed at this property since the early 80's & it keeps getting better every year.Any amenity that you would want is available, excellent pool facilities, great fitness center, easy access to any aquatic needs & excellent restaurants. Some of the most polite & friendly staff that we have met anywhere. All concerns are quickly addressed to the guests satisfaction

Rated 4 out of 5 by Taco Great Hotel, great price
What a wonderful hotel to stay in. It was my first time in San Diego and I knew nothing of the area.. The hotel delivered everything it promised.. Comfy king sized bed (LOVE the sleeper beds!) with a balcony that overlooked the marina. It was clean, safe, quiet and just an overall good deal. The grounds are beautiful and we took a dip in the pool, relaxed in a hammock and explored the different excursions offered on the water! The staff was friendly and helpful.. Parking was easy and available and we were a quick 10 minute drive to downtown. if you need a last minute deal or place to crash for the night, this is a great option! I dont have a family, but it seemed very kid friendly with lots of games and activities - rent bikes, ping pong and air hockey tables in a game room.. but I wasn't bothered by the kids.. you can definitely have a romantic stay as well.

Overall very nice property and plan to revisit again. Location is great with a resort feel. Room was ready early, Starwood recognition. Staff prior to stay very helpful as we were arriving July 4th., very busy.
Great directions on how to bypass closed left turn. Room appearance was nice with Bay View.
Problem was due to room cleanliness, Pillow on one bed had dog urine smell, ruined its impression on first night. (do a smell check before lying your tired body down)This should never happen. Housekeeping staff was slow to fix problem. After 2nd call, the room was cleaned and the lady that took care did a great job, no follow up from supervision though. Hotel was more than expected with the exception of housekeeping, and if housekeeping gets it together this would be four plus star property. As we said if problems with housekeeping are not fixed are next visit will be our last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by governmentman1 The room was nice but..........
The room was nice but for some reason the bath tub/shower was not. I noticed that there was a ring around the tub and it appeared that it had not been cleaned in some time. When I travel, i always bring disinfecting wipes to wipe down areas such as the toilet and on this occasion, the tub. My other compliant is the fact that there was no mini refrigerator to store cold drinks and the only option is the over priced cash bar.

This hotel is on Harbor Island, which is a great location central to everything--the Gas Lamp, Little Italy, the Midway Museum, Mission Bay and other beaches. The staff was wonderful too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Lien great area and view but unknown room charge?
great place, knowing not too far from downtown and right across airport. not the first choice cause they are renovating the patio for the lobby and parking area so there are quite some inconvenience. No bottled water for SPG gold platinum members though. Restaurant staff was very graceful to kids, so that is a big plus.
Had checked out and got final bill... and somehow mysterious charges appears on the credit card bill??

Rated 2 out of 5 by jfs2011 pay for everything
Enjoy the San Diego marina hotel where there is no guest perks you pay for everything. especially parking @ 20.00 a day ,at least give a staying guest a special rate. stayed in the bay tower on the 1st floor which was below the lobby the basement floor if you will. To keep guests coming back give the paying guests some perks, maybe free internet, better pillows, not the one's filled with nothing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by bobbyb too few staff at front desk
had to wait for front desk and room service staff
Hotel lobby looked odd without any front desk staff. If one staff member must leave to service a client, another should immediately replace them. Waited about 10 minutes without any staff at the desk. That's a long time for your standard of hotel.
Room service staff was unavailable to take my order. By the time they called back, it was too late and I changed my mind.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this hotel. I like that the rooms are 33% larger than the other Sheraton linked to this site. My first two visits were excellent. This visit seems to fallen below the normal expectaitons I had for it. Our room's cleanliness was boarderline unexceptable. There was a lot of hair in the bathroom and the shower had a constant leak that dripped the entire trip. Windows were also dirty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SPG4Life27 All was good except the check-in
The hotel was fine, nothing terribly noteworthy either way, but this was by far the slowest check-in experience Ive had at a Starwood (Im lifetime gold so have checked in many times). The regular line was taking forever so they opened up the SPG line, I moved to that one and it was even slower, it probably took about 40 minutes to check in which was even more odd since we arrived around 10PM.

This Hotel is situated between two Harbors. The views from any room are magnificent. The nautical theme is carried throughout the Hotel.
The staff is attentive, the food is wonderful and the rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. The work out room is fully equipped and staffed. The Club Room Lounge has panoramic views of Coronado Island, the City of San Diego, and the two Harbors. Bravo! We can't wait to return!

Rated 1 out of 5 by GingerC Very Disappointed
The balcony room with a view I was promised turned out to be ground level with a view of a green wall behind the tennis courts. The free wifi access code we were given at the conference I attended didn't work, and when I called for assistance I just got put on hold. I finally had to give up. Didn't get the wake up call I scheduled. And this is just after 1 night. I have 4 more to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pride2012 Great location good hotel
Location was close to everything I needed, airport, Mission Beach, Balboa Park and downtown. Hotel was elegant, quiet and comfortable. The staff was excellent and professional, best I have experienced in a long time. Lack of parking (and a dirt lot at that), no refrigerators in the room and a dirty hallway carpet were why gave it a 4 star rating rather than 5. Overall a great place and I would recommend staying there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Derek73 Service beyond the call of duty
I had a recent stay at the Sheraton San Diego and Marina for a conference. On my way back to Georgia, I realized that I had left my conference materials and a phone cord in my room. When I landed I gave the hotel a call. I spoke with a gentleman in the lost and found department. Without any hesitation, he said that once he checked the room in which I had been staying that he would give me a call back. Within 30 minutes, I had a return call saying that my items had been found and that he would make sure that they were mailed to me. He even asked if they needed to be sent overnight mail! I said no, that regular mail delivery was ok. By the end of the week, I had my items in hand. By far the friendliest staff of any hotel that I have stayed in! Plan to come back to San Diego later in the year for a family vacation and will definitely be staying at the Sheraton Marina!!!

We chose the Sheraton because my daughter was running the America's Finest City half-marathon. The hotel was offering a special pasta dinner the night before the race. She has a gluten intolerance and the restaurant manager was only too happy to cook up the gluten-free pasta we brought with us. They were absolutely delightful about the special request. It was a treat for her and very much appreciated! Thanks so much!

Rated 3 out of 5 by DownNoutNsan I would recommend, with warnings
The hotel charge to credit card I use to hold the room with, instead of charging a credit card they swiped upon check-in....
And even though I went downstairs to the front desk twice, because they had two of my credit cards charged, the problem was never resolved until after Check out. So half of my money was tied up which limited my vacation. I couldn't even watch a movie in the room, I couldn't even charge a movie!

First of all I paid for a deluxe bay tower room and was placed in a regular. Paid for the upgrade. That was just the beginning food at the hotel was terrible and staff less than accomodating.
Also we paid for a late check out and got locked out of our room even though when we went to get new keys it was right there on the screen. Had to wait in line 15 minutes just to get it resolved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tennesse Great hotel, highly recommend, skip breakfast.
Loved everything about the hotel...the bed and linens were very comfortable...the view amazing and the staff was great. The business center was well staffed. The restaurant was excellent at lunch and dinner. I would highly recommend it. The breakfast buffet was disappointing to say the least. However, we were able to find nice places for breakfast nearby since the hotel is convenient to other nice restaurants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Machine911 Great Views
I have stayed at this hotel several times now and had not been let down in anyway. The views on the bay and marina sides are both very nice and look twice as good at night. On my last trip though there were a couple of issues, the shower did not work very well, and during the breakfast buffet staff served my child some juice in a glass cup that had a major crack and a dime sized piece of the rim was missing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Barney45 Awesome Views
From our balcony we had an awesome view of the Bay, the San Diego Skyline, the Coronado Bay Bridge, & the North Island Naval Station. We were able to watch tour boats, tankers, sailboats, etc. Our King room was spacious & spotlessly clean. The bed was the most comfortable ever! On the downside there's no free WiFi in room, no free breakfast & location is a bit too far from downtown.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rick2016 Excellent hotel - excellent staff - excellent stay
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and really enjoyed it. The view was great - the pool was relaxing - the staff was very helpful - and the location was central to Coronado, Point Loma, downtown and the harbor (which was what we were looking for). Our kids are now in college but we also noticed a lot of family/kid friendly activities like popcorn at the pool, evening movies at the pool, a lots of games, pool tables and ping pong tables. The bell boys and concierge were very helpful as were the folks at the front desk. And I enjoyed my workouts at the Fitness Center. The Starbucks in the lobby was also very convenient. I've stayed probably 300+ nights at Starwood properties throughout the world in the last 6 years (probably 80% business) and this was one of the most enjoyable. We are glad we picked this property and we do plan to return. Lots more to see in San Diego!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Peterpar Great location great pools
Overall our stay here was very enjoyable. The only negative was the gross dirty kitchen water smell that emitted from the bar/restaurant. It was a cool looking place but had no desire to go in because if the smell. We actually held our nose every time we had to pass on our way to and from room and pool. All in all we had a great time. This property has one of the best fitness centers I've seen at a hotel

Rated 3 out of 5 by H1925 No room cleanup
This hotel asked you to be "green" by not having your room cleaned at all. There was supposed to be a reward of some sort. I never received the reward, and just had a messy room with wet towels the whole time. I'm sure the "green" program saves them a ton on wages. Also, the coffee machine was broken and shot water and coffee on the desk, but that was left for me to clean up because of the "green" program.
