I am a few stays away from lifetime platinum status and I travel ALOT. This used to be a great property and I haven't been here in the past few yrs.
I arrived to one desk associate at 6:30pm, got no upgrade but took it graciously. Once up in my room, I tried the internet, painfully slow. I decided to make the trek from my tower across the lobby and up again to the members lounge and it was dirty, food was cold and the internet there was so slow and computer so slow it took 10 minutes just to load the SPG page! Speeds were no better down in the link, supposed to be a highspeed hot spot!
I was tired from 3 days of business in the area and the night before flying home am staying here for the proximity to the airport and the views. I decided to order room service and got dirty silverware, a sweetened iced tea when I asked for no sugar and my food was cold when it arrived. I was so exhausted by this point I just picked at it and put it back in the hall and am off to bed. NEVER AGAIN .
All I can say that is vaguely positive is it's near the airport and reasonably clean but rundown.
BEWARE of this place, it was once wonderful, but now food, service and building upkeep is pathetic!!!

I want to focus on the hard working staff in the Club Lounge. We arrived on a friday evening and went to the Club Room for breakfast on saturday morning, 8/3/13. For some reason, possibly some guests registering for fewer guests than they actually had in their room, there were more quests than expected and the room was short staffed. One girl in particular, Melanie, impressed me with her effort to please and keep a smile on her face. Many of the guests were impatient and actually rude as Melanie did her best to keep the food stocked and tidy up after the unruly guests. There was a slab of butter on the floor none of the guests bothered to clean up, just rudely pointed it out to her. As she got on her hands and knees to wipe up the mess, people continued to complain about being out of coffee or granola. Melanie graciously explained that more product was being brought up from downstairs and would arrive shortly. But all the people wanted to do was complain. I was impressed with her gentle nature and ability to remain polite in the face of adversity. This was a busy facility, but I feel the staff did all in their power to accommodate their guests throughout the facility.
In addition, my daughter and I rented Eliptigo bikes on Sunday morning and had the time of our lives gliding around the Marina area. You could not ask for better views or weather! We love San Diego!

Bed not very confortable and the air vents were very dirty with dust. Overall, I would stay again.

1st arrived at the hotel and was not greeted as a Starwood Member
2nd Reservation was split into two different confirmations instead of being compiled as one as requested
3rd Asked bellman to deliver luggage to our room, took nearly 30 minutes
4th There are no signs in the guest rooms warning that the HVAC system and the balcony doors are interlocked and, by leaving the balcony door open for more than 30 seconds, causes the Air Conditioner to stop cooling.
we went without AC for 2 nights just leaving the balcony door open for cooling. We finally called Maintenance the 3rd night and this is when the maintenance staff member explained about the doors and HVAC system.
5th we recieved no housekeeping until late sunday evening, approximately 6:00 PM. This was the only housekeeping service in 4 days.
6th I was trapped in a malfunctioning
elevator for approximately 20 minutes, the elevator call function did not work and the only way I was able to attract help was by ringing the Alarm button.
7th in return for the incovenience of being trapped in the elevator, the Manager called and said was sending up breakfast cvouchers for us, we waited an hour and no one ever arrived, we had to leave for the airport.

I originally booked this room months ago & called the hotel to specifically reserve a bay view room. I was told absolutely no problem & they supposedly put a note in the system. Upon checking in, the front desk states "we are at capacity & no longer have bay view but we will give u a marina view". Grrr.. Then when we get into the room the couch has white spattered disgusting looking stuff all over couch as well as long blonde hair on it. I call the front desk to complain & they send up a maid with sheets. Placing them over couch & chair- BUT the sheets have stains too! Walls had handprints on them. The lamp in room has a clear base, it looked like it had never been cleaned! The drinking glasses were smudged not clean. The cords from snack case were sticking out all on floor. TO TOP IT OFF, it was extremely noisy from other guests very late at night/early morning & we could even hear the flushing of toilets from other rooms! This room was over $150 & I've stayed at cleaner $40 rooms in Vegas than this! PLUS, parking was $22?!!! & then we had to wait for parking attendant each time we wanted to leave or come in because our room key would not work on the "automatic gate". I will NEVER stay here again!
