Rated 5 out of 5 by Hospitality beyond expectation Dear Sheraton KL, Thank you so much for making our stay meaningful. We were here to celebrate my mom's birthday and we were all very pleased with the hospitality provided to us. Special thanks indeed to Stephan Sieberg , Felix Derrick, Salah Ala, Iffwhat and everyone that has made our stay memorable. March 16, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by The Worst Hotels in the World of Starwood This place is dirty. There’s just no other way to put it. Many people have complained that the Sheraton Imperial KL beds often caused itchiness and skin problems. I found hair on the already very dirty sofa and intimate hair on the bed lingerie! The carpet was so dirty that you can not walk on it! Sheraton Imperial KL is one of the dirtiest hotels in the world and for sure the worst hotel in Starwood Group! August 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by No Elilte Recognition I was so disappointed because I was not upgraded to a suite as a platimum member. I expect a suite for my next visit. February 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fantastic Lounge View - Not the Best Transportation Options I stayed a single night at this location, just to try out a different hotel during my business trip. Firstly, it's not in the most convenient location as there are no major stores or restaurants near it (within a 5-minute walk). The location is across from the university, which itself was under heavy construction in February. The design of the hotel is very old fashioned, exhibiting a high-scale appearance, and there were a number of conferences going on at the same time. Check-in was quick and efficient. I stayed in a Club room on one of the upper floors, which offered a great view of the north of the city - although that was mainly the university under construction. The size of the room was unbelievable - it was a huge room with a long entrance, walk-in closet, and separate work area. For the work area, it wasn't just a desk up against the wall, but rather a corner of the room where you could face into the room and see the TV. The room itself was rich in woodwork, all the way from the bed to the walls and furniture, which mirrored the high-scale appearance of the lobby. Visiting the Club Lounge on the top floor was a treat, as it offered a photogenic view of the city that was hard to beat - in fact myself and several of the guests were taking photos of the city. It's hard to see the Petronas Towers from the building, but there are many other sights and green areas. The food in the lounge was fantastic, with a wide array of options for both eastern and western palettes. I ensured that I visited the happy hour a few times, both to work and enjoy the view - more the latter, to be honest. I didn't use the pool here, but it also has a large pool deck that is private, although you travel through a few public spaces to reach it. Going back to the location, I would recommend taxis as transportation, although I did walk back from the Petronas Towers one day. That walk took around 30-35 minutes. February 16, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by A Hotel that not so far away from tourist spot yet not so crowded The hotel is just a minute walk from the Monorail Medan Tuanku Station with just a 3 stations to the Bukit Bintang and 8 stations if you come from KL Sentral. The executive lounge was nice which can have the view of KLCC and KL Tower at the far end corner of the lounge. The SPG Recognition was good where we get an upgrade to a suite room. The room was big which have seperate walk-in wardrobe and seperate living room. September 8, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good location, average service Positive: * Very close to 2 light rail train stations (short walk) * Only a 20-minute walk to the Petronas Twin Towers * Excellent buffet breakfast at Essence Restaurant * Two excellent staff: Doris at the Club Lounge and Faisal at Concierge Desk. Both provided excellent services far above other staff members at this hotel. Negative: * Female reception staff was not friendly and not very helpful with Platinum upgrade at check-in. A few hours prior to checking-in, I already saw on the SPG App on my iPhone that I have been upgraded to non-smoking Deluxe Suite. But at the check-in counter, she said that there is no suite available and that she can only give me a regular room. After showing her my iPhone screen, she said she has to go and talk to someone in the back. After her 3 visits to the back office, she finally came and said that there is one suite available, but it is on the smoking floor. I took the suite on the smoking floor since the room did not have any smoke smell. After settling into the suite, I checked the Sheraton KL reservation website and noticed that there are several suites available (both on smoking and non-smoking floor). It is unfortunate that the Front Desk personnel had to lie to not give Platinum members the upgrade. Very unprofessional. I did not want this check-in experience to ruin my vacation, so I did not bother to go down to request room change to non-smoking floor. * Even though we were on the 36th floor, we could still hear loud night club noise between 11PM to 4AM -- not helpful for light sleepers. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel with Luxury breakfast buffet Friendly staff, nice rooms, swift room service, relatively large swimming pools, and especially a nice lobby and huge variety of restaurants. The brekafast buffet including a choclate fountain, choices of curry and many other warm asian dishes, spring rolls, fresh fruits and juices; omelettes, soups, waffles and pancakes composed individually after your very personal wishes are a great start in the day - worthwile to take some time in order to try out many different tastes August 12, 2012
