Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel, Attentive Staff We stayed at this hotel for a girls getaway weekend and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely accommodating, from guest services to check-in. There is a downtown shuttle that will pick up and drop off anywhere downtown, which is a fantastic service. The room was spacious and clean, and I loved the green clean program with the SPG reward points. I only wish we had known about the shuttle beforehand, as we really didn't need to rent a car. Rated 4 out of 5 by Checkout issues I was disappointed with the progression of my checking out. My bill did not include the birthdate second day discount, instead I was billed two full rate days. It took way too long to correct this error and required a manager. Your hotel (via phone call) booked me a week earlier with the special, I showed proof of birth during check in. Don't offer discounts if you plan to honor them. Otherwise the hotel itself was very good. July 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfort and Hospitality on the mark, The hotel is comfortable, warm, hospitable, and welcoming. All staff are professional, seemingly know their jobs, aim to please, and are ready to accommodate their guests. There is a Go Green program that allows guests to opt for no housekeeping services during the stay in return for SPG points or reduced fees for meals. I love the breakfast and hospitality on the 10 th floor. This is my third visit and I love the place. The airport shuttle is a wonderful perk!!! January 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Except for a few things I normally love staying here but this time, check in was sheer chaos, long line of people but part of the problem were other customers. The club room was very nice, the outdoor pool also very nice. My wife to be and my dog were very comfortable and happy, same as I felt. The havoc was a little noisy and the room temp was hard to regulate but not that off-putting. Thanks! August 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Air Conditioning The staff was great! The only complaint I have is the air conditioning in my room was not working properly and I told guest services. They sent someone to my room and they said it was fixed but it would not go below 75 degrees. I didnt sleep very well the four nights I was there due to it being warm in my room. A co-worker had the same problem and was told to stay on a lower floor next time as it was cooler on the lower floors. Really? June 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful hotel I booked this hotel as an anniversary get-a-way. I was hoping for a nice romantic experience, and it was perfect. Wow! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They wanted to make our anniversary as special as we did! We had requested a room on an upper floor. When we checked in they told us that the AC in the tower was out. So they put us in a larger room over looking a lovely courtyard. We loved the room and our stay. We will be back for sure. June 6, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Starwood hotel I have every stayed at I checked out two days ago...I still have not received any response to my email from the hotel to date. Loft Room is horribly loud. Loudest HVAC system ever. TV was disconnected upon arrival, I had to move the heavy dresser to get the wiring and reconnect. Sofa Bed was not made...no bedding in the room for it at all. Asked for extra towels on my reservation...nope. the coffee table in front of the sofa bed is so heavy that I needed my wife's help to push it out of the way for the sofa bed. Arcadia door to the faux balcony with "keep this door locked" sticker was completely unlocked and my 6yr old discovered that right away. I'm a SPG Gold, and our location of our room was where people would stand out front of our glass arcadia door and smoke, so between the people outside and the HVAC banging all night, we did not sleep at all. Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed We had a spacious room with a king bed and a sofa sleeper for 2 adults and 2 children. When we were ready for bed and pulled out sofa sleeper there were no linens on mattress and none to be found in room. All of us slept on king bed. We did order room service and asked for grilled chicken childs meal because of gluten allergy, and the chicken arrived breaded. Also, for 4 people, we only recieved 1 place setting of silverware. Everything seemed imcomplete. October 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Friendly and informed staff This hotel is beautiful. My only disappointment was that my daughter and I did not get the room we booked. We arrived 10 min. Before 3 (check in time) knowing we would have to wait for our room on the Club floor for 10 min. When i checked at 3 pm, I was informed our room was not ready yet. After and hour and 10 min of checking periodically with the front desk, we were offered another room on the 7th floor with the access to The Club Floor provisions and Internet access. I accepted this arrangement only because we had a concert to attend that evening and needed to get into our room and on our way to the concert as quickly as possible. Our room was nice, but we were disappointed that we did not get our Club Floor room with the accommodations there. The staff was wonderful with directions for us when we asked and great to deal with. Rated 2 out of 5 by Overbooking When I arrived at the hotel at 9:50PM, there was no line at check in. However, I then waited nearly 30 minutes while the desk clerk struggled to find me a room and a long line of other travelers grew at the counter. Finally, after a series of instructions over the phone from a mysterious supervisor, the clerk found me a room. Why they were so unprepared for an obvious problem is beyond me. July 31, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Salt Lake City Stay The hotel was acceptable. Nice, but nothing over the top. Unfortunately there were some attention to detail issues with our room. There was a broken toilet paper holder, a big nasty wad of hair came out of one of the "clean" towels, and worst of all... once we woke up in the morning and the clean sheet cover fell off the comforter we discovered multiple fairly large blood stains. Incredibly disappointing and disgusting. July 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This hotel feels like home! My visit to Salt Lake City was for medical reasons. I was alone and feeling somewhat intimidated about so many appointments in an unfamiliar place. The Sheraton was just what I needed - a home away from home! I walked in to a warm fire, helpful people, and a cozy beautiful room. Austin and Zach were at the front desk and helped me to get where I needed to go. They were real people who really cared about helping me. Thank you Sheraton, I'll be back. December 15, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Enjoyed our stay, would have been better in a Club level room. I would like to know what it would have taken to get an upgrade to your Club level rooms ? Every e-mail we got kept saying upgrade, upgrade & upgrade. I tried with no luck at all. I started trying any where from 4-6 months ago. If you are not going to upgrade people when they ask for it then don't keep sending e=mails to say do it. I would also like to know what it takes to get a Club level room ? I have an SPG membership , but it didn't help any. July 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff was amazingly committed to my comfort I travel quite a lot and I have a working service dog. Jin the evening I was ver tired and after work the van driver was so kind and took my dog for an hour walk Then the next morning it was snowing and the hotel staff allowed me to let her run and roam in the courtyard sin pace no one was out there. This is so ubove and beyond what I would have expected!! I will definitely try to stay at this hotel agai !!! Everyone on staff was amazing!!! December 25, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by 8th annual ski trip My buddies and I have gone skiing the same week in SLC for 8 years in a row. The two-story rooms are perfect for a ski trip TC in the platinum lounge is crazy nice and even remembers us when we return. Brooke was very helpful at the front desk, from getting us in a first level room, to even getting a sewing kit to repair a torn glove. She remembered my name every time I walked past the front desk and took great care of us. Thank you SLC! January 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Staff In My Travel Experience This has to be the best hotel I've ever stayed on business travel. I'd like to express my appreciation for the wonderful staffs: Veronica, Brooke, and especially the Manager "Aaron Magee", who would go the extra mile to ensure that all of my requests are fulfilled no matter how troublesome they are!! This is the only place that makes me feel like home away from home! August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very friendly staff Enjoyed meeting and talking with TC in the 10th floor lounge, very pleasant to everyone. September 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel, nice downtown location Sheraton SLC is a nice hotel. From the outside, it doesn't look like much; however, inside, the rooms are newly renovated. The front desk, room service, and housekeeping staff have always been quite friendly, helpful, and attentive. I also like its central location downtown. One of the few things that I feel like they could improve on is their level of SPG recognition. We rarely get room upgrades, even when the hotel is quite empty. October 21, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice rooms, bad breakfast I stay here on business trips for which this hotel is designated. My dinner was fine--even though there was a large convention going on, the chef and waitress readily responded to my needs. Breakfast was truly terrible--good coffee and OJ, but the scrambed eggs were so over-cooked as to be inedible, and when I ordered a poached egg, it was raw.The sausages were cooked on only one side. There was no toast--just pastries and oatmeal. September 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by My First choice in Salt Lake As a frequent traveler, I stay at this Sheraton whenever possible in Salt Lake. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Fitness center is operable and clean. Club lounge is well stocked and staff makes it feel comfortable. Starbucks onsite for caffeine lovers as myself! Only negative is the restaurant onsite. Service and food were very poor on my last visit. Food was undercooked and I was not charged. June 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Three Great Stays We recently stayed there three separate times, and each time had a great experience. Thanks to Veronica at the Front Desk and T.C. in the Club Lounge. September 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Club Level !!! We came back this year because of TC in the Club Lounge. All four of us agreed she made our trip last year special. Starting and ending our day ion the club level lounge TC made us feel like we came home and not back to a hotel. She is a huge asset and a great face of SPG. We will be back again for another block of room because of her. Aaron at the front desk was super nice too and the food at the sports bar was quite good! April 1, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Problems with Plumbing We rented two rooms for 5 nites and had adjoining rooms so we could have help with our baby (we are relocating from east coast to SLC). Room 146 had a major leak from the ceiling above in the bathroom two days in a row. My mother in law slipped on the water. The engineer came and said he would fix it so we stayed out of the room all day. Next day, same leak, no one bothered to fix it. THey had to change rooms. Tub didnt drain. May 11, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Forgotten Blanket I forgot my daughter's blanket. I called within 2 hours of leaving the hotel to be put on hold, hung up on, and disrespected. I am 100% positive it is there. If it went through laundry, that is fine. However, it is my daughter's first blanket. It has a significance in our lives. To be laughed at, told I was going to get a call back and not, to have to call every day more than once in order to talk to someone is not acceptable. June 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Repeat visitor As a repeat guest (at least 10 to 15 nights per year) the hotel and staff meet my needs quite well. The staff was very attentive and made me feel at home. The rooms having been renovated a few years ago are holding up well and the bar area is quaint with good food at a fair price. JB at the front desk went out of her way in assisting me with a reservation adjustment that I have not seen at any other hotel that I have been to! January 21, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Brooke at front desk Sheraton is very fortunate to have such a professional at the front desk. Brooke went beyond my expectations to make sure my stay was enjoyable. September 9, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Pictures look better, actual facility is average We stayed just a quick overnighter.. When we booked the hotel, the photos looked really nice so we chose it. The lobby is nice and the rooms were renovated nicely, but what bothered me was that there was a strange odor n the hallways and in the rooms. It was musky covered by bleach. The staff was friendly so that made up for it. Glad we were there just 1 night. I don't think I could stand that smell if I stayed longer. July 31, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice downtown hotel This is a nice hotel right in the heart of Downtown SLC. Like many Sheraton's this is an older hotel that has had a nice remodel. The hotel has always recognized my Platinum status with a suite or club floor upgrade. They have an outdoor pool which is usable in the winter and their indoor hot tub was to crowded to get into. I guess all of the people come of off the ski slopes and want to relax in an undersized hot tub. August 14, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Convenient to downtown restaraunts this is an average full service hotel. Due to its size, it's difficult for the staff to really get to know you. they were very responsive to my needs, even if they were'nt able to fix them. In my instance, the TV reception in my room were very weak, to the point that many channels were unviewable. I was offered to move to a different room, which I declined. There was no attempt to have the reception in the room fixed. June 8, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Terrible customer service and rude staff My husband and i stayed at this property twice in a week's time. The second time we checked in, we were greeted by a very rude person at the front desk. She proceeded to give us a room that someone was already in. My husband and I walked in on a woman in bed and scared her half to death. When I called the front desk to tell her, she said, " I don't have anyone in my system staying in that room..." Ridiculous, as we told her we walked in on this woman....She kept me on hold for almost 15 minutes until my husband went to the front desk and asked for the manager..they moved us to a terribly loud room right next to the staff supply room...All in all it was a terrible experience on top of an already stressful visit to Utah based on the weather...ALso, they did a terrible job of keeping the front walk way shoveled from the snow...I fell flat on my face on the way out...UGH....
