Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable and Convenient We stayed 5 mights. As Platinum Member, we were upgraded to the Club Floor. The Hotel was very Clean and nice, staff was friendly and professional. Our room was small but quite and comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Our Meetings were held at the Convention Center. The hotel was located very conveniently near the Convention Center, Energy Solution Center, Shopping Centers and Restaurants. If our travels bring us to SLC again, we would diffidently stay at the Sheraton. May 7, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Terrible wi-fi connectivity My travel is business related and I require reliable wi-fi connectivity. I did not have this at this hotel. The connection I did have would last no more than 20 minutes; I was dropped at least a dozen times! I phoned Sheraton tech support to no avail. Important work did not get done as a result!! Rated 2 out of 5 by no room at the inn i arrived on 3/25 for my company's (Adobe) annual customer summit. my original reservation was to arrive on 3/24 and I had called the prior week to move my arrival to 3/25. when i arrived on 3/25 there was no record of my call to change the reservation and my room had been given away since i had not arrived on 3/24. the woman at the front desk was almost pleased to tell me that they were sold out and that there was just nothing she could do to help. when i asked what i was supposed to do she said "well, i am not sure since the whole city is basically sold out." i asked to speak to the manager (Alex) who basically told me the same thing. the only thing they told me was that i was on a "list" of people who needed rooms but that i shouldn't hold out for any hope of actually getting a room. later that day Alex did actually find me a room at hotel across the street for a night and then i had to change to the sheraton for a night, for me the issue wasn't that there was a mistake, that happens. for me the big issue was that their initial reaction was that the problem was all mine. in the last 6 months i have made the switch and stay almost exclusively at starwood and as a one of the "family" i just would have expected a little more compassion to my plight. it all ended fine - but at the moment i was thinking i am never staying at a starwood again. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great stay in Salt Lake This hotel is a great option for staying in Salt Lake City or the surrounding area. The staff is very friendly and really does a great job making you feel comfortable. As a Starwood Platinum member, the options available and additional friendliness made my stay even better. The fitness center is above average for a hotel fitness center and the lounges are really nice to sit down, relax and have a drink. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Salt Lake. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great stay in SLC Don't judge a book by it's cover! This hotel may be an older building but has been renovated/remodeled with fantastic service, comfortable rooms, all the outlets you need as a business traveler, good gym and club floor and finally is very convenient to downtown SLC. Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfort and Hospitality on the mark, The hotel is comfortable, warm, hospitable, and welcoming. All staff are professional, seemingly know their jobs, aim to please, and are ready to accommodate their guests. There is a Go Green program that allows guests to opt for no housekeeping services during the stay in return for SPG points or reduced fees for meals. I love the breakfast and hospitality on the 10 th floor. This is my third visit and I love the place. The airport shuttle is a wonderful perk!!! January 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceptional Service Great front desk staff and fantastic shuttle drivers that are really knowledgeable about the local area. March 20, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed We had a spacious room with a king bed and a sofa sleeper for 2 adults and 2 children. When we were ready for bed and pulled out sofa sleeper there were no linens on mattress and none to be found in room. All of us slept on king bed. We did order room service and asked for grilled chicken childs meal because of gluten allergy, and the chicken arrived breaded. Also, for 4 people, we only recieved 1 place setting of silverware. Everything seemed imcomplete. October 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable I appreciated the comfortable stay, the Link @ Sheraton, and the Starbucks connected to the hotel. The fitness room looked nice, though I didn't have a chance to use it. March 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Starwood hotel I have every stayed at I checked out two days ago...I still have not received any response to my email from the hotel to date. Loft Room is horribly loud. Loudest HVAC system ever. TV was disconnected upon arrival, I had to move the heavy dresser to get the wiring and reconnect. Sofa Bed was not made...no bedding in the room for it at all. Asked for extra towels on my reservation...nope. the coffee table in front of the sofa bed is so heavy that I needed my wife's help to push it out of the way for the sofa bed. Arcadia door to the faux balcony with "keep this door locked" sticker was completely unlocked and my 6yr old discovered that right away. I'm a SPG Gold, and our location of our room was where people would stand out front of our glass arcadia door and smoke, so between the people outside and the HVAC banging all night, we did not sleep at all. Rated 4 out of 5 by Friendly and informed staff This hotel is beautiful. My only disappointment was that my daughter and I did not get the room we booked. We arrived 10 min. Before 3 (check in time) knowing we would have to wait for our room on the Club floor for 10 min. When i checked at 3 pm, I was informed our room was not ready yet. After and hour and 10 min of checking periodically with the front desk, we were offered another room on the 7th floor with the access to The Club Floor provisions and Internet access. I accepted this arrangement only because we had a concert to attend that evening and needed to get into our room and on our way to the concert as quickly as possible. Our room was nice, but we were disappointed that we did not get our Club Floor room with the accommodations there. The staff was wonderful with directions for us when we asked and great to deal with. Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice atmosphere, great views Location is good and even in walking distance to down town. Rooms are comfortable with nice mountain views. Checkout process is still one of the bests with Sheraton. March 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This hotel feels like home! My visit to Salt Lake City was for medical reasons. I was alone and feeling somewhat intimidated about so many appointments in an unfamiliar place. The Sheraton was just what I needed - a home away from home! I walked in to a warm fire, helpful people, and a cozy beautiful room. Austin and Zach were at the front desk and helped me to get where I needed to go. They were real people who really cared about helping me. Thank you Sheraton, I'll be back. December 15, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Enjoyed our stay, would have been better in a Club level room. I would like to know what it would have taken to get an upgrade to your Club level rooms ? Every e-mail we got kept saying upgrade, upgrade & upgrade. I tried with no luck at all. I started trying any where from 4-6 months ago. If you are not going to upgrade people when they ask for it then don't keep sending e=mails to say do it. I would also like to know what it takes to get a Club level room ? I have an SPG membership , but it didn't help any. July 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Staff was amazingly committed to my comfort I travel quite a lot and I have a working service dog. Jin the evening I was ver tired and after work the van driver was so kind and took my dog for an hour walk Then the next morning it was snowing and the hotel staff allowed me to let her run and roam in the courtyard sin pace no one was out there. This is so ubove and beyond what I would have expected!! I will definitely try to stay at this hotel agai !!! Everyone on staff was amazing!!! December 25, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice rooms, bad breakfast I stay here on business trips for which this hotel is designated. My dinner was fine--even though there was a large convention going on, the chef and waitress readily responded to my needs. Breakfast was truly terrible--good coffee and OJ, but the scrambed eggs were so over-cooked as to be inedible, and when I ordered a poached egg, it was raw.The sausages were cooked on only one side. There was no toast--just pastries and oatmeal. September 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel, nice downtown location Sheraton SLC is a nice hotel. From the outside, it doesn't look like much; however, inside, the rooms are newly renovated. The front desk, room service, and housekeeping staff have always been quite friendly, helpful, and attentive. I also like its central location downtown. One of the few things that I feel like they could improve on is their level of SPG recognition. We rarely get room upgrades, even when the hotel is quite empty. October 21, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lacking Problems from check in to check out. Restaurant was horrible. Bad food, bad service, surly waitress and manager. Involved hotel manager and still wasn't satisfied. We all refused to eat here following al of our horrible experiences. Will NEVER stay here again. February 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Forgotten Blanket I forgot my daughter's blanket. I called within 2 hours of leaving the hotel to be put on hold, hung up on, and disrespected. I am 100% positive it is there. If it went through laundry, that is fine. However, it is my daughter's first blanket. It has a significance in our lives. To be laughed at, told I was going to get a call back and not, to have to call every day more than once in order to talk to someone is not acceptable. June 5, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Problems with Plumbing We rented two rooms for 5 nites and had adjoining rooms so we could have help with our baby (we are relocating from east coast to SLC). Room 146 had a major leak from the ceiling above in the bathroom two days in a row. My mother in law slipped on the water. The engineer came and said he would fix it so we stayed out of the room all day. Next day, same leak, no one bothered to fix it. THey had to change rooms. Tub didnt drain. May 11, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Repeat visitor As a repeat guest (at least 10 to 15 nights per year) the hotel and staff meet my needs quite well. The staff was very attentive and made me feel at home. The rooms having been renovated a few years ago are holding up well and the bar area is quaint with good food at a fair price. JB at the front desk went out of her way in assisting me with a reservation adjustment that I have not seen at any other hotel that I have been to! January 21, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Housekeeping was very good The check in front desk person was borderline rude. Other service people were very friendly. Did not receive room preference. Beds had cheap mattresses unlike the comfort beds in other Sheratons. The quality for cost was poor. February 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Staff Your people made me overlook the simple things that do not matter and I appreciated that! We had a wonderful stay. March 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by a good value in center of town This property is located on downtown close to temple square and the city creek center. real close to the freeway for quick trip to airport. Maintained well with very clean and comfortable room. Exceptional bed, pillows and bedding. Nice view of city and quiet. The gift shop limited hours and restaurant needs improvement in buffet area. Overall this property is a great value and surpassed my expectations! November 30, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Pictures look better, actual facility is average We stayed just a quick overnighter.. When we booked the hotel, the photos looked really nice so we chose it. The lobby is nice and the rooms were renovated nicely, but what bothered me was that there was a strange odor n the hallways and in the rooms. It was musky covered by bleach. The staff was friendly so that made up for it. Glad we were there just 1 night. I don't think I could stand that smell if I stayed longer. July 31, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice downtown hotel This is a nice hotel right in the heart of Downtown SLC. Like many Sheraton's this is an older hotel that has had a nice remodel. The hotel has always recognized my Platinum status with a suite or club floor upgrade. They have an outdoor pool which is usable in the winter and their indoor hot tub was to crowded to get into. I guess all of the people come of off the ski slopes and want to relax in an undersized hot tub. August 14, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Convenient to downtown restaraunts this is an average full service hotel. Due to its size, it's difficult for the staff to really get to know you. they were very responsive to my needs, even if they were'nt able to fix them. In my instance, the TV reception in my room were very weak, to the point that many channels were unviewable. I was offered to move to a different room, which I declined. There was no attempt to have the reception in the room fixed. June 8, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Terrible customer service and rude staff My husband and i stayed at this property twice in a week's time. The second time we checked in, we were greeted by a very rude person at the front desk. She proceeded to give us a room that someone was already in. My husband and I walked in on a woman in bed and scared her half to death. When I called the front desk to tell her, she said, " I don't have anyone in my system staying in that room..." Ridiculous, as we told her we walked in on this woman....She kept me on hold for almost 15 minutes until my husband went to the front desk and asked for the manager..they moved us to a terribly loud room right next to the staff supply room...All in all it was a terrible experience on top of an already stressful visit to Utah based on the weather...ALso, they did a terrible job of keeping the front walk way shoveled from the snow...I fell flat on my face on the way out...UGH.... Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel worked for purpose Stayed in loft room which was really clean. Staff was excellent and friendly. Only complaint would be that there were little things that got overlooked in the room. Square light falling out of ceiling, another light that was the only light over table burned out, some square panel over by porch door not put in very tight and falling out as. Again these were little things but still things that could be improved on. March 24, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel Stayed at hotel for a convention. The staff was great! Walking distance to a lot of places. The convention room was nice and there was ice water available. Was disappointed in the fact that our hotel balcony had a view of a cinderblock wall. Our other "surprise" was that the housekeeper pointed the showerhead at the towel rack at the back of the bath tub and twice we turned it on and soaked the towels and floor. July 1, 2013
