Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location but average staff This hotel is in the perfect location. Right next to St. Mary's Cathedral, Westfield shopping plaza with a fantastic food court on floor 4. Runs along Hyde park, a great place to sit on the grass and relax or people watch. The hotel is very clean. We felt the staff were stuffy and pretentious. There are dress codes that are highly enforced for the club room, every night we witnessed folks being turned away due to wearing shorts, it is summer and Sydney just experienced their hottest day on record, folks want to relax and unwind at the end of the day. We feel it was ridiculous that you could not wear tasteful shorts in this heat. The breakfast buffet was good however we felt the staff and breakfast were much better at 4 Points on the harbor...which was odd to us as we had high expectations of Sheraton on the park and were expecting it to be better since it is supposed to be a higher end hotel. We stayed at Four Points last year same time and the staff could not have been more perfect (kind, professional, sincere, went out of their way to serve and make you feel at home.) The opposite of what we experienced in our long stay here. Unacceptable to use processed eggs for scrambled and omelettes at this level of facility. January 29, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Awesome SPG property in SYD This is a solid hotel in central Sydney, and is pretty much within walking distance of everywhere. It’s easy to get to/from the airport via St. James station, which is less than a block away from the hotel. The staff is the friendliest I’ve encountered, and are all very helpful. Rooms are spacious with modern furnishings, but the typical Sheraton drab colored hallways are starting to show their age just a tad. Upgrades are hard to come by, as there’s lots of competition, and I believe a lot of people actually book suites here. If you have Lounge access, afternoon tea is served on weekends, with a solid evening selection of beverages and hot food. You can easily eat a light dinner there, especially considering food prices in Australia! Soft drinks are available all day in the lounge. Breakfast downstairs in the restaurant is excellent, and can probably justify the $42 they charge, especially on weekends when the selection is a tad better such as offering eggs benedict. Excellent selection of fruits and hot foods, including Asian selections such as fried rice and noodles. There’s even ice cream! Quality is pretty high. Gym is staffed from 6am to late in the evening. But if you’re jetlagged, you can call up guest services and somebody will let you in after hours. May 23, 2012
