Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointeddancermom Bad Dance Convention Experience
Booked for a dance convention. Requested 2 queens and a refrigerator. Got one king and no fridge. There was a rollaway cot that we did not want and it just took up space. Requested that the cot be removed, and it took more than a day to get it done.
Room was too hot and thermostat did not work. My daughter got only two hours sleep the first night because of the heat. Again, it took a whole day to get it fixed.
Part of the problem was overbooking, but this was a very bad experience. Gold status did not help us at all.

We checked in on Saturday of our Christmas party and were given keys to an occupied room. That's a bad start because not only were people there but it obviously hadn't been cleaned. Our second room had no control over termperature and remained miserably hot the entire night. Worst experience I've ever had at a major brand hotel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Worldtraveler1 Great Hotel but Sheraton chain is ruining it
We have been staying in this hotel for years and have noticed changes recently that are part of the Sheraton chain's seeming effort to maximize profit and limit services. The food and service are still generally good, except in the club lounge. The hotel has a bizarre new decorating scheme. We were charged for bottled water although there were no signs indicating the water was not free. We were asked if we wanted to participate in the hotel's so-called "green" program, i.e., no maid service with no price reduction. We opted for maid service, but the maid neither replaced our towels nor provided us with toilet paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JustaTravler The staff alone makes the stay worthwhile
Very comfortable room, great room service, but the best part was the staff. They went above and beyond. I was impressed with every single staff member I met. We had one problem with our room and they took us seriously and made sure we were taken care of. Great hotel experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 2013 Hotel is great.....bathtubs aren't
The hotel is centrally located and has nice amenities. The staff is courteous and makes you feel welcomed. The guest rooms are very comfortable. The only downside is the bathtubs in the rooms. They're narrow and curved - very uncomfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JAY96 Great customer service
Everyone that I met working at the hotel had a smile on their face and were more than willing to make sure things were going well. The room was comfortable and quiet, making for a very restful stay. Even though the hotel was sold out, there were no delays at check in or check out. Very amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spartans92 comfort plus value
Stayed at this hotel on weekend of September 7-9,2012. Although there was a major function taking place there over the weekend (Rotarians), the service of the staff in all departments: front desk, valet, cleaning and dining room was exceptional.
Dining room food was quite good and the prices were fair. The room was spotless and beds comfortable.
The only issue and not the fault of the hotel was the ice machine across from my room. At 4;30 in the morning one of the guests started loading his ice cooler for what apparently was a trip across the Sahara. It took a good five minutes to complete the process and by then it was difficult to get back to sleep. Perhaps a courtesy sign would help.

Rated 2 out of 5 by jcdp Dirty this time with broken safe
Found dirty dried out face cloth on shower bar and remnants in toilet upon evening check in. Went to take a shower- 2 shower gels, not shampoo. Started to wonder i- towel(s) probably had to be used too. Safe did not work. Reported all to clerk on duty and all were fixed the next day as requested.
Next day - recieved paper as requested but front page and edges of others were totally soiled.
I have stayed there numerous times (intend to return next week) and rarely have this type of problem. Will assume it is a 1x experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Klashea18 The best hotel in the area!
We stayed here with our two kids, ages 8 and 3 years old. The lobby was breathtakingly beautiful. The hotel, was comfortable and very clean. We also had club level access, the food and staff were so attentive and polite. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area and recommend to ALL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Neva61 5 Stars is not high enough!
I am not sure where to start with this review and I know I am going to miss thanking some of the awesome staff. I need to give you a bit of history. My mom had a massive stroke on December 22nd. I always stay at the Sheraton Overland Park when staying in Kansas to visit. I called the hotel on Dec 23rd and talked to Brice (Kudu’s on your well deserved recent promotion) he was so understanding and kind and got me a great rate for 3 nights. I checked in Christmas Eve. As hard as it was being there everyone at the Sheraton was so kind. Christmas morning there was a surprise stocking hung on my door with a kind note from the management. As my mom was moved to HOSPICE and my sister arrived, the hotel accommodated us (Upgraded me and put us both on the same floor). We had to make several extensions Bruce and John were very helpful and all changes were met with understanding and helpfulness.
We decided to have a family meal at the hotel New Years Eve. Gina was our waitress what a fabulous person! Tristain also helped out and recognized my brother from his TV show so my bro gave her a signed picture to show off at college.
Mom passed away New Years Day and as I had told most of the staff what was going on I even received a sympathy card from the Manager John Armstrong. John also set up the dining room for another family dinner on January 2nd. As sad as it was the service was excellent we had Tristain serve us again she was great. When I called the front desk I was often greeted with condolences on my loss.
Everyone one at this hotel was so awesome the valet always had my car waiting. Helped us as we had to move and sort many of my mom’s things. The hotel let me use the house safe for my mom’s jewelry. As sad and grieved as I was the staff bent over backwards to assist me throughout my 12 day stay. I could never say enough nice things about the staff or the quality of the hotel including the quality of the rooms, the front desk staff, the wait staff, food, the pool, housekeeping, room service, valet all marvelous. I would so highly recommend this hotel as I have stayed here many times. This time, over the holidays and all, they knocked it out of the park. My praise for this hotel and staff could not be higher.

Rated 4 out of 5 by THEATRES Sheraton in February
Glad to be back at the Sheraton Overland Park.
Ratings above would have all been excellent except for the disturbing drilling, hammering, shaving that was going on above my room located on Club Level at 7:30 AM during the entire stay. I assume this event was a one timer as previous stays have been non eventful.
The Staff, especially front desk rep John, were all as usual outstanding in every respect. High End Facility and look forward to returning in the future.

Was impressed with how the hotel made a special effort with all the JUMP people. I've been to several conventions and the Sheraton made the most efforts to accomodate!

Rated 4 out of 5 by DDD313 Needs a Market
Hotel is a great place to stay overall. My only suggestion is that it add a small market area where a guest can purchase items like pop, candy, supplies, common medicines, etc. Many hotels have these and they are very convenient if you need something. Otherwise, you have to leave the property and drive somewhere to get these items. The only vending machines I saw were for drinks.

Great hotel with a quality staff. The food at 1906 was good too. I've been an SPG member for years and have never had a bad experience at any of your facilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mrkayash Upgraded stay...
Because it was a special occasion for my wife to be out that night, I asked to be placed on the highest possible floor with a view of the KC skyline in the distance. I was given a room on the top floor (20th) with access to the club level (19th). This completely exceeded my expectations and made the stay even better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TiredCustomer This hotel has very, very thin walls
The hotel is beautifully redone. The beds and bedding are luxuriously comfortable. The staff is very polite and very helpful, but I could hear everything taking place in the rooms nearby. I mean everything including amorous activities (gross), screaming kids(annoying),and alarm clocks going off at 4:30 a.m. and every fifteen minutes after that for an hour (beyond frustrating). Also, when we made the reservation we were told breakfast was included. However, at check in the front desk clerk said no, not at the rate we were paying. At check out, the desk clerk offered me points to offset the unpleasant experience. That was nice and appreciated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TennisNut Fancy Hotel with Big Price lacks amenities.
I usually have to stay at this hotel once or twice a year for business purposes, but would never choose it for a personal destination. The staff are very friendly (and usually go out of their way to help you), but it is not a family friendly destination, nor does it leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. The bar takes up 2/3 of the lobby area, there is only one restaurant on site and it is quite expensive (although the breakfast buffet is amazing), and there are no extra curricular activities on site to speak of. The pool was closed, there is no gift shop, and the fitness room is lacking nautilus equipment. They don't even put a small fridge in the room to store medicine or personal items. The rooms are clean and professional, but that should be the bare minimum.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SM123 Bartenders and Waitresses
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights- the Bartenders /Bar Waitresses are the only downside to my hotel stay. The 2 short brunettes working the bar are miserable- they were rude to everyone is our group and seemed annoyed to be serving anyone. The younger of the 2 (I'm sorry I don't have their names) washed glasses in front of us for 10 min before offering us a drink or menu. She also snapped at me when I asked her if she was our 'waitress'- she said 'NO, I'm your bartender'- with attitude of course. This can't be the first time you are hearing poor reviews about these girls. (The very tall Brunette was nice - she just seemed overwhelmed at times).
