Rated 3 out of 5 by Average in every way You can't expect an airport hotel to be as good as a downtown one, no doubts about that, but Sheraton Dusseldorf Airport leaves quite a bit to be desired. It's very conveniently situated for airport transits and isn't far away from the city centre either, but it's somewhat confusingly located when you enter the airport terminal itself, and the signs/directions could be clearer and more visible. The common rooms are spacious, but the guest rooms are quite the opposite - it's the single most cramped Sheraton I've ever stayed in. Yes, it has all the 4* facilities (for example, an excellent buffet breakfast) and there's nothing to really complain about, but it manages to live up to Sheraton standards just barely, without a single added extra, which doesn't justify the 100€+ range of the rooms. Some of the chain's own properties, even airport ones, go the extra mile, so it's difficult to pardon this fact. To sum up, it's a decent choice for transit passengers in dire need of a rest, but for all other purposes, even loyal SPG members should look elsewhere, as there are more convenient options in the city itself at a better value. Rated 1 out of 5 by Interuptted sleep, slightly tired, and poor value overall I choose the Sheraton Dusseldorf Airport Hotel because I wanted to stay within the SPG group. The Hotel is opposite the departures level and accessed via the car park. The approach is slightly odd. The hotel is arranged in an ellipse which results in 'star ship' like corridors. Despite booking via SPG and securing an Executive Room I was not offered access to an executive lounge serving breakfast. I was not offered free Wi-Fi. I'm not entirely sure how the room that I was allocated could be called Executive. The only discernible difference was two complimentary bottles of water. The air conditioning in the room was very noisy. I complained twice. An annoying intermittent knocking when the heater was activated woke me up several times. Instead of arriving refreshed and rested for my 9am meeting with an important CIO I was left feeling dreadful. I did raise my concerns with the hotel and was offered a free breakfast .... I had to decline because I had to leave for my meeting. My lasting impression: The Sheraton Dusseldorf Airport Hotel is bland and tired. The rooms are the smallest I have ever experienced in the SPG group. Despite two complaints nothing material emerged to change my experience. I do not intend to stay at this hotel ever again as I believe that it represents very poor value for money compared to some of the local alternatives. April 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Close to the airport Very friendly and serviceminded staff. I enjoyed my stay, that lasted nearly 8 weeks in a row. Soundproofed rooms, nice bed and the ease to get from/to the airport and to the city by train (right in the basement) is excellent! Thank you again for the stay. :) November 10, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Business hotel never! Unusually I had 3 nights in this airport hotel. For a business hotel the WiFi solution is an expensive embarrassment, the music system comes on too loud and too early in the morning to compete with the noise of the aircraft, the air con is inconsistent with bedrooms for myself and colleagues were too warm, the gym is a joke. This hotel should only be used when logistics dictates, and the meeting rooms were fine. June 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect for early morning flights From the terminal to the hotel (which is located on top of the airport parking) is only a couple minute walk across the taxi lanes. Perfect for those early flights. There is even a tea and coffee buffet setup for those leaving before breakfast starts. October 14, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Room for improvement I stayed one night, my first stay at a Sheraton. The room was functional and what I would have expected. However, the room was cold and turning up the air conditioning did nothing to improve matters - except make more noise. I was very dissatisfied with the dining arrangements. Only one restaurant which, having dined in London at lunchtime, was unable to provide the simple evening meal that I required. I was directed to the 'Chocks Bar' where I chose burger and fries, which took too long to arrive. Breakfast was disappointing and poor value for money. Breakfast buffet looked very unappealing and I do not like to choose food from displays handled by other people. July 10, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great for a quick overnight stop ... not for a 4 night stay We had some difficulties with housekeeping (e.g., no towels one morning). Dining: We enjoyed the dinners we had a couple of times. The quality of the breakfast offering and the attention to ensuring various choices were kept on hand was lacking (scrambled eggs almost empty and cold, person made omelets and said they would be delivered to the table and we never received them). We kind of stopped trying in terms of asking after a while ... the problems seem indemic. Room: The drain in the sink and bathtub in Room 415 are partially blocked and need maintenance. Room was hot and air conditioning ineffective. July 8, 2014
