We were allowed to check out late the next day and the desk clerk was phenomenal. She made us feel right at home. Downtown Chatt was more than we had anticipated. The beds were so comfortable and relaxing, we could barely get out of them the next morning!

The hotel was very nice and we especially like our room. We only received one bar of soap but when I went to the front desk they immediately got us some more. The only complaint was that I sent an email asking a few questions and never received a response, otherwise everything was great.

I absolutely adored this hotel. The staff were helpful all around. From the valet to the waiter in the restaurant, (who was kind enough to lend me his reading glasses when I had lost mine), I am impressed with their kindness. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will be back!

Staff was excellent, location was awesome to downtown area and events within walking distance.
Dis-appointed in overall condition of hotel. Understand it is an old hotel, but keeping it maintained to Sheraton standards that I am accustomed to has not been maintained.

The room was comfortable, but not freshly appointed. There was a stale smell- not especially dirty- probably due to the age of the furnishings. Worn carpet, worn chairs, dated window treatments. I slept great, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was adequate, and there was no noise. I rested well.

Lovely historic hotel and great location allowed a terrific mini-vacation for our family. I found the staff and facility to be exceptional.
Thank you for the complimentary water bottles in the room - I HATE getting charged for a bottle of water when i stay in a hotel. We will recommend to our friends.

I had no hot water the length of my stay (3 nights). Numerous key issues - key would not work for my room or fitness center. Issued numerous keys to correct, technician cleaned lock and then changed out electronic slider on door - made no difference. Frustrating.

this is truly a full service hotel with staff dedicated to great customer service. Every question and need I had was answered promptly and with an attitude of helpfulness. I will stay here again! Also, I LOVE the opportunity to get $5 coupon for refusing maid service each day. GREAT program!

I didn't make a reservation before hand because I hadn't decided that we would stay here a third time but we do love Porters restaurant, the location is very convenient for our needs and our previous visits were satisfactory. This time our room seemed as though it had been forgotten. We started out with no shower curtain, but I must say that once I called to report this omission a staff member almost immediately rectified the issue. I didn't realize until I was in the shower, because the bathtub is old and scarred, that it had not been cleaned properly, it was grimy and gross. The last straw was the obviously stained cushions on the side chair and couch in the sitting area. I would not sit on the upholstered furniture. So this visit was unfortunately, less than stellar.We had a lot to do while we were in town for just one night so I didn't have time to request a room change but I did speak with the front desk clerk at check out, she had also checked us in on the previous day. She apologized but didn't seem overly concerned.

The bed was terrible. The foot was higher than the head and impossible to sleep in comfortably slept on couch and in chair 1 1/2hours is totally not an acceptable wait time for a fillet. Tge waiter did a good job of upselling us but then this facility could not provide the product it promised.

This hotel was excellent, once we got our room. Had to wait for 2 hours to get a clean room. The room was spectacular however, which almost made up for the wait!

This hotel has up to date comfort with stylish details from an era past. I love staying at this hotel. It is charming yet spacious. It is quiet and also located in the heart of Chattanooga. I think you will enjoy this hotel too. Great hotel for a romantic get away.

Roll-away bed that we did not order, keys that did not work, closure of the Club Lounge with no warning, A/C that does not work, room uncleanliness and other confusing issues.

My family and I had an amazing time at the Read House! Jenelle and Lydia took care of us and treated us so well on my birthday get a way. This place has true southern hospitality and a great place to be pampered.
My only disappointment, which is very minor, was the hot tub was closed.

My wife and I stay at the Read Houae about once a year. We love the character of the historical building. It also doesn't hurt that it is so convenient to all the activities of downtown and beyond. The staff of the hotel and Porter's is top notch. Keeps us coming back again and again.

If you stay there during the week, be aware of the parking situation. Valet parking is expensive, but the parking tickets if you violate the meters on the streets is expensive and borderline on extortion. I think Chattanooga is a Cherokee Indian phrase for " nickel and dime you".

The guest rooms were very spacious and comfortable as well as clean. The hotel location was great also. We only had issues with the attitude of the Valet service when checking out and with the cleanliness of the elevators near the pool. We did not use the other set of elevators.

My stay at the hotel was fine....nothing special. What I didn't expect was to go into my checking account two days after I got home to find a debit made to my account. I made no charges to my room. I called and was told this was just to make sure they had access to my account (money). I was told this would be put back in my account in a few days, It's not that I don't have the money in my account but that they debited my account without my acknowledgement. I'm sure there are people who stay there from time to time who do have to watch their pennies and this could cause a person to encounter an overdraft charge. I think this hotels practice of making sure they have their money is ridiculous!!! They need to tell their guest that money will be coming out of their bank accounts and that it will be put back...as I was told in a "few days". They also charge in my opinion a ridiculous amount for parking $15 day.....When ask if I would recommend this hotel you have to check either yes or no......they don't have an whatever button.

I usually stay at a Sheraton when I travel & I have never been so pleased with customer service. The woman at the front desk was helpful & delightful, the bartender at the hotel restaurant/bar was very nice & friendly, & the valet guys were wonderful. Very impressed.

the room was excellent so I was very surprised at the small, mildew smelling bathroom. The wallpaper was buckled and you could not hardly turn around it was so small. Also, the bottom of our bathtub was even peeling. Room 613

Valet parking is a bottleneck when checking into the hotel. If you are checking in at prime time expect an extended wait due to parking loading/unloading space limitations and trained staff.

Love the beds and space in the room. Location at the end of the street is perfect for walking down the street and enjoying Chattanooga. Love the Starbucks in the hotel. We love going to Sticky Fingers a few blocks away and City Cafe around the corner!

This is my go to location when I travel to Chattanooga. This is a great historic hotel with modern amenities. I was able to get a very comfortable room with great customer service. I highly recommend this hotel when traveling on business in Chattanooga!

My first visit here was business related. I had a great room and enjoyed the stay. Which is why I opted to stay here for a family getaway. I am very disappointed with room 416. The furniture - sofa and chair is old and grimmy. The lighting is very poor.

Wall paper outdated and peeling of the wall in bathroom with no counter space for toiletries. Air conditioning horrible! Had thermostat set at 60 F and only this eventually cooled room in middle of night. Took forever. Never heard a compressor come on.

I travel a lot for business and pleasure. The Read House Sheraton was by far my favourite hotel I have stayed at in recent memory. The room was great, the hotel had a certain charm about it and the staff were friendly and very helpful.

The staff was very accommodating and responsive to our requests. Our pet travelled with us and the staff was terrific with him. Would definitively stay there again and love being within walking distance of everything.

Hallway to room smelled like mildew. The pool had way to much cholorine. The service was exceptional. Fix the pool and whirlpool and I think you would have an exceptional hotel. Great location. Beautiful entry. Love Georgian Architecture woodwork.
