Rated 2 out of 5 by Terry24 Unusually disappointing stay
This was not the first time my husband and I had stayed at the Read House. Our previous experience was wonderful. However, this year we arrived and had to wait to check in, our bathtub didn't look like it had been cleaned, there was a used washcloth still hanging from the shower rod, and we never were able to get a cool enough temperature to sleep well. Fortunately we were there for a soccer tournament and did not spend much time in room, so we did not complain. I hope very much this is not the usual experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MathieuGuapo Very enjoyable hotel
I have stayed at this property on several occasions. I must say that the location is one of it's main strenght. Located downtown and within walking distance of a lot of restaurants/bar and even Tennessee Aquarium. I particularly like the hotel's Old World feel. The decor in the lobby and the brick look of the building takes me to what I imagine life in the early 1930's would be like. Now to be completely honest, it sould use a little remodel to freshen up the hallways and the rooms. I would also like to recognize April from the front desk who truly made an impact as she worked hard to accomodate our late request for a specific room on a full house that night.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Rfman Big Dissapointment
I have had the pleasure of staying in Sheraton's in a couple parts of the world. Usually very satisfied. This stay I was not.
1. The room felt damp. The carpet felt damp, the sheets felt damp, furnishings felt damp. No matter how much I increased the Air Conditioning it blew out dampish cold air.
2. The sheets had a strange smell, could have been because they were damp.
3. The bathroom had mold and rusting fixtures.
4. The outside noise was extremely loud at night, could here people laughing.
I will not recommend this hotel at all until they do a remodel of the rooms.

Rated 5 out of 5 Very much enjoyed my stay!
Special thank you to the front desk staff woman at the front desk on 8/20/2014. Both women were very kind and accommodating. Shared information about the history of the hotel and the area. As a platinum member I was upgraded to an wonderful suite. Enjoyed the hotel and look forward to visiting again! Dominic

Rated 2 out of 5 by Raj1985 Decent but Musty
I like the overall style and ambiance of the hotel.
However, the musty smell is a big turnoff. It permeates the lobby, halls and rooms of this hotel. I would advise that this issue is looked into and remediation started quickly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ppp71 Would not recommend this place
I love the spg brand and would always recommend their hotels except for this one in Chatanooga, TN. The hotel is OLD, the carpets are musty, the AC does not cool the system is old and the elevators are so slow that we had to take the stairs several times even after a tiring afternoon!!
