unfortunately I was only staying in this Sheraton for one night only. From the second I stepped out of the taxi until a very early checkout the next morning all of the staff where very gracious and helpful. My room on the club floor had a problem with the lock and the bellman noticed and called engineering to take a look at it and the engineer was there in less than 5 minutes. He was unable to fix the lock but called the front desk and arranged for a new room for myself and my wife and even helped us move. Less than 5 minutes into our stay in the new room the bellman was at the door with newly programed keys for us. Very refreshing attention to detail and a very fast response to solve the problem, I know that doesn't happen all of the time but after a long day of travel from Rome, Italy I was more than happy.

one must consider we are in NYC, USA to set expectations right.
staff are very supportive and friendly, and this is remarkable.
Lounge is small and basic, but for NYC airport it is extraordinaire
just set the expectations right and this is a place you will remember to recommend for when in need.

This was anything but a typical Sheraton experience (a Gold member so stay in a few). The room had zero, I mean zero, noise insulation. I know its next to the airport but the windows were very poor and let all the heat out and all the noise in. I had to change rooms because the heating did not work in my first. The room, bed, bathroom and towels were not upto the usual Sheraton standard. The food menu was poor and the quality of food that came was equally as poor - shame the price was premium. The shuttle bus from the airport took 35 to arrive from calling (even though I was told five minutes). The internet connectivity was poor and I ended up connecting onto the wireless in the property next door. All in all - I will never stay again and not recommend.

The front desk staff have a tough job in a limited space, but were very efficient and helpful.
Our restaurant experience was haphazard and unsatisfying.
The whole place is in need of a make over, the lobby and restaurant for such a small facility is too confined dark and dingy, the food offering inspires very little confidence with no obvious means of preparation.
The beds were very squeaky, although bedding comfortable.
Frank on the front desk was right on the ball, arranging cabs, wake up calls with the minimum of effort, he is very efficient.
I feel the team there are fighting a loosing battle given the environment they have to work in. Much more though should have been given to the leisure areas of the hotel.

The Worst Hotel experience of the year thus far.
No SPG recognition...waiting in line with everyone else to check-in, not even an attempt by staff to ask for Starwood LIFETIME Platinum guests.
Room has strong sewer smell... gross.
No SPG Upgrade and too boot they put me in a handicapped room
Went to get some food and a drink, stood at bar as three separate employees (2 men and 1 women) came and went, argued, came and went, never got anything to eat, and could not even get a beer.
Went to the club level, trying to find some food or a beer, elevator doors open and there is a huge pile of trash and trash bags, and a mop bucket full of water literally blocking the exit from the elevator...really remarkable.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, while it is perfect with its location in proximity to JFK, everything is so substandard and NO BODY cares.

I have to be honest.
I was expecting a hotel that because of its proximity to JFK would be a bit 'neglected'.
I was happilly surprised!! really impressed by how comfortable this hotel is, how SUPER clean. WELL DONE Sheraton JFK
There was one incident. i forgot my wifi portable devise in my room (I put it to charge and i forgot to take with me when i left!). I called the hotel and within 50mins (no joking, under one hour) Lynda from housekeeping send it to JFK, T7 with a driver and I HAD IT BACK!!! WELL WELL DONE...made my day!!! defo will be back.

Hotel is very easy to get to from JKF with airtrain and shuttle service. Lobby is loud due to music from restaurant. Asked if we could be on club floor if possible. All booked but we were on a SPG preferred floor. This was fine. Asked to be able to use club next morning and was told yes, but then said we would have to pay $40 per person. Rules changed 2 days ago. Only platinum members get to use club. desk person did comp us breakfast for next morning. Nice bonus. Room key did not work. Went down had them reprogram.... still did not work. Engineering had to come up. Not good when you just come off a long international flight and all you want is to get some rest. It was handled well in the end
