Rated 1 out of 5 by Would not recommend For a hotel that just had major renovations, I was very disappointed with my stay. Over the course of the stay, both elevators were not working, the air conditioning unit did not work properly and had to be serviced twice, there were leaks in the ceiling, there was glass on the floor, and a few other items. The staff did their best to address the issues, but I would not stay there again. July 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Latest Stay I continue to love your hotel more and more each time I stay there. Our office is close by so this used to be the hotel we HAD to stay at and now it is the hotel I WANT to stay at. Your staff is amazing. Ernie is always a friendly face and ALWAYS greets me with a big smile and calls me by name. That really means a lot. You facilities are beautiful. One of my favorite places to stay. Thanks! Rated 3 out of 5 by paper thin walls while the hotel has undergone some renovations and the rooms LOOKED nice, the walls are paper thin and we could hear every single word spoken next to us or in the hall near us. i'd probably not chose to stay here again for this reason. also, they make you pay for parking but get no ticket and it's basically a scam...i could have parked there and not paid just as easily. seems very odd. Rated 3 out of 5 by Okay This hotel had very friendly staff at front desk. Room was comfortable. But, sofa blocked the air conditioner, and when I moved it there was much dirt under. When I came back to room at end of first day, still dirty....even though room had been "cleaned". Hallways were very dirty. Fitness room was nice. Location not easy to find. June 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent staff This was my first trip to Needham and my first stay at the Needham Sheraton. The staff was excellent and very responsive. The setting was quiet and conducive to work and sleep. I had to wait while checking in (no fault of the staff) and hence was compensated for my wait by being provided free parking. Great hotel. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great hotel, comfortable stay I stayed in Sheraton Needham Hotel for ten days and I loved the way I was treated! The rooms are comfortable. The hotel provides great amenities and ambience. The staff were courteous and polite. I would highly recommend Sheraton for business as well as leisure visitors. February 17, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by highly disappointed When first room had no hot water, we were moved to another room but upgrated to the SPG level. This room's hvac unit shut on and off. Then they charged us for the upgraded room instead of keeping us at the same rate for the inconvenience of moving and the lack of hot water. January 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by 2 week stay The staff are very friendly. We were greeted each day by all of the hotel staff from the front desk, to the maids, the van drivers, the repair workers and all of the other workers. The hotel is beautiful with many ammenities: the pool, the club , the van, the food. The beds were very comfortable, in a lovely large room with a desk and computer hook-up. We would recommend this hotel to all of our friends. October 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Recent Stay My daughter went to a youth medical program and they recommended this hotel. What a great stay on 6/30/13. The hotel was clean and beautiful. The staff was extra friendly. Great Services! July 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Surprisingly lovely suburban property Great lobby, extremely comfortable rooms. Excellent concierge lounge and extremely accommodating people. Well appointed, well staffed, very comfortable. All good. August 3, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by You need to staff your front desk My company hosted a meeting at the Needham property for about 400 people. The catering staff was generally very good. It was the front desk and guest services experience that didn't work for me. There was only one person on staff mid-afternoon. Two guests waited for quite a while while she serviced somebody on the phone. Then she had to answer the phone several times during what should have been a one minute check in process. Later, past midnight, when I tried to call for a wake-up call from my room, the phone rang for 25 minutes (I tried calling several different ways and then called the 800 reservation number from my cell phone to be put on hold for 4 minutes to be transferred to a hotel staff member who suggested that perhaps the buttons on the phone in my room don't work (although somebody actually did answer earlier when I called for room service). Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel needs improved attention to details 1. Your green program is flawed. You should have housekeeping empty the wastebaskets & refill the coffee supplies daily (had to call for more), even though linens are not changed; housekeeping did not leave a voucher for each day I used the green program. You need to revise the program so that some tidying up and refreshing of supplies takes place each day. 2. The printer in the business center had no ink, and you knew about it and did nothing, not even put up a sign. NOT ACCEPTABLE, especially when there's a Staples right down the street. When you printed my boarding pass, your front desk printer was half out of ink. I had to print it out at another place to make sure that the bar code was legible. 3. I was changed $12 each day for parking. There was no information that this was going to be added to the bill, even though I only used the garage one night. 4. Staff did a good job when I complained about noisy kids in the hallway the first night. I did appreciate the manager comping breakfast the next morning. However, as I was on the 2nd floor, and it was open to the lobby, the noise should have been able to have been heard down there. 5. Staff was very responsive when fire alarm went off due to overcooked popcorn in microwave. 6. I did not think that the room was cleaned very well when I checked in. Carpet needed vacuuming, and there was debris on the floor from a prior guest. 7. My key card did not work to enter the gym/pool area. If I'm a registered guest, it should automatically work there (and in all areas accessible to guests). June 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great location Convenient to Boston and Wellesley/Natick where we were visiting. Staff was very helpful. April 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great as always This was my mother's first stay at your hotel, she can't stop saying how comfortable her bed was and that everything was so beautiful. August 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Most enjoyable stay We enjoyed 2 glorious nights because of the comfortable bed and beautiful linens. Will definitely return and recommend to others August 6, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not Up To Expectations! My room had garbage under the dresser and corners were dusty, showing poor vacuuming, corners in bathroom not clean either. I could hear the toilet being flushed next door. October 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rooms! This hotel has the most comfortable bed I have even seen in a hotel! July 1, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Restaurant Staff/Wake up Call Bar/REstaurant staff was really slow Wake up call failed February 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Recent stay We recently stayed at the hotel during the very busy marathon weekend. The staff was very friendly and all of our questions were addressed. They even moved the floor that we were assigned to since one of my traveling companions did not like to use elevators. Even though the courtesy shuttle does not run on weekends a staff member was going to be using the shuttle for hotel business and instead of calling a cab to get us to the T stop they shuttled us there for free. The hotel was very clean. I stayed at your hotel for the same weekend last year and I have to say that the service was much improved this year. I would definitely recommend your hotel. April 17, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor restaurant service and room preparation Breakfast service was very slow. On July 27, it took 45 minutes to get our food. Other customers who arrived after us where served before us. On July 28, it took 30 minutes to get food. We had to ask for menus after waiting about 5 minutes without menus. On July 27, we returned to our room in the afternoon and dirty glasses from the previous evening were still in the room and had not been replaced with clean ones. Also, the coffeee and not been replenished. I had to call to get the glasses and coffee replaced. On July 27, a supervisor from the kitchen told me I would get 10,000 SPG points (the equivalent of a free night) for our inconvenience.. I don't have them yet. August 5, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Would not stay again Had trouble checking in- they did not see my reservation was for handicapped even though I triple checked that and had also called to verify earlier in the day. Took forever to check in. Parking was downhill in a garage that was very inconvenient. The elevator was hard to call and broke down completely the morning we left and we were on rhe 4 th floor even though I had requested a low floor. The room was very noisy and my husband was up half the night with music and laughter keeping him up. The shower nozzle fell on my foot and the robe hook on the door fell off as well. On a good note the bed was lovely and the down blanket and bedding were to die for. July 22, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what it used to be The amenities in my room were lacking: day 1, no conditioner and no shower gel; day 2, no shampoo, no conditioner and no shower gel. I elected at checkin not to have my room not cleaned in exchange for points -- this comes across as so chintzy, by the way -- but still felt that my room wasn't really serviced anyway. Bed was made, but that was it. Had to step out of shower - soaking wet, call downstairs to ask for shampoo, drip on floor while waiting the 10 minutes for it to arrive, and then finished my routine. I stay here regularly for business but will seriously reevaluate next time. August 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Average Hotel, Lots of things need work Stayed here at a conference with over 100 women. Price for the rooms was reasonable, however, at almost every opportunity to provide service, they failed. First and foremost, front desk staff was unqualified, unfriendly, and unhelpful. They were either in training, or just stood there at a peak time, telling people he/she couldn't help them because they didn't know how. The food was average - they catered our breakfast with horrible food, at only $2 less than the full buffet in the dining room. Upon checkout, they billed our account more than $200 than what the portfolio or agreement stated, and we are fighting to get that $ back. I would not recommend, but if you have to stay in Needham then I suppose it's a decent choice - just be prepared for below average service. June 23, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel not able to be responsive We have stayed here before because of our business with Boston College. Our most recent stay was very disappointing. Our toilet was not flushing properly. We notified the staff on each day ( three separate times), but they couldn't fix it or move us to another room. Each day when we would return to our room in the evening, the front desk would assure us it was fixed, but we would go to our room and try flushing the toilet, but it was still not working. This was for four days . Very disappointing . September 1, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Really need to sort out the food Rooms were looked after well, but a bit dark and miserable. The "bing-bing" noise from the service elevator (near my room) was comparable to torture, going over and over again first thing in the morning as staff went about their duties. The real let down though was the food. Steaks were dry and tasteless, breakfast up on the 5th floor, (i.e. the one included in your room rate) was abysmal, there was no real choice and the breakfast room was too small and often too crowded. The staff, however, were all good, friendly and helpful, the gym and pool were nice enough and well enough equip. July 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent stay, as always Stayed here for BC Parent's Weekend and had a great stay--only weird glitch was the parking garage. Our key couldn't activate the gate (we were told there was an electrical problem), and that was the only minor problem. Staff was awesome, as usual, and the food was fantastic! September 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Once Again a Superb Stay This was a return visit to this Sheraton, and once again I was very pleased with all aspects of my stay. The staff as always was friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms are spotless and the beds and bedding extremely comfortable. Looking forward to my next visit and will continue to recommend this hotel to friends and family as I have done so in the past. September 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Convenient location, great staff and breakfast buffet After reading many reviews of this hotel before they completed their renovation I was a little reluctant to book a room there but, was quite surprised and pleased with my room and the hotel as a whole. Room was clean and comfortable, staff was very friendly and certainly met any needs that I had and never had to wait long for them to respond to my request. Food at the breakfast buffet was very good with quit a selection although a bit pricey but, then again you are out East where prices seem to be high on most everything. Location was great as I was visiting family who live nearby in Needham. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Boston and the surrounding areas. August 8, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hotel I frequent a lot of SPG hotels and the Sheraton Needham is one of the best Sheratons I have stayed at. The staff were all quite friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. The room I was given was very updated, clean and comfortable. Staying on a club floor offered access to the club lounge, which was well stocked and offered a evening appetizer assortment and a large variety of breakfast offerings . The location is an easy 20 minute drive to Northeastern and BC and a great alternative to more expensive downtown hotels in Boston. I had a great stay and will be back again. August 9, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Did not meet expectations I decided to book my 4 day stay here after looking at a number of places in the Boston area (visiting my daughter over the Easter holiday weekend). As I usually do, I looked at the reviews on Tripadvisor. However, amidst some unfavorable reviews, I decided to check it out in the hope that I would be one of the lucky ones. Sad to say I believe I overpaid for a suite that did not provide the amenities advertised on your site. No bathrobes, very small 'suite' (rm 170) -- not like the photos on your website -- and subpar club lounge. Got tired of the breakfast after the 2nd day (no varieties), no afternoon snacks (barely any water in the fridge) and the evening was, well, nothing to write home about. April 21, 2014
